Anychart 5.1.2 Integration with APEX

Hi,
I bought Anychart 5.1.2 with Maps. Now, they have pointed me to a webpage where I can down load a Zip file that contains a bunch of png, swf, xml files. How do I integrate this with APEX? What are the steps..

Can XML Publisher 5.6.3(EBS) be integrated with APEX?

On the following document, XMP Publisher 5.6.2 does not support integration with APEX. May I know about 5.6.3? Or is it about the product being an add-on with EBS causing the non-support to integration(meaning, even 5.6.3 is not supported)?

APEX integrates with the standalone version of BI Publisher. There was not a server component with the standalone 5.6.3 release. The integration relies on publisher providing a servlet for APEX to communicate with, 5.6.3 does not have this.
If you are talking 5.6.3 under EBS then I guess you could build a servlet on the mid tier that called the BIP conversion APIs - it would all be custom work.
The APEX integration needs 10.1.3.2 BIP to work with out of the box.

Web based reporting engine integrated with APEX

I would like to use some completely web-based reporting solution for my application. My idea is that I will create some datasource, prepare database query and publish some data columns to end users (datamodel). They will choose from many of prepared data areas, create their own report using some intuitive web-based report designer and save it. I do not need it for any analytic purposes, no dynamic filters, graphs and other widgets, no BI. It will be all only about building text based reports with few dynamic fields (customer address, actual date etc..).
For example: User will prepare some document (template) with few paragraphs and add some of prepared dynamic fields into it (ie. company name, customer address, repeating table with list of employees, some image). Then he will be able to generate same document for many customers etc..
I am looking for some simple, user friendly web based application. Some external report builder for example for Jasper reports is not what I am looking for.
I will need to integrate it with Oracle 11g XE with APEX 4.2 so some API or URL parameters is must.
Used reporting engine does not be completely free, but I am able to pay max. $5000 for it

This could be a solution for APEX reports (interactive reports). But I want to create more complex reports, not only table based reports.
I need to create for example invoice report with some dynamic fields (customer, invoice items...), another report can be for example some contract about cooperation with some dynamic fields (contract number, personal information ...).
These reports will be mostly only text based without any table. See example bellow. How would you generate this kind of letter?

Where CUSTOMER_NAME a PRODUCT_NAME are prepared fields (from some database tables). It will be something very similar to Microsoft Word automatic mailings. User can generate many text based reports and save them as PDF.

Integration with other flash chart product

Hi,
I am currently working on an APEX site development that utilize flash charts in some reports. However, the AnyChart product that is integrated with APEX is not sufficient in achieving the layout we desire.
My supervisor is interested in another flash chart product called "FusionCharts". I would like to ask where would I find manual / instructions on how to create new components or alter the existing flash chart component in APEX so that FusionCharts can be used instead of the existing AnyChart.
If anyone can share their integration experience of another flash chart product with APEX, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Nelson,
You can't replace the current Anychart with FusionChart, but you can upgrade to a newer version of Anychart if you want.
If you want to integrate FusionCharts, you add javascript and a flash file to your page and provide xml (for ex from a process) to it. I believe Scott Spendolini had these steps in his presentation of ODTUG, which you can download from that site.

Problem in Integration of Apex with R12

Hello,
I followed the paper apex-ebs-extension-white-paper-345780.pdf to do Integration of Apex with R12. but stuck on one step.
I am done with all the steps in R12. Now if i click the menu in R12, its going to my existing Apex aplication but still asking username and password.
Can anyone help me out in what exactly I need to change in Apex Authentication scheme in Apex. Right now I am using Authentication scheme as Application Express.

Online file storage with access control and file manager integrated to APEX website

I have APEX 4.2 website with few user accounts. I would like to share approximately 100 GB of documents to users. Some documents will be public (in some public folder) and everyone with account in my website will be able to download that public files. And some files/folders will be with restricted access and only user with appropriate credentials will be able to download it.
I would like to find some cheap cloud file storage.
Some storage that offers plugin/component = file manager that will be integrated to my APEX website and authentication will be transparent to my users (authentication with some API or URL). Every user will see only his files. I want some ready to use component and call only minimum API.
I would like to integrate that storage to my website or call some user specific URL and redirect my user to some page with file manager.
All files will be read only for all users.

what will you be using for your file manager? Or do you even know yet?
I do not have tons of experience but if I had to come up with a solution I would build the interface with APEX and use the database to store the files inside so you can control access.
You can create a procedure that takes in parameters like username, session id, encrypted session id from the browser cookie and either return the file or give the user an error message letting them know they arent authorized. You could use plugins to give the users a better file managing experience like the 'multiple file upload' plugin that allows AJAX based multiple file uploading.
Id put this on an amazon EC2 cloud micro instance. It's uber cheap.

Integration of apex with other applications

hi all,
i'm planning on integrating my apex application to a .net express application.. since some of my screens will use webforms and some will use winforms.. to state the obvious, i will use apex for my webforms and .net for my winforms.
what i want to do is that when i login to apex, i will also be automatically logged in to the .net app whenver i open one of its forms and vice versa.
i did some reading that apex uses wwv_flow_custom_auth_std package and it executes wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login after successful authentication? is this right? anyways, what i don't know is how apex checks if a user is logged in so that i can probably have my .net app do the same thing.
any thoughts?

