APEX 4.0 : parametrize a sequence of display of the saved IR's

APEX 4.0
From an interactive report (IR), we saved several public IR’s (with various choices of column, sort, group by, …). When the user wants to choose a saved IR, APEX presents a list of the saved IR’s like this presentation :
1. xxxxxx
2. xxxxxx
3. xxxxxx
4. xxxxxx
For this list, how to parametrize a sequence of display of the saved IR’s (a logical sequence for the user) ?
Thank you for your help.

Hi "user12045065" (please change your forum handler),
what does APP_USER show for you? Is it the same for all users?
I'm not sure if I fully understood your sentence "in Apex I use no authentication and have a function validate the user logon".
Does that mean you are NOT using a "custom authentication scheme" for that? If you answer that question with yes, how should APEX be able to distinguish the different users? And I still don't understand why you don't use it, because also with a "custom authentication scheme" you can redirect the user to the page he is privileged for.

• Image not displaying in the Task Sequence Wizard. SCCM2012

This is my question, so I will post the link here.
http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/925727-image-not-displaying-in-the-task-sequence-wizard-sccm2012
Bryan
I captured an image from a PC that I am preparing to be deployed with Office 365. Once I captured
the image, I went to the software library to add the operating system image. That seemed to go on without any issue, but when I look at the summary, I see the big yellow globe saying "in progress" it has not changed since yesterday afternoon.
I then created the task sequence for this image
to be deployed under Software Library, Task Sequences. When I selected the references tab, everything seemed to be in order with the exception of the "operating system image" under type. It was/is showing 0.0% Compliance.

So, the problem described in the other forum post does not match the title of this thread. Are you trying to address two different things? These are unrelated btw.
For the issue in the other thread, you'll have to troubleshoot your content distribution to the selected DP. The distmgr.log and pkgxfermgr.log (assuming you chose to distribute the image to a DP directly attached to your primary site) are the places to
start and will show you exactly what's going on.
As for the title of this thread, we'll need a lot more info to help you there.
Finally, I would suggest you copy your questions from other sources into the thread -- this will help other folks in the future that may stumble upon this thread and will prevent any confusion.

• Apex 2.2 - Correct Broken html code displaying ( " /html" ) due to data

Yes. We are running version 2.2. Apex 4.0 isn't an option right now.
French characters are causing the broken code "</html" to display at the bottom of the page
when the data is pulled from the database.
I have tested the page with non-french characters and the broken code does not appear.
The region is a sql query updateable report region. The query is a straight forward query, just
pulling whatever is sitting in the columns.
The primary language for this page and all pages in the application is English.
How does one get around this display error?
Thank You

This is frequently caused by failing to meet APEX installation and configuration requirements. Ensure the DAD character set is AL32UTF8 and the correct version of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit is used.
The DAD may be at the location indicated in the documentation link below, or it may be somewhere else depending on the local configuration. The PL/SQL Web Toolkit can be checked using the query select owa_util.get_version from dual in the SQL Workshop.

• Can one clip in a sequence have "display first field" and another one "display both fields"?

Is it possible that one clip in a sequence will have "display first field" and another one
"display both fields"?
My problem is that I have a split screen. One part is a clip of still
image with text and the text is seen good with "both fields" and a
little bit blurred with "first field". The second part is a PAL clip
and it is seen bad with "both" and good with "first".
The pixel-ratio is 1.094 for both clips. Playback resolution is "full".

I have an Eizo calibrated monitor.
Hooked up how? If in use as the main computer monitor, no this isn't sufficient. You need a real TV or production monitor connected via HDMI, component, S-video or the like, so that it displays only the video signal and no part of the Desktop.
(And if you're working in interlaced, it really needs to be a CRT that can properly display an interlaced signal.)

• How many items can be displayed on the same line in APEX form?

Hello,
I have 5 items that I want to display on the same line in a form, but the fifth item is displaying on the next line eventhough I defined it as "no" in Begin On New Line and "no" in ...Field. Is there a limmitted number of items that can be display on the same line? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks so much in advance.
I want the 5 items to be display like this,
Appendix1 _____ 2 _____ 3 _____ 4 _____ 5 _____
But it is displaying,
Appendix1 _____ 2 _____ 3 _____ 4_____ 5
Thank you,
MT

If you define the 'Begin On New Line' property to 'No', it should work. I just tested it. Do you absolutely need to set the 'Begin On New Field' property to 'No'? That might change the facts.

