Anyone else getting the runaround on iPhone 6 delivery dates?

Based on the other responses in this forum, I see that I'm not the only one with this issue. I normally love Verizon and encourage others to become Verizon customers, but not anymore. I called Verizon and pre-ordered my iPhone 6 on 9/16, after confirming - twice - that it would ship on 9/19. I went to the website 9/22 to find tracking information, and I could not find anything about the order online. I opened a chat session and called the toll-free number at the same time. Both the chat representative and the person on the phone told me that I had been given the wrong information and that my phone wouldn't ship until 10/3. After expressing my displeasure at that, the phone rep told me that she would upgrade my shipping to Fed Ex overnight at no extra charge. I thought that was a nice gesture. She gave me a Fed Ex "tracking number". I went back into the website 10/6 because I was surprised that I had not received my phone, and the order status appeared online. It confirmed the 10/3 shipping date, and showed that my order was "in process". I once again called and opened a chat session at the same time to find out more about the status. At that point, the chat representative told me that she couldn't help me at all unless I provided her a piece of information that I did not have (I hadn't had that info the previous time that the chat representative HAD been able to help me). The phone representative then told me that the 10/3 date was wrong - despite what I was told and what showed online - and that the phone would ship 10/7. She told me that the number I was given as a tracking number was not anything, and it was not even the correct number of characters to be a tracking number. She also told me that I would receive an email on 10/7 letting me know that the phone had shipped. Which brings us to today.
When I looked online for the order status, it was once again completely gone. I captured a screen shot of the order screen yesterday, and I sent that and today's screen shot in to a representative who had given me his email address. He did not respond. I called in to find out the order status, and the representative I talked to said that his information also showed that the phone was supposed to have shipped on 10/3, but he couldn't find the status of my order anywhere in the system. He told me that he would keep checking to see what he could find, but he did not know what had happened. I asked him to contact me as soon as possible in the morning once he had more information.
At this point, I don't even know what to think. If Verizon had set my expectations properly at the outset, all of this could have been avoided. This post isn't actually a question, but I definitely feel better now.
Good luck out there to anyone else facing this horrible first-world problem!

I guess if the wires were hanging loose and sagging for some reason they would be a hazard and need to be fixed. Not saying to do anything, and be extremely careful if power lines are near by or involved.
If they are in front of a window they could be hazardous during a fire rescue attempt. Have them moved. If they refuse, contact the local fire department and explain your concern.

Roofers knocked the wires at my house so they're in front of a window.  They still work fine, they're just ugly.  So I called Verizon to see if they could move them, offered to pay for the service if necessary.
'Travis' told me he had to tell the local office they're a hazard to get someone to come out.  I said they aren't a hazard, they're just ugly.  He replied, that's fine, it's just what we tell them.
So he goes ahead with scheduling an appointment.  After 20 minues on the phone, I ask him what' happens when a repair tech comes out and sees there's no hazard, won't they be aggravated and leave?  He says, of course, they won't even take the ladder off the truck.  Q:  What's the point of scheduling an appointment, then?  A: We have to tell them there's a hazard or the techs won't come out. Q:  So will they do anything?  A: No, not if there's no hazard. Q: So why would I want to waste my time waiting for an appointment when the tech will just turn around an leave?  A: That's how we do it.   It went on a lot longer than that, but you get the picture.
So, is Travis sup par, or is this Verizon's standard operating procedure?

  • Is anyone else having problems with an iPhone 6 delivery date changing on them?

