Anyone know of a way to find out if files are missing in my iTunes proactively?

I know that the circle with the ! shows up if a file is missing, but is there a way to run a diagnostic to find out if files are missing vs. just trying to play each and every song?  I have over 6000 songs and want to verify they are all there.  Any help would be appreciated.

One way to identify the broken links in your library is to create this set of playlists:
Lost & Found playlists
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
Or use iTunes Folder Watch and enable its option to check for dead tracks on startup.

  • Does anyone know if there's any way to find out what files in my Library

Does anyone know if there's any way to find out what files in my Library I can delete? I just cleaned off my HD onto a media drive as a back up so all my movies documents and photos are gone but my Library seems to be a huge space hog eating sixty gigs of space and I do have alot of apps but they don't take up a third of that space... Any ideas how I can figure out what is wasting all this space? I had Spring Cleaning once but found it to be rather confusing as to what was essential to the OS and what not...
    Thanks,
    Matt

Get free OmniDisk Sweeper. I can't imagine how you could have sixty GB in that folder. My entire ~Library isn't even 1GB. Are you sure you're not talking about your entire Home folder?
Can you post a screenshot of the contents of that folder.
Check again. Are you sure you moved all the Movies etc. out? Could have left duplicates of everything behind when you did this.

  • Is there a way to find out where iMessages are being sent from? I've received messages from an unknown email that are offensive and considered to be harassment.

Is there a way to find out where iMessages are coming from? I've contacted security personnel at my school and I'm brig harassed. I just want it to stop.

'''Here is an update to my former response.'''
Here is a safe way to look at an email which you think is suspicious:
    * right click on the message and select 'Save As'
    * the file name will be the email subject followed by an extension of .eml
    * store it in a folder you can find easily, such as your Documents
    * using your file explorer, right click on the file name and open it with Notepad or a similar text editor (NOT Thunderbird!)
    * even though the format is not easy to read, you should be able to see who sent it to you, and also read the message text.
Since you are looking at the message in a text editor, there is no chance a link can activate something bad. I have used this method many times, and have found several spoofs of email names of my friends.

  • HT1420 how do I find out what computers are authorized on my itunes account?

How do I find out what computers are authorized on my itunes account? I want to add my MBP to my itunes account but I can't because I already have 5 computers authorized BUT I can't remember what computers I had authorized.  I'm assuming iPhones count as computers in this instance.
    Thanks

I'm not aware that you can see a list anywhere - and no, iPhones (nor iPads or iPods) count, only computers do (but a computer could count more than once e.g. if you've updated or reinstalled the OS without first deauthorising it).
If you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

  • Way to find out of there are pending updates

Is there a way in Oracle 8.1.6 to find out if there are any uncomitted inserts, updates, or deletes on the current transaction?
I do not need to know what they are, only if there are any at all.
    WHY?
I have a piece of architecture in my client that runs on a timer and will sometimes perform updates. I want to skip the timer code if there are any pending updates so that the timer's updates do not get intermixed with updates from the main application.
I tried putting the updates into a package function that used an autonomous transaction, but when it got into production the DBAs complained that the database was generating strange errors that they were told are dangerous, and I had to turn off this functionality.
    Thanks for your help,

Chris, there is not any method to see if row are locked before you try to access then so on an 8.1.6 version you could change your routine to use a select for update. If the cursor returns one of the requested rows is waiting on a commit. You can trap the error that indicates a row is in use, rollback, sleep, and then try again.
The problem with this is a select for update must retrieve all the rows before you can process any of them so unless the target set is small this may not be practical. Also you can commit only at the end.
You could select all the target rows in a cursor then perform a select for update on each row. With error trapping this would allow you to skip pending rows.
Just some ideas for you to consider.

  • Is there a way to find out which transactions are called by first transacti

I'm trying to find out if there is a way to find out for ex:
You go to PFCG and put in transaction CO15
What other transactions is CO15 going to need or call.
    Thanks
    Joe

In your test or QA environment, use ST01 to start a trace for authorization checks.  Execute CO15 as you normally would using options on the screen to enter the production order confirmation.  Once complete, stop the trace and review the log.  the log will include all authority checks that occurred.
Another response was to use the USOBT table.  You can call these tables directly using SU24.  the check maintain entries are validate when an authority check is executed.

  • Mac Air 11" - how do I find out what files are showing up in "About this MAC" Storage "other" category?

Hi - I am having storage trouble with my storage.  When I go into About this Mac, Storage, the category "Other" has a very large amount of gigs stored.  I have already dumped my email, downloads when in to Trahs, emptied secure trash, etc.  How do I find out what is included in the "other" category?