• SAP Fields not getting displayed on the BDT screen

Hello Gurus,
I am trying to add 2 custom fields on to the claims management screen. The following steps were followed to add 2 fields on to the claims Management subclaim screen.
1. Create a field group Zxxxxx1 with the two fields attached to it as input enabled.
2. Create a View Zxxxxx2 attach the created field group Zxxxxx1, then create a subscreen screen add two fields to the screen and make them as input enabled. Then attached the subscreen to the View.
3. Create a PBO and PAI function modules for the screen and attach it to the View Zxxxxx2.
4. Create a section Zxxxxx3 and attach the view Zxxxxx2 to the section.
5. Attach the section to the Subclaim Overview Screen.
6. Inspite of doing all the above steps the screen is not getting displayed or the Function module PAI / PBO / FMOD is not being called.
Since I am attaching the section to a standard screen sequence I am not doing any modification to the screen sequence and screen sequence catagory.
Kindly let me know the steps I am missing in the configration of 2 new fields via BDT.
Reagrds,
Shiva

Hi Shiva,
did you create your own Z BDT application? Is it set to be active?
I have no access to any claims management system: Does the claim object support divisibility? If so, have you assigned the correct data set in your view?
Also, if you have your own Z BDT application and the claim object does support divisibility, did you assign the Z application to the divisibility view?

• Report Column Attributes Does Not Display All the Column Names

Good Morning,
I have an interactive query Select * from table_name. I have to select * since my query returns well over 32k. I have 162 columns in the query. On the screen, all the columns are displayed; however, on the report tab, only about half of the columns are displayed. The rest are cut off. I need to be able to go into these field's attributes. Is this an APEX bug, or am I just missing something.
Regards,
Kelly

Hello Tony,
I can't break them out because APEX is limited to one interactive report per page. There is need to be able to do computations on the data, which interactive reports allows. The data is all statistical.

Kelly

• Images in wwv_flow_file_objects$ do not display in the shared components

Recently I needed to re-create an APEX workspace. The schema was intact, so I just created a new APEX workspace mapped to that schema and re-imported my apps.
All was well EXCEPT that the images and files (e.g. style sheets) previously uploaded to the database under the original workspace were missing. Looking at the wwv_flow_file_objects$ table I saw the images and files were present but their security ID did not match that of the new APEX workspace.
I updated the security ID and the files and images now work BUT THEY DO NOT DISPLAY IN THE SHARED COMPONENT LISTINGS. My fear is that I'll try to upload an image or file by the same name and they'll stop working because there will then be two rows in wwv_flow_file_objects$ with the same file name and security ID.
Does anyone know how to get these items to display properly in the shared component reports?

If they were application-specific, you would need to ensure that the new flow_id value in the table matched that of the application to which the file should be associated. If not, that value should be zero.

• What is the keyboard shortcut to sleep display on the Macbook Air?

On my Macbook Pro it's ctrl-shift-eject. There is no eject button on the Macbook Air so what is it?
Yes I know about Hot Corners. Yes I know you can turn the brightness right down. I want the keyboard shortcut.

Sorry for being a Johnny-Come-Lately to this thread, but I just found it.
I do not like using a Hot Corner (alone) because it is too easy to inadvertently sleep the screen by random movement of the the cursor. However, there is a solution....
You can add a "modifier key" (e.g., the "Command" key) to the hot corner sequence so that moving the cursor to the chosen hot corner does NOT sleep the screen unless you also push and hold the modifier key.
To add a modifier key, open "System Preferences", go to "Desktop & Screen Saver", choose the "Screen Saver" tab, and click on "Hot Corners…". Open the dropdown for the corner you prefer. Before clicking "Put Display to Sleep" hold down the Command key (or another modifier key*) and then click "Put Display to Sleep".
Voilà! Now the display will sleep only if you hold down the Command key before moving the cursor to the chosen Hot Corner.
*I believe the only modifier keys available for this are Shift, Control, Option and Command -- you can use any one of them or combinations.

• Displaying all the records in a tabular form on a single page

Hello,
After setting up a data entry page, I have hit an unexpected problem.
The logic in my page requires that all the records in my tabular form should be displayed .
The tabular form is based on a collection, and the user selects rows through a checkbox.
Any reload of the page due to pagination will break the logic, as some calculation and display events occur during page load,
based on the previous page.
I need to display about 25 rows.
I have changed the report attribute to display 50 rows, but it displays rows only up to the bottom of the screen,
i.e. 11 rows.
Unfortunately I only just added some new rows and saw this behaviour else I would not have gone that way,
as I expected APEX to display all rows if required.
Some help will be much appreciated.

For this change to be instantly visible, either log out, restart the brower, and log in again, or manually re-request the page from the browser address bar, adding 'RP' in the ClearCache position in the URL.