I sat up until 12:01am to pre order (2) iPhone 6's and (2) iPhone 6 +'s and they had a delivery date of 9/19 for both of the phones at the time I logged on to Verizon's preorder site. The system would not allow me to log in as an existing customer but it would allow me to order as a new customer. I kept trying to order new phones as an existing customer on two different computers and three different browsers without any luck. I finally decided to order them as a new customer and the order went right through the Verizon system without any problem. Two minutes later I received an email from Verizon requesting that I call them as soon as possible to complete the order. I called in and spoke to a rep that explained that I already was an existing customer and that I would need to use the "Existing Customer" preorder link. I explained the issues I was having and she said that I would still need to use that system when it was available. So I tried the existing customer link and it now let me through but the date for the iPhone 6 plus had slipped to 10/7 (It is now 1:30 am). I completed the transaction and it stated 9/19 delivery for iPhone 6 and 10/7 for the iPhone Plus. However once I received the email confirmation it stated that the delivery date for the phones was 10/7. I called Verizon customer service and stated my concern about the later delivery date for the iPhone 6 and they told me that the iPhone 6's would arrive on the 19th and the pluses would arrive on 10/7 so I did not change my order. This morning 9/19 8:00am I called in to inquire about my shipping confirmation numbers for the (2) iPhone 6's and the customer service rep (Robanya) told me that he would call me back at 1:00pm PST and give me the shipping confirmation numbers. He asked specifically which phone number he should call me back on and I gave him my cell number. After not receiving a call back from Robanya, I called Verizon customer service at 5:30pm and spoke Ryan James and he confirmed that the orders were placed on the 12th of Sept and that one system showed all of them due to be delivered 10/7. After insisting that Robanya that I spoke with earlier in the day said they were shipping today, Ryan got off the phone for 5-10 mins and then got back on and said that the iPhone 6's shipped yesterday on the 18th but he did not have a confirmation number. After pressing him that someone should have this confirmation number in Verizon he stated that the delivery dates were subject to change and that all the phones would probably ship on 10/7 and left it at that.
So after loosing sleep to pre order phones on Verizon, speaking with (3) different Verizon reps, I am rewarded by having my delivery date changed to 10/7 on my iPhone 6's which is the same delivery date they were quoting yesterday 9/18.
Did any one else have the same disappointing experience that I had?

Yes, pre-ordered iPhone 6 with a guaranteed delivery date of 19 September; took screen shots after the order just to have record of it.
Called Verizon 18 Sept because I hadn't received a tracking number yet, and was informed my phone would now ship 7 October.  When I expressed that was different than what was promised and had proof, a manager came on the phone and confirmed that I should have a 19 Sept delivery date based on their records.  She told me however she could not confirm when my order would ship.
19 Sept came and went with no phone delivery.  I have tried calling Verizon, posting here, and posting on their FB page for customer service.  Every rep I talked to (except for the first manager on 18 Sept) has been unable to admit that they mislabeled their product sales page, and mislead the customer.  One rep told me the guaranteed delivery date was an "estimate"; when I asked her to show me on the website where it uses the term "estimate", she admitted it didn't communicate that, but still was unable to utter the words "we made a mistake".
VZW needs to take a 101 class in customer service and crises management; rule #1 is if you screw up, admit it!  I know I am not going to get my iPhone as promised, but pretending like there is nothing wrong with that customer service experience is just making things worse. Not a single employee I have communicated with to date has attempted to do anything proactive to correct or mitigate the customer failure.  I am truly amazed at how poorly VZW has been handling this to date; again (removed) happens with supply/demand, website errors, etc, but the failure to acknowledge how the screw up shafted a lot of (formally) loyal long time customers is criminal.

  • Is anyone else getting the " itunes encountered a problem and needs to close " message on xp

is anyone else getting the " itunes encountered a problem and needs to close " message on windows XP

I did get a "server busy" message when I loaded quicktime, but I'm not sure if it is related or not since I've been seeing that over the last couple of days, I can't remember if it came before iTunes stopped working or not. That message reads "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'switch to' to activate the busy program and correct the problem." My options then are to choose switch to or retry. When I press "switch to" my Start menu opens, and nothing appears to happen when I select retry.
that's an odd sort of a message (or series of messages).
hmmmmm. let's try an experiment aimed at working out if there's a program interfering with the QuickTime (which is in turn causing grief with your iTunes).
try a selective startup using MSCONFIG, with just the itunes and QuickTime background processes enabled, as per the following document:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
does QT open without the strange message after the selective startup?
    does iTunes launch properly?

  • Is anyone else getting the error "Service Temporarily Unavailable?"

I am trying to manage our schools iTunesU site and have been unable to login since Wednesday, September 4, 2013.  Is anyone else running into this with their sitemanager?  Our course manager logins work and students can access the content, we just cannot manage the domain.

    Hi macschur,
I am experiencing the same issue when trying to login to the iTunes U Site Manager. I get the error message "Service temporarily unavailable." Other administrators are have the same problem trying to access our site form different network locations.
I have reported the issue to iTunes U Support and received a response per e-mail with 12 hours. They provided me with some simple troubleshooting advice like resetting Safari and emptying the caches but that did not resolve the issue. After my second mail to Apple I was tol that the isse had been escalated to a Specialist Team. I am  waiting for a response.

