Any document on naming conventions to be used in BPM?
Hi All,
Is there any document available which specifies the standard naming conventions to be used in BPM? Please respond, if there is any.
Regards.
Rajat
Hi,
you would need to put string constants in a file ending with .properties. From out of your application you replace all string constants with calls to a ResourceBundle class you'd have to instantiate for the .properties file.
ResourceBundles use a certain namin convention combining an arbitrary name with a locale such as _de for a german system for instance.
See the API docs at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/java/util/ResourceBundle.html
You can see an open source example of an application running in different locales at http://www.lightdev.com/dev/sh.htm

Naming Conventions für PDC Objects
Dear all,
has anybody a document describing the naming conventions for PDC Object.
Example:
iv_xxxx for iViews
ro_xxxx for Roles
etc.
Thanks for help
RomanHi Roman,
check the SAP ASAP Roadmap for Enterprise Portal which can be found in [the SAP Service Marketplace|http://service.sap.com/roadmaps].
There you have several so called "accelerators" - one of those is a best practice document for naming conventions.
Look at Chapter 3.3.1.3
(I know because it is my slide set setup during an implementation project )
Hth,
Michael -

Standard Naming Conventions in XI
Hello,
Pls send pdfs/links for Naming Conventions in XI
RegardsHi Henry,
These r the naming conventions to be followed in XI :
1) For Software Component, the naming convention should be :
SAP_<SID>
where <SID> is the system ID if the applicable system
2) For Software Component Version, the naming convention should be :
X.X
which shows the applicable version as of this date. Eg. SAP_ECC is at version 5.0
3) For Namespace the naming convention should be :
http://ERPGenie.COM/xi/<SCENARIO>/<SID>
where scenario refers to the interface being developed for and <SID> is the component where that object has relevance.
Eg. http://ERPGenie.COM/xi/OrderOutput/ECC will contain all the objects relevant to the Order Output scenario in the ECC system.
4) In Interface Objects ,
a) Message Interface should have the following naming convention :
MI_<meaningful name>_<IN/OUT/AB>
where:
IN = Inbound
OUT = Outbound
AB = Abstract (For BPM)
Remember to evaluate the IN and OUT based on the point of view from the source system to the target system. Eg. If we send an XML message from xEXTERNAL to an IDoc in ECC, then the XML Message is an OUT and the ECC is an IN interface.
b) Message Type should have the following naming convention :
MT_<meaningful name>
c) Fault Message Type should have the following naming convention :
FMT_<meaningful name>
d) Data Type should have the following naming convention :
DT_<meaningful name>
e) Data Type Enhancements should have the following naming convention :
DTE_<meaningful name>
f) Context Object should have the following naming convention :
CO_<meaningful name>
g) External Definition should have the following naming convention :
ED_<meaningful name>
5) In Mapping Objects,
a) Message Mapping should have the following naming convention :
MM_<meaningful name>_<source type>_<target type>
Eg. MM_ORDERSCENARIO_ORDERS05_OrderXML
b) Interface Mapping should have the following naming convention :
IM__<meaningful name>_<source type>_<target type>
Eg. IM_ORDERSCENARIO_ORDERS05_OrderXML
c) Mapping Templates should have the following naming convention :
MT__<meaningful name>_<source type>_<target type>
d) Imported Archives should have the following naming convention :
IA_<meaningful name>
6) In Services
a) Business Systems should have the following naming convention :
SAP<SID>
Where <SID> is the relevant system ID number
E.g.. SAPECC, SAPCRM, SAP46C
b) Business Services should have the following naming convention :
SRV_<XXXXXX>
Where XXXXXX is up to 6 characters to describe the type of service.
E.g. SRV_MAIL, SRV_FTP, SRV_SEEBRG
7) In Adapter Objects,
a) Adapter Meta Data should have the following naming convention :
AM_<meaningful name>
b) Communication Channel should have the following naming convention :
CC_<meaningful name>_<sender/receiver>
E.g. CC_MAIL_SENDER
8) In Integration Objects,
a) Integration Process should have the following naming convention :
IP_<meaningful name> (Keep to 10 or less characters ALL CAPS)
Store these in namespace http://ERPGenie.COM/xi/<SCENARIO>
b) Actions should have the following naming convention :
<meaningful name>
Use Send_ or Receive_ to denote the sending or receiving of messages
Store these in namespace http://ERPGenie.COM/xi/<SCENARIO>/<SID> where <SID> is system where the action is to be performed.
c) Integration Scenarios should have the following naming convention :
IS_<meaningful name> (Keep to 10 or less characters ALL CAPS)
The following web-sites may be helpful for complete naming standards in XI :

