  • Assets or Products business packages message : NO_FIELDS_DEFINED

We have installed the business packages for assets and Products 50.3 .
After installing we get on the Portal the message:
    NO_FIELDS_DEFINED
Do we have to do any customization on the SAP 4.6
    after installing the packages ?
Where is the documentation for it ?

    Hi David,
a very quick way to access the documentation of any Business Package is to go to the Portal Content Portfolio here on SDN at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/contentportfolio.sdn.
You can search for the Business Package when you go to the Search Portfolio link.
The detailed for a package will contain the link to the online documentation as well as the pdf version for download.

  • Unable to open Document from Asset Business Package

    Hi,
We have installed Asset Business Package in portal. Almost everything is working fine. But when we try to open a document (PDF ) attached to an asset by clicking the document link in the page, a new browser window opens with a text inside. The PDF  does not appear.
The text is actually a URL. If we copy this and paste in any browser window, it opens the actual document.
e.g. when we click the document link, the browser opens with the following text written inside it -

  • Business Package for Asset Services, implementation & integration

    Hello,
We have installed Business Package for Asset Services in EP6.0 and integrated it with back-end system. The package works fine but on some iViews (equipmentpartners, functionallocationpartners, equipment, functionallocation, configurationshow) we have following runtime error:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/com.sap.portal.migrated/ep_5.0/roles/com.sap.pct.eservice.operator/eservice/nf/InstallationManagm/com.sap.pct.eservice.partners.equipmentpartners
    Component Name : null
Page could not create the iView.
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I’m novice in SAP EP and need help, can anyone help me please?
    Best Regards
    Raka

    Dear Ranko and others,
The problem lies in the lowercase and uppercase of the specific shared ressources within the deployed file default.properties of the business partner. Also the link to the PDV isnt the same anymore.
I had the same problems and by analyzing the logs of the nwa I found this solution. Donwload the files and replace the names with lowercase and making the reference to th PDV as well. Then upload this packaged PAR file again.

    Hi Team ,
I have find out the source code of the Package from dba_source at text column .
    How can I find out
*1 .where the Database is mounted ie Server information and*
*2 .Name of the Sql file contains the package body*
*3 .location of the file in the Server*
    Regards ,
AugustineHi - the source code isn't read in from a file by the database, it's actually stored in the database itself (have a look at the user_source view). Now you may have text files backups of your source code, that have been used previously to create the packages, but the database won't store any info about the file used to do this.

  • Empty iViews in PLM Business Packages (Enter Asset, Enter Project etc)

    Hi All,
We are implementing SAP PLM Business Packages 50.3.1 in SAP EP 6.0 SP16 with a SAP 4.7 backend.
We have noticed that certain iViews do not seem to work correctly - they display no entry fields at all.  For instance, in the Assets Business Package, the Asset Details Page contains a Choose Asset iView in which you can choose either Functional Location or Equipment.  When choosing either of these, the Enter Asset iView should refresh and display the appropriate entry field.  ie. either 'Enter Functional Location' or 'Enter Equipment'.  Instead, it displays absolutely nothing (ie. the Enter Asset iView remains blank).  This problem also occurs for projects in the Projects business package.
Has anybody seen and resolved this behaviour for the PLM business packages?
Any useful thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Regards
    John Moy

    Hi All,
Thanks for the responses.  Thanks to your input, I have solved the problem.  Basically, we are working on copied versions of the pages and iViews (ie. copied into our custom folder in PCD).  Our users do not have access to the original SAP iViews.
I noticed (after reading the documentation page 116 which you referenced), that for our copy of the component loader, the parameter Java_IView_Directory was still pointing to the standard SAP location, which our users have no access to.  This explains why the iViews are blank.  When I amend this parameter to point to our custom location, everything works!
Thanks again for your input.  Points awarded.

  • Business Package for Assets 50.3.1:  Error in Source. Message not available

    Hi
Just deployed the Business Package for Assets 50.3.1 on Portal version 7 with SP8, when running the Assets detail, my assets iviews always display:  "Error in Source. Message not available."
even all other iviews on the same page still work as expected.
has anyone got the similar problem before? please help!!!
    many thanks in advance!
    Gang

When logged on to R/3, choose the following from the menu:
    System > Status...
In screen area "SAP System data" click on the button next to "Component version".
Look for the component named only "PI", and check wether it exixts and what release it is, it should be at least 2003_1_XXX (where XXX represents your R/3 Appl version).
Also, check that you have the component "WP-PI" installed with the release 600_XXX (where XXX corresponds to your SAP Basis release).
I know I needed to check/install these two when I configured the Assets package.

  • Portal Content - Business Packages for CRM 7.0 and IC Webclient

    Hi all
    <p>
We are looking at CRM 7.0 and SAP Netweaver Portal 7.0 integration.<br>
I've noticed that the Business Package (BP) for CRM 7.0 contains very limited business roles for:<br>
    Channel ManagerChannel Manager<br>
    Partner Manager<br>
    Channel Manager (Telecommunications)<br>
    Partner Manager (Telecommunications)<br>
    Customer<br>
    Digital Asset Management<br>
    Incentives and Commissions<br>
    only.
    <p>
In the past, there the BP for CRM 5.0 contains a lot more roles including customer service representatives and managers. Given that the standard business role export  (from CRM 7.0) and import (EP 7.0) does not work for IC Web client business roles, is there a standard way for functionality delivered in IC Webclient like Customer Service to be integrated into EP 7.0?
    <p>
Otherwise, if we were to configure each BSP page individually for IC Webclient, will there be functions that do not work? eg: alerts, manager realtime view of CSR activities, call tracking, telephony integration etc..
    <p>
    Thanks!

