Apriori Algorith Association Chart issue

Hello experts,
I'm just beginning with PA and need some help.
I'm applying the APriori algorithm in SAP PA with a datasource of CSV with 200 observations. The algorithm execution status is "Analysis successfully executed, results are available for visualization, switch to results view" I click OK and all the rules are displayed in the Data grid. But when I click on Association chart, it throws up an error saying "No rules are available to render the chart" even though the settings shows Support value, Confidence value and lift value is mentioned in respective dropdown.
Can Anyone please help?

Hi,
I would recommend that you reproduce on the latest available SP18, and contact support if this still occurs. AGS have internal (preview) SP19 builds on which they can retest if required.

SSRS 2008 Line Chart Issue.

We are facing an issue with SSRS 2008 charts. We have a report which shows dynamic number of series on a line chart. The data values may not exist for all series for
the same x axis points. We expected SSRS to connect the missing points as average and have set the empty point option to average.
The issue is that the
1)
lines for interpolated points only appear when we set the color of empty point to say red and not when it is set to automatic. We need the interpolated line in the same auto
colour as the original line as we will have markers for the data points from the DB and no markers for empty points.
2)
The interpolated lines extend backwards in the series also – we expect it to only fill the gaps and not extend backward or forward.
Are these issues known and is there a work around for these issues ? We got your name from one of the SSRS community discussions. Could you please connect us with
the right person if you are not the right contact for this issue ?
I also got following reply from one of the MS guy, it says

The lines should not go backward. I have seen this happen before and I’ll have to double-check on what that occurs. If you
are using a Category Axis, make sure you set the sorting to use a Cdate() expression. I think that might be it ,but I’ll have to double check.
As far as using the auto-coloring on the series when you have empty points like this, I don’t think that’s possible. It would require
a DCR. You may need to implement something along the lines described in this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964128(SQL.90).aspx.
When I tried the suggestions I over come the auto colouring issue and also used CDATE () but lines still extend bacawords. Can anyone suggest what to do it this situation

Firstly, I am not sure who is that MS guy you mentioned without the detail name. Based on my understanding to your issue, I think you could utilize the function
IsNothing in reoprting services to have a check whether the value is null, if it is Null, you should give a average value to this point, if not leave it to be the original value. Of course, you could achieve this in T-SQL. To
the color and marker, we could type in the expression in both feature to control their display effort.

Chart issues in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0

1> The column on which ordering is based must be used in the Chart, else the ordering does not occur inspite of it being present in the criteria.
2> The Graph properties do not contain any option of removing Report Navigation / Interaction unlike the 10 g application.
Are their any work around for the above mentioned Graph issues.

Try these
1. Edit the NQSConfig.INI file to reset the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES to NO and restart the Oracle BI Servers.
2. Remove, set to none, or comment out the line (see UpgradeAndExit in the following example) added to the instanceconfig.xml file (that instructs Oracle BI Presentation Server to refresh GUIDs on restart).

Gantt chart issue

We are using SAP PPM 5.0 (cProject), unable to display the Gantt chart. Kindly suggest me what setting need to done to display Gantt chart. In URL for created project if I click for Graphical tab to display gantt chat, it just through out JAVA symbol error.

Charts Issue in 10g

Hi expers,
When I tick "Chart Pivot Results" check box, I can use chart in the pivot view, however,I am facing two issue.
Firstly, when I use pie chart for showing data, I want to truncate label name .
For example, there are two columns named Date and Item in rows area , if I want to see data through chart, the label name will be long,like 12/30/2011,item11539, so clients only want to see item11539 ,not 12/30/2011 information.
Secondly, when you cilck chart every area, you will navigate other detail report for filter value through passing parameter.

You have a pivoted view of chart and you want to have both pivote table and chart view in results. to achive follow the below steps
1. crete pivote table as per req
2. create another pivote view same as above or make duplicate from above and hide date or move it to excude section and check chart pivot results and in chart position dropdown select chart only.
3. now you can see pivote table and desired chart view in compound view.
4. If you want to drill or navigate from chart then configure the same in additional chart options in edit chart view.

Chart Issue, tooltip separator / on custom XML sustitution not working

I did not find the way to declaratively change the Tooltip label separator in the chart, I see the XML contains this:

<format><![CDATA[{%Name}{enabled:False} - {%Value}The problem is the "-" minus sign as separator between the label and the value - even if the Y axis show where the 0 is, some user might see them as negative number.
On option is to use custom XML. In that case, since I'm using &ITEM_NAME. in the chart title, this is not replaced.
Any idea how to overcome on these issue?

