Are excel-macros running on IPad?

Instead of carrying my laptop, i would like to use an iPad.
I am using excel sheets with integrated macros.
Are these macros running on the iPad?
If yes, which app i have to use?

I've not seen any of the apps that can import Excel documents that can handle Excel macros, though it's possible I might have missed something. I rather doubt it, though, since macros depend on Microsoft's proprietary Visual Basic.

you will need to import the new .bas file located in the exceladin\bin directory on your machine. Doing that alone in most cases will upgrade the code, but in come cases it will break functions ad parameters have changed

Running Excel macros from ABAP

Hello everyone,
I am trying to execute an Excel macro from an ABAP program. We are currently on a 46C system. While doing some research on help.sap.com I came across the method execute_macro in class i_oi_document_proxy. Ive never used methods in ABAP before and Im not really sure what Im doing. Has anyone got this to work? When I try to run the program it dumps with error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED.

Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems that you have not fetched a handle to the document object before issuing the statement CALL METHOD document->execute_macro. Hence the error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED is being dislayed. I am pretty sure you can activate macros in Excel using the Run object in Lookout. I can think of two ways you can do this:
1. You can setup your Excel to run macros on startup using the Auto_Activate method. In this case, you will just launch excel with your workbook using the Run object and that should run the macros automatically. No brainer!
2. To better control as to when the macros are run we can assign in Excel some shortcut keys for their launching. We then would need to simulate these keystrokes to launch our macros. This can be done using the SendKeys method and some scripting, WHS Scripting for instance. See this pos
t for a scripting example which simulates Alt+Tab keys to bring-to-front an app.
You will launch the script from the Run object and this in turn launches Excel and then simulates the keys for luanching the appropriate macros. I admit this is kinda involved, but hey it works!

Macro in Excel 2010 running 10 times slower

I wonder if anyone here could help or explain a strange behavior in Excel 2010! I believe it is a bug in Excel.
In one of my workbooks I had some macros which after running for a while started to slow down (several times slower)!
To make a long story short I striped down the Excel workbook and created 2 really simple workbooks: one runs a macro in 0.25 sec, and a second one that runs the same macro in 3.3 sec. Both have identical macros and identical formulas in Sheet1 (only one
Sheet in each workbook).
Moreover, the "Good copy" workbook slows down if the "Bad copy" is opened. Once the "Bad copy" is closed the "Good copy" gets back to speed.
If the Calculation is set to manual then both are running fast (this points to a workbook re-calculation delay).
If in the "Bad copy" I delete the three columns with formulas and I recreate them in new columns, then the "Bad copy" gets back to running fast again.
It seems that Excel will compute only the required cells when a cell changes, which makes sense.
However, in the "Bad copy" those three columns must have something that triggers a new calculation of that workbook every time the VB writes to a workbook even if the macro runs on another workbook! This is very strange to me!
These simplified workbooks contain only one trivial macro (I made them just to isolate the issue):

slow down anyone's macro without even knowing it! I think I have other workbooks with the same issue.

Excel macro will not run with OLE

I have an ABAP program which builds an Excel macro with VBA code, downloads the file and inserts it into a new Excel workbook, and then runs the macro to populate the workbook. All of this is being done via OLE functionality.
The process works correctly for 99% of our user community. However, some users are having trouble where when the Run Macro command is executed, the program just hangs and nothing happens.
Here's a snippet of the code:

What's strange is that if after starting Excel I set the property VISIBLE = '1', everything works as expected.
The affected users are running on Windows7 with Excel 2010.

No, I don't. It's been my understanding that by omitting the "NO FLUSH" from a command, that the accumulated commands are flushed at that point. But I'll give it a try. Willing to try anything at this point.

Whoever told you that was misinformed or lying. Those applications are sold separately for the iOS platform and the Mac platform.

You are not speaking to Apple here. So none of us can "fix it."
TRy try quitting the Photos app followed by a reset of the ipad. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. Then Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

As my fuzzy understanding goes.....
Macros (excel, word, etc) run via a "OLE" extension of the script host system.
So the only way to run them is via the OLE interface. That has nothing to do with ODBC. You can write your own JNI to do that, or you might get lucky and find that someone else has written a java library to do it for you.

but if the same file if i try to open from hyperlink after deploying in Weblogic server , I get the error

I do not see any reason for this to not work.
Is there any difference between the preferences for RX and RXI. Please go to "edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Security(Enhanced)" and uncheck "Enable protected mode at startup".
Are you able to open any pdf from command line with the same command:

How do I make an Excel macro and Labview push to copy Labview calculated data into a cell on demand?

Hey there, I am a chemist so Labview and programming aren't exactly my strong point.
We have a Labview program that we run to control and automated valve manifold that has a thermocouple and pressure transducer that displays the temperature and pressure on the "front panel" of the labview file we run. The temperature and pressure of the manifold changes in real time while the labview is running. We must attach a sample to the manifold, take the pressure and temperature, then record those values in an excel spread sheet, one at a time.
What I would like to do is make a key board macro in excel to automatically type in the current read out of the temperature (and another for pressure) into which ever selected excel cell you are on, so that you don't have to switch back to the labview window to look at it. I have a very basic understanding of macros in VB but I don't know how to get the labview to make the read outs available for the excel macros to find it.

Why not have LV put the data in Excel for you? You can use Actvie X to do this. There is plenty of information on the forum and knowledge base on how to use Active X and reporting to Excel. Plus you have the example finder. Do you have the Report Generation Toolkit? LV7 is quite old, so I don't know if this is an option for you.

Best way to access Excel & Word documents on iPad

On my iMac I have a number of EXCEL and WORD documents created with Excel / Word MICROSOFT for MAC 2011.
I want to access these Word and Excel documents on my iPad.
I am confused as to what is the best way to do this.    Pages & Numbers with iCloud ........ or ....... CloudOn, the free, cloud based service that lets you run Word and Excel on the ipad????
When we are on holidays I need to VIEW or UPDATE Excel and Word documents on my iPad and then when we get home update my iMac with any changes that I may have made.
I do not need to print from my iPad whilst on holidays, only view and update.
Has anyone had experience with Pages and Numbers on their ipad using documents created with Microsoft for Mac 2011 on their Mac computer. Does it work well and is it user friendly doing what I want it to do as detailed above?

I was hoping that if I had the apps 'PAGES' (for my Word docs) and 'NUMBERS' (for my Excel docs) loaded on my iPad that I would be able to access my documents without having to have internet access.
I understand that to get them there in the first place I need internet access and then to update back to my iMac when I get back home I would need internet access.
I am relatively new to iPad & apps etc. so maybe I have misunderstood the concept. I thought that having the apps loaded onto my ipad, would mean that my documents would be there to access/edit/update when ever I needed to.   I mean of course, as I have already said above, once downloaded either by syncing through iTunes or iCloud to start with.
