AQ Adapter batch dequeue

Has anyone seen any way to get the AQ to dequeue multiple messages and send them to BPEL as a batch? I'm looking for the equivalent of the PL/SQL DEQUEUE_ARRAY procedure.

It might help to explain what I'm trying to accomplish. The queue we're listening to is going to have a lot of noise, so I'm hoping I can dequeue messages in batch and then filter out the noise inside of the BPEL. This should reduce the number of BPEL processes that get initiated and overall performance of the system.

    Hi Senthilprakash,
    I guess you must know that the batch file must exist on the XI server, not on your local machine.
    if yes, try with one / like:
    F:/Test/prakash/Endseperator.bat %F
    Make sure the user <sid>adm (in case of Unix) or SAPService<SID> (in case of windows) has the execution right of your program.

  • FTP Adapter batching multiple files in one send

    Hello,
    I'd like to set up a process in XI to allow me to group all files into one batch message and send the group all in one send every thirty minutes.  This is an FTP adapter.
    Do I need to work through a BPM to do this?  Is there a good blog or forum topic on this?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    That is exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks.
    I will test with the BPM and if the performance becomes and issue I will try your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • FTP adapter Batching is not inserting records in to  multiple tables

    Hi,
    Env : 11.1.1.5
    We have a scenario where we are reading file with the FTP adapter. As the file can be huge, we are using batching option with a batch size of 2000 records. The records in the file is in the Order and Lines format. In Bpel i am inserting those records in database. I have one Db adapter having two tables Orders and lines with a 1:M relation.
    Now in the positive test case scenario, Bpel is able to read the file , split it in to batches and successfully inserts the records in the tables (Orders and Lines).
    Now when i am testing a negative test case, i have violated the Primary key constraint in one of the record. Now ideally the batch which encountered the issue and failed, none of the records should get inserted in the Orders and Lines table, but that is not happening. In our case, no records are getting inserted to the lines table (which is as expected) but few records are getting inserted in to the Order table of the failed batch.
    F.Y.I : Number of Records in the batch can be less then Batch Size.
    Any clue on this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jaap,
    thanks for your reply...
    Sorry for being a little unclear ...
    I have followed the instrunctions in the on-line help of OWB , and :
    1) have imported four code tables into a source module . The tables are in an Oracle RDBMS 10g .
    2)I have created manually a table - using the OWB client tool - which consisted of some of the columns found in the four tables .
    3)I have inserted a Join Operator in order to correlate the four table columns with the columns of the target module.
    4)I have defined the Join condition of the the four table columns. In my first post , unintenionally I have written that I removed the Join Operator. I meant the Join Condition in order to make sure that the join condition isn't the reason that the records are not inserted....
    5)I have validated and generated the mapping without any errors - not even warnings.
    6)I have selected Project->Deployment Manager and I selected the OWB_RUN user - which is the Runtime Repository owner.
    7)I have selected the objects to deploy - the mapping , the one table I created in the target module. The deployment has succedded , and the table was created but no records are found in it.
    Now , is there a possibility that this problem is caused by absence of the privileges to insert the rows...?
    How can I check that the source tables are filled on the registered location of your source module?
    Another basic question...
    I have created a Runtime Repository owner - called owb_run- using the Runtime Repository Assistant . I use this user in order to deploy the mapping and the new table. I want -and it is created- that table in another schema (user his_dw) - even another database in the same server. Should I run the Runtime Repository owner in this schema (his_dw)???
    Thanks , again a lot

  • JCA DB Adapter Batching

    JCA DB Adapter
    Table:
    Coln1 - CostID (It can come any number of times, NOT UNIQUE)
    Coln2 - Name
    Example values
    c1 - raju
    c1 - rama
    c2 - Rakesh
    c1 - jamal
    I have a select query in DB Adapter - get distinct values of CostID - from above table.. There are around 50000+ records.
    Do we have any batching concept here to read 1000 records at a time and process? In inbound adapter , i hope we can use batching (maxTransactionSize,maxRaiseSize), but for synch read of DBAdapter how can we acheive this..
    Regards
    Sesha

    Hi Sesha,
    There is nothing that I'm aware of... If you are not using polling, where you have maxTransactionSize,maxRaiseSize... Then all you have is the where clause...
    You can work with the where clause and the ROWNUM pseudo column (Oracle)...
    SELECT * FROM employees WHERE ROWNUM < 11 ORDER BY last_name;

  • Dequeue (using a AQ Adapter) based on a "Variable" condition

    Hi,
    I use an AQ Adapter to dequeue messages from an AQ and send it to an BPEL process. I have setup the adapter for conditional dequeuing as follows:
    My message object has a field called "title" so in my adapter i use the Dequeue condition as below and it works perfectly:
    <jca:operation
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.aq.inbound.AQDequeueActivationSpec"
    QueueName="DETPAYLOAD_QUEUE"
    DatabaseSchema="APPS"
    DequeueCondition="tab.user_data.title='Test Case'"
    OpaqueSchema="false" >
    </jca:operation>
    My question is : Is it possible to configure the adapter based on a Variable in the BPEL process?
    For example: Can i use the DequeueCondition as : DequeueCondition="tab.user_data.title=Process_Variable" (where Process_Variable is a BPEL process variable that has been populated in the previous activity)
    I have tried some of the below ways to get this working but have not been successful so far. Has anyone tried this before?
    - DequeueCondition="tab.user_data.title=(String)getVariableData("Process_Variable")"
    - DequeueCondition="tab.user_data.title=:Process_Variable"
    - DequeueCondition="tab.user_data.title=@Process_Variable"
    Thanks,
    Amol

    That's the way.

