Antinstaller - unable to find javac compiler

Hi all,
am using antinstaller to deploy an application. The application which I want to
deploy has its own build file it has targets like clean, build, warfile etc. Its is working fine if an using ant from command prompt. but if I use ant installer
and call this build.xml using the
<ant dir="some dir" target="build" />
then when ant installer runs as it comes to this line it give me error that
Unable to find javac compiler com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath
perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK.
As I have already set JAVA_HOME to the jdk dir and PATH variable to
%JAVA_HOME%\bin.
Am not getting where the problem is - any suggestion is helpful.

sorry, I forgot to add fork="true" to <javac> task

  • Installed j2re1.4.0_03 succesfully, but unable to find javac

    Hi,
    I installed j2re1.4.0_03, but could not find javac.exe in C:\j2re1.4.0_03\bin dir.
    I did find java.exe and javaw.exe in the above dir.
    Can somebody help me resolving this problem.
    Thanks,

    I tried to install both the latest version j2re1.4.1_01 and j2re1.r.0_03 figuring the latest version may have had the problem. I could not locate the compiler in either attempt.

  • GCC on Mac...unable to find

    I am talking a course in C++. I was told that GCC 4.0 exists on the mac. It comes under Xcode. But I am unable to find this compiler to run my C++ code. In fact I download Xcode and reinstalled it. To search for GCC I did the following:
    --Open Xcode
    --File > New Project
    I do not find GCC in the list of things there are...How do I open C++ compiler on the mac and run my programs? Please help!

    No. GCC is only a compiler. If you need an editor, try TextWrangler. It's free. Better still, use Xcode, Apple's free Integrated Development Environment (IDE). It will invoke "gcc" for C programs (you write), and "g++' for C++ programs.
    Technically, GCC is not in Xcode. GCC is a program (one of many) invoked when you compile your program. Xcode "knows" what program / command to invoke by looking at the file extension (.c = C program, .cc or .cpp = C++ program, .m = Objective-C, etc).
    You can trace GCC's lineage back to its UNIX roots, where the closest thing to an IDE is Emacs. After all, Mac OS X is just a pretty face on top of BSD UNIX. IDEs are great, but knowing how to use vi and emacs, make files and command-line compilers is what (all?) programmers should learn (IMHO).
    Try this on your command line / terminal:
    cat>hello.c
    #include <stdio.h>
    int main()
    printf("Hello, world.\n");
    return 0;
    <Ctrl-D>
    gcc -o hello hello.c
    ./hello
    The "cat" command takes whatever you type and redirects it to a file named "hello.c".
    Hitting Control-D in your terminal means end-of-file (it closes the "hello.c" file).
    The following command, gcc, compiles "hello.c", creating an executable program named "hello".
    The final command "./hello" runs your program. It should say "Hello, world." and terminates.
    Congratulations! You just created and ran the obligatory Hello program.
    To debug a program, use "gdb". Again, using Xcode would simplify things. Like "gcc", "gdb" is a command-line program, but Xcode putd a pretty interface on it. Again, it'd probably be a good idea to learn how to use "gdb" in all its native, command-line glory.

  • Ant Build Error - Unable to find a javac compiler

    I downloaded and installed the Sun Java Toolkit 1.0 for CDC. I can build and run the examples with no problem.
    When I create my own project -- either by using the Create from Example option or the Create a New Project from Scratch option, I consistently receive this error message:
    C:\CDCTK10\apps\JillianGolfHandset\nbproject\build-impl.xml:295: The following error occurred while executing this line:
    C:\CDCTK10\apps\JillianGolfHandset\nbproject\build-impl.xml:148: Unable to find a javac compiler;
    com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.
    Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK
    BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds)
    Unfortunately, I'm not an Ant jock.
    I'd like to go fiddling with the JAVA_HOME environmental variable on my system, but something tells me I shouldn't have to touch it; why would the examples work if JAVA_HOME weren't set properly?
    Any ideas?

    I had the JDK installed and the JAVA_HOME set correctly to point to the JDK but it still gave the same error.
    As I'm using Windows, I thought the problem may have been the spaces in the JAVA_HOME path, so I changed it to the old DOS style path e.g with the ~1. But that didn't work
    Someone else suggested adding the JDK bin to the PATH, so I did that, but it didn't fix the problem.
    Doing a search on the web, someone else using ANT had a similar problem, though not with the CDC, and added the tools.jar to the classpath
    So I tried adding tool.jar to the classpath, and it worked !!
    There is probably a better solution, but I couldn't find it, so I'll stick with this one until someone comes up with a better fix

