Ask result sql trace events 10046 level 8 and 12

hi all, i read result of sql trace events 10046 level 8 on
http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/SQLTrace10046TrcsessAndTkprof10g.php#trace_example
and I do sql trace event 10046 level 8 or 12. But the results did not same, execution plan does not appear
how to have execution plan appears??

We use level 12 and we have both RSO (row source operation) and execution plan. Remember, execution plan is just the preditive estimate execution path by the opimizer. RSO is actually how the optimizer executes.

  • "Rows" statistics from STAT in trace event 10046, Oracle 11g.

    Hi, all!
    Why "Rows" statistics in STAT are different for 10g and 11g?
    I have two database with version 10g and 11g, with the same data.
    I executed some pl/sql code with tracing 10046 level 8.
    And I have different result when obtain raw trace.
    In 10g I obtain rows statistics for all executions - Rows= 7.
    In 11g I obtain rows statistics for first executions - Rows= 1. Why?
    See my example:

    Oracle 11g by default writes the execution plan (the STAT lines in the raw trace file) after the first execution of the SQL statement, while prior to 11g the execution plan is written only when the cursor is closed.
    The behavior in 11g can be controlled by changing the PLAN_STAT parameter of the call that enables the trace from the default value of FIRST_EXECUTION to ALL_EXECUTIONS:

    Default value on 11g is FIRST_EXECUTION, while the behavior prior to 11g is ALL_EXECUTIONS - corrected the incomplete sentence.

  • SQL Trace for schema level

    Hi
    Database 10.1.0.4
    Sql trace file which I have used but didn't get the trace file. I have tried to get per session Id but not able to get the trace file, when ever user logged into application, virtually 6 user get lgged in and you never know about user. So I have desided to capture for schema
    I have used this for tracing
    SQL> ALTER SESSION SET sql_trace=TRUE;
    SQL> ALTER SESSION SET sql_trace=FALSE;
    Or
    SQL> EXEC DBMS_SESSION.set_sql_trace(sql_trace => TRUE);
    SQL> EXEC DBMS_SESSION.set_sql_trace(sql_trace => FALSE);
    or
    SQL> EXEC DBMS_SYSTEM.set_sql_trace_in_session(sid=>123, serial#=>1234, sql_trace=>TRUE);
    SQL> EXEC DBMS_SYSTEM.set_sql_trace_in_session(sid=>123, serial#=>1234, sql_trace=>FALSE);
    I want to get trace file for schema, can anyone suggest how do I get trace file at schema level.
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
    Using instance-level tracing by setting the init.ora/spfile... parameter SQL_TRACE=TRUE, all processes against the instance will create their own trace files. This particular method of tracing should be used with care since it creates a great deal of overhead against the system. In addition, the default value for this parameter is FALSE.
    Cheers

  • Starting SQL-Trace Automatically - Transaction Code: ST05

    Good Morning Experts!
    I have got a problem with my "SAP - Business Warehouse (BW) System".
    We have very much Traffic on this System every night (between 03:00 and 04:00 a.m.).
    Because nobody is at work so early in the morning, I wanted to ask you, if there is a possibility to start the SQL-Trace (which you can call by transaction code: ST05) automatically.....?
    Is there a possibility to write a short ABAP Code to start the SQL-Trace automatically?
    Thank's and best regards.

    Hello Rob.
    Thank you for replying.
    I tried to create a job with the "Job Wizard" with SM36.
    Now i realized, that i have to wirte my own ABAP-Report (Programme), which uses the ST05 SQL-Trace function.
    I am not an ABAP-Professional, so would you be so kind and give me the code-lines of this programme?
    I can not imagine if you have to write only 5-10 lines or if the code is much longer...
    Thank you and best regards.

  • Extract SQL history from 10046 trace files

    Hi all,
    I need to extract the complete sql history from sql trace files to "debug" a client application.
    I know I can read the raw trc file and rebuild the sql history looking for the PARSING / EXEC / FETCH entries.
    However, this is a very long and boring manual task: do you know if there is some free tool to automate this task?
    thanks

    I agree that the 10046 trace captures everything. If I do read the raw trc file I see the DML. The problem is that tkprof's record does not record the DML (maybe it thinks that some DML is recursive sql and it gets misleaded... I am not sure) so I am looking for an alternate tool to process 10046 trace files

  • Help with "alter system set events = '1000 trace name ERRORSTACK level 3'"

    Hello.
    I am trying to find out wich sql code is creating the error ORA-01000 in my application (database release is 9.2.0.7). I have read this http://www.orafaq.com/node/758 and there they suggest doing this:
    Sometimes you will need to get a full stack trace of the problem by setting a trace for ORA-1000 as in:
    alter system set events = '1000 trace name ERRORSTACK level 3'
    or...
    alter session set events = '1000 trace name ERRORSTACK level 3'
    Then set open_cursors to a low enough number to catch the open cursor voilator in your net.I have no idea about this traces, so these are my questions:
    1. Do those commands force a trace every time the ORA-01000 errors rises in every session? (I have forced the ORA-01000 error in one sqplusl session after I wrote "alter session set events = '1000 trace name ERRORSTACK level 3'" in another sqlplus session)
    2. What does level 3 mean?
    3. I see that in the dump/user directory I have several trace files, how can I know which error traces are enabled in my db?
    4. How do I disable the traces once I find out to solve the problem?
    5. How do I identify in the traces the ORA-1000 error?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for all the answers.
    What am I doing bad? I have tried ti find out what traces are enabled, and there seems to be none.

