Apex in an iframe - only allow access from specific parent page

Hi,
I have a simple, unauthenticated Apex 4 application which lets users enter search terms and return records using a classic report. I wish to publish the application within an iframe, so that my organisation's communications department can maintain control over the rest of the page content. A side effect of this solution is that it will be possible for users to lift the application URL from the page source and reuse it elsewhere. I would prefer to avoid this, since I don't want our main website traffic to be diverted. Is there a way to restrict access to an application based on the parent page of the iframe in which it is embedded?

Is there a way to set firefox so it only allows access to only one website / (ip address) and block traffic from everything else (the entire web) other than the one site I want to allow? The site I want to allow is a corporate web application that will only work in firefox. We as a business run a windows server and all client desktops run Internet Explorer with security setting controlled by group policy. We have already locked down the security setting in firefox so users can’t bypass the proxy server settings.

I have a proxy server set up (Symantec.cloud). Fire fox is “locked” so users would find it difficult to bypass it.

What I would also like to do is set firefox so access is limited to 1 IP address and nothing else is allowed (the whole internet is blocked, except this one IP address).
You suggest using a PAC file - I was unsure how I would use a PAC file, (I have never written one) and do not understand how I would implement one? Please help.

Netgear and 'Allow Access From "Any" Name'

I have a Netgear Wireless Router MR814. My iBook with Airport Extreme connects without problems and reconnects automatically after sleep. I have turned on every level of security available except for one labelled 'Wireless Broadcast: Allow Access From "Any" Name'. If I turn this off (uncheck it), the Router does not appear in the iBook's Airport list but I can still connect if I use Internet Connect and select "Other Network". I then have to manually type in the name of the network and the 26 character WEP passphrase. However if I put the computer to sleep when it wakes up the connection is not automatically restored. I have the "Network" control panel set to "Connect to a specific Network" and entered my Network Name and WEP password with preceding $ but no joy. These settings work fine if I turn on 'Allow Access From "Any" Name'.

IME, Windows wireless utilities could care less
whether the name is broadcast or not. They decipher

Who cares if your Windoze Utilities can find the SSID when someone turns the broadcast of their station name off? If the person is using WPA2 Personal level security as I am, You still have to crack the 63 character hex passphrase in order to gain entrance to my network.
Not everyone is foolish enough to use a simple enlish passphrase so a Dictionary Attack can succeed with ease. Many of us make it as difficult as possible for some "script kiddie" or "war driver" to invade our private network.
IIRC, a crack has yet to be found for WPA2 if you only know the station name & MAC address, but do NOT know the 63 hex character passphrase. I welcome urls from reliable web sites that will prove that WPA2 can be cracked withOUT the proper passphrase.

Read-only file access from network volume

I get an read-only file access from network volume problem while sharing a drive from Snow Leopard to a Tiger install. Most of files were opening well, but *.fp7 (FileMaker) and *.xls (Excel) files won't open dealing with a read-only error.
As descibed in the last post of http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1406977 the client have the same share name of the server. Renomming it resolved the error!

I have just wiped clean the Macbook Pro.
I installed Leopard from scratch, then installed Office 2008.
Logged back onto the network share, and the read-only error came up again, ONLY in Excel.
bugger.
Did the same thing with my Macbook and all is fine.
Copy the file to the local hard drive, opens ok.
I then copied the file to another Mac on the network.
mmmm, opens fine.
what's the difference....
mmmm, the machine it opens fine from is running 10.4
the machine which hosts all the data is running 10.3.9
could this be the problem.
Just done a software update check on the 10.3 machine and there are some security updates that need doing.
Going to run that now and see what happens, otherwise I think the iMac running 10.3.9 is going to need to come up to 10.4 and fingers crossed this will solve it.

Whats happened to the 'Only allow cookies from websites I visit' option gone in Safari 5.1.7?

I'm sure there used to be an option to only allow cookies from websites I visit in earlier versions of Safari so my question is have Apple removed some very useful functionality from Safari or have they just hidden somewhere else?

I use Cookies by Sweet P Productions. It manages your cookies, letting you choose favorites for cookies, flash cookies, and databases (I didn't know about some of these so I had to educate myself!).
They also have a FREE app/extension/addon called Safari Cookies - only for Safari not other browsers. I started out using it, but it does install something called SIMBL, and I've heard negative things about it. Nothing serious, but I decided against it. The paid program is a true app/program and does not use SIMBL.

I have been using them for almost a year without any issues or problems and it's pretty easy to set up. It's worth it for you to check it out and decide for yourself.