  • [SOLVED] Trying to compile Cafu engine - Unable to find dependencies

    Hello,
    I'm pretty new to Arch and currently I'm trying to compile Cafu (an open source game and graphics engine). On my notebook (running Xubuntu) I was able to compile it successfully but here in Arch the build fails after a while. I guess this is due to a dependency I am missing. Of course I have read the Cafu documentation first and it states that the following packages are needed:
    Cafu documentation wrote:
    A graphics driver with 3D hardware acceleration (the right driver is usually auto-detected and installed by the “Driver Manager”).
    build-essential – The compiler and basic tools required to compile C and C++ programs.
    libgtk2.0-dev – Developer files for GTK 2.0, needed for building wxGTK.
    libgl1-mesa-dev and libglu1-mesa-dev – OpenGL developer files, needed for building wxGTK and the Cafu rendering subsystem. On Debian Sarge (3.1), the packages xlibmesa-gl-dev and xlibmesa-glu-dev used to serve the same purpose, but on newer systems, they have been replaced by the libgl(u)1-mesa-dev packages.
    libasound2-dev – ALSA developer files, needed for building OpenAL-Soft.
    The problem ist, that these packages refer to Ubuntu packages. I was trying to find the equivalent Arch packages, but for the three last list points I was unable to find such a package. So I simply gave it a try, but the build fails as mentioned before. I know, this is not a Cafu forum and this console output will most likely not be very helpful, but I'll post it anyway:
    scons: building associated VariantDir targets: build/linux2/g++/debug build/linux2/g++/release
    g++ -o Libs/build/linux2/g++/release/Models/Loader_lwo.o -c -O3 -funsigned-char -Wall -Werror -Wno-char-subscripts -fno-strict-aliasing -DNDEBUG -DSCONS_BUILD_DIR=build/linux2/g++/release -ILibs -IExtLibs -IExtLibs/lua/src -IExtLibs/lwo -IExtLibs/jpeg Libs/Models/Loader_lwo.cpp
    Libs/Models/Loader_lwo.cpp:208:18: error: 'Vector3fT myNormalize(const Vector3fT&)' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function]
    cc1plus: all warnings being treated as errors
    scons: *** [Libs/build/linux2/g++/release/Models/Loader_lwo.o] Error 1
    scons: building terminated because of errors.
    If I search for example for libgtk, all I find is the following:
    [joe@arch ~]$ pacman -Ss libgtk
    extra/libgtkhtml 2.11.1-4
    An HTML library for GTK
    community/libgtksourceviewmm2 2.10.1-2
    A C++ API for gtksourceview2
    Also I don't know which packages fit "libgl1-mesa-dev", "libglu1-mesa-dev" and finally "libasound2-dev". There is libgl but this causes a conflict the my proprietary nvidia graphics driver.
    Could anyone give me advice, which packages could be the right ones?
    Thanks!

    Okay I have checked all the packages and it turned out that I had already all of them installed.
    This means there has to be indeed an upstream code issue. So I will contact the developers via the Cafu forum. I thought about doing this instantly after the build had failed, but I wanted to check out first whether I was not missing a dependency and consequently it would have been a fault of mine.
    Thank you very much.

    Sounds like your JBuilder environment is screwed up; see what the classpath and bootclasspath are set to, and correct the error. (This is a question that belongs on a JBuilder website.)

  • Problem with JDK 6 update 5 - Error Message says cant find java compiler

    Hi i am a complete beginner to programming and i am having trouble with the latest java development kit. jdk 6 update 5.
    The problem is i have set the path and the program cant find my compiler.
    I have installed the latest java development kit 6 update 5 on my windows xp machine.
    I have created a simple program as shown below:
    class Hello
         public static void main(String[] args)
                   System.out.println("Hello from java");
    saved the file to my desktop as Hello.java
    I have set the path variable like so:
    Go to control panel then click system icon then click advanced tab then click environmental variables.
    Now in system variables the path is shown as this - %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\
    I then add this to the end;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin
    This is the location to the things like compiler, applet viewer etc.
    No in the command prompt i type javac Hello.java and i get this error message:
    C:\> javac Hello.java
    javac: file not found: Hello.java
    Usage: javac <options> <source files>
    use -help for a list of possible options
    The jdk is installed properly im sure but it can find my compiler.
    What mistake have i made in setting the path because im guessing that is related to the problem?
    Could someone out there please help me?
    Thank You
    Rafeeq

    saved the file to my desktop as Hello.java
    C:\> javac Hello.javaC:\ is not the desktop!
    The jdk is installed properly im sure but it can find my compiler.Of course it can! It just can't find the file you are trying to compile, because that's not in the root directory.
    I suggest you make a directory C:\java and save your source file there rather than on the desktop. In the command prompt, enter cd \java to make it the current working directory and then enter javac Hello.java.
    @Pravin: The question is about compiling, not running. CLASSPATH has nothing to do with this problem.

