Archived log file not displaying

While navigating around the "home" page for OCS as an administrator...I was trying to run a report under Reports>Conferences>Diagnostics.
The links says:
Click the link below to view comprehensive conference diagnostics. To see the log file correctly, use Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
I am using IE 6 and the page shows up as being done...but it is blank. Any idea what is wrong? The URL reads:

The file is there on the filesystem.

Stages means Transformations in Data flow...
Transformation names are not displaying correctly in log file.
for example if i given name as  "TC_table_name" for Table compare Transformation then its displaying only "Table Comparison"  in Log file

    I have Widows Server 2008 R2
    I have Oracle 11g R2
    I configured primary and standby database in 2 physical servers , please find below the verification:
    I am using DG Broker
    Renetly I did failover from primary to standby database
    Then I did REINSTATE DATABASE to returen the old primary to standby mode
    Then I did Switchover again
    I have problem that archive logs not registered and not imeplemented.
    SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log; 
    MAX(SEQUENCE#)

    I did alter system switch logfile then I ssue the following statment to check and I found same number in primary and stanbyd has not been changed
    SQL> select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log;
    MAX(SEQUENCE#)
             16234

    What I mean after I do alter system switch log file, I can see the archived log files is generated in the physical Disk but when
    select MAX(SEQUENCE#) FROM V$ARCHIVED_LOG;
    the sequence number not changed it should increase by 1 when ever I do switch logfile.

  • I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied.

    I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied. However I have received all archive log files to my physical Standby db
    I have created a Physical Standby database on Oracle 10gR2 (Windows XP professional). Primary database is on another computer.
    In Enterprise Manager on Primary database it looks ok. I get the following message “Data Guard status Normal”
    But as I wrote above ”the archive log files are not applied”
    After I created the Physical Standby database, I have also done:
    1. I connected to the Physical Standby database instance.
    CONNECT SYS/SYS@luda AS SYSDBA
    2. I started the Oracle instance at the Physical Standby database without mounting the database.
    STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initluda.ora
    3. I mounted the Physical Standby database:
    ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE
    4. I started redo apply on Physical Standby database
    alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session
    5. I switched the log files on Physical Standby database
    alter system switch logfile
    6. I verified the redo data was received and archived on Physical Standby database

    Hi,
    After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
    Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
    In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
    DGMGRL> show configuration
    Configuration
    Name: avhtest
    Enabled: YES
    Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
    Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
    Databases:

  • Archived log file are not shifted to standby side and applied

    My OS Version:Windows Server 2003
    DB Version:11.2.0.1.0
    I am trying to create Physical Standby DB on my test machine after setting all the parameters and start standby db in mount mode when i do the verification of archived log files that need to be shift from pri site to standby site i am getting:
    no rows selected.
    I am following the below mentioned doc for reference

    Yes the max sequence generated on primary is same as the max sequence applied on standby.
    And what is MRP and why it is important can you please let me know abt thisWhenever you created standby database, Make a habit of tail to alert log file to monitor whats happening on the standby database, Besides MRP is an Media Recovery Process , which applies archies/redo on standby database.
    MRP can apply based on the redo transport, If you are using real-time apply then Redo will be writtened to the standby redo log files at the same time recovery will be performed by MRP process, If you are not using Real-Time apply then whenever a archive generated on primary that archive will be transported to the standby and applied on the standby database.
    It is recommended to use Realtime apply, so that you can avoid much data lost.
    However you are in 11gR2, You can use below query to monitor

    After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
    Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
    In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.

  • "recover database until cancel" asks for archive log file that do not exist

    Oracle Release : Oracle 10.2.0.2.0
    Last week we performed, a restore and then an Oracle recovery using the recover database until cancel command. (we didn't use backup control files) .It worked fine and we able to restart the SAP instances. However, I still have questions about Oracle behaviour using this command.
    First we restored, an online backup.
    We tried to restart the database, but got ORA-01113,ORA-01110 errors :
    sr3usr.data1 needed media recovery.
    Then we performed the recovery :
    According Oracel documentation, "recover database until cancel recovery" proceeds by prompting you with the suggested filenames of archived redo log files.
    The probleme is it  prompts for archive log file that do not exist.
    As you can see below, it asked for SMAarch1_10420_610186861.dbf that has never been created. Therefore, I cancelled manually the recovery, and restarted the database. We never got the message "media recovery complete"

    Let me answer your query.
    =======================
    Your question: While performing the recovery, is it possible to locate which online redolog is needed, and then to apply the changes in these logs
    1.   When you have current controlfile and need complete data (no data loss),
          then do not go for until cancel recovery.
    2.   Oracle will apply all the redologs (including current redolog) while recovery
         process is    on.
    3.  During the recovery you need to have all the redologs which are listed in the    view    V$RECOVERY_LOG and all the unarchived and current redolog. By querying  V$RECOVERY_LOG  you    can find out about the redologs required.
    4. If the required sequence is not there in the archive destination, and if recovery process    asks for that sequence you can query V$LOG to see whether requested sequence is part of the    online redologs. If yes you can mention the path of the online redolog to complete the recovery.

