Apex and fusion charts

Hi,
I am using Apex with fusion charts and can easly create a one series Charts,
how can I create 2 or Multiple series Charts?

Hi,
Creating multi-series chart using FusionCharts would be as easy as creating a single series chart.
All you need to do is - build and provide proper XML to the correct chart swf files. Like for each single series chart there is a separate SWF file, for each multiseries chart there is a separate SWF file. e.g. for Multi-series Column3D chart you need to use MSColumn3D.swf.

You can get XML samples from multi-seires charts from our Gallery -http://www.fusioncharts.com/Gallery/Data/MSCol3D1.xml etc.

APEX - iPhone friendly charts and templates

Hi gurus,
We are using iphones and ipad and apex and it seems that they are having some difficulties to work together. In fact we have found two main problems:
* Chart wizards of APEX are flash based and apple solutions doesn't work with flash. The alternative is to use the poor html based chart... do we have a third solution?
* It seems that is not easy to develop an application that automatically fits iphone/ipad screen, do you have any advice/experience regarding this?

Alternative to linked alternative, Google visualization API; Roel did make a plugin for the API - see: http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/region-plugin/google-visualizations_29.html ; i havent tested on iphone/ipad, but install it, give it a go, see if you like it, use it ;-)

APEX and BI Publisher - chart not displayed in html

Hi All,
I have created a report using BI Publisher and created a report query and uploaded the RTF template into APEX. The report contains a chart then a table.
When I run the report in HTML format the chart is not rendered, but the table is. The browser seems to show the page as loading for a very long time, but nothing seems to happen.
If I run the report in PDF the report is rendered correctly. Also in the BI Publisher Word plugin I can preview the report in HTML ok.
I'm using APEX 3.1.2, BI Publisher 10.1.3.4
Any ideas?

Hello,
Remember that Apex and BI Publisher are different products (they just "play" very nicely together).
Apex has the possibility to create SVG and Flash charts, SVG charts were great because they were very flexible, however Adobe has announced their discontinued support for the SVG plugin that some browsers need to display the SVG charts.
So moving forward, use Flash Charts instead, as most browsers already have Flash player plugins installed.
I'm guessing the reason your SVG chart isn't displaying in the browser is because you haven't installed the SVG plugin in your browser.
If you have a lot of SVG charts already in your applications, fear not! There is a simple SVG->Flash migration wizard you can use (look on the right hand side of the page when you edit your Chart region, and also in the Shared Components section if you want to migrate a lot of them). If you use these wizards Apex will automagically convert your SVG chart regions to Flash chart regions.

How to embedd Fusion Charts with XML files in java? Please help me.......

Hi....iam trying to display Fusion Charts. Iam using Hibernate to bring data from database.
what i want to do is to put data on xml, once my xml gets dynamic data from database, then it will be clubbed with swf files(fusion charts) to show graphs such as line charts,etc.
I know wat to do. But big Question is how to do ?
am i right in my Logic ?

Your approach seems to be right.
Get the data using hibernate into your struts action ( if you are using struts ).
Set the xml and any other property as request attribute.
Embed the chart in JSP, by including FusionChartsRenderer.jsp ( found in download package ) and passing xml ( got from request attribute ) and other values as parameters to it.
Please check the FusionCharts forum for some discussions on Struts, JSP implementation. ( /forum - you could use the search feature available there )
Please refer to the documentation of FusionCharts as well. ( /docs )

Help with Fusion Charts

We just installed Fusion Charts on our server and I was told to start using that instead of cfchart.
Where can I find documentation, similar to cf docs, that explains all the commands and gives examples. I searched the web and cannot seem to find what I am looking for. Does anybody have a good website to look at ?
Also, does fusion charts completely replace cfchart, or does cfchart call the fusion charts commands ? I am completely new to this and was wondering can somebody show me an example of how fusion chart works ?

Can you tell the steps to create FlashIsland application for fusion charts. I need a help. I need to show simple one bar chart with
some static data( no need to come from backend).
These are the my steps:
1) created new flex application (chart.mxml).
2) copied FusionChart.swc file into lib folder.(Downloaded trail version from flex site).
3) Uploaded WDIslandLibrary30 ,WDIslandLibrary30-debug in to flex application .
4)Created some chartdata collection array with some values.
4) drageed the component into flex appliction and setted attributes.
5) builded it and uploded into Flashisland appliction.
6) Running appliction application .
But it showing blank page.

Comparision between Fusion Charts & Business Graphics

hi,
I need to show data in a graphical layout.
I am not sure whether to use <i>Business Graphics</i> or <i>Fusion Charts</i>
Is there any help doc or link which can provide me with the details about these two, their pros & cons, their prerequisites such as system requirements, ease of usage(from the end user as well as the developer point of view),etc
I have used business graphics, and as a developer, it is sure easy to use.
However, i would like to know more about both of them.

