Hi.
If you just want to adjust the value inside JDeveloper, you simply open your project properties, expand the <tt>Ant</tt> category and click on the <tt>Options</tt> subcategory.
If you want to use ANT outside JDeveloper, the ANT_HOME environment variable is set at the operating system level. Here is how to access the appropriate screen on a Windows machine:
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Environment variables.
On Linux, you would add them to one of the startup files available for your shell. You can find information about the files for the bash shell here: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/6.3/postlfs/profile.html

  • .jws default program is notepad, not jdeveloper

    Hello,
    I uninstalled jdeveloper 11.1.2.1 the other day and installed the newest version 11.1.2.3. I installed the new version in a different location on my computer. I am on windows 7, home version. I am an administrator on the computer.
    Today I tried to open a .jws file and it opened in notepad. I am not sure if this was an error on my part -- I accidentally chose "open with" and it stuck on notepad.
    At any rate, there are ways to change the file association, in control panel, default programs. Unfortunately, Jdeveloper does not show up on the list of programs listed. There is a browse button, and I used that and selected jdeveloper.exe, but that did not add the program to the list, and it is still listing notepad as the program to open it.
    I tried all of the steps on http://www.techbuzz.in/can-i-change-file-associations-in-windows-7-vista.php
    Would anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Stuart

    Finally found this: http://www.computerhope.com/ftype.htm
    By running ftype in a dos command window, I was able to see that my jws files etc were being opened by the older location of
    jdeveloper:
    JDeveloper.jwsFile="C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
    JDeveloper.javaFile="C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
    JDeveloper.jprFile="C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
    JDeveloper.jspFile="C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
    STEPS:
    ::*Open command prompt (right-click icon from start menu and select run as administrator).*
    ::run "assoc" and you will see if it is there on the list
    assoc
    :: The output should be: .jws=JDeveloper.jwsFile
    ::If it is not there run this:
    ASSOC .jws=jwsFile
    ::Then run assoc again, see if it is on the list
    assoc
    ::Next run this line, but change the location to your location
    ftype  JDeveloper.jwsFile="C:\Oracle\jdeveloper\jdeveloper.exe" "%1" %*
    By running this, it did not immediately make the association to Jdeveloper again, but when I right-clicked the .jws file and
    selected open with, then "choose default program" jdeveloper showed up on the list.

  • Jdeveloper with PVCS

    I am running Jdeveloper 10g using CustomAddinsJD31. Trying to connect to PVCS. But I am running into major problems in my setup. I am unable to locate my jdeveloper.properties files.. Can you someone please let me know if they have a solution to this issue.
    Thnx

    Can you clarify what do you mean by "CustomAddinsJD31"? Are these extensions for JDeveloper 3.1? If so they won't work with JDeveloper 10.1.3.
    There isn't currently an extension for PVCS that connects to JDeveloper.
    You can create such an extension with the JDeveloper Extension SDK and you can also try this approach:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/extools/subversion.html
    You can also ask your Serena contact person if they are planning on creating such an extension.

  • Installing AMA in JDeveloper 9.0.2.822

    I have downloaded the Application Migration Assistant ( AMA ) from OTN site. I could not install AMA into JDeveloper through copying the JAR file into jdev_install\jdev\lib\ext. My JDeveloper version is 9.0.2.822. Could you please give me some advice about how to install AMA into JDeveloper with this version? Thanks!

    Copy the ama.jar file into the following directory, where jdev_install is
    the location of JDeveloper:
    jdev_install\jdev\lib\ext
    Restart JDeveloper.
    You should now have access to Application Migration Assistant.

  • How to change property file contents during run time?

    Hi everyone. First post so go easy on me please.
    I have a couple of properties that I want to read from a from a file. To achieve this I simply use:
    ResourceBundle.getBundle("my.package.MyItems").getString("MyProperty");
    This works like a wonder. The problem is, i want to change the property "MyProperty" during runtime. I've found the properties file (MyItems.properties) inside weblogic, but if a change its contents it does not reflect in the application.
    I can come up with a couple of justifications:
    * I'm not looking in the right folder/changing the wrong file in the server;
    * Weblogic caches the properties file, meaning that I have to redeploy the project (defeating the purpose of actually having a properties file).
    Can anyone help with this one?
    [EDIT] Forgot important info:
    * JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
    * Weblogic 11.3 (not 100% sure)
    * Both JDev and WebLogic running on Windows 7 64 bits
    Thank you in advance!