I create the Creative Cloud Library asset in illustrator and give it a name such as "camera-icon". It shows up in my Creative Cloud Library pane in Photoshop as "camera-icon". When I use that asset in Photoshop the layer is randomly named "a56bd81d-d81f-4815-82b3-5795d410b527". Why is this happening? Shouldn't that layer resolve the name back to "camera-icon" so that when I extract files for use in my application the naming convention is correct. Right now I have to manually rename that layer again. Is this a bug or have I just not done something correctly?
I think you have pasted the entire crash log. In case of such issues in future, please paste the error screenshot.
Seems to be a permission issue. Lets follow the below suggestions:
Solution 1: Rename the following folders on your machine:
'/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Profiles'
'/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Recommended'
Solution 2: Rename the following files:
'/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps/Media_db.db'
'/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps/pdb.db'
Make sure you dont touch caps.db under the same folder. Now run the installer again. Let me know if you need more help.
Solution 3:
Please Run following commands on terminal on the machine (this will remove the corrupt fonts and should allow you to run the installer successfully) -
sudo mv "/Library/Fonts/ACaslonPro-Bold.otf" /tmp/
sudo mv "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SavedFonts/current/AdobeArabic-Bold.otf" /tmp/
sudo mv "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/HelpCfg/de_DE/goURL_lr_photoshop_de.csv" /tmp/
Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document. If you could also respond with the specific error message you receive, It would be appreciated. -
When I import photos from my camera, I have them placed into projects based on the date the photos were taken. However, I do not like the naming convention used by Aperture as it causes the projects to sort into a non-chronologial order. The convention is MMM-DD-YYYY and I want to change it to YYYY-MM-DD. Is it possible in Aperture 3.2.4 to do this?
In the Import panel you can edit the preset for the file name format to "Image year - image month - image day - index" for example; the preset for folder names seems to be gone in Aperture 3,3 - at least I cannot find it any longer. You only seem to be able to enter the folder name manually in the Import panel.

No error generated if batch process load file uses wrong naming convention
Another interesting one...
When using the batch processing functionality of FDM, which can be executed by either:
- FDM Workbench (manually)
- Hyperion FDM Task Manager (scheduled)
- upsShell.exe (scheduled and executed from a batch script)
..., one has to name the data file (to be loaded) using a specific file naming convention (i.e. "A~LOCATION~CATEGORY~PERIOD~RA.csv" format, for example). However, if one does not name the file correctly and then tries to process the file using batch processing functionality using any of the above three methods, FDM happily moves the file out of the OpenBatch folder and into a new folder, but the file is not loaded as it does not know where to map it to (as expected). However, there are no errors in Outbox\Logs\<username>.err to inform the user, so one is non the wiser that anything has gone wrong!
When using FDM Workbench, an error is displayed on the screen (POV - "Batch Completed With Errors, ( 1 ) Files Contained Errors"), but this is the only indication of any error. And normally, one would be scheduling the load using upsShell.exe or Hyperion FDM Task Manager anyway...
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I doing something wrong here? :-)Yes, as per my original post the only feedback on any POV errors appears to be when using the FDM Workbench Batch Processing GUI.
Regarding the "Batch Process Report in FDM" you mentioned, are you referring to Analysis | Timeline accessible via FDM web client? Unfortunately this does not appear to provide much in the way of detail or errors, only general events that occurred. I cannot locate any batch process report, other than the log output I defined when calling upsShell.exe. However, this contains no POV errors... -
Naming Convention document for MDM
Hi,
I am looking for naming convention document for MDM . If anyone have then please do share with me .
Thanks,
Rohit
[email protected]Rohit,
if you are speaking about programming, the naming convention depends from the language that you are using, e.g. for Java:
http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/html/CodeConventions.doc8.html
for abap:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/92/c2b084bc1d11d2958700a0c94260a5/content.htm
for rdbms:

Naming convention document...
Hi,
Can someone please send me a naming convention document for <b>Custom ABAP devlopment</b> and also for <b>Enterprise portals</b> on [email protected]
Thanks.
Regards,
Rajesh.Hi Rajesh,
It usually differs from company to company and client to client. If the client has no specific document then the company that implements will follow their own naming standards.
check if these are of any help to you..

We are trying to implement a process so that any document that needs to be printed through our Java application will be printed as PDF using Adobe Reader.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /T "\\<Application Server>\Report\<TEST.PDF>" "<Printer Name>".
Current Situation: The above command line parameter when executed is working as expected in a User's Workspace.
When executed in a command line on the Application Server, it is working as expected.
But, the same is not working while executing it from Deployed environment.
Software being used: 1. Adobe 11.0 enterprise version. 2. Webshpere Application Server 8.5.5.2.
