Apostrophe gets changed to a ?

Question

I am sending email by reading a .htm document (created from MS Word), placing it in a message body and sending the email in html format.
I have a problem with the ' getting changed to a ?.
For instance, the word "let's" gets changed to "let?s".
I think the relevant code is below.....
Your help is appreciated.

You probably don't have an apostrophe there, you probably have one of the so-called smart quotes that Microsoft Word makes you use. You can turn that off in Word by going Tools, AutoCorrect, Autoformat As You Type, then uncheck the option.
