I have raised an SR. I have provided them with error code, screen shots and log files.
They are suggesting me to do a fresh install of SOA. But I feel that is not the correct solution.
Now I can do that as i have only two processes running on the server.
Imagine If I have lof of processes running on the server. moreover I can't do it every time when i face this kind of errors on the PROD server.
Anyway thanks for your suggestion.
How long you have been working with oracle SOA suite?
Thanks
V Kumar

  • Windows Authentication using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver

    Hi,
I am using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver to connect to SQL Server 2000 database, can anyone tell me the connection URL for windows authentication. SQL authentication is working fine.
DataDirect has drivers for windows authentication but I am not using it.
    Regards
    Arup

You can't do it with the Microsoft driver. There's a free driver called jTDS that may be able to (I don't know).
(edit) Looking at their FAQ it looks like it does:

According to the Link, SET ROWCOUNT function has to be replaced with TOP keyword , but SET ROWCOUNT is still used in SQL Server 2008 R2 and its later versions according to microsoft :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188774.aspx
Can anyone help me in this regard. Thanks!
If you read further below there is a note mentioned as
Using SET ROWCOUNT will not affect DELETE, INSERT, and UPDATE statements in a future release of SQL Server. Avoid using SET ROWCOUNT with DELETE, INSERT, and UPDATE statements in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use it.
For a similar behavior, use the TOP syntax. For more information, see TOP (Transact-SQL).
MS cannot remove it completely knowing to fact that we are Lazy and will not immediately change our code :)

  • Does OBI SE1 work with SQL server 2005

Does anybody know if SQL Server 2005 can be used with OBIEE?
    Any responses would be appreciated.

Yes. Create a new database in the physical layer of the rpd and open the "Database" dropdown in the "Data source definition"...not the "SQL Server 2005" entry there.

  • How to install mini SAP in MS SQL Server 2005 Express?

Hi, is anyone know how to install the mini SAP v4.6 by using MS SQL Server 2005 Express?
I get error when connecting to the Database at 88% of the installation.
    Please help. Thank you.

I do not think you can install miniSAP 4.6D on MS SQL server 2005 express.
    1) you need the up todate patch to run on MSSE. If  SAP did the work to allow it to run, it would be patch 55+. As supplied it is patch zero.
    2) You can install on MSDE (MS SQL server 2000) patch 4. Look for my post INFO: Installing MiniSAP 4.6D on a named instance of MSDE (MS-SQL).
    3) after the install on MSDE SP4 you would have to change the database code page to 'BIN2' look for the OSS note.
    4) then you can start patching through to the most recent.
The main reason you cannot do this is MS have changed the version key format to include '.6' as extra info which SAP cannot interprate, too many dots.

  • How to enable high availability on SQL Server 2005 with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2

    Dear Folks,
I would like to ask you about this thing. I'm working for IT department for bank in Myanmar. Our bank have up to 96 branches across all of Myanmar including H.O. We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with Windows Server 2008 for our banking
information system. My main problem is having to backup and restore the database backup files every time the servers in branches goes down for whatever reasons. I want to deploy this feature of high availability and failover cluster using Windows Server 2008
and SQL Server 2005. Our branches have 2 Servers. One is for Primary and other is for Backup. What I want to do is that, I want to change Backup Server to Primary Server whenever the Primary Server goes down for whatever reasons. All the working data and databases
from Primary will immediately replicated into Backup Server along with all the IP information of Primary Server. Please give me step by step guide for this process.

    Try below
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cindygross/archive/2009/10/23/checklist-for-installing-sql-server-2005-as-a-clustered-instance.aspx
I will recommend you to upgrade SQL server to newer version for support as well as flexibility.

  • ODI 10.1.3.5 with SQL Server 2005

    Good afternoon,
We recently installed 10.1.3.5, in a Windows environment with SQL Server 2005 and Hyperion Essbase/Planning/HFM 11.1.1. We were following John Goodwin's infamous blog (thanks, John!), but ran into a number of snags.
For instance, when we set-up interfaces with flat files as the source, loading metadata either to Planning or Essbase, ODI errors out when:
    1) our header name in the flat file has spaces (using double quotes didn't work)
    2) our header name in the flat file is different than the reverse property name from Essbase/Planning.
Also, we're now seeing an issue in our Flat file to Essbase metadata interface where the SQL used in the IKM seems to be incorrect. Below is the error message we're receiving:
    "org.apache.bsf.BSFException: exception from Jython:
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<string>", line 20, in ?
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements,
look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Add a name or single space as the alias name."
We are thinking that the culprit may be either the wrong .jar or .jre we're using with SQL Server 2005, as there seem to be inherent issues with the SQL generated in the LKM and IKM. Our questions to you:
    1. What sqljdbc.jar driver version are you using?
    2. What .jre version are you using?
    3. What environment does the above work correctly in? (perhaps an earlier version of ODI against an earlier version of Hyperion?)
FYI - We have tried sqljdbc 1.0 and 2.0, with .jre 1.6.0_10.
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much for responding!
After a 2 week battle, we are now finally coming to a close on our issues (although we cannot say for sure what all of the causes were).
Here is what we discovered about our questions, through other threads:
    1. John Goodwin was using JRE 1.6.x, so we ruled that out as a culprit.
    2. Others are using SQL Server 2005 just fine with ODI, so we ruled this out too. We chose to keep the sqljdbc 2.0 driver.
Here are some issues we did uncover during our investigation:
    1. We were having issues with our agent, specifically regarding the HFM technology. We created a new one, added a few extra parameters, compiled the agent, and are now back up and running. We realized the problem when we switched to "Local (No Agent)" and saw that we were not having as many issues.
    2. We went into the physical agent and pressed "Update Scheduling". We do not know if this had any effect, but we suddenly noticed that our flat file header issues were resolved.
    3. The Essbase issue was due to a configuration error with our Hyperion Essbase physical technology. We went into that technology and changed a setting on the "Languages" tab, called "Object Delimiter". It had double-quotes in it - we removed that parameter and instantly saw a change in the SQL being executed.
    4. Some of the mappings in our interfaces needed to be executed on different environments. i.e. - We needed to switch to "staging" when the flat file header was different than the target column name. Newbie mistake - we thought ODI had built-in intelligence to choose correctly for us.
    5. When doing a reverse on Essbase models, we noticed that the Essbase columns would populate with an "Undefined" datatype, instead of the expected CHAR. We have to manually define all column datatypes after every Essbase reverse now. Must be a bug.
    6. We also noticed when doing a flat file reverse that all columns auto-populate with datatype STRING, length 50. We have to manually personalize that option for different Hyperion applications, based on need. i.e. - some require numeric datatypes, or smaller/larger lengths. This was obviously a newbie error. :)
Thank you for your tip on the MS SS2005 JDBC drivers - we will look into your other options - IMHO, JTDS, etc.