    JDeveloper 11.1.1.4, not 3

    I tried it all.
    Just an explanation of my context.
    I have 1 application with 2 projects in it. First project is called "CommonUI_ViewController" and the second one "FO_ViewController".
    The properties file I'm trying to change is located inside "CommonUI_ViewController", in package "PropertiesConfig" and the file is called "PhaseListener.properties".
    "FO_ViewController" is dependent on "CommonUI_ViewController". When I run "FO_ViewController" the integrated weblogic server log shows this (among other things):
    [10:25:55 AM] Wrote Web Application Module to D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war
    [10:25:57 AM] Wrote Web Application Module to D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war
    Note: both lines above point to folders. "FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war" and "CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war" are NOT war files, but folders that have that name.
    I tried changing the properties file in the following locations:
    * D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\lib\adflibSPVCommonUI.jar > PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties;
    * D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\lib\adflibSPVCommonUI.jar > PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties;
    * D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\classes\PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties (no need to open any jar/war to get to this one).
    I changed all these files with different values but no change was shown in the application (using the method in the previous post).
    I believe that I'm still doing something wrong :/
    Thank you for your help so far vinod_t_krishnan!

  • How to create adf-settings.xml

    hi
    The blog post "How to configure an ADF Phase Listener and where to put the file " by Frank Nimphius
    at http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/how_to_configure_an_adf_phase_listener_and_where_to_put_the_file
    says "... To configure the adf-settings.xml file, create the file as shown below in the .adf\META-INF directory of your application ..."
    But how to create a file in the .adf\META-INF directory using JDeveloper seems to have some confusing documentation:
    - section "A.5.1 How to Configure for ADF Faces in adf-settings.xml"
    at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31973/ap_config.htm#ADFUI9840
    in "Oracle® Fusion Middleware Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0) Part Number B31973-09 "
    says
    "To create and edit adf-settings.xml:
    1. If not already created, create a META-INF directory for your project.
    2. Right-click the META-INF directory, and choose New from the context menu. ..."
    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 creating a Fusion Web Application (ADF) the .adf\META-INF directory seems to exist, but there does not seem to be a way to "Right-click the META-INF directory, and choose New from the context menu." as documented.
    - section "A.5.1 How to Configure for ADF Faces in adf-settings.xml "
    at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24382_01/web.1112/e16181/ap_config.htm#ADFUI9840
    in "Oracle® Fusion Middleware Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.1.0) Part Number E16181-02 "
    says
    "To create and edit adf-settings.xml:
    1. If not already created, create a META-INF directory for your project in the Application Sources folder (.adf\META-INF).
    2. Right-click the META-INF directory, and choose New from the context menu. "
    Using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 creating a Fusion Web Application (ADF) there seems to be a ViewController\src\META-INF\adf-settings.xml file created by default. Note that it is not in .adf\META-INF but in ViewController\src\META-INF .
    - (q1) What are the specific steps to create adf-settings.xml in the correct location using JDeveloper?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Jan,
    I am actually testing this with 11g R2 PS2 (upcoming) and for me the adf-settings.xml file is not created, which I am confused of. The 11.1.1.6 documentation has been updated with
    *"By default, there is an adf-settings.xml file created for you in the view_project/src/META-INF directory."*
    This leaves room for interpretation
    i) adf-settings.xml are created in th eproject directory for the reason mentioned in an older thread that this is better for workspaces that contain two projects with controller settings
    ii) where there is a "by-default" there must be a non-default, which could indicate the location I used in the blog
    The documentation then goes:
    To create and edit adf-settings.xml:
    If one does not already exist, create a META-INF directory in the src directory of your view project (you will need to do this outside of JDeveloper).
    Note:*
    If you are using ADF Model in your application, then the directory will already exist in the application_name/.adf directory.*
    Which seems odd. Though it confirms the application wide configuration I used, why would you have the default created for the View Layer project and the manual one you create in the application wide configuration. So it seems that there indeed is a missing guidance on where this file should go into.
    So it seems you still will have to wait for a final answer on this. Note that adf-settings.xml is not only used by the controller, which may mean you can have multiple locations (and multiple files?). I'll try and do a bit more research on this. For now, as you say the listeners work for you, I suggest you leave them with the ViewLayer project. I am wondering if the adf-settings.xml file gets deployed with an Adf Library (will check this) in which case the right answer would be to save it in the view project.

