Anyone worked with the LIN interface/protocol?
This is my first post in the forums. I've been avidly reading the
posts here for a few months now and look forward to the day I can
contribute. Meanwhile, I'm seeking some additional knowledge from
all you experts out there.
I've completed the design concept for a series of test systems that
includes a LIN interface. Currently, I've selected a PXI board
from Goepel. You'll find Goepel's 3072 listed here on NI's
website. I am looking at the 3080 which is a combo CAN/LIN
interface. It comes with LabView support. I've also found a
LIN interface from Pickering. I've also found circuitry to bridge
RS232 to LIN, but this is only a physical layer conversion. I'd
end up developing the whole protocol if I went that route.
My question is this. Are there alternatives that anyone is aware
of? It seems such overkill to drop a $2500 board in the system
just for a simple protocol conversion. Seems like someone out
there would have dealt with this...

I have some doubt's on LIN.
1. Master Node has sent a header for which two nodes have responded simultaneously. So there is a collision. Now master resolves this by giving priority to one of the nodes by sending unconditional frames individually to the nodes.
Doubt is when there a collision how slaves stop behave? As per slave state machine there is a read back and so one of the node should pull back the transmission. Then what about the other node which has succeeded in transmission?
If error is handled in a master how this works… how above error is handled?
How synchronization works?
How slave decides the identifier after getting synchronized with master? Mainly how without a clock only with Tbit period that it has got from sync?

Yeah, unfortunately I am coming to the same conclusion.
This is the entire response I received for "instructions"
There are two projects: "fire_text_project" and "fire_text_project_plugin". The first once does not require any plugin because one particle effect is pre-rendred. If you have trapcode particular then you can use the second project and modify it.
Finally you can create a realistic fire text in after effects!
It took me a week to do the 3d fire simulation and render out all the 26 letters on fire. This is a very realistic fire thats simulated using advanced 3d software. The video is 621 x 720 px and it is 7 seconds long. All the letters has the color video and the black and white (alpha) video. You can use the alpha matte to create a tranpsarent background for the colored video. That's is how it is done in the two example comps included in the project. You will have to understand that the letters are video so it is not as easy as typing the letters using text tool to edit the text. Open the "1st text Example comp 1" comp and it has marker that explains in detail on how to edit it.
The two included comps are "Example_comp 1" and "Example_comp 2". These are great examples of what you can do with fire text but the possiblity is endless.You can create many interesting comps with these text on fire. Just to let you know the text that is rendered in 3d app is Arial Black.
Think I am going to have no choice but to simply cancel the sale and look for something else.

I have bought this product from him and have been just destroyed trying to use it.
There are literally no instructions with the purchase and I am weak with AE.

Working with the line item table in CAF application service

I am trying to retrive a value from the Nested list of one of my application service.
for example, suppose i have 2 operations in a application service, 1, calls the BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL1 based on the PO number given it returns the POItem, POServices tables.
2, operation accepts itemno and PO number as a input, and inside calls the 1st operation and wants deal with the POItem and POServices tables which of type standard BAPI classes nested under the main structure created in application service.
For example, i want to compare the item number given as input with the item numbers in the Item table, which is a output of 1st operation .
How to get the itemnumber from the POItem table, as this is a nested structure under POOut(defined in AS level) and how to compare this.
i have written the code as follows but it is returning the error. Can any look into this and suggest me.

Presonus interfaces - do they work with the latest Macs?
A few months ago there was much discussion as to the causes of some F/W 400 interfaces not working with the latest F/W 800 only Maca. Something to do with a particular chipset, I believe. There's a firmware update on Presonus' website: can anyone tell me if this resolves the issue, and if so, should it be OK to run a firewire hard drive off the same port?

Richard Vernon.I have the Inspire, and there doesn't seem to be a firmware update. The issue with the Firewire chipset exists, it doesn't send enough power to the Inspire so it won't sync with the computer. I can only get around it by daisy-chaining the Inspire through an externally powered FW harddisk (which I unmount as soon as the Inspire is synced).

The apple store is so unhelpful. I have an iMac computer operating on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I want to upgrade to the latest Mountain Lion operating system so I can work with the iCloud on my computer and download my emails. I can't seem to purchase this on-line as it keeps telling me to go to the app store. I haven't got the app store on my computer as I am told I need iCloud for which I need the new operating system, which I can't download or purchase as I am sent back to an instruction telling mee to go to the app store icon.
How difficult can it be to simply purchase the software on-line have it shipped to you so you can install it, in the event it cannot be downloaded as it appears it can't be based on my curent operating systems being Mac OSX 10.5.8.Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'

Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from download, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
Rebooting phone/laptop/router
Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
Re-installing iTunes
Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

Has anyone had problems with the latest Lexmark printer driver update? My Lexmark printers won't work with the latest driver update. If I reinstall an older version of the drivers, they work.
Mine crashed once with new update, but working fine.
I had to delete old printer, restart iMac, and then reinstall

