Apple Remote Desktop - remote server says it's locked by me! How to get in?

I locked the screen on a server and after a while it now says ARD Not Active, so i walked up to the server and it says the screen is locked by me . Now, can't I tell it ... 'hey, this is me, let me in' type a password or something.

So i guess emailing my reply to the forums doesn't work, (or it takes a long time and i'll end up with doubles).
So i can't click on the curtain since it says ARD is not active and if i try i get a connection failed, (same with observer and control).
I tried the kill command, first i tried -TERM to be "nice" to it and ask it to terminate but i noticed there was a reason you said -9. So i tried 9, it did die and i asked someone in the office to go check it out and the screen was still locked, did the ps again and it was back with a different pid

Is there a settings file where it will say it's locked and then maybe to a -HUP on the ARD process?

Apple remote doesn't work consistenly. I've looked at my router and firewwall settings and they don't aapear to be incorrect. Sometimes I re-boot everything from my ipad, router, and PC and it works. You have to put it in dfu mode, when its plugged into itunes reset it by holding the home and the power button, when it starts back up let go of the power button and just hold the home button it should find your phone and say its in restore mode. from there you just have to restore it

Trying to download a movie I got disconnected and it won't restart the download. When I click on iTunes it pulls it up and says waiting. Any suggestions on how to get it to finish downloading?

Can file adapter be used to write to remote server

Hi, can file adpater be used to write to a remote server(say from linux to windows) or we have to run an ftp server and use the ftp adapter only.

Hi Manish,
As mentioned by Hisaak, File adapter should be used to write files locally and FTP adapter should be used to write files on remote servers. Still if you want to use file adapter then you have to mount/map the network drive (drive at remote server) to your local machine and then you may use File adapter, provided proper permissions are there.

what kind of changes i have to make in the existing backup script in order to achieve this task.

Why u r using Socket Class? Instead of this u use RMI.
In RMI u can access server remotely.I don't know that u know anything about RMI or not.If yes then ok,otherwise mail me I will tell u total detail of how to use RMI.

Configuring local and remote server mysql

So I am loosing my mind a bit. I have a local testing server and a remote server. My local MAMP database works fantastic with my website. I have a php script under a folder 'connections' labeled "localhost.php" that is used to as the connection to my MYSQL database. I uploaded my entire site to a remote server, configured the remote database (000webhost.com) and for simplicity, just changed the configuration in the original 'localhost.php' to match the remote server database connection. However, no matter how many times I try, I can't get it to connect! When I go online to 000webhost.com and access the database, it is in fact functioning. So the error is definitely in the connection.
It seems that even though I specify the url for the host as mysql7.000webhost.com, I get an error indicating it cannot connect to the url. The url has the address of my local server, followed by the remote server details. I can't seem to change this and it is driving me nuts. FTP works fine, just the database. Any pointers?
As a summary, here are the steps I made:
clicked on "databases" window
double clicked on my database name "local host"
Changed the username, host, database, and password to EXACTLY what I was provided
Clicked test and I receive "unidentified error occurred"
http error 404 pops up with a url indicating it is attempting to route through the my local url first (localhost:8889)

I believe it is specific to DW. The odd thing is, I have been able to get it to work before. It just randomly started failing
Here is the error I get when I attempt to connect via DW. As you can see, it looks like it is first trying to go through my local testing server (localhost:8888). I don't want this but for the life of me can't figure out how to get it to route directly to the URL.

How to embed a .vi as a web page on a remote server

I use a remote server running a Plone content management system application to allow remote users connect via the internet and store data files (delimited text files) for later analysis .
I am using Labview 7.0
I wish to change our current data analysis process:
the process now:
1) go to the web site via an internet connection (this is a site served by a remote 3rd party server running a Plone instance)
2) download the data to a local PC
3) run the data analysis .vi on the local PC (the .vi prompts the user for the location of the data file, the user browses to the location on the local hard drive and then the .vi graphs the data and generates the results)
the desired new process:
1) using a smartphone or similar web enabled PDA go to the web site where the user can remotely control an embedded data analysis .vi
2) the remotely served .vi prompts the user for the url location of the data file and then the .vi graphs the data and generates the results
My questions:
A) How do I get the data analysis .vi loaded onto the remote server? (I just don't see how to do this with the web publishing tool, maybe it is not possible?)
B) Will the remote server require other software such as Labview RTE?

I would install and configure an FTP-Server on the computer that runs your analysis.VI.
Users can upload data via FTP to that computer. (That way, they should know the absolute path to that file.)
Enable your analysis.VI to read data from the local disk.
Make your analysis.VI a remote panel and configure LabVIEW WebServer options accordingly.
Users now can connect to the remote panel and specify which data file the remote panel should read.
The remote panel then generates the results and displays them on the front panel.
Does it match your demands?

How to setup Apple remote on my Mac Pro

Hi I just received my Apple Remote to use with my Mac Pro. How do I get it to work? Do I have to pair the remote with the Mac Pro? Are there specific programs that will only work with the Apple Remote? I tried Itunes and nothing happened, Pressing button's doesn't seem to do anything. Any help is greatly appreciated

No, the mac pro is the only mac that doesn't currently support the apple remote as is. If you have a ipod touch or iphone, you can use the "remote" app from apple to use your touch or iphone as a remote over wifi. I've tried it before, it works great~ Only tried in itunes though, not sure if front row works.
