As Usual--Serious bugs in V2--Where is the QC at Adobe?

Here we go again.
Will the inevitable 2.01 bug fix be an upgrade to an installed V2 or a full install? No way do I want it on my machine until it is working properly unless I have to-- and that includes, especially, the keyword fix and the external editors workaround repaired, to name two obvious bugs.

At the moment we are experiencing too much delay.
It seems that Adobe connect server is not around Korea ,Japan nor China.
That's just my guess.

Depending on which cluster you have an account on they can be in a few locations in the US, Canada (I think) or Western Europe. Adobe doesn't have a hosted cluster in APAC, so it is likely that you are seeing lag due to communications to a server in the Western US.

Where is the Power of ADOBE in FormsCentral???

Regarding the graphic appearance of finished forms created using FormsCentral - I wonder if I'm missing something. I've used Adobe's awesome design tools for many years and recently subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud which I think is a pretty convenient service for staying up to date at a reasonable cost (thanks), but then there's FormsCentral which seems to have the creative look of third-rate generic form building tools found randomly on-line somewhere. Is there a control panel somewhere that I missed that gives me access to the awesome design power that I've grown to love in adobe or did you guys feel that forms weren't important enough to look good?
PLEASE tell me that there is more. Interactive forms are a must have and a challenge for designers who lack programming skills.

The templates that you have available do seem to have the fields that I'm looking for when I need to create a form. Therefore I opt for the custom form. The first issue is that the form doesn't allow much custom line depth capacity (the distance between a top field and the next field directly below it. There as always huge gaps of line space between two fields and the published end result simply does not loot attractive. I have seen plenty of forms out there on other websites that have sharp line spacing between fields, so I know it is possible to create such a look. Although I assume the developer of those sites have the html/css skills necessary to creat such a look. Given this fact, I am still Adobe of all solutions can not provide a tool that can provide the same graphic range.The first thing I was taught as a graphic designer was the importance of character kerning and proper line spacing.
For example: I needed a simple newsletter opt-in form including the name and email address. What I was able to produce with FormsCentral was a form that I was able to reduce to 300x300px but it should have been created with a height no greater than 200px with only 2 fields in the form.

Please take a look at the form in the lower right corner. 1st: there is too much space in the title bar, 2nd: there is too much space above and directly below the name field, 3rd: too much space below the email field and 4th: the send bar has too much line space consistent with the title bar above. Also the send button just appears down-right simple for Adobe standards.
The next thing, and I am completely baffled here, when I copy and embed the form link into my page, there is a HUGE (vacant) extended container window that forces the footer depth of my site far below where the reasonable eye would expect. Note: in the site sample, the space at the bottom of the home page, this depth was forced down by the this 2 field form. Had I not embedded the form I would have been able to end the page about an inch below the two cabinet boxes.
I could go on but these are the greatest issues for me at this point. If it weren't for these issues, I would say that FormsCentral was what I would expect from Adobe.

Where is the forum for Adobe Playpanel?

I need to find where to post regarding problems with Playpanel. Adobe Tech Support referred me to the forums, saying there is no phone support available. I cannot find anything similar in the 'All Forums' list. Please let me know. Thanks.

Believe it or not, I actually got an e-mailed response from a rep at adobe.com. There are known Playpanel issues with Windows Vista (my OS), which explains why I'm having problems. The fix for my above mentioned issue is to actually delete a startup shortcut elsewhere. This one is in the Start menu>All programs>Startup. Open this and there is the Playpanel startup shortcut. This must be deleted by selecting in right-click. It was the only item in that particular folder on my system. I've only used startup settings in System Configuration in the past. Never thought about even checking this other folder. Once deleted the app no longer starts on system bootup, so you want to make sure to put a shortcut on your desktop- installation of the software didn't include this. Find the appropriate folder in Program Files by verifying it starts the app when opened and right-click to create the shortcut.
Sorry there's no good location to post this info, but maybe it might help somebody looking around about Playpanel.

Where is the help in Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?

I've just purchased Adobe Photshop Elements 13 but can't find any proper Help. When I click on Help on the File menu, I am taken to a web page (Photoshop Elements Help | Photoshop Elements Help). It doesn't matter what I am doing (e.g. using the clone tool or trying to apply kerning for example), I always end up on this same non-context-sensitive web page. I am an experienced user of graphics software but am new to Photoshop Elements.
I'm trying to kern some text characters so I entered "kerning" in the Search field. The first "hit" was InDesign Help | Kerning and tracking but nothing they say seems to apply to my particular version of Photoshop Elemts - whcih being V13 is hopefully the latest. And who are they? Are they an official voice for Adobe? Their "help" was way off.
Could someone point me to the Help for Adobe Photoshop Elements 13?
As an aside, why does Adobe hit one with a 27 page legal agreement before one can install the software? I confess I didn't have my lawyer with me and may not have read all 27 pages.