  • SQL Server 2005 SSAS connect to BI possible?

    Hi there,
I have tested the new .Net Data Provider 1.0 for SAP Netweaver BI in SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS). What I am wondering is that could SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS) connect to SAP BI, too? How to do this?
    Best Regardly

    Dear Tom,
You can use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) for this connection or through XML for Analysis (XML/A) (an XML standard for Online Analytical Processing - OLAP) it can be done. But I am not sure weather this service is available or not as SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, which is now certified to run reports on SAP BW.
As I have never ventured in this, I would suggest you to use documentations of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) and SSAS given by MS.
Also have a look at this doc:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver

    Hi
how can i use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver to coonect to db???

    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver is a SQL Server 2000 class.
Also the port setting in the connection url jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:<port> is not 1433 as in SQL Server 2000.
In the connection URL, <port> is obtained from the SQL Server configuration Manager. When the SQL Server 2005 is restarted the port number changes.
To obtain the <port> in the SQL Server Configuration Manager select the node SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration>Protocols. Right-click on TCP/IP node and select Properties. Select the IP Addresses tab. In IP ALL the TCP Dynamic Ports specifies the <port> value.

H.If you have the Java objects and the mapping (either in .hbm.xml or annotations) you can use the <property name="hbm2ddl.auto">create</property> in your hibernate.cfg.xml to have Hibernate generate the schema for you.
But, as jschell implies, one way or the other you have to end up with tables.

  • Issue with migration DB from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 11.2 using SQL Developer Migration workbench

    Hi,
We face an issue while migrating an SQL Server 2005 DB to Oracle 11.2.  It fails during the process.  I hope someone on the forum has seen this before and can give us some advice.
I use the latest version of SQL Developer with JRE included (3.2.20.09).  The JDBC driver to connect to SQL Server 2005 is 1.2.0
Here are the steps we take in the Migration Workbench wizard:
I made an online extract of the SQL Server database.
Using the workbench in SQL Developer I created a migration repository in schema PDM_MIGRATION.
Next I start the migration, it captures the tables fine, but immediately after the start of the conversion I get a failed message without further explanations.
This is the content of the error xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252" standalone="no"?>

Does anybody know what this error means and what steps we should take to continue the migration?
    I see the PDM_MIGRATION.MIGR_FILTER is a type.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kris

    Hi Wolfgang,
    Thanks for your reply.
This is how the type MIGR_FILTER looks like:
    create or replace
    TYPE MIGR_FILTER IS OBJECT (
      FILTER_TYPE INTEGER, -- Filter Types are 0-> ALL, 1->NAMELIST, 2->WHERE CLAUSE, 3->OBJECTID LIST
      OBJTYPE VARCHAR2(40),
      OBJECTIDS OBJECTIDLIST,
      NAMES NAMELIST,
      WHERECLAUSE VARCHAR2(1000));
I think the repository user has the correct privileges.  This is the overview of privileges it has:
    SQL> select * from dba_sys_privs where GRANTEE in ('PDM_MIGRATION') order by GRANTEE;
    GRANTEE PRIVILEGE ADM
    PDM_MIGRATION ALTER SESSION NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE CLUSTER NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE DATABASE LINK NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE PROCEDURE NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE SEQUENCE NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE SESSION NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE SYNONYM NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE TABLE NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE TRIGGER NO
    PDM_MIGRATION CREATE VIEW NO
    PDM_MIGRATION UNLIMITED TABLESPACE NO
    SQL> select * from dba_role_privs where GRANTEE in ('PDM_MIGRATION') order by GRANTEE;
    GRANTEE GRANTED_ROLE ADM DEF
    PDM_MIGRATION CONNECT NO  YES
    PDM_MIGRATION RESOURCE NO  YES
    Best regards,
    Kris