  • How to rollback AQ dequeue operations in BPEL

    Hi,
    For a service i initially started using an Oracle AQ Adapter for dequeueing messages from an Oracle AQ. This works fine, only when processing of the message fails, i have to rollback the dequeue operation. Although that Oracle AQ Adapters do support XA, it do not see a way (documented in oracle docs, google etc) to force the rollback of that dequeue operation. Is it possible to rollback a dequeue operation using the oracle AQ Adapter?
    Secondly i tried it using an JMS Adapter. Herefore i created within a existing JMS Module a foreign server (WNSForeignServer) with
    - JNDI Initial Context Factor; oracle.jms.AQjmsInitialContextFactory
    - JNDI Properties: datasource=jdbc/CDB
    I created a new connection factory in WNSForeignServer: WNS_BERICHT_CF with
    - Local JNDI Name: aqjms/XAQueueConnectionFactory
    - Remote JNDI Name: XAQueueConnectionFactory
    I created a new destination in WNSForeignServer: wns_bericht_q with
    - Local JNDI Name: jms/aq/wns_bericht_q
    - Remote JNDI Name: Queues/WNS_BERICHT_Q
    Restarted the managed server
    WNS_BERICHT_Q is an existing queue which is also used by the configured (and working) AQ Adapter.
    In my composite i added a JMS Adapter using Oracle Advanced Queueing as JMS Provider and Consume Message as operation Type.
    The Destination Name is jms/aq/wns_bericht_q (visible when using the browse option)
    When putting messages on the queue the message is retrieved when using the Oracle AQ Adapter, but ik keep failing retrieving the messages using th JMS adapter.
    Any help/ideas is appreciated ! (in other words; HELP! ;-) )
    Cheers,
    Peter

  • Duplicate instance in EM for Oracle Apps Adapter

    Hi,
    In composite.xml , Oracle apps adapter is kept in Service end which listens to a queue.
    During the time of Performance test , I could see multiple instance got generated in EM console for the same message.
    The following oracle apps property property got included in compostie.xml
    +<property name="adapter.aq.dequeue.threads" type="xs:string" many="false">1</property>+
    +<property name="minimumDelayBetweenMessages">15000</property>+
    +<property name="DequeueTimeOut" type="xs:integer" many="false" override="may">60</property>+
    Please let me know, is there any other property , need to be included in either composite or server level , in order to stop the duplicate instance in EM console .

    Then its expected behaviour, you need to make active-passive configuration on JCA adapters.
    Ideally we use "clusterdid" setting to make active- passive configuration on JCA adapter.
    <property name="clusterGroupId">ProcessClusterID</property>
    The above properties i had set it for File/FTP adapter on composite.xml. This make sure only one node active at any given point of time.
    Not sure wheather the same will be helpful or not. W'll update you shortly.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Issues with AQ Adapter in BPEL

    Hi,
    I am currently using SOA suite 10g and my BPEL process dequeues from AQ Adapter the message and continues with the BPEL Flow.Currently I have a PL/SQL block to enqueue into the custom AQ Table.I see that after I enqueue the messages are present in the queue table and after sometime it disapppears.But the instance is not created in BPEL console for the record created in the custom queue table.Sometimes the BPEL instance is created in BPEL console.Kindly let me know your inputs on where these messages must be disappearing without showing up in the BPEL Console?
    Also I have another clarification:Is there any setting in BPEL wherein I can dequeue only few threads from the queue to prevent overloading BPEL from creating many concurrent threads at the same time.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anand

    Anand,
    Your transaction is rolling back because of some fault with the PLSQL call that you are making.
    1. Try to put a catch or catch all block - that catches the fault instead of rolling back the instance.
    2. You do not need a rejectMessageHandler in this case because the message will already be in Invoke Message table. You should see the message in Recovery(Invokes) in these scenarios and you should be able to recover from there.
    Regarding your query regarding threads:
    By default there will be only one thread per node that dequeues message from queue, but the scope of that threads ends once the message is placed in invoke message table. Once the message reach invoke message - It's the Invoker thread (Part of Invoke Thread Pool) who does the processing(Again there is a in memory queue in middle, but for the high level, I am ignoring it).
    If you really wanted to single thread it, Make the Dequeue synchronous to the queue(by setting deliverypersistpolicy to off.immediate) and set adapter.aq.dequeue.threads to 1.
    Hope it helps!!