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste (command-V) into the Terminal window. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Finding out what fonts are missing

    Hi,
I have just installed Fireworks and opened a firework file sent from our designers, when I opened it I was told that there are some missing fonts that i do now have installed. So now all text defaults to arial.
Is there a way that I can find out what these fonts are? Or am I going to have to contact the designers.
    Cheers
    Stephen

Close the file and open it again. When you are prompted to Maintain Appearance or Replace fonts, cvhoose Replace fonts. FW will open a new dialog box containing a list of the missing fonts, plus those you might want to replace them with. You can exit this box without making any changes.

  • HT5624 Does anyone know or can help me find out a way that I can figure out what my security questions are? I need to know ASAP!

I really need to know my security questions and I can't remember them! It won't let me purchase anything on iTunes. I need to get some songs because I am DJing the school dance but I have no way to buy any more! Please help.

Click here for information. If the option to have the answers emailed to you isn't available or doesn't work(the email may take a few hours to arrive), contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in that article.

  • Does anyone know of a way to export a .gfx file from the FCP 7 timeline? If not, do you know of a plug-in or even a stand alone video converter that will accomplish this? I can convert FROM gfx, but cannot convert TO gfx. Thanks.

Having a problem with files that are exported from FCP and delivered to Master Control. They are then
transcoded to .gfx by Rhozet software for air as a .gfx in Grass valley's K-2's. Any help would
    be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks neuroanatomist. That was really helpful, but when I went in and looked in my SMS folder, I opened it under notepad and it was all garbled and hard to read. It didn't look like in my iphone of indicating conversations between me and another person. I could see my conversations, but they where all mixed in with numbers and weird characters I've never seen before. You wouldn't happen to know of another program out there that can put it perhaps like in a word doc. or even excel sheet? Something that's just organized. Thanks.
Anyone else care to help me out with some mac community friendly advice? Thanks!

  • How do you find out which files are not authorized?

All of a sudden, out of the blue, I start getting this message :
Some of the Audible files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod “iPod” because you are not authorized to play them on this computer.
Well first of all - all of the music I've bought in the last 4 years have come from iTunes so why this comes up now all of a sudden is beyond me.
    Computer hasn't changed.
Same old iPod touch (1st gen) I've been using for several years now. The last time I tried to sync it was probably a few weeks ago (with no problems).
I thought I'd look to see if say the past 10 songs I've purchased are on the iPod (which goes back several months)... they are.
So I thought - ok let's see if I get a problem syncing my iPhone and my iPad. Nope - no problems there.
    I'm stumped.
It would be nice if I could even get a list of the files it claims can't be synced to the iPod, that would be a good starting point to diagnose the problem, but I can't figure out even how to get that.
    Help!

    PunkStar Studios wrote:
Some of the Audible files ...
if you're seeing that error, it has nothing to do with purchased content from the iTunes store.
Audible is an online store that sells Audiobooks. The audiobooks purchased from Audibooks work the same way as the songs purchased from iTunes. You can only play the audiobooks on a limited number of computers.

  • Is there a way of finding out what lists in sharepoint are being looked up for document templates etc

    Hi,
I am currently in the middle of setting up SharePoint sites and have come across many lists that have not been updated for a while. I am wondering is there a way of finding out what lists are being used and what lists aren't being used for example I would
like to find out if a list is being used for a look up.

    J Burns

I don't think there any such option available OOTB, however you can use PowerShell to get such information e.g.
    $web = Get-SPWeb http://localhost
    $f = $web.Lists["Contact"].Fields["Customer"]
    $f.ListsFieldUsedIn()
    $web.Dispose()
    Check this link: http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/45574/is-a-list-being-used-as-a-lookup-for-some-web-part-in-the-site-collection

  • 11.1.2- Need to find out what reports are being executed by a user

    Hi,
We have financial reports executed from workspace. In essbase session , only the user id is displayed and the Request type- mdxreport is displayed. We also tried searching the log for Financial report didnt find anything relevant.
Is there a way to find out what reports are being executed by the user.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Saumya

STAT will give you the information for a limited period of time and is limited to the server which you are logged onto yourself. Beyond 24 hours it is of even less use even if you change the selection screen values.
If you want it for a period way back into the past, then you need to use ST03N.
There are at least 2 dependencies and 1 confusion:
1 dependency) The length of period is determined by the size (length) of the file. You can change this in ST03N (default 50MB) via the menu settings.
2 dependency) The stat collector jobs need to be scheduled to write the information to ST03N (once per hour is a legal requirement in some non-banana republic countries).
1 confusion) There is an obscure function which converts a report submit to a transaction name (there is not much difference anyway) and an even more obsure one which filters what ST03N will record and therefore whether you can read it. You can (un)filter these things away if you search the SAP Marketplace for the term "MONI".
What is of particular value from this control is that you can even detect a submission of an abap which only existed temporarily.
Also note that having this information is potentially very powerfull with respect to the users (some of them are human too), so you should expose and use it responsibly.
You should also ensure that only responsible users / auditors have access to S_TOOLS_EX.
