Apple said they sent an email for me to verify my account but never did. The 48 hrs has passed and still no email support. Any ideas?

I Bought an iTunes gift card, was able to redeem it online, but the next step for being able to purchase on the store website was for me to receive an email from Apple to "verify" my account.  The email never arrived, and the 48 hrs has passed since I submitted my case to Apple. Very disappointed so far.

Who discarded the Apple ID? Apple? or You?
Did you answer the Security Questions? Is the backup email accurate? Have you tried contacting them?

    I have the same problem -- no email arrives when I try to reset my password.
    I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized."
    So I try to login to my Apple ID
    - password is wrong
    - follow the link to reset password
    - chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)
    - go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"
    - says my DoB is wrong but I'm sure DoB is correct and there's no way forward
    So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?

    I'm running OS X 10.9.2 on an iMac with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory. All previous updates have downloaded and installed flawlessly, but every time it arrives -- and that's been several times so far -- this one has simply shown that blue-and-white striped busy bar, says it's contacting the server, and does nothing, no matter how long I leave it running.

    That's weird but you should be able to manually install the update like this:
    #Download a fresh copy from [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ here] - direct link (https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-28.0-SSL&os=osx&lang=en-US)
    #Install the new version. For details, see [[How to download and install Firefox on Mac]]
    Usually this fixes this issue with automatic updates. There will be new version available starting next Tuesday. The automatic update will happen sometime over the following week or so.

    The reset link will send reset info to the rescue email account that you put on your account - alternate email addresses are different email addresses, they are not used for resetting questions.
    If you don't have access to your rescue email account (you won't be able to change it until you can answer your questions) then you will have to contact Support in your country (and which is therefore on your iTunes account) to get the questions reset.

    When they've been reset you can then change your rescue email address for potential future use (but it can't be the same as any other address on the account) : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses

    Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
    To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

    Check Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID, make sure it's set to your phone number not your email address.

    Go to Mannage apple id, attempt to sign in, if your infomation si correct it'll tell you where it's routing the verfication email
    Tell it to send it, it should send, if you can sign into Manage Apple ID in the above link your apple id is set

    If you both have seperate iTunes Store accounts then basically, yes, it is going "screw up" your wife's account.
    iTunes Match is designed as a single-user service which is associated with one and only one iTunes Store account ID. If you have subscribed on your account and want to activate the service on another computer that is already signed in with an account the present account must be signed out and then iTunes signed into your account. This means the other computer will have complete access to your account and will only be able to make purchases on your account. iTM is not designed to be signed in and out at will. If she has apps purchased with her iTunes Store account they will not be able to be updated.

    To change the ID:
    For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (Receive At in iOS 5), tap the ID sign out, sign back in using the other ID.
    For FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>Facetime.
    For Purchasing, do this in Settings>iTunes & App Stores (Settings>Store in iOS 5).
    For iCloud, you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account.  Before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them.  To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.  Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On iPod.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
