Any Embeded database for CLDC ?

Hi to all
Is there any standard embeded database for mobile phone application development. That embeded database can store in mobile itself. We can access this database using standard sql quires from MIDP. And also we cannot use HttpConnection and RMS Concept. We can write pure jdbc connection concept in CLDC application itself.
1. Embeded MySql support for this concept? If it support please provide the link for download and sampels codes.
2. Or suggess me can i use any other database for mobile without using a httpserver connection.
Thanks in advance,
Saravanan.K

Hi,
We are a startup mobile technology company. We have developed a complete relational database with SQL and JDBC support for J2ME platform. The CLDC 1.0 version is in beta testing and supports standard SQL including triggers. It is a small footprint database only 115 KB in size. It runs on any mobile which supports J2ME CLDC 1.0 / MIDP 1.0 or above. We also have a CLDC 1.1 database under development which will support support constraints like foreign key and check constraints. If you are interested in receiving a evaluation copy please email at [email protected]
Thanks

  • Open source, object-oriented embedded database for J2ME

For J2ME-based devices that require embedded data management, there is now an open source, object-oriented embedded database for J2ME called Perst Lite.
Perst Lite can be downloaded as part of the Perst open source embedded database package, at

  • What should I be using for an embedded database?

I'm still learning C# in the .NET environment and I'm currently working on a Windows desktop app. I've read that LocalDB can be used as an embedded database if I want to let other people buy any apps I make in the future. But I've also read that SQL Server
Compact Edition is what I should be using and those sources say that LocalDB isn't suitable for an app that's made so that other people can buy it. Which is correct? Is SQL Server Compact Edition still being developed by Microsoft?
I've got a laptop with 64 bit Windows. If I install a 64 bit version of the either of the above database software can I still make 32 bit database files for use as embedded databases for C# apps?
I'm interested in learning to make Windows desktop apps as well as Windows Store apps and apps for Windows tablets.
I've read about SQLite but I'm thinking either LocalDB or SQL Server Compact Edition would be more compatible with C# code. Am I right? I'm using Visual Studio Community 2013 on Windows 8.1.
I've read about the SQL Server Compact/SQLite Toolbox by ErikEJ
    Thanks

You cannot use SQL for a mobile application.
I would suggest using SQLLite and it is not very complicated to use with c#.
If you select 32-bit version of the database, you will not have compatibility issues. It will work for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
Even if you select SQL Lite you cannot use it both from mobile and desktop devices. You will face serious issues.
What I suggest is to have an online database and read from there to your local databases if you wanna use a database.
You can reach that database with web service(WEB API).

  • Does Weblogic has embedded database(not PointBase eval version)

I have developed an application that uses a database. Currently I deployed this on Websphere that has Cloudscape embedded database.
Now we are trying to deploy it on Weblogic. I want to know that does Weblogic provide any embedded database out-of-the-box. I know it comes with PointBase eval version to demonstrate its samples. But can we use/ship this eval version database for commercial product?

  • Logical Database for MM

    All,
I have a requirement to create a report having flexi selection criteria, means the selection criteria should be according to users requirenment. If you know any logical database for that then plz tell me.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Pooja Joshi.

    Sir,
In my report there should be a tab containing common fields which the user usually used for selection criteria and the user has to choose these field then these fields should appear on the selection screen as select options. These fields are from different tables of MM. then the same should be for output. only user selected field should be in output. Is there any logical database providing this functionality for mm like LDB PNP for hr master data ?
    Thanks.

  • Java ME embedded database used in BlackBerry for mobile CRM

Interested in business applications of Java ME mobile technology, or in embedded database systems available for Java ME?
If so, take a look at the news posted on McObject's 'Perst Blog'. Maximizer, a British Columbia company, has adopted the Perst Lite open source, object-oriented database for Java ME to integrate with its customer relationship management (CRM) software on BlackBerry devices.
What Maximizer gets from Perst Lite -- in addition to efficient data management and 'transparent persistence' for developers -- is support for the JSR 75
specification, which enables database files to be saved to SD cards within the BlackBerry smartphones.

Then I'd check the system drive, if it has problems.
To check your System drive boot into the Recovery Partition, see: OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
Restart your Mac and hold down the Command key and the R key (Command-R), and keep holding them until the Apple icon appears, indicating that your Mac is starting up.
You will see a panel, where you can use Disk Utility to check your System Drive.

  • Is there any corporate database available for Multisim12?

I'm trying Multisim12. Master database has a lot of components but I wonder there many simple and common ICs are missing while I have noticed that many of these components are readily available in Proteus etc.  I'm especially talking about CMOS 4000 Chips which are the building blocks of a medium level designs. Example includes CD40110, CD4063 etc. and a lot more. I don't meant to prove Multisim useless but just have to ask that:
    1. Is there any corporate database available that can be downloaded? or,
    2. Can I import Proteus components in to the Multisim?
Please help me.   Thanks and regards.

    Hello,
No we do not have a corporate database. The one you get has all the components available in Multisim (depends on the edition of course). CD40110 is a a simple decade counter right? You should find that under peripherals and indicators. The CD4063 is a comparator. You can find a 4 bit magnitude comparator in the CMOS section. These are the modls for simulation, if you want to create your own package and symbol you can (so you could potentially add CD40110 package to your schematic for routing purposes if you transfer your design to a layout tool). You could also create a component called CD4063 using the SPICE model from the CMOS comparator sections. I don't know what models Proteus uses, but if they are SPICE or PSPICE it should work.

  • Any Java API for dumping database?

As far as I know, the normal way to dump a database is to execute some command on the console.
Is there any Java API for dumping a database, so that the operation can be wrapped in the code?
The database system that I'm using is MySQL. Please help. Thanks!

