Assertion Failed Exception

In a Jsf application, i gave a commandLink as
<h:commandLink action="#{EmpBean2.showAll}" ><h:outputText value="ShowAllEmpDetails"/></h:commandLink>
and i got an exception :
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Assertion Failed..
Suggest me what the problem could be....

Remove weblogic catche and restart weblogic. To remove weblogic catche, delete ".wlnotdelete" folder and other folder for managed server (always take a backup when delete).

I am also facing the same problem.
My ODS has been developed in 3.1 and been upgraded to BI.
Now I have changed the description and activated and it is going to runtime error ASSERTION-FAILED.

When calling lua_error(L) (pushing a Lua error in an embedded lua interpreter in my CVI code), I have been encountering a complete crash. Not only does my code stop running, but the full CVI 9.1.1 IDE crashes without even an error message. When I look in the windows xp event log I find the following:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( CVI ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. When I recompile my project with visual studio, the identical code does not crash or cause any problems. Any insite on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

We are getting a strange issue, the application successfully joins the cluster but after start failing with following exception.
The cluster have three nodes storage disabled web-logic and two standalone coherence JVM's, we are using distributed cache with Local scheme

Hi
The problem is that you are making a re-entrant call back into a cache service from the service thread or worker thread of a cache service. This is a bad thing to do as you risk deadlocking your cluster by consuming all of the threads in the service. From the stack trace it looks like you are doing a get on a cache which is calling through to a cache store which is then doing a get on another cache.
For example, you have done a "get" on a cache, that has now consumed a worker thread (call it Thread-1), that thread is calling the cache store which is doing a get on another cache in the same cache service so will now consume another thread (call it Thread-2) so you now have two threads in use, Thread-1 will not return until Thread-2 completes. Now say you had 2 worker threads on your cache service and two "get" calls came in at the same time, Get-1 and Get-2. Both worker threads are now in use so when Get-1 calls the cache store to do a get on the other cache then it has to wait for a worker thread to become free to process the get. The same applies to Get-2, it is calling the cache store and waiting for a thread to become free. The problem is no threads will become free as they are all waiting. Hopefully that is a clear enough explanation of why you get the warning.

Lightroom 4 - "assertion Failed" error after install

I recently upgraded from 3.6 to 4. Previously, I attempted to install Lightoom 4 beta and tried to open a 3.6 catalog. When it did not work, I simply uninstalled that Lightroom 4 beta.
Now, when I installed Lightroom 4(Upgrade version), installation was uneventful. However, I cannot open the program without crashing. The error message is "assertion failed"   Additional detail on the error shows the following.

I assume this has something to do with remnants of my previous Lightroom 4 beta installation(which was subsequently uninstalled prior to full Lightroom 4 installation). Ok it is fixed now. Locating the Lightroom 3 catalog file and opening it in Lightroom 4 ( right click and choose program...) prompted me to upgrade the catalog. This fixed the issue

According to your exception log, the exception is thrown by ValueBindingImpl.getValue().
Why don't you set a breakpoint on it and debug stepwise?

Hi Rajesh,
This error was reported on our QA system error log, and only occurred a
couple of times in a very specific time frame. I will ask QA again if it
has happened since the first report.
However, even if this bug is minor and not production-worthy, what I am more
concerned about is the fact that the stacktrace seem to indicate the bug is
cluster-related, when we set our SLSBs to be non-clustered. Can someone
please confirm, given the ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml I've posted
below, that I have properly configured and deployed our beans to be
non-clustered? I don't want to introduce cluster overhead (and cluster
bugs) when we don't need to!

Assertion failed: t- numPointers == 0, ....

I develop software on true64 Unix 5.0 and use JDK1.3.1 beta 2 (Fast VM) , I found exception like this

exception system: exiting due to multiple internal errors:

Had anyone ever met this exception before , what is it wrong , and how can i solve it ?

Hi -
We also came across this problem. It seems to be related to using anti aliased text in a drawString() call. Interestingly it happens on the second call using a particular font.
Test case code is pasted below, which will crash the JVM on the second run through the main loop - i.e. the second time iterating through all the fonts.
This code was cannibalised from another example posted here a while ago.

SunStudio 12. 2 throws assertion failed: 0, file ../lnk/exrttiutils.cc

When compiling with SunStudio12 update 2 we get the following:
Assertion failed: 0, file ../lnk/exrttiutils.cc line 215
Since this is not part of our code base, we assume its part of the compiler support stuff. As you can see the error message does not provide us much help in finding where in our code this is occurring, any ideas? We'd love to produce a testcase but don't have clue where to begin...

The assertion is actually coming from the runtime library libCrun.so.1, and it fires when an "impossible" situation (like a corrupted virtual table or exception record) occurs during exception handling. If this assertion happens at compile time, and not run time, some compiler component is at fault.
Please add the following two options to the command line that resulted in the assertion:
-filt=%none -V
The -filt=%none prevents the verbose output (-V) from being scrambled, and the last component listed before the assertion is the one that failed. Please post your results here.
We will then need a test case, but let's be sure what is happening first.