This is true and is the way the iphone is intended to be used. It is not a backup device.
You should move your music from the old computer to the new one first then sync. You should have a backup of all of your music/pics/docs/etc. Use this to transfer the music, or the Apple Store will do ti for you, or you can call Apple Support and they will help you.
The iphone will sync to ONE computer at a time. When you sync to another it will erase the media from the iphone and replace with the content from the new computer.

iwork for ios accepts for upload and also happily opens all your Microsoft office files, from Office97 standard doc/xls/ppt to the 2011 versions of docx,xlsx,pptx and various other of these format extensions.
Notice : the upload feature in www.icloud.com is only active if you in fact own these apps on your iPhone/Pad/pod. it is not a feature of iWork for the Mac ( iwork09 ) which itself is not icloud capable at all.

IOS nice feature to have - allow notifications from specific apps even on DND

When I sleep at night, I enable "Do Not Disturb". DND has a nice feature that allows calls from specific persons to go thru even while in DND. I'm hoping that Apple would extend this allow specific apps to notify me even on DND. I have a "SmartThings" app, and this app notifies me when unwanted movement, or when my doors/windows are opened by "intruders". I would want SmartThings to notify me, even when I'm in DND.

As long as the app is running, it should.
I use DND on a schedule as well as a third party alarm app and my alarm still sounds every morning before DND is disabled.

How do I make an iPad or iPod touch only allow access to one App? I need to create a one application device for a child.

I need to lock the iPad or Itouch down so only one application is running or available to start. One, for ease of use by a 3 year old and two, in order to make the use of the iPad as an AAC device allowable in a classroom setting. There is concern that the other games, etc will be a distraction.

Create a privilege level that only allows access to show commands

Hi,
I would like to create a privilege level that would only give access to the show commands for certain users. What would be the best way to do this?
Would I have to use the privilege mode level level command for every available show command or is there a more efficient way of doing this?
In addition, could we manage such a privilege level from a Radius Server.

Well, I think the best way to achive this is to use TACACS with command authorization feature.
Configuration on the tacacs server ( only for show commands, read only access)

These commands are required on an IOS router or switch in order to implement command authorization through an ACS server:
    aaa new-model
    aaa authorization config-commands
    aaa authorization commands 0 default group tacacs+ local
    aaa authorization commands 1 default group tacacs+ local
    aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ local
     tacacs-server host 10.1.1.1
     tacacs-server key cisco123
These commands are required on ASA/PIX/FWSM in order to implement command authorization through an ACS server:
    aaa-server authserver protocol tacacs+
    aaa-server authserver host 10.1.1.1
    aaa authorization command authserver
However, if you strictly want to use radius server then please try the below listed attribute for a single user or group.
Service-Type = NAS Prompt

This might not work for ASDM.

I see that when you try to print online, your printer is only allowing you to save. I am happy to help!
When I search for your printer, I am coming up with a Brother HL-2270DW, not an HP printer. Is this the type of printer you have? If so, I would recommend contacting Brother Support.

for example: page a has link to page b

If you're using JSP, you can always store a flag in the session.
Or, take a look at the "Referer" request header.

Thanks so much for addressing my question. Note that the site (www.xula.edu) was working with Safari this morning, but not this afternoon. I also have now been able to access it with Chrome (remember I could not access the site with Chrome initially). Essentially one time while the site was loading on Chrome I clicked another link on the site and opened a new tab for the link- the original page then loaded and now continues to load. I've been trying to do the same with Safari but the page loads and "goes to white" to quickly.
Other notes: I've powered off my iPad (did not help) and restarted my iPad (also did not help). I can also access all other links (to other www.xula.edu related pages on the site using Safari - I find them via a google search)- it's just the home page that loads then goes to "white screen" very quickly. Thanks again for your reply - any help/advice provided is greatly appreciated.

Excel 2008, read-only file access from network volume

Need some assistance please.
I recently setup a Macbook Pro 17" 2.4Ghz (10.5.2) and did a migration from a Powerbook G4. Installed Office 2008.
Excel will not open ANY files from a network volume without giving a read-only access error.
Word is ok and opens files fine.
drag the file from the network to the desktop and it opens ok. drag it back and it copys ok.
so, I created a new user and the problem persists.
I fired up a Macbook running 10.5.2 and Office 2008 and it logged onto the network fine and opened the excel docs just fine.
mmm, ok must be an OS problem.
So, I have just endured waiting for the archive and install to complete on the Macbook Pro and the problem is still there !!!!!
Help.
Is my only fix going to be a complete erase and start again from fresh ?
