Are there any Mail upgrades still around that don't require Tiger?

My subject is my question, really. I just need to upgrade my Mail so I can keep sending emails through Earthlink. I have Mail (apparently) 1.3.9. If anybody knows anything, would you let me know, too? Thank you.
powermac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.5)   use Mail 1.3.9

Are you running 10.3.5 and not 10.3.9?
I believe the 10.3 updates between 10.3.5 to 10.3.9 includes an update or updates to the Mail.app but whichever Mail.app version is included with 10.3.9 is the most updated version for 10.3.
Are you having a problem sending messages with your Earthlink account?

Good catch! Yes there was a time when many companies and other organizations did that sort of thing. Now not so much.
Intel still sponsors clubs see http://www.computerclubhouse.org.
You might also check around, there might be after school programs, sometimes the YMCA or Boys & Girls Clubs have programs.

  • Are there any 3rd Party metric tools that does metrics on who access pages?

    Hello Gurus,
Are there any 3rd Party metric tools that does metrics on who access iviews?
I am inquiring on a tool that we can determine how useful the iview(s) to
    the users community.
I understand that SAP has an ADC project.  But we are also interested if there
are ant 3rd Party tool that can aggregate the ADC flat file contents and summarize
the data.  Additionally, if the 3rd Party has out-of-the box reportable iviews.
We are also open to suggestions of 3rd Party tools that can capture user's iview
metrics without using ADC flat files.
And finally, my wish list: is there is a 3rd party tool that can capture when users'
clicks in the iview.  That is the ultimate metric to absolutely know if the iview is
    useful to the user community.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Are there any available upgrades or updates for osx 10.6.8

are there any available upgrades or updates for OS X 10.6.8       Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • Are there any good basic/feature phones that have been discontinued?

My brother currently has the Samsung Intensity II and it's giving him a lot of problems. After troubleshooting with tech support it is best for him to replace the phone. The insurance deductible is $45 but the phone will likely be refurbished. I am seeking a non-smartphone for him that I can purchase via eBay or Craigslist. Because he is 16, he wants some type of smartphone. Preferably the iPhone or a low/mid-grade Android phone. I won't allow him to get a smartphone until he gets a job and pays for the phone and monthly data plan.
I am sort of disappointed in the selection of basic phones on the Verizon website - there are only 7 phones under $100. It seems backwards that there are 23 smartphones under $100. The conspiracy theorist in me would think this is a ploy to coax customers to move towards smartphones but I digress. I have been looking at the Samsung Brightside and the ZTE Adamant (discontinued - not offered on vzw.com) and they seem pretty cool and reasonably priced on eBay. Are there any other basic or feature phones that you would recommend [including discontinued and upcoming phones]?
I would rather not purchase a phone directly through Verizon so that it does not extend the contract or interfere with his upgrade date (to ensure that he will be able to afford the phone of his choice when he is ready).

Another vote for the Env3 - son and daughter both had them (18 and 21) and they were more than adequate phones and worked well for them.  My son (now nearing 24) is still using his though he is eligible for an upgrade now - he likes it and sees no reason to change until it quits on him.
The Alias (original) was a good phone for my daughter before her Env3, and I really enjoyed my LG Voyager, touchscreen.  None of the phones require a data plan, if you can find them.

  • Are there any downloadable games still out there for 2nd Generation iPod?

I am searching for games that will download on an older iPod. Purchased two 2nd generation iPods on Ebay and am having trouble getting any games that are compatabile. Are there any still out there. Purchased these for 2 grandchildren. Help. Not only are there games, how do I download them. Can I do it from my computer? Can't find any in the app store on the iPod itself or have I just not looked hard enough.

They are there, but it's not easy to find these days.  At least your iPod touch can run iOS 4.2.  My old original iPhone can only run up to iPhone OS 3.1.3...
I used to be able to go into an app category in iTunes (on the computer), and sort the listing by release date, newest to oldest.  Then, I could go to the end of the list, and the older apps/games would be the ones that worked with the older hardware and iOS versions.  However, this method does not seem to work well anymore.  The lists do not appear to go back far enough, so the apps at the end of the list are still fairly new.
I found an app recently.  It's called VintApps.  You can go to the App Store using iTunes on the computer and search for it.  It costs 99 cents.  I can set it to "filter" based on iOS limitation (and other factors).  I can then browse in app categories (in the app), and it shows me lists based on the criteria.  Selecting an app from the list provides its description.  This lets me find apps that work with 3.1.3 (or 4.2 in your case)
Because older devices are slower (with a small screen), what I do is use VintApps on my iPhone to find something that looks interesting.  Then, I use iTunes on my Mac to find that app in the App Store.  If it looks good, I get it there (using my computer's iTunes) and sync it to my iPhone.

    Hi ^^FIRST_NAME^^,
Try to update your web browser and do a full Windows update and restart your computer. We recommend using FireFox. If you are using Flash, make sure your are using the latest version of Adobe Flash (download it for free at Adobe). If you are downloading videos, download VLC player which is free and can view all formats of videos.
If that doesn't work, restart your modem to refresh your internet connection.

