Append a line in VB Script File in Diadem9.0

I am trying to append a line into a VBS Script file(opened in script panel) of Diadem9.0 through another script file. I am using the command Opentextfile(WriteLine)/Filewriteln command. The line gets appended as an unicode characters.(kind of minute rectangles) Please suggest me a solution to this.

Hi,
In DIAdem 9 you can specify whether to use Unicode or Ascii in the new commands for text handling:
Function: TextFileOpen(Argument1,Argument2)
Argument1 Text with path, name, and extension of the text file.
Argument2 Attribute which opens the file. You can connect logically various attributes. (eg.
TfANSI Specifies that DIAdem codes a text file in ANSI or
TfUNICODE Specifies that DIAdem codes a text file in UNICODE.
I hope this will help you

  • Append a line to a text file

    hi,
    I'm using Oracle 11g.
    I'm storing text files in XML DB and accessing them using FTP, pl/sql and Java.
    Sometimes this files are huge, and all I need is to append a line.
    Is there any way to do this, without reading the full content of the file, using PL/SQL? Or Java?
    Thanks for all the help you can give me.

  • What's the easiest way to remove/append a line of a text file???

    The line to remove can be any line in the file - not only the first or last one.
    Is there any good tutorial for file operations?
    Thanks a million,
    Serano.

    To remove a line from a text file, the easiest way is to read it in one line at a time and write out all lines except the one you want to remove to a new version of the file. Likewise, to insert a line, you read the file one line at a time and write the lines to a new version, inserting the new line at its correct spot.

  • Tcl/tk:  #!/usr/bin/wish in a script file does not start wish

    When executing a tcl/tk script file, 'wish' does not execute the tcl/tk commands in the file.
    Instead I get error messages: "command not found" from tcsh for every tcl/tk command in the file. I use tcsh as login shell.
    The first line in the script file is: #!/usr/bin/wish. The program is at this place.
    Starting 'wish' with my tcl/tk file as argument works fine.
    Starting the wish.app and "sourcing" the script file works fine.

    Thanks for the help so far.
    Using
    /usr/bin/wish led.tk
    works.
    using
    ./led.tk
    does not even start wish. I checked with Activity Monitor.
    Below are my "wishes", the first one is actually a link to wish4.8.
    ls /usr/bin/wi*
    wish
    wish8.4
    wish8.4-X11
    wish8.4.7
    wish8.5
    But I am one step closer.
    Starting X11.app and starting my script in an xterm and using
    '#!/usr/bin/wish8.4-X11'
    in the script works.
    Using
    #!/usr/bin/wish8.4
    has still the same symptoms. For me it looks like a bug. I wonder if anybody can verify on MacOS 10.4.3

  • Import Script to skip first 6 lines of a txt file

    Hello,
    Can anybody help me here? I am looking for an Import Script in Upstream that will ignore the first 6 lines of the TXT file I am importing. FYI - The first 6 lines is the header and I don't want this to be imported as it results in error.
    Can you help? Thanks,
    James

    Even with fixed format files you shouldn't be getting error for the header lines in the file because there is no amount in those lines,, however if you are still getting the error, you can try this, it may help,
    There are temporary variables you can use for this kind of needs: RES.PvarTemp1 to 5
    so, you will need to put a script in amount field, let's say "getLineNumber"
    function getlinenumber
    If Len(RES.PvarTemp1) <= 6 Then
    RES.PvarTemp1 = RES.PvarTemp1 & "1"
    RES.PblnSkip = True
    End If
    end function
    this should do the work, if you are using RES.PvarTemp1 for other purposes in your scripts, use another temp variable.
    hope this helps

    Hello,
    is there a way to append a line to the beginning of a file instead of at the end of an existing file via UTL_FILE?

    No, you would have to create a new file.

  • How to "commit" only certain lines of code in the script file?

    Hi there,
    Is there a way to execute only certain lines of code in the script file without executing all the code in it. Wihtout using the comment syntax.
    e.g: there are lines to create views and in the next set of line there are lines to create procedures. I only want to execute the lines that create views.

    another workaround is to create a procedure that accepts parameters. such that the parameter will be the basis for what objects in your conditions that it should met to perform the operations that conform with your business rules. an example is given below.
      create or replace procedure create_object(pObjectType varchar2) as
      begin
        if pObjectType = 'VIEW' then
        elsif pObjectType = 'PROCEDURE' then
        else
        end if;
      end;

  • Best way to remove last line-feed in text file

    What is the best way to remove last line-feed in text file? (so that the last line of text is the last line, not a line-feed). The best I can come up with is: echo -n "$(cat file.txt)" > newfile.txt
    (as echo -n will remove all trailing newline characters)

