[appldev@oracletrng5 ~]$ ./startAPP /bin/sh: error while loading shared lib

Hi hussein,
I got error when I startup my new cloned Oracle apps 11i in OEL5.6
[appldev@oracletrng5 ~]$ ./startAPP
/bin/sh: error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryOr all command line (like "ls", "cat", etc) throws this error :(
But if I am a "root" user I can run this.
Please help...
Thanks

Hi hussein,
It seems only the discoverer start script got error. The metalink notes said:
Oracle Discoverer 4i is not certified with Oracle Applications 11i since December 2006.
Solution
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Upgrade Discoverer to version 10.1.2 or later as per Note 313418.1
Using Discoverer 10.1.2 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i. I think we are not using discover. Do I need to fix it?
But the start all script has status "1" at the end of run. which meant not successful.
Below is the complete log of start all script:

I found this error is pretty common, not necessary appear when installing Tuxedo. I am searching around and a lot of people saying to comment out the line
    export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
The problem is I don't know which in which file I need to do it. Has anyone have the encountered the similar problem before? Thanks.

After reading the installation script, I figure out which is the evil file. I just post it here so if someone get into this problem in the future, he can fix it.
    Here is the solution:
Assume you are at the directory where the install.sh is. Do the following:
    -bash-3.1$ cd linux/sles9/base
    -bash-3.1$ cp tuxedo91_32_SLES_9_x86.bin tuxedo91_32_SLES_9_x86.bin.bak

    Then run the installation script
sh install.sh and be happy as I am now!!!!

    Hi Valentin
The copy error occurs when you try to copy the files to the main OS that has allocated the VM ?
Because another option is to get those files toward the VM across and ftp server. You could use
an ftp server installed in the main machine or in the network where you are connected o inclusive from
your mail if you have connection to internet.

I left pacman downloading nvidia drivers, and when I came back my father had reseted the computer.

/bin/bash: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.5 ...
And so on. It doesn't goes anywhere from there.
What can I do? I have Fedora too and no problems on accesing Arch's partition.

    Just upgrade readline and bash
EDIT: You can't boot? Should have upgraded it first before rebooting!
Insert Live Cd and mount the / at /mnt
    and :
    pacman -r /mnt Sy bash

  • Error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so

    Hi,
Hopefully, this is the right list for this problem. I am working on a computer that has Linux 2.6.20-1.2952.fc6. I am trying to deploy a program to a Sun SPOT using over-the-air functionality; however, I get the following message:

    /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_02/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so
How can I resolve this error?
    Thanks,

make sure to include one of those two directories in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. Probably the client directory one. And only the directoy (i.e. that path minus the libjvm.so part).

    1) Could this be the cause of the problem ?

    yap. got it..
    disabled SELinux then run it.
I didn't get any errors and have it up and running. Here is what I did:
Full Fedora Core 4 install with SELinux enabled (default settings). Then, after install, disable SELinux in the /etc/selinux/config file.
    Thanks