Hi Joe & welcome to discussions
I think you mean stationary... MAIL Help has this to say about that:
    -=-=-=-
    Using stationery in messages
You can add a personal touch to a message by applying a stationery template, and even including photos. For example, if you’re writing friends to invite them to dinner, you can apply the Dinner template to make your message look like a professionally printed invitation.
    To use stationery:
1.) In the New Message window, click Show Stationery.
2.) To view the template choices, click a category, such as Announcements.
3.) To apply a template to your message, click its thumbnail.
    • You can change the background color of some templates by clicking the thumbnail. For example, click the Daisies thumbnail several times to see different background colors.
    • When you decide on a template, you can click Hide Stationery to see more of your message.
4.) To add images, drag a picture from your desktop or the Finder over a placeholder photo, if any exist in the template.
    • If you have images on your computer from using Aperture, iPhoto, or Photo Booth, click Photo Browser to view and select those images.
    • You can drag any folder of images onto the Photo Browser so the images are easily accessible.
    • If the image is larger than the placeholder photo, double-click the image to display a slider you can use to zoom in on an area of the photo. You can also drag the image around to show a specific area.
To remove a template from your message, click the Original thumbnail in the Stationery category. Any text, images, or formatting that you had added are retained.
If you use a template often, you can add it to the Favorites category. Drag the thumbnail over the category list. To remove a favorite, select it and click Remove (x).
You can create your own stationery. In a new message, enter and format your text, add images, and then choose File > “Save as Stationery.” Your custom stationery will be available in the Custom category, at the end of the list.
    -=-=-=-
If you google for os x mail stationary, you can also find many templates that are preconfigured from 3rd party sources.

  • Is the prores file that FCPx creates when importing c300 .mxf files stable/quality enough to then copy to other drives for further use? Are there any quality disadvantages to doing that?

Im wondering if I can directly copy the prores files fcpx creates when importing c300 .mxf files from the "original media" folder, reimport them for another project to and use them that way. Is there any problem with working that way? I'm doing this bc I want to have an organize finder structure for a client but cant break the c300 card structure to split clips on a card into different "scenes" to make it easier for them to understand what they're looking at. This is all to stay NLE nuetral--we like fcpx but they might want to edit somewhere else and more details in the finder level seems like the best solution? Suggestions on any of that? Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Are you sure that FCPx is working with .mxf/c300 natively? I thought it was just a background sort of repackaging or transcode into prores that it does without you having a choice? And bc of that, for me, it's sort of a "back end" feeling file: I'm curious if it's bad to get into the package contents folder to copy it over? Not about copying prores in general-- specifically, is the prores created of c300 footage in fcpx more of a fcpx, high quality alias file? Maybe I'm just feeling a little uncomfortable grabbing things from the inside/finder level of fcpx.

  • Are there any QR code reader's that work with the KIN twoM? Any web based appliacations? VZW based?

ANy help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Well thank you! I just recently learned about them myself  because the company I work for is about to start using them. Many companies are utilizing these now and I bet youll see alot more in the years to come. For example, best buy is actually using these on their price tags. Here, take a look: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=best+buy+qr+code&view=detail&id=07500A4A6E4E35B28119067F5FA2091D12CFCC6D&first=1&FORM=IDFRIR
See the QR on the lower left side? If you scanned that with your phone(or did I what I suggested with the kin), it would lead you to best buys mobile site for the item you are looking at.  With that link,  you can access further information about the product before you purchase it. Like all the specs listed online. So it seems like it could be a very useful tool. Recently bought a copy of Jack@ss 3d and a QR code was on there as well.  I believe that one linked you to some extra scenes or stuff like that.

  • Are there any Firefox upgrades from 2.0.0.20 for MAC OS X 10.39?

Ever since Firefox suggested upgrade to 3.6 I have been unable to reply or create new e-mail. I have an older Mac OS X 10.39 and am unable to upgrade to the Firfox version 3.6 from the existing version 2.0.0.20.

There are no updates available for you, Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version that works on OS X 10.3.9, later versions of Firefox require at least OS X 10.4

  • Are there any 3.5mm audio extensions that won't disable the microphone feature on my earpods?

I have an iMac with a single 3.5mm audio/mic combo input. I also have the apple earpods so the mic on the earpods will be used instead of the built in mic on the iMac when it is plugged in. However, the cable on my earpods are not enough and i was wondering if there would be a 3.5mm audio extension that does not cancel the mic usability on my earpods!

So just in case anyone else ever runs into this...
I solved the issue and it was that between the plug of the new earbuds being slightly thicker than the Apple earpods, and the width of the case that I was using for my iPod, there wasn't a connection being made to activate the remote function.
I took off the case and now the earbuds work exactly as they should!

  • Are there any FREE softwares or apps that I can mix songs with?

I want to mix a bunch of songs for a dance contest. And I want to be able to have it on iTunes.
    Thanks

None of the free semi-WYSIWYG editors, like NVu and Kompozer, are worth a darn.  They're all buggy and don't do a very good job, IMHO.  If you're interested in manipulating the raw source code by hand, the best tools for the job are just text editors.  But get one with features that help with writing HTML and PHP, like TextWrangler (which is free).  If you like TextWrangler, consider buying it's "big brother," BBEdit.
Other options are things like RapidWeaver, which are kind of like DreamWeaver on a smaller and cheaper scale.