  • Error with XMLType in AQ-Adapter

    I want to create an AQ-Adapter which dequeues a XMLType-Payload.

  • AQ Adapter + Singleton

    Hi,
    Here is my situation, we have to dequeue from an AQ one message at a time in a HA environment (2 managed servers). We have to dequeue with bpel or mediator, invoke a synchronous service and once we have the response from the service we have to dequeue the second message.
    We configure the AQ Adapter with these two properties:
    <property name="singleton" type="xs:boolean" many="false" override="may">true</property>
    <property name="adapter.aq.dequeue.threads" type="xs:integer" many="false" override="may">1</property>
    For some reason this isn´t working.. It keeps dequeuing the two messages at the same time..
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julian

    Check whether setting clusterGroupId property similar to SOA 10g would help.
    <property name="clusterGroupId" value="ProcessNameAdapter"/>

  • Sending PO data from Oracle APPS 11i to another Oracle APPS 11i

    I am trying to send the XML message (Purchase Order Data) from the Oracle APPS 11i to the other Oracle APPS 11i using XML Gateway and the AQ Adaptors in both outbound and inbound. I have created the Receive Activity for Outbound AQ Adaptor and the Invoke Activity for the Inbound AQ Adaptor and the Assign Activity in the middle to assign the variables for both Receive and Invoke Acvities.
    I have created a partner link using AQ adapter to Dequeuing the data from Oracle APPS 11i that generated by XML Gateway and also have created a partner link using AQ adapter to Enqueuing the data.

    Can someone help me on this?
    Thanks in advance,

    You have to integrate apps with BPEL using apps adapter and then from BPEL pass the message to Oracle B2B 11g -
    Oracle B2B 11g <---> Oracle BPEL 11g <--- Oracle Apps Adapter --> Oracle Apps
    As BPEL and B2B both are part of SOA suite 11g hence there is no additional cost and performance remain better.
    Preffered mode of integration would be through XML gateway.
    I could see that 856 outbound EDI map is available from Oracle but not the XML gateway map. If i have to use XML gateway then how i can create the XML gateway map.You may raise your question in apps forum -
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=108
    If you don't get any help there, raise a case with support.

  • BPEL Process for AQ Exception Queue

    Is there a way to configure AQ adapter to dequeue message from default exception queue. I have tried doing so but it fails to find the exception queue. If not then what are the better ways of handling exception messages for a multiconsumer queue.
    I need to enqueue the messages from exception queue once the issue is resolved.

  • AQ - XSD Schema Questions

    What I am looking to do is use BPEL for messaging (and manipulation of said messages) in the backend for data synchronization to disparate sources.
    Currently, we are investigating the following:
    Oracle 9i DB with a stored procedure that accepts a number of parameters (or XML Document in CLOB format), processes the document (updates, typically), and before returning, writing the output XML document to an AQ setup on that DB instance.
    BPM (installed on an OAS 10g server instance) would be utilizing the AQ adapter to dequeue this message for processing through the orchestration.
    This is where our difficulty begins. The message the SP generates is based on an enterprise schema (EBOD - currently), which is a relatively robust XSD. Currently, we're looking how to get the AQ adapter to pick up this message (should it be a clob?) off the queue and essentially cast it into our schema that we've imported into the BPM. We haven't had much success doing this so far. Implementing a ADT that is "typed" in the 9i DB by retyping the entire schema is unacceptable, for obvious reasons.
    I think what we're looking to do is take this clob and essentially "cast" it into a message format defined by our schema. Maybe there is a better way to tackle this problem, by using something besides a CLOB (XMLType isn't supported yet, but even then... would that solve our problem?), but I am unsure. We need the message in a manipulatable form in order to call additional web services (that have differing interfaces) by extracting certain elements and passing those. Additionally, we may wish to do some business logic, routing, etc.
    I can clarify what I'm looking to do, but basically 9i DB Stored Proc writes an XML doc to an AQ. BPEL is monitoring said AQ, picks up the CLOB (that type for now) and casts the message to it's schema that we've loaded (no transformation necessary, the schema is for the specific XML doc - ie. the doc validates to that schema) and we basically go forward and process the rest of the orchestration based on this message.
    Can anyone help me with this approach? Any other suggestions?

    Hi Todd,
    The AQ Adapter allows the user to pick a CLOB field within an ADT as the payload and supply a schema for its definition.(pick "Field within Object" for the Business Payload in the AQ Adapter wizard)
    Your 9i DB Store Proc would write to the queue which is defined based on the ADT, with xml payload stored in the CLOB field. The BPEL process would be able to pick up this payload thru the AQ Adapter.
    There is a sample illustrating this scenario in the installation.
    integration\orabpel\samples\tutorials\124.AQAdapter\ADT_with_CLOB_Payload
    Note the sample also uses payload header which is defined by the ADT structure to access fields other than the payload field. The use of headers is optional.
    Let me know if this is what you're looking for.