  • Does anyone else get the error message :iCloud has unexpectedly stopped"?

I am visiting South Africa and realy heavily on access to my iCloud. For the past 48 hours iCloud seems to be down and I keep getting the error message "icloud has unexpectedly stopped". Apple has not acknowledged the problem, yet. Does anyone else experience similar issues? Any suggestions on how to access icloud.com?

I'm having the same problem on my wife's computer. I successfully joined several shared calendars from my account, and suddenly started getting this message on the last one. I've tried again repeatedly over the last 24 hours, including sending a new invitation, logging her out of iCloud website, etc.
Did you find any resolution to the problem?

  • Anyone else getting the BLACK screen of death after Kitkat 4.4 update?

Ever since the update, my phone is wacked, like everyone elses.  I got my Samsung Galaxy S4 a month ago.  Beautiful, loved it.  Update happens: I want to pitch this thing as far as I can throw it.
The phone rings.  I go to answer it but all I have is a BLACK SCREEN which is LOCKED.  I have the lock on the screen, but if the screen is black, you can't see it - and you can't answer the phone!    One day, I got a message, and could not get to that.  Why?  the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH.
Someone told me to turn off Samsung Watch On and that has helped with some of the issues.  But I still get the screen occasionally, and my battery life is GONE.
How do we get rid of this update?   Should I just call Verizon and get a new phone with the OLD software?  I hate this.  I feel like I was the victim of bait and switch.

ltg123 - did you resolve the problem yet?  If so, let me know how.
My (hopefully temporary) solution was to turn off my "Lock Screen" ... to do this, go to Settings, My Device, Lock Screen ... and select None.
The only issue is that you would no longer have any security for your phone and would be vulnerable to someone stealing your phone and having full access to whatever is on your phone that does not require a separate id and password.  Dangerous, yes ... but, for me right now, it's better than not having any access to my own phone!
The Android update simply sucks ... some heads should roll for allowing such a crappy update to get (no pun intended) rolled out.

My iPod Touch 4 repeatedly gets the iPod too hot message, even when the device and ambient temp are both cool.  Shuts itself off.  Ugh!
Is this a warranty issue or is there a fix?

  • Anyone else have Apple miss a guaranteed Christmas delivery date?

Anyone else order an iPad 2 for a Christmas present, with a guaranteed deliver date by Christmas and Apple delivers on the 27th?

I certainly understand your disappointment, but the fact remains that there is nothing that you can do about it. It is out of your hands and out of Apple's hands as well. I had young children at one point - many years ago - and in order to not run into this type of situation, I would purchase those "hot and hard to get your hands on" purchases in early Novemebr or as soon as they became available on the market.
I can't tell what Apple's guarantee means exactly but I would have to assume that this guaranteed delivery could only mean under any circumstances that they can control. FedEx has the guaranteed overnight delivery - if you are willing to pay for it - but if the plane crashes that your package is being transported on - what good is the guarantee in that case? I can telll you what the guarantee is in that case - you don't have to pay for the delivery - that is all that it means.
No company can guarantee anything that might is beyond their control. Once again, I do understand your disappointment and that the child will be disappointed as well, But consider it a lesson learned and move on. You can go back and forth until the cows come home discussing "what the guarantee means" but it will not help your situation at all.

  • Anyone else get the server encountered an error processing registration

Just got a new iMac out of the box to use facetime with grandchildren. Keep gtting "the server encountered an error processing registration" try again later....
    What gives?

    David,
Yes, I recall getting that message also, and was confused by it.  However, when I looked in my e-mail, i found a message from apple asking me to CONFIRM my e-mail address, which I did.  After that, the only thing I had to do was to enter the phone numbers or e-mail addresses to my account and everything worked like a charm.
As christelline said, you do need to set the time automatically, which is also a part of the imac setup process, as I recall.
I did find the Facetime setup to be a bit "shaky," because Apple does not walk you through it.  Stick with it because Facetime is a great tool -- my wife and I find that communicating with our kids and grandkids using FT is almost like having them in our home.
    Best of Luck, Wuz