Apex 4 Combined chart with multiple y axis

Hi
I am trying to create a Combined Line chart & Bar chart using Multiple y-axis
ie Line chart using one y-axis and Bar chart using another y-axis.
In Apex 4 so for i am able to to create Combined chart by adding 2 series.. but i am unable to specify y-axis for each.
Can any one help me how i can do this.

Is there a way to interface Labview Web GUI with Fusion Charts for dynamic web presentation?

I have a ballistics program which our clients can use (see attached). Basically there is a series of Cascading Combo boxes that the user must select for Bullet Manufacturer, Caliber, and Bullet ID. The program then goes out to the relevant data file (.CSV) and provides ballistic inputs for the selected projectile. The user is also required to enter in additional data, such as Sight Height, LOS Range, Temp, etc.. Once all data is input, the user either hits the Calculate Button or the Tab (I'm using Event Structures and I now realize this is an issue for Web UI Builder), and the data gets passed to a MathScript which then crunches numbers and spits output to fill a table and a series of Graphs based upon the tablulated data (if so desired).
I was hoping to use Labivew for the first two parts ( Data Collection and Number Crunching) and use something like Fusion Charts for the presentation. I tried learning Ruby on Rails. I was successful with the Ruby part (basically the Mathscript portion) but really got hung up on the Rails section and the need for something like JSON to interface with it. Could not find a useful source of information which really showed you how to combine the two effectively.

How to create a Power View bringing barchart and line chart together in same graph

We are planning to create power view report that has bar and line charts on same graph. Could you please let us know whether it is feasible in Power View & how to add trend line in power view .

This is not possible with Power View. It is possible with Power BI (Online at PowerBI.com) See image below.

Can you run Boot Camp and Fusion at the same time?

Hi,
I had boot camp installed on my mac pro and loved it. I decided to get greedy and install Fusion using the boot camp partition. The Fusion install went ok but then Microsoft started to get fussy. Every time I would do something on Fusion it would ask me to "Re-activate Windows" when I logged into boot camp. Maybe if I saw Fusion fully working I wouldn't want to run boot camp any more but I think I want to have the option to run either. Right now I only have 1 gig real memory on my mac pro and Fusion seems a little slow compared to native boot camp. Can I run both boot camp and fusion without having to buy two native copies of Windows XP pro? I don't want a "sensible" answer, I want an answer that takes into account how Microsoft treats this re-activation situation.
I guess Leopard might make this all obsolete, but until then .....

You need to make sure to install VMware Tools into your virtual machine (while booted into Windows via Fusion). Once you do this you shouldn't have to continually activate Windows when going back and forth from Boot Camp to Fusion. I've seen this discussed over on the VMware Fusion discussion boards, so you may want to look there for more details.
Also, if Windows starts telling you it's been activated too many times, you can call Microsoft and they'll give you an alternate activation key. The phone number is listed on the Windows error screen. I had to do it and they were very accommodating. I just told them I was running Windows in a virtual machine, and there were almost no questions asked.
You don't need to buy 2 copies of Windows to run both Boot Camp and VMFusion.

I am not able to access the "featured" and "top charts" in the app store

I am not able to access the "featured" and "top charts" icons in the app store. Everything else works fine.

Here I am using Java Type IV for database
connection.
So,there was no necessity of creating DNS.How your app communicates with db shouldn't matter for the end user. Still, you may want to use a functional network name also for the thin client driver connection string.
So,is there any other way to solve this problem.What is the problem really? Do you not use dns for network naming? Maybe you have to manage the hosts file on every client then.

Create PDF report with APEX and Oracle 11g doesn't work

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the downloading of PDF reports from APEX with Oracle 11g.
When I try to download a PDF, Acrobat Reader says it can not open the file.
I have done the same test in an environment with APEX and Oracle 10g and it works perfectly.
Does anyone know if there is a known bug for version 11g.

Well, as a very crude test you can set your authentication scheme to be Application Express Authenticationand define some users in Apex. Then create a before header login process on the login page (101) to automatically logon containing:
apex_authentication.login(
p_username => :P101_USERNAME,
p_password => :P101_PASSWORD );
:P101_PASSWORD := NULL;conditional on P101_PASSWORD is not null.
Then you can login by specifying your username and password in the URL e.g.
f?p=YOURAPP:LOGIN:::::P101_USERNAME,P101_PASSWORD:username,password

I don't think you can do that using standard Flash or SVG. However, you can do this
using my XML Chart Package