I don't believe that you can kern in PSE as it comes out of the box. However, there is a very affordable add-on which allows one to do this. It is version specific.

BTW, Elements 13 itself is really good. I'm really pleased with its features and ease of use. It would just be nice to locate the relevant help more easily.
There are available several books which augment the native help files. Photoshop Elements - The Missing Manual - by Barbara Brundage is excellent. Where is the section on adobe.com for downloading Acrobat X Pro when we already have purchased it? I.e., old laptop out of commission, new laptop does not have CD/DVD drive for inserting application disc.

Serious Bugs

Hi Tim/Klaus.
I'm posting this here in the hopes that it will get a bit more attention than is being paid in Metalink. I've run into several serious bugs that need addressing:
1) If there are xml-special characters in the data coming from the database (e.g. an '&') then, according to the people at Metalink, I'm supposed to escape them. That's an unacceptable answer. I expect the parser to do that for me. That's why I bought it.
2) When using CVS as an output type, if a null value comes back from the database nothing is emitted into the output stream. For example, if I have 3 columns A, B, and C, if column B is null the jar's emit:
A,C
instead of
A,,C
which means I have to wrap every column in nvl(...) calls.
3) In the documentation it specifically states that you can dynamically append a WHERE clause to a query using PL/SQL functions (BI Users Guide, Part# B40017-01, page 4-32). I cannot get it to work and so I submitted a report to Metalink. They're answer was "we don't think that this can be done". The WHY is it in the User Guide???
4) CSV output sends out files with an extension of .txt which means you have to take extra steps to get the data into Excel (ok, so that one isn't too serious :)
5) When I configure the SSO server to use WNA (which I have gotten to work) when I try to launch the Word plugin and login, the server throws a 500 misconfigured error. It works if I don't use the SSO server.
6) The $CURRENT_SERVER_URL problem
These are causing us real headaches. Can anyone answer some of these questions?

1) Special characters should be removed, however, I don't know what your doing. By the way a parser doesn't remove anything, it parses.
3) Lexical paramters in where clauses in bi publisher enterprise 5.6.2 work like you would expect them to (like reports 6i), however bi publisher in the e-business suite they do not work as expected and lexicals are not treated by value. It's completly backwards since you would expect the functionality to work in 11i. With that being said, I don't know what your doing in your report. The functionality works.

SERIOUS BUG: Undo folder copy loses files put in folder

Ok, found a SERIOUS bug just now in the finder
1- copy a folder in finder
2- from inside a program, move or save a file into the new finder
3- in finder, undo the copy of the folder
the finder will remove the folder that was created without checking to see if any files have been put in that folder.
the files COMPLETELY disappear. I have just lost images from a shoot for the first time... EVER.
serious, serious, serious bug.
I don't have much hope, but does anyone know where these files may actually be? It seems like they're just gone

Do you have back ups of the media?
If you can't re-import them from the media source,
before you muck about too much, try & recover the lost data off your computer!
If you can't get it off your machine, & have wiped the media card,
you may still be able to recover from the media card using one of several utilities if you haven't overwritten there.

A serious bug of render "PAL" timeline by "Media Encoder"

I use premiere cc2014 at PC/Mac, I find a serious bug when I complete a job in a "PAL" setup time line (720x570 25fps (PAL) aspect ratio 4:3), if i export to a mpeg 2 file with same setup to "Media Encoder", the out put file become a "4:3" Pillarbox file (left and right become a black bar). But If I export file without using "Media Encoder", the file is prefectly same as the timeline setup. Since I always output timeline(s) in "batch", so I must need to use Media Encoder. Please help to fix that bug. P.S., I have try in CS5.5, CS6, there is no that bug in Media Encoder.

I had a similar issue only when using 3rd party plugin (Creative Impatience) that would go all catywhumpus on Encoder Queue outputs...it would mess with certain images or text that were not necessarily matching the project proportions (e.g. crop them, or ignore 1/2 of my Feathered Crop, etc.)
The solution was bizarre, and likely source-code default setting based...
After going to Media-->Export and when in the Encoder interface--before Queueing-- find a section on your timline with the scroll controls where the graphic is, make sure you are in Source Tab (top left), goto Crop Proportions; Use the drop down tab to actually set the Output dimension to what your sequence is (you won't have to actually export with this setting) and then switch to the Output tab. Does it now appear correct? That's it...undo the Crop Prop. and output normally. Hope this helps...