  • How do I setup RMAN not to delete archive log files on the source database so GoldenGate can process DDL/DML changes?

    I want to setup RMAN not to delete any archive log files that will be used by GoldenGate.   Once GoldenGate is completed with the archive log file, the archive log file can be backup and deleted by RMAN.   It's my understanding that I can issue the following command "REGISTER EXTRACT <ext_name>, LOGRETENTION" to enable to functionally.   Is this the only thing I need to do to execute to enable this functionally?

    Yes this is the rigth way  using clasic capture.
    Using the command : REGISTER EXTRACT Extract_name LOGRETENTION.
    Create a Oracle Streams Group Capture (Artificial)  that prevent RMAN archive deletion if these are pending to process for Golden Gate capture process.
    You can see this integration doing a SELECT * FROM DBA_CAPTURE; after execute the register command.
    Then, when RMAN try to delete a archive file pending to process for GG this warning appear AT RMAN logs:
    Error:     RMAN 8317 (RMAN-08317 RMAN-8317)
    Text:     WARNING: archived log not deleted, needed for standby or upstream capture process.
    Then , this is a good manageability feature. I think is a 11.1 GG new feature.
    Tip. To avoid RMAN backup multiples times a archive pending to process, there is a option called BACKUP archivelog not backed 1 times.
    If you remove a Capture process that is registered with the database you need to use this comand to remove the streams capture group:
    unREGISTER EXTRACT extract_name LOGRETENTION;
    Then if you query dba_capture, the artificial Streams group is deleted.

  • Will RMAN delete archive log files on a Standby server?

    Environment:
    Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE on Solaris 10.5
    I am currently NOT using an RMAN repository (coming soon).
    I have a Primary database sending log files to a Standby.
    My Retention Policy is set to 'RECOVERY WINDOW OF 8 DAYS'.
    Question: Will RMAN delete the archive log files on the Standby server after they become obsolete based on the Retention Policy or do I need to remove them manually via O/S command?
    Does the fact that I'm NOT using an RMAN Repository at the moment make a difference?
    Couldn't find the answer in the docs.

    No, its not better, but I prefer to manage the archive. This method works, period.
    Does that fact (running a backup every 4 hours) make my archivelog deletion policy irrelevant?
    No. The policy is important.
    Having the Primary set to :
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON STANDBYBut set to "NONE" on the Standby.
    Means the worst thing that can happen is RMAN will bark when you try to delete something. ( this is a good thing )
    How do I prevent the archive backup process from backing up an archive log file before it gets shipped to the standby?
    Should be a non-issue, the archive does not move, the REDO is transported and applied. There's SQL to monitor both ( Transport and Apply )

  • How to restore cold backup + archived log files

    Suppose I take a cold backup on 18th. After that I have four days of archived log files. if the database crashes on 5th day, I have to restore the 18th cold back + 4 days of archived log files. How do I restore since it is a cold backup and I cant do incomplete recovery.

    Recover database ( with 18th cold backup) in mount state and apply archived logs.

    The details of how you perform forward recovery using a cold backup depends on
    1- rman or manual backup
    2- using current or backup control file
    3- if rman, recovery catalog or no recovery catalog
    4- if full database recovered or only a few files
    Each of these conditions will affect what is known to Oracle and what needs to be done. For example if you restored the entire cold backup including the control file then Oracle would see a consistent database and not need to perform recovery so you would need to startup mount and tell the database to perform recovery using a backup control file. If using rman and no recovery catalog you might need to catalog some of the archived redo logs, etc....
    It is advisable to consult the Backup and Recovery manuals before attempting recovery for any new scenario.

  • How to recover the database when some of the archive log file get deleted.

    I am facing a problem with Oracle database, which is related to archivelogs.
    Our development database is running in archivelog mode, but we don't have backups scheduled and have no recovery catalog.
    When the database was in running condition, disk got full, so some archivelogs were deleted manually.

    Hi,
    Archive log files are the copies of redolog files.As redo log files are circularly overwritten,oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten.So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information.To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file,you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

    I an using fusion 11.1.2.1 32 bit. I have Copied the Icons as well as GIF files in C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java folder.
    At button property i set Iconic to yes
    and file = addrow
    Icon not display at run time.
    but when i set file = abc.GIF
    image is displaying at run time.
    My doubt is that ICO file not displaying at run time while GIF file are displaying.
    Do i need to change configuration ?