This procedure, aka "the login api" causes the steps defined in the application's authentication scheme to be followed. It's usually called from the login page and accepts the username, password, session ID and some other information as input. One of the steps in an authentication scheme is credentials verification. Normally, if this optional step succeeds, the session is then registered, i.e., the authenticated username and the current session ID are recorded in the sessions table and a cookie is sent to the browser to be used for session management for the duration of the session. Then the indicated after-login page is redirected to. This is one way to structure an authentication scheme. Another is to use the code often referred to here as the "ntlm page sentry". You can find this is you search a bit. This method causes the user's authenticated status (and identity) to be obtained from the environment, e.g., from headers set by Windows NTLM. So really an application can do authentication and session management any way the developer chooses. It's completely flexible.
...anyways, what i don't know is how apex checks if a user is logged inApplication Express doesn't know or care if a user is logged in. Your application can check for this in whatever way you see fit. One way is to compare the value of APP_USER with a known list of unauthenticated users, e.g., APEX_PUBLIC_USER, ANONYMOUS, and nobody.

APEX integration with EBS R12.1.1 - no SSO

I am trying to complete APEX integration with EBS R12.1.1 in simplest way. I have a non authenticated report page that I need to link to through a menu and function on one of the existing forms.

offers the jsp approach which I like to implement however the jsp will not compile correctly and I am not sure why - I have already fond one error with the code as listed in the document:

Integrating Oracle APPS with APEX using popay_apex package...

I am a newbie in APEX and tried to explore it only a few months back...
I must admit that this tool is Awesome..!!!

My question is,
I have created an Online Leave Application (OLA) in APEX which should retrieve the username from EBS Login and display the leave information of that particular user.
I have created the OLA in APEX and registered it in EBS as a form function and also attached it to a user responsibility.
When I run the form thru the EBS Responsibility logged in as a EBS user, the OLA Application opens in a new window...
But,
The username is retrieved as APPS instead of the user's login info.
because of this retrieval the global variable :APP_USER is storing the username as APPS and all my internal references with :APP_USER has been erroring with "NO DATA FOUND", since there is no user login as APPS.
Is there any way to overcome this bottleneck...?
Or Do I need to add any code in the APEX >Application >Security > VPD

Can Oracle Application Express (APEX) be integrated with ADF applications?

Oracle Application Express (APEX) works on various supported databases. Can this tool be integrated with ADF for report publishing, in adf some of my result is coming from Business Components , so can these things be related to each other?

There are a couple of things you can do - a lot depends on what your application needs. Since you ask this in the JDeveloper forum, I'm going to address getting to ApEx from ADF, not to ADF from ApEx - but some of the same possibilities apply.
Easiest thing to do is to jump into the ApEx application with a af:goLink or af:goCommand referencing the needed page's URL. By setting the target, you can control whether it opens in a new window or the same window. I'm not currently using ApEx, but I have a few reports written as PL/SQL Server Pages that I call exactly this way.
You can also open the ApEx pages in an af:inlineFrame - and it will look like it is inside your ADF application - but use inline frames with a little caution - they don't work perfectly in all browsers, notably Mobile Safari.
ApEx can't look inside your ADF BC objects, but of course, if your two applications are using the same database, you can communicate between them within the database. One possibility to look at is Advanced Queuing.
Some ApEx functionality can be executed by executing the underlying PL/SQL procedures - do a search in this forum for how to call PL/SQL from an ADF BC Application Module.

AnyChart Radar chart with APEX

I need to create Apex application that requires page to display radar chart, combined chart (bar & line). I understand that those charts are not come with APEX 4.1.0 (my APEX version). I look at AnyChart product since I see people talked in Oracle Forums. I would like to know if someone who has used AnyChart product creates radar / polar charts in APEX can give me any suggestion. My current environment is
Apex 4.1.0, oracle 11g and a browser is IE 8.
The company that I work for doesn’t have any plan to upgrade IE version. So I have limited tools to work with. On AnyChart web site, it shows radar chart in Flash, HTML5, and XML code. I can see the chart in Flash and XML code ok. I don’t know how radar chart will work in APEX and IE 8. Any helped explanation would be appreciated.

We can combine both line and bar chart in apex.
Try by doing the following,
1.Create the chart region with the chart type as 3D Column.
2.Then parse the query that you want to show in chart(it will select the series type as bar by default).
eg. select null link,ename, sal from emp; 3.Create the second series by editing the chart attributes.
4.select the series type as line. Then parse the query that you want to combine with the above bar chart.
eg. select null link,ename, avg(sal) over() avg_sal from emp; By this way we can combine the charts by adding the series,Check whether this is your requirement.

Problems with integrating YUI Layout Manager with APEX

I have a problem about the YUI Layout Manager and APEX.

But with Internet Explorer the page is damaged.

I want to integrate OBIEE with APEX, In the OBIEE Application, i have created a cookie for username and passing it in the apex applicatin,while running the apex application, I will get the username , it has to check for the user from a table and if valid, the application should open,
without asking for any authentication.
Could i achieve that........? IF so please help me out with some suggestions

Gantt Charts with APEX

Hello
Has anybody managed to integrate Gantt Charts with APEX and got them working. I'm required to provide some similar reports.
I understand Gantt charts are available in AnyCharts 5 but I need the XML to convert or at least a How To Do document.
Any any other ideas would be appreciated.