• HTML tags displayed with the text in "Notification" area

We want to display an HTML formatted message in the "notification" area, but the HTML tags are being escaped and thus are displayed along with the text. We are using Application Express 2.2.1.00.04. The application has been handed off to us to support and we have no experience with APEX. So I hope I am explaining this correctly.
The process to display the message is as follows:
After submission, a page validation fires, which is of type "function returns boolean": "return some_function('P100_MESSAGE',2nd_arg);".
In "Error Message" is "&P100_MESSAGE."
The function returns true when the validation is successful. When validation fails, it returns false, setting 'P100_MESSAGE' to some error message - for example: "<li>Phone number is not numeric</li><li>Email address is not valid</li>".
Our template has this in the body definition:
#NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE##SUCCESS_MESSAGE##BOX_BODY#
As I understand it, #NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE# will be replaced with the value of 'P100_MESSAGE'.
I've displayed 'P100_MESSAGE' on my page to confirm its contents and it is rendered correctly with bullets. But the notification area does not show bullets. It displays the text and the HTML tags.
Is there anything obvious we can do to fix this problem? Thanks

I 've changed P100_MESSAGE to text field, text field (disabled, saves state), text field (disabled, does not save state), and textarea, display as text, etc. It is originally set to Hidden type (because it is only to be displayed in the notification area). But changing it to various types makes no difference as to how it is displayed in the notification area. Of course, when it's not hidden, then it's also displayed on the page, among to other page elements, which is not acceptable.
Thanks-

• Sequence of messages in the message area

Hello,
does anyone knows how to influence the sequence of messages?
While appending messages to the message manager with flag is_permant = abap_true the new message is appended below existing messages.
I would like to get the the new message displayed above the old message.
any ideas?

Hi Martin,
Using the paramter msg_index we can set the index of the message we raise.
I raised 2 messages with msg_index as 1, first I raised message text 'Error1' and later message 'Error2'.
In the Window Error2 message is displayed first(top) and the Error1 is displayed below it.

• Display instantly the length of the text entered in the rich text editor

Hi everybody,
I'm developing an apex application with apex 4.1.1 and Oracle 11.2.
I have a page in which I have a form that allows to create a new message on the database.
A message has a title, description, text and date.
For the text I use the item "rich editor text". The problem is that item doesn't show the length of characters entered (character counter for the textarea). In the database the corresponding column is varchar2(2000). What I do is a validation after submit that checks if the limit 2000 was exceeded or not.
But what I want to do more is to display instantly the length of the text entered in the editor. I have tried to do that through a dynamic action. But the event "onChange" for the item "rich text editor" didn't work.
Has anyone any idea about that issue?
Thanks for helping.
Kind regards,
Edited by: Khadija Khalfallah on Apr 25, 2013 4:06 AM

sorry about that, I missed that tidbit in your OP... well I think there is a good reason why there isn't a count character option -- due to the hidden "html" characters responsible for the "richness" (bold/color, etc) applied to the text would be difficult to count true characters.. if I was bent on doing this, I'd continue using the item you are using, but have a HIDDEN text area that is updated via javascript onkeyup for each keystroke (again, keeping in mind you'd have to filter certain keys) and then that intelligence could be used. I would probably dig through the javascript responsible for the rich text editor (is it still fckeditor??) -- there might already be code in there that isn't clearly visible to you that does this already.. alas, I see now the validity of your challenge.

• Cannot display all the columns

Hi
I am having this weird problem , i gave some selected columns in my select query and data displayed with the given conditions perfectly then i added some more columns , around 30 coloumns to my select query(initially i just tested by selecting 6-10 columns names) , and my report does not display data for all the columns , its just displaying the data for columns i previously selected , do i need to do something to get all the columns, is there a limit in Apex that report should display only fixed number of columns ?or do i need to refresh any where in order to adapt the changes i have made in my select query ?
i have logout and logged in , but it did'nt work..
Could any body please let me know what could be the reason for this?
Thank you

Just found out that the other columns were selected as Not Display in report in actions ->select columns...

• Grid Layout - Getting two or more fields to display on the same line/row.

I am using version 4.2.
I have a form with a number of items.
I wish to control the display of the items so that some fields are beside each other (on the same line or row).
I have set the grid layout as follows:
:PX_ITEM1
Start New Row: Yes
Column: Automatic
Column Span: Automatic
:PX_ITEM2
Start New Row: No
Column: Automatic
New Column: Yes
Column Span: Automatic
When I do this the items are not displayed on the same row.
I can see when you change the "Start New Row" from No to Yes, the item fields ARE moved into the same
that controls the row, but they just aren't displaying how I would like them.
Has anyone got this working?
Amanda.

Hi Amanda,
I believe I have discovered the cause of the issue you are facing.
The problem is with the "Alert Region" region template and that it does not have any display points specified so indicate the number of grids that can fit in its region body. Without having any display points, the grid layout system attempts to use all columns available to its container. However, because the Alert Region has additional padding within, the columns will not fit and wrap to the next line.
To fix this issue, you will have to modify the "Alert Region" region template, go to "Display Points" and click Add Row. You will need to enter the following fields:
Name: Region Body
Template Substitution: BODY
Grid Support: Checked
Maximum Fixed Grid Columns: -1
This will fix the issue for you. I've logged a bug within our bug system to track this so we can fix it in a future release of APEX.
Best,
Shakeeb