  • Type-mapping not working correctly, get "Unable to find a javaType for the xmlType" WARNING

    I'm manually creating a web-services.xml file, and using the autogen ant task to
    generate the codec XML/Java classes. The XML definition is provided by SAP.
    The ant build.xml file:
    <project name="buildWebservice" default="stubgen">
    <target name="stubgen">
    <clientgen ear="C:\projects\RMIS\ifrrequests\RMIS.ear"
    packageName="com.aa.rmis.webservice.client"
    clientJar="C:\projects\RMIS\ifrrequests\rmisws-client.jar"
    autotype="False" />
    </target>
    <target name="all" depends="stubgen"/>
    </project>
    The problem is seen below in the output from Ant. Note the WARNINIG. The problem
    is that the xml type cannot be mapped to the Java type.
    C:\projects\RMIS\ifrrequests>ant -buildfile clientbuild.xml
    Buildfile: clientbuild.xml
    stubgen:
    [clientgen] Generating client jar for RMIS.ear ...
    [clientgen] WARNINIG: Unable to find a javaType for the xmlType:['urn:sap-com:do
    cument:sap:business']:PaymentRequest.Create. Make sure that you have registered
    this xml type in the type mapping

    [clientgen] Building jar: C:\projects\RMIS\ifrrequests\rmisws-client.jar
    BUILD SUCCESSFUL
    Total time: 17 seconds
    The Java source that has the implementation of the service methods is simply:
    package com.aa.rmis.webservice;
    import com.aa.rmis.ifr.request.*;
    public class TestService
    public TestService()
    public int serviceRequest(PaymentRequestCreate request)
    System.out.println("Received serviceRequest message");
    return 0;
    public void testStringRequest(String request)
    The web-service.xml file is attached, which contains the schema for the SAP PaymentRequest.Create
    object definition.
    Another problem I have, which is probably related, is that the service method
    that has a complex data type (non-built in data type) is not being deployed into
    the WebLogic server. But the other service method that simply takes a String
    parameter is.
    The steps I took are:
    1. Get XML from SAP Interface Repository (IFR) for PaymentRequest
    2. Use ant task autogen to generate the request codec classes
    3. Create the web-services.xml file by inserting the schema definition and the
    mapping file created by the autogen task, and defining the operations
    4. Build web-services.war file that contains all autogen compiled class files,
    the web-services.xml file, and the service implementation class
    5. Build the ear file that holds the web service files
    6. Use the clientgen ant task to generate (included above) to generate the client
    jar file that should contain the proxy for both of the service methods
    Environment:
    * WebLogic 7.02
    * JDK 1.3.1_06
    * JBuilder 9 Enterprise
    * Ant 1.4
    Possible causes:
    * Namespace not being used correctly
    * copied verbatim the mapping xml file generated by autogen into the web-services.xml
    file
    * xml-schema part of web-services.xml might not be set correctly
    * operation definition might not be using the correct namespace
    * Classpath used for ant might not be right
    * Doubt this is the problem, but I'm out of other ideas
    * Set by using the setWLEnv.cmd file provided by WebLogic
    * Tried adding the generated classes directory for my project to the classpath,
    but did not work
    I've been referencing the Programming WebLogic Web Services document throughout
    this entire process. I must be missing something.
    Can anybody from BEA help me out with this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    [web-services.xml]

    Hi JD,
    I spent a few cycles looking over your web-services.xml file, however I
    don't have any suggestions other that one that looks like you have
    already tried, at the top, in the <schema...>
    targetNamespace="urn:sap-com:document:sap:business"
    Making edits to these generated files can be tricky and my only
    suggestion is to create a small reproducer to run by our outstanding
    support team.
    A quick look at our problem database shows one issue (CR095109) related
    to a similar problem at deploy time that was fixed with 7.0SP3. Again,
    the support folks will be able to help focus in on the issue.
    Regards,
    Bruce

  • Photoshop CS5 is unable to find the JavaScript plug-in.

    I have been trying to run a number of actions in CS5 (Windows 7) and keep getting the error "Could not complete the command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in."   It does this with an action that was designed for me to put the filename, copyright symbol, and studio name on 4x5 proofs.  It also comes up when I try to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Shift/W to close a file and go to bridge.  There have been some other batch operations that will not load.
    I have downloaded Java; trashed the Preferences in Photoshop and Bridge; and also uninstalled and re-installed CS5 and none of this has worked.  Any ideas of what to do next?