    What is the best way to remove last line-feed in text file? (so that the last line of text is the last line, not a line-feed). The best I can come up with is: echo -n "$(cat file.txt)" > newfile.txt
    (as echo -n will remove all trailing newline characters)
    According to my experiments, you have removed all line terminators from the file, and replaced those between lines with a space.
    That is to say, you have turned a multi-line file into one long line with no line terminator.
    If that is what you want, and your files are not very big, then your echo statement might be all you need.
    If you need to deal with larger files, you could try using the 'tr' command, and something like
    tr '
    ' ' ' <file.txt >newfile.txt
    The only problem with this is, it will most likely give you a trailing space, as the last newline is going to be converted to a space. If that is not acceptable, then something else will have to be arranged.
    However, if you really want to maintain a multi-line file, but remove just the very last line terminator, that gets a bit more complicated. This might work for you:
    perl -ne '
    chomp;
    print "
    " if $n++ != 0;
    print;
    ' file.txt >newfile.txt
    You can use cat -e to see which lines have newlines, and you should see that the last line does not have a newline, but all the others still do.
    I guess if you really did mean to remove all newline characters and replace them with a space, except for the last line, then a modification of the above perl script would do that:
    perl -ne '
    chomp;
    print " " if $n++ != 0;
    print;
    ' file.txt >newfile.txt
    Am I even close to understanding what you are asking for?

  • How can you detect (from a script file) that javac found problems?

    The subject line says it all, but the background is:
    I have a script file (.bat, since am stuck on windoze for the moment) which is doing some compilation using javac.
    I would like to skip all subsequent activities in the script file after the call to javac if any file failed to compile.
    So, what can I use as a signal from javac that it found a problem?
    I initially tried detecting an exit code from javac that was non zero, but javac does not seem to emit such an exit coe when it objects to a file (it still returns with 0 as an exit code).
    The only remaining strategy that I can think of is to pipe javac's output to a file, and if there is any content in it then assume that it indicates an error and use that as a signal.
    This is suboptimal because it will give false signals for mere warnings, so if anyone has a better suggestion, please post

    You are right: it appears that javac does exit with an exit code of 1 if an error is detected in one of the files being compiled, at least on the windows jdk.
    To prove this, create an arbitrary java source file called HelloWorld.java, and create a msdos .bat file in the same directory that looks like
    @echo on
    javac  -Xlint:deprecation  HelloWorld.java
    :handleError
    @if not errorlevel 1 goto finalActions
    @echo ERROR DETECTED: compile.bat will TERMINATE PREMATURELY
    :finalActions
    @echo compile.bat now terminatedBy playing around with what you put in the source file (totally clean code, stuff that should compile but issue a warning, and garbage that should not compile) as well as with the exit code value detected by the .bat file, for instance trying
    @if not errorlevel 2 goto finalActions(see http://www.robvanderwoude.com/errorlevel.html if you need some documentation on error codes in dos bat files), I have determined the following as javac's behavior on windows:
    If code is pristine, exit code = 0.
    If code causes javac to emit a warning but is compilable, exit code = 0.
    If code cannot be compiled, exit code = 1.

  • Running mxmlc from command line - unable to open file

    Hello all,
    Just tried to get Flex up and running - but have run into
    probably a simple problem. Here's the scenario:
    1. I've put the flex 2.0 installation folder on my C drive
    such that the path is c:\flex_sdk_2
    2. I've set my system path to reference the the mxmlc with
    c:\flex_sdk_2\bin
    3. I've set up a folder on my desktop for my flex programs,
    creatively called 'flex'
    4. From my command line I use 'xmxlc --strict=true
    --file-specs filename.mxml'
    My output is this:
    Loading configuration file <etc>
    Error: unable to open filename.mxml
    As I said before, probably an easy fix but thought I'd put
    something up to see if anybody knew an answer off the top of their
    head? I'm running Windows XP. Home Edition, V. 2002 if it helps.
    Many thanks!

  • How to add an space for every line in a text file in 46.B?

    Hi Friends!!
    My problem is the following,
    I need to add spaces in all lines of a text file

    Hi all,
    I'm using variable substitution in a File Adapter, it's refers an element of message, like:
    filename    payload:MESSAGE_INTERFACE,1,FILENAME,1
    The variable substitution is working right, but it's append a BLANK LINE at end of file.
    Anyone knows how to solve this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Regis,
    I suppose you're using content conversion?
    if so try adding
    <b>endSeparator</b> = '0'
    to your last element
    this will delete the default line break at the end

  • Removal of Line feed from EDI file in IDOC to EDI file scenario

    Hi Experts,
    I have one problem related to line feed in EDI file. Currently i am using seeburger mapping to do XML to EDI mapping. After mapping i am using File Adapter(with NFS) to create file in my PI server.
    The line looks like
    UNB+UNOA......
    UNH+1.......
    BGM.........
    but i want my file in without line feed
    UNBUNOA......UNH1......BGM
    Can this be possible without use of Shell script?
    Is anything i can do in Seeburger mapping [i checked BIC mapper in seeburger and see some parameters there]?
    Regards,
    Shradha

    Hi,
    I am explaining my scenario in detail:
    my Current EDI file looks like
    UNAf1f2............'
    UNBf1f2............'
    BGMf1f2............'
    UNHf1f2............'
    now i want my file to be in following format
    UNAf1f2............'UNBf1f2............'BGMf1f2............'UNHf1f2............'
    NOTE: to create my current file i am using File adapter with NFS and seeburger mapping.
    Can you please tell me a way to remove the line feed from the current file ?
    I already tried newline checkbox from seeburger and it is not working. and other parameter i can use from see burger mapping tool which will remove my line feed.