What power line adapters work with the Simpler Net...
I currently use the provided Simpler Networks power line adapters, one plugged into my HH3 and the other for my BT Vision box. I want to also connect my desktop PC to the HH suing a power line adapter. Which ones will work with the ones I already have?
As a side note, do I need to buy another pair, or will all three talk to each other, and know to use the one connected to the HH as the way to the internet?
Thanks in advanceIf a powerline adapter is plugged into HH ports 1,2,3 you can get no more than 100 Mbps they are only Fast Ethernet ports and cannot go any faster.
You would be better with Gigabit switches, Cat5e ethernet cables and a theoretical maximum of 1000 Mbps which you only DONT get when there is an ethernet packet collision, and only connecting via HH3 or HH4 port 4 the GigE port
If you put a fast ethernet switch in the wrong place you will only get 100 Mbps across it. -

Does anyone have SSL working with the Sun Java System App Server PE?
We have been having problems (to say the least) getting SSL to work with the Sun Java Application Server 8.1 Platform Edition.
We have a signed certificate from VeriSign and have it imported correctly, but when you test it by going to https://localhost:8182/ (note that 8182 is the port set up for SSL) you get a warning mesage saying that the certificate cannot be verified. When you view the certificate you see that it is the one that got automatically generated for you by the app server and not the one we purchased from VeriSign.
So, I was just wondering if anyone out there has gotten this to work and if so, what document did you follow to tell yoiu how it was done!

I keep getting an error -1 when I try to load it in Logic pro. I tried emailing iZotope about this but never got any response. Any help would be appreciated.

Logic Pro 7.4.7
Mac OS X 10.4.7Vinyl 1.7.3 loaded and ran fine on my system. Try removing the AU and any supporting files and receipts and re-installing Vinyl again.
And, yes, Vinyl is UB (don't know what possessed a13 to ponder otherwise).

Please can anyone help with the continuing password rejection problem with email on my imac.My Ipad and other systems work fine but despite reloading my password on imac it bounces back.Apple store has been visited and I have tried everything they suggest.
I use free Yahoo mail webMail access because folders I created in webmail access doesn't get set up in Apple Mail. While I was searching for post about password and keychain issues, I stumbled on several threads that complain about Mail folder issues, so I'm holding off on Apple Mail.
On the password and keychain issue that your post is all about. I've been using login keychain to save and automatical fill my login screens for a year or so successfully, with Safari and Chrome. Automatic form fill also works for Facebook login. Unfortunately, about 4 to 6 months ago, automatic password form fill stopped working with Yahoo webmail, while still worked for GMail (Safari and Chrome). I tried deleting the password entry for my two Yahoo email accounts to start fresh, but neither Safari not Chrome will even ask me if I want to save the password. I was so frustrated that I eventually installed the keypassX 0.43 (password manager) that is quite primitive sompare to OS X's keychain (when it works). Probably no surprise to you yet.
The surprise, to me at least, is that, for whatever reason, password auto form-fill from keychain started working again for Yahoo webmail login on Safari about 5-7 days ago. Still doesn't work on Chrome!
Two tips I can share, at least with webmail access:
1. Password is save only for one of my yahoo mail accounts. When I login in with my other yahoo account, I get no prompt to save the password, and form fill doesn't work when I try to log in a second time with my other Yahoo mail account.
2. On inspection of my login keychain, I see a webform password item saved for my Yahoo account that works with keychain. The name of the password is: login.yahoo.com(MyAccountName1#). When I open the password item and look in the Access Control tab, I see Safari and Chome are listed as allowed to access this password item..
I also an "Internet password" item with a name of just login.yahoo.com. When I open the the password item, it looks just like the password item created for MyAccountName#1, but the MyAccountName#2 is listed in the Account field. Inside the Access Control tab, no apps are listed in access permission. I added Safari and Chrome to the lists of allowed app, saved the password item.
Now when I bring up the Yahoo login page(by bookmark) on Safari, form fill fills in MyAccountname#1 for name and the proper password and I can login in. When I change the name to MyAccountName#2, the correct password is retrieved and I can log in! Alas, it still doesn't work on Chrome.
BTW, I changed the password item type from "Internet password" to "Web Form password" and saw no difference! I also edited the name to be "login.yahoo.com (MyAccountName#2)" to look like the web form password item that works, but it has no effect either.
From my experimentation, here's my observation:
1. A Web Form password item is created for the first account name(MyAccountName#1) for login.yahoo.com and typed as Web Form password. When I log in using MyAccountName#2, an Internet Password is created, but no applications are listed as allowed to access the password item, even when the password item was created after just logged in and logged out to yahoo with the account name and password for MyAccountName#2.
2. Manually adding Safari as an app that is allowed to use the password item works. Doesn't work with Chrome!
The version of Safari I'm using is Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). My installed version of Chrome is Version 21.0.1180.79 beta.