    When I use sql trace and tkprof. After I use tkprof, I get the result statistics. However, I don't understand one point that I see many queries which I didn't run. I mean how come these queries executed? and by who?
    thanks

    some could be recursive sql statemets run by oracle. Post some example what you are running and what you are seeing?
    The SQL statements can be listed in a TKPROF report in the order of how much resource they used, if desired. Also, recursive SQL statements issued by the SYS user to manage the data dictionary can be included or excluded.

    Time to buy, Carry and Jeff's, award winning book of 2004, 'Optimizing Oracle Performance'. They have explained about the trace in-detail. Worthy to have a copy of it.
    For time being, go to, www.hotsos and download papers related to 10046event from their library.

  • Enabling alter system set events '1422 trace name errorstack level 1'

    Hello, please i need some help:
    I need to set events '1422 trace name errorstack level 1',
    where does this sentence generate the trace logs?.
    Once collected the information how do i disable it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Normally user dumps are written to the udump database parameter destination. See v$spparameter or v$parameter.
    You can set the level to "0" (zero) to set tracing off.

  • OCCI/ODBC application sql trace failure...

    Hi,
    I was doing the sql*net trace for an OCCI/ODBC Application writen in c++. I have an InstantClient on my PC. I was trying to access the Oracle through my C++ program to
    compare the performance of OCCI and ODBC.
    I was using the Oracle 10g(ver10.2.0.1.0 ), Oracle instant cilent(win32-10.2.0.3-20061115), and VS 8.0.
    TNSNAMES.ora:
    ORCL =
      (DESCRIPTION =
      (ADDRESS_LIST =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = host_name)(PORT = 1521))
      (CONNECT_DATA =
      (SERVER = DEDICATED)
      (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL)
    (SID = ORCL)
    LISTENER.ORA:(It was created by net manager.)
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
      (SID_DESC =
      (GLOBAL_DBNAME = ORCL)
      (ORACLE_HOME = F:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_3)
      (SID_NAME = ORCL)
    LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = HOST_NAME)(PORT = 1521))
    The sqlnet.ora file was writen to trace the client sql. Fortunately, my C++ program can access the oracle and get my result back successfully. In the same time, the trace files
    can be created, but when using the tkprof tool to explain it, it comes to the file with useless information.
    One of the *.trc file explaind by tkprof tool:
    Sort options: default
    count = number of times OCI procedure was executed
    cpu = cpu time in seconds executing
    elapsed = elapsed time in seconds executing
    disk = number of physical reads of buffers from disk
    query = number of buffers gotten for consistent read
    current = number of buffers gotten in current mode (usually for update)
    rows = number of rows processed by the fetch or execute call
    Trace file: ora21763.trc
    Trace file compatibility: 8.00.04
    Sort options: default
    1 session in tracefile.
    0 user SQL statements in trace file.
    0 internal SQL statements in trace file.
    0 SQL statements in trace file.
    0 unique SQL statements in trace file.
    327 lines in trace file.
    Finally, I got TNS-12518 TNS-12564 error. I tried to add DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF, but it didnt work. I traced the listener, the error occured in the listener.trc "
    ntt2err: soc 464 error " and " nsbequeath: error reading REDIR/NSE msg".
    I just cann't get the right trace file and cann't sovle the two errors(TNS-12518 TNS-12564). Can somebody give me some advices, please.

    Hi,
    The TKPROF facility accepts as input an SQL trace file generated when SQL Trace has been turned on for the system or a session, not a SQL*NET trace file. A SQL*Net trace file is a dump of raw data packets and communications at the SQL*NET layer. If you want to get performance statistics from SQL beign executed by your application, then you need to turn on SQL Trace not SQL*MET tracing.
    To enable SQL trace at the system level, you need to execute:
    alter system set SQL_TRACE=TRUE
    The NS-12518 TNS-12564 normally means you are running into some sort of resource deletion issue. This can be caused by various things. Make sure you are properly cleaning up and closing sessions in your application.
    Are you performing some sort of stress test or have you just written a Multi-threaded test harness that executes different types of SQL with OCCI/ODBC?

  • SQL Trace and Bind Values

    I need to capture bind values in SQL Trace. I am running Oracle 9.2.0.8. I will be running my queries from an application, not SQL Plus. I can use a after log on trigger to turn on trace. Has anyone done this with success? Are there any other ways to do this at the server level?
    Thank you for your input
    David

    Hello David,
    it is such easy ... you wouldn't believe it.
    Have a look at the pl/sql procedure "dbms_system.set_ev", with this one you can do this on session level: http://www.oracleadvice.com/Tips/dbms_system.htm#SET_EV
    There are also some other possibilities... but this should hit your question..
    To turn on:
    SQL> exec dbms_system.set_ev(<SID>, <SERIAL>, 10046, 12, '');
    To turn off:
    SQL> exec dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session(<SID>, <SERIAL>, FALSE);

  • How to scan 'immediate trace name SYSTEMSTATE level 10' trace files?

    Hi ,my 20 TB of database is hanging and my manager told me to run the following system state dump and anaylse the trace file to see which processes etc are hanging the database.
    SQL>alter session set events 'immediate trace name SYSTEMSTATE level 10';
    I got 2 trace files which are quite large....not sure what to look into.....can anybody plz suggest what to see if in them if database is not responsing
    Thanks
    gagan

    If you dump a couple of hanganalyze every 60 seconds or so. You will be able to see wait chains and identify sessions that are progressing(slow) and those that aren't(hung). Then you can reference this information with the process information in the system state dump. A level 3 or 4 is ok for what you want. Still, if you are not sure where to look in the first place, best to log a SR with Oracle.