    First Try this steps
    To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    Double-click My Computer, and then click Options on the View menu.
    Verify that the Icon file type appears on the File Types tab. If the Icon file type does not appear in the Registered File Types box, skip to step 10.
    Click Icon in the Registered File Types box, and then click Edit.
    Verify that the following settings exist, and then click OK:
    The Description Of Type box contains Icon.
    If there is a Confirm Open After Download check box, it should be selected.
    If the settings do not appear exactly as listed in step 4, click Remove, click Yes, and then click OK. If the settings do appear as listed in step 4, skip to step 10.
    Click New Type.
    In the Description Of Type box, type Icon.
    In the Associated Extension box, type ICO.
    Click OK, and then click Close.
    Use Registry Editor to view theHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.icokey, and then verify that the default string contains the following value:icofileIf the .ico key does not exist, create it, and then insert the value listed above. If any other values exist in the .ico key, delete them.
    Use Registry Editor to view theHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofilekey, and then verify that the default string contains the following value:iconIf the icofile key does not exist, create it, and then insert the value listed above. If any other values exist, delete them.
    Create a new key in the icofile key called DefaultIcon , and type %1 as this key's default value.
    Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.

    Simple way
    Copy your images to:

    Notes:
    - Icon files may not be supported.
    - In case of a Java security issue when using gif images, you will need to create a jar file and sign it with oracles sign-tool (see below, point 6).
    - In case you having trouble with oracle’s sign-tool, do it directly with java’s
    Recommended way
    1. Create a “icons” folder and place all your gifs in there
    i.e. “c:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\forms\java\<icons>”
    2. From within icons folder make a jar file of all the gif images:

    3. Copy this new jar into “c:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\forms\java\”
    4. Edit/update formsweb.cfg file:

    At this point your icons should work normally, but if you get a security check of Java for gif files then proceed to the next step to fix this. TIP: May need to restart the weblogic/forms server for changes to take effect.
    6. Sign your jar file with oracles sign_webutil.bat sign-tool.

    Firstly, you need to edit the sign_webutil.bat as follows:

  • Archived Log files

    Hello,
    I have a understanding problem off the function of the archived log files. My Oracle 9i Database is running in ARCHIVELOG. So if the online log files are full they get backed up to 3 different locations.
    However if I view now the v$archive_log view then I see all the archived log files.
    So now my questions:
    1. At which point does these archived log files get deleted ?
    2. If they never get deleted how do I know which archived log file can I delete.
    3. If I run a full hot/cold backup can I delete this archive log files?
    4. Is there any other way to delete the archived log files then using rman "delete input" option ? Like is there any way to delete the archived log files form the sqplplus prompt ?
    I have searched and read some articles in the net about it but it is always just about how to set up the db into archivelog mode but I was not able to find anything answering my questions.

    Out of the box, archived logs are not deleted
    automatically. However, you can delete them via
    RMAN. RMAN will delete them based on the set
    retention policy. You can see which logs and
    backups RMAN considers obsolete via the "report
    obsolete" command. RMAN keeps track of logs that
    are necessary for recovery, and those that can
    be safely deleted.
    Another option, as you have noted, is to backup
    archivelogs using RMAN, with the "delete input"
    option.
    The best option (IMHO) is to automate deletion
    of obsolete archive logs via a script. This
    can be done using the "delete noprompt obsolete"
    RMAN command.
    I'm not aware of any SQLPlus based method to delete
    logs. In any case, this would NOT be a good idea, as
    RMAN would not be aware of any such deletions.

    I m happy to have my datafile contents till yesterday morning.

    You mean you have taken an online backup and lost all your archive log files after that online backup?

    To perform a recovery with an online backup you will need all archive log files until the end of the online backup. If you have lost them you are not able to recover (or open) your database in a consistent state.
    So the only suggestion we can do is:
    You need the archive log files that were created during the online backup to perform an incomplete recovery ... if they are gone you can not restore your database.

  • How to remove archive log files using Enterprise Manger

    I took backup of the archive log files and i deleted those files at OS level but it is not reflecting in the Enterprise Manager it is showing the same. Can any one help in how to delete the archive log files by using Enterprise Manger.

    I have the same problem. I have 10gr1 and 10gr2 on different servers. On 10gr1, under administration/manage current backup/image, I can see archivelog files, and can mange them. But on 10gr2, the image doesn't show archivelog files. I can only remove them using rman. I wonder if it's because the different design on 10gr2 or I missed something when setup the backup?