  • Adfm.jar

    Hello
    I have a problem with a file named adfm.jar. In my appliaction a class named oracle.adfinternal.model.adapter.ejb.EjbDefinition
    is requested by the application and it should be in adfm.jar. I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 and appserver OC4J 10.1.3.3.0.
    When I look in the adfm.jar shipped with JDeveloper 11g it contains oracle.adfinternal.model.adapter.ejb.EjbDefinition. My
    question is if anybody knows where oracle.adfinternal.model.adapter.ejb.EjbDefinition is located in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2?
    Fredrik

    hi Fredrik (user599710)
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 the class "oracle.adfinternal.model.adapter.ejb.EjbDefinition" seems to be in
    <jdevstudio10132>\BC4J\jlib\dc-adapters.jar

  • VirtualMachine settings problem

    Hi,
    My new O9i JD is working using JDK1.3, while the development environment is set to JDK1.4. The problem is that during project starting(the compilation is OK) the following command is executed by JD:
    javaw -ojvm ...
    and the unsupported option "-ojvm" is printed in the error window. Indeed for "java" command in JDK1.4 only -client and -server are possible as VM definitions. I tried to change Project Settings to choose another VM, but it is only possible between:ojvm, minimal and vanilla. I even tried to set "client" in project file "*.jpr", but it didn't help.
    How to fix that? I think that there is a some stupid mistake in config, but where?
    Could you help?
    Thanks a lot,
    Jack.

    There is a bug in the InstallOJVM script with respect to the 1.4 version of the J2SE. In 1.4, the list of installed VMs is kept at <j2sehom>\jre\lib\i386\jvm.cfg; under 1.3, it was under <j2sehome>\jre\lib\jvm.cfg. When InstallOJVM runs, it tries to modify/create the file at the 1.3 location.
    JDeveloper, when it is looking for installed VMs, checks the 1.3 location first, and then the 1.4 location. So it is finding the (bogus) file in the 1.3 location that was created by the InstallOJVM script. If you delete/rename this file, JDeveloper should then find the correct file, and display the correct choices.

  • Use ContextPath to Access File

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    In my application I am providing print capability to print a Jasper report. Currently the .jrxml file is stored within a location on my C: drive. Ultimately I would like to get the file within the application so that it can be portable to any platform and so that the developer doesn't have to place the file in that specific C: drive location. All of the current functionality works fine.
    So here is what I have done to move the file to the application. The .jrxml file is now stored in the following location within JDeveloper: "/Web Content/reportFormat"
    I am using the following code to get the context path:
    FacesContext lFacesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    HttpServletRequest lRequest =
    (HttpServletRequest)lFacesContext.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    String lContextPath = lRequest.getContextPath();
    String lReportFilePath = lContextPath + "/reportFormat";
    The issue I am having is that the application at run time can't find my .jrxml file there. In fact ADF can't find that location. Could you please provide guidance on how to access the runtime location of the .jrxml file?

    Hi,
    In my case, I put the jrxml files in a folder localized in ViewController/src/%NAME_FOLDER%. And in the java file, I did:
                    FacesContext lFacesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
                    HttpServletRequest lRequest =
                    (HttpServletRequest)lFacesContext.getExternalContext().getRequest();
                    String reportFolder = "report";
              String path = "/WEB-INF/classes/" + reportFolder + "/"+relatorio.getNameReport();
                    path = lRequest .getRealPath(path); //here is a magic
                    //continue jasper processingRegards,

  • ACME video on Java Web Server 2.0

    ACME video was fairly easy to get running using the built in web server provided with JDeveloper 3.0. Things got a bit more difficult when I tried to deploy the web application portion to Java Web Server 2.0.
    Here's what I had to do to get it to work...
    1. The acmevideo_deploy.properties file must be copied independently to the JWS2.0 root directory. If an attempt to access the site fails indicating that this file could not be found, you should place it in whatever directory contains the file acmepropfile_loc.txt. The program is designed to write this file out to help you locate where the properties file should go. Too bad there is no mention of this in the docs!
    2. The imageURL property should be set to imageURL=/acmevideo/images/ for the image files to be found by the html generated by servlets. This value is set in the acmevideo_deploy.properties file mentioned above.
    3. Similarly, the webAppURL propery should set to point to the JWS2.0 server location. For example, on my system it's webAppURL=http://localhost:8080/servlet/WebAppServlet
    4. The following EJB jar files located in <JDEVELOPER>/samples/acmevideo/ejb/server must be added to the c:/acmedir directory and referenced in the CLASSPATH set in the batch file created and used to execute the web server.
    EJBGeneratedRentals.jar
    EJBGeneratedTitleQueries.jar
    EJBSourceRentals.jar
    EJBSourceTitleQueries.jar
    5. The jsdk.jar file that is referenced in the CLASSPATH and which you are directed to copy into acmedir is not required and does not reside in the location specified.
    Hope this helps anyone trying to get the sample running in all of its <ahem> glory. :-) Looks like a good sample app to base a project on if you aren't ready for J2EE or your application platform doesn't fully support the specification.

    There is no need to install OAS or Oracle8i to test the servlet/jsp functionality in JDeveloper 3.0. You might want to check to insure that you installed all available components during installation (a few of them are hidden and you must scroll down to select them). Try running a few of the servlet/jsp samples before moving on to the full ACME video sample.
    Hope this helps,