By "dumping a database" I mean exporting data in the database into a text file, as a backup, that can be used when restoring the database. For example, in MySQL, I can run "mysqldump" on the command line to dump the database into a file.
So far I still have no idea how to do this using JDBC or any other Java API. Please help!

  • Any plug-in for multiple clients

Is there any plugin for multiple client access to a given environment?
    For example:
I have 50 clients to access the data on the server.
Should I do a layer of manual socket connection to handle the database reads and insertions?
Or is there a way to connect directly on the environment from clients to server?

It is unclear in your question what database you are talking about.   Berkeley DB is an embedded database and not a client server database.  It does not have a client plugin.
    thanks

  • ISV embedding database with one instance per server limitation

    Hi All,
As an ISV, it would be nice for Oracle to provide a better embedding solution than a silent install then having to script the creation of, or restore the database. Not because it's too complicated for an ISV to script, but purely for speed reasons. It's much faster to copy pre-loaded data files onto a machine than to create empty data files, load the data in, perform an analyze and any other scripts on the database. Dems just my thoughts.
However, my real issue is regarding the 'one instance per server' install limitation. As an ISV, if I choose to embed Oracle XE in my application - how can I 'guarantee' that my product can be installed on any given server. Picture this:
    - We submit a proposal/ tender for a license to our software.
    - Client, in conjunction with their IT dept adds internal costs, identifying servers that will run on, responsibilities, project plans (the whole works) etc.
    - Client gets signoff from their management and pays for license.
    - Client goes to install our software using Oracle XE just to find that another ISV has their software with Oracle XE embedded installed on the server.
    - Client either has to find/ buy another server, or we lose the license. Either way, client is unhappy.
Am I missing something here? Is anyone else anticipating this problem?
    Brad

    Hi Florin,
Thanks for the response.. a good suggestion and our schema would be < 1GB so size would hopefully not be a problem. However, as soon as we plug into another appliation's Oracle XE implementation - we've potentially lost control of the database and it loses it's "embedded" nature. Probably not a huge problem if it's an application independant implementation of Oracle XE by an IT person, but if it's another ISVs embedded database - the dramas could start.
We effectively put our user's database within the control of another application who may not have considered the possibility of our data residing there. eg. They could do a 'drop-all' and we lose our database. Or tune the database right down and our application suffers. Or the user uninstalls that application and it decides to automatically remove Oracle XE (after all, that ISV thought it was an embedded application, right?). Do you see the potential issues?
Perhaps Oracle XE isn't as attractive for ISVs as first thought... I guess at the heart of the issue is the fact that Oracle XE isn't really an embedded database. It's just a database you can [silently] install with your application and then becomes a general db on the machine.

  • "open project was cancelled or the application was unable to load database for..."

I'm doing a project for my Professional Writing course and I
have to use RoboHelp to create an online help document. The
professor provided templates for us to use but when I go to open
the project file I get the following error: "open project was
cancelled or the application was unable to load database
    for....(then the directory)"
I know the project file isn't corrupted because the members
of my class are using the same one without issue. I tried
re-downloading the file, I also re-installed the program itself,
still with no luck. I'm using a Trial Version of RoboHelp 6.0 .
The only other suggestions I have seen are that I don't have
edit perms for the system, but it's my personal laptop and I have
full admin privs. I thought at first that the folder was read-only,
but when I opened it up all it displays is the little green box in
the checkbox (which doesn't mean the folder is read-only, it's just
some stupid windows default, it's only read-only if the box is
actually checked). I tried making the entire directory read-only
and then turn it off but still get the same error.
    Any suggestions?

There's a topic on my site about Opening Projects that
includes the method of deleting the CPD and XPJ files but I didn't
cover that as the project is good for everyone else. Anything is
worth a try at the moment though.
Another thing to try is to rename the course folder, then
create a new folder with the same name plus all sub folders. Then
move the files across. That will ensure the folder properties are
good and not read only. Yes I know what you said but again anything
    is worth a try.
Also, in the last post you are saying the directory is not
read-only. I assume the files are all good?
Ref my previous post, is it the case that now you are getting
an error before the original error would have popped up?

  • I want to use Berkely database for my Dissertation

    Hello everyone,
I am having some doubts regarding Berkely database. Actually, I am using this database for my project. The scenario of the project is, I have developed some business rules depending on the concept of Ripple Down Rules and represented the rules using Conceptual graphs. Now I want to store fire these business rules in to the Berkely database, so that my application can use these business rules from the Berkeley database.
This is the context of my project. But, I am very new to this Berkely database. I have downloaded the Berkely database from the Oracle website and also installed it. The OS is am using is Windows XP SP2. Can anyone explain me how to store Conceptual graphs in a Berkely database.
I am really a beginner to Berkely database. i don't even know what to do after installing the Berkely database. Please advise me about this.
I would be very thankful to you.
    Cheers,
    Phani.

    Hi Phani,
The simple answer is however you want. Berkeley DB doesn't put any constraints on how you store data in it. Its main purpose is to provide an efficient and scalable key/value storage and retrieval system, upon which you can build your own data storage system.
More specifically, if you're representing graph data, the simplest way to do so is with the "edge list" paradigm. You could, for example, set up a pair of databases, one to store all your graph nodes (with associated metadata) and one for directed edges. I'm not sure what particular c structures you'll want to use for these, but I'd suggest using record numbers on both the nodes and the edges DBs, unless all your nodes have unique and meaningful names. I'd also allow duplicate records on your edges DB, and have a very simple record structure in it that simply maps from a source node id to a destination node it (the duplicates allow multiple edges from a given node.)
If you have more specific constraints on your graph and algorithms you'd like to run on it, there are potentially more schemes you could use, such as the nested set representation for trees, and so on.
    Hope this helps,
    Daniel