HFR_ Line chart Issue.

Hi,
We have a Line chart in Fr rpt......There are 12 months in cols(X axis)........and accounts in rows(Y axis)...
We have data from Jan to Aug........In the chart the lines abruptly falls down from Aug and shows data as 0 from aug to dec.....
How can we just show the lines in chart ONLY where there is data.......It should not fall down where there data doesn't exist.

I have always had a similar issue and unfortunately never managed to resolve it. Frustratingly it is not the same in Web Analysis so you would think that Oracle could make such a change but I think unfortunately that they are unlikely to.
I have tried various things, setting to #Missing, #Error and I seem to remember that neither worked. Have you tried suppressing the data columns, can't remember if that did stop the line dropping off but would mean that at times your report may only have 1 or 2 data points.
The last time i tried all this was v11.1.1.3 so let us know how you get on.

FR Line Chart Issue

We have a line chart in FR report.
The data in the grid is shown in millions.......the chart gets the data from this grid.
When the FR report is opened in pdf format the chart is coming-up in millions..
but when its opened in html it shows the chart in Unmillions data (-:))..........
The chart display is different in pdf(millions) n html(Unmillions )views
how can we fix it

There are lots of issues with FR charting to be honest it is nowhere near as 'complete' as charting in Web Analysis for example. I pushed FR to and in some cases beyond its limits on a project a year or so ago but I don't remember this being an issue.
Its a bit hazy now but I thought the chart took its formatting from the grid or there may be formatting options in the format chart dialog box. We tended to only view only in PDF as we were creating books for expor and email rather than online consumption so I suppose were less likely to see the issue.

BEX- Formatting associated charts

We are working in BI7.0.
In my workbook i have created Charts, wich are linked with the queries (Grid Tabl + Asociated Charts)
When i do this , the charts is incorrect (color , legend, series...) I can change it directly in EXCEL , but when i refersh, all my modifications are deleted
Any idea to control the asociated charts ?

       Goto the properties of the Analysis Grid, there you can find a check box called 'Apply Formatting'. Untick the check box.

MV 11gPr1 - variable pie chart issue

Hi,
Trying out advanced style - variable pie chart - we faced some issue - if data source contains bigger numbers (e.g. 100000,200000....) something causes that radius of all pies is the same. with smaller values (10,20...) the pie radius is variable.

Thanks for your reply. But unfortunately it was not solving my issue. Because I am using Pie chart where there are no series. It has only categories. So i cannot set which column to show and which column to hide. Also I am having only one column marked as visible in my query so i think i do not need to mention any settings in the web templates. Also I am publishing the graphs in portal so excel settings is also not needed for me.

Design Chart issue

Hi,
In Release 12, I am not able to navigate to second page in Design Chart. 11.5.10 has Next button in Design Chart when no of options in primary features are more. But in Release 12, the chart allows adding a primary feature which has many options but you will not be able to scroll right on the page as there is no horizontal bar to scroll left to right.
It looks like a regression in Release 12.
Can anyone please confirm the same.

I dont know if it is still relevant for you, but we had a semillar issue. My guess is that is a rendering issue.
In our case the following work around seemed to solve it:
On the data source we added this to "On Result Set Changed":
CHART_SKU.showLoadingState();
CHART_SKU.hideLoadingState();

Multi-column chart issues

I'm trying to make a 2d column chart of quiz entry results with multiple series (one per possible answer) but it's not working as intended. I have 5 series all with code like:
select null link, substr(question, 1, INSTR(question,' - ',1,1)), count(answer) from quizdata
where answer ='Strongly Disagree'
and :P13_DEP = emp_dep
and to_char(sysdate, 'YYYY') = to_char(ins_date, 'YYYY')
group by substr(question, 1, INSTR(question,' - ',1,1))Except with the answer being different (Agree, Strongly Agree~). However, when I load the page it only shows the results of the first series (Strongly Disagree, or if I delete that then Disagree)...anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
x-axis = question
y-axis = count (number of people to select that option this year)
There should be 5 columns per question.

For anyone who has a similar issue with multiple series being displayed the reason for my error was that I didn't specify a name for the value...since all of them were count(c) they clashed; making it count(c) "Disagree" etc made it display as intended.