There are two approaches (that I'm aware of):
    - install external authentication (such as an LDAP which can be populated from the R/3 backends)
    - install an additional Java instance
I would go for both of them because
    - it will make things easier if you implement other functionality that is in the portal (non-ESS)
    - it will avoid patching one portal and to keep the SPs of both backend systems in sync with the portal

  • Error in Import of Business Package

    Hi,
I am trying to import Asset Service Business Package in EP 5.0. But it's unable to find some of .epa files and hence not uploading the Business Package correctly.
I have successfully uploaded business package for ESS.
Is there some problem in the Package??
    Thanks

Um.. I thought .epa files only came in in EP6.  So you may have the EP6 version of the business package and not the EP5 one.

  • Error message in Business Package

    Hi All,
We have deployed the Business Package for Asset Services. On selection of a Functional location or equipment, I should be able to create a measurment document for a measurment point.
However everytime I do it, I get an error message <b>"Message from backendErrors in Field Catalog: FIELDNAME =".</b>
Any idea how to crack it..??

  • Portal's business package activation for OAOM - EAM innovation.

    Dear experts.
Iu2019m looking forward to use the Optimized Asset Operations and Maintenance. Itu2019s an EAM 2010 innovation. Iu2019ve been told that it is basically some portalu2019s business package activation and I could have the user interface simplification and visualization ready to use.
Do you know which business package do I have to activate? Is there any business function I have to activate in order to use the OAOM? Besides the portalu2019s business package activation, is there any additional effort the Netweaveru2019s team most do in order to activate the OAOM?
Thanks for all your information regarding the OAOM innovation.

    Hi Alberto,
SAP Portal 6.0 has already a built in functionality called "Portal Activity Report". This is an iview you could use to monitor daily portal activities..

  • Business Package - hardcoded "WebGui"

    Dear all Portal experts,
For a numbers of business packages (eg. Assets Management) there are some Iviews that use the ITS for accessing the SAP R/3 data. I can see that the URL looks like:
    http:/...com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction?System=SAP_R3_PLM&SAP_TCode=IW33&SAP_GuiType=WebGui&SAP_Dynp_Params=CAUFVD-AUFNR=812441&SAP_Dynp_OkCode=IHKZ
Please notice that the "SAP_GuiType=WebGui" sends the Iview to the ITS.
But I would like to use the "SAP GUI for JAVA" instead, and if I replace the "SAP_GuiType=WebGui" with "SAP_GuiType=JavaGui" I actually works perfectly! - so my question is - how can I customize this - or is it possible at all?
    Very best regards

    Hi
    Haven't tried this myself.
As per the information available at following link:
    [Business package for Assets|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/c0242ba8-836d-2910-81bb-d6a9f8a2a4e7]
it should work on ECC 6.0 and EP 7.0 combination.

  • Best Practice in using Business Packages

    Hi All,
Are there any Best Practices in the use of Business Package content?   Do you assign the Roles delivered by the Business Package and do you make changes to the original iViews?
    or
Do you copy the content delivered in the Business Package to a new folder and work with there?
These questions are purely at the configuration level and not at the Java coding level.   For instance if I want to turn of the iView Tray, or change a parameter such as height, or even remove an iView from a page or Role.
I would like to know the various approaches the SDN community uses and the different challenges and benefits that result in each approach.
Look forward to hearing from you all
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
I also build my own roles. The only time I might use the standard roles is for demo purposes early in a project.  You will find that in some cases the business packages like MSS don't always even include standard roles, so you have no choice but to build.
I never change any of the standard iViews/Pages/Worksets - ever.
The most contentious issue seems to be whether to do a full or delta link copy of the standard objects.  I tend to initially do a full copy of the objects into a custom folder set in the PCD and modify those. Then I only use delta links from Page to iViews where I need the option of setting different properties for the same iView if it appears in multiple pages.  Delta links can be a bit flakey at times, so I tend to only use them where I have to.  I suspect that I may get to a point where I don't use them at all.
    Just my 2 cents worth....

    John

  • Relationship between Portal and back-end roles in business package

    Hi all,
I wonder how technically works on the backend system when I install a BP for SAP EP. Let's say for example that I installed on the portal the business package for SRM. I will have on the Portal some roles configured (buyer, supplier, invoice manager, etc), and some iviews in them organized by pages and workest.
How can I see the relations with those roles and the roles on the SRM backend system? And then: if I modify a standard role on the Portal, adding new functionalites (iviews), I do update the backend role? We are going to implement SSO, and users will be the same on Portal and backend system. But that also means I need to assign users to backend roles on the backend system, isn't it?
I would be glad to you if someone can provide me also a link to a document explaining the relationshipe between backend roles management and portal roles management.
    Thanks a lot,
    Valentina

To add.. no, you will not update a backend SRM role if you update an iView on the Portal. The Backend roles will always be assigned to the user via PFCG and do not change automatically with the Portal roles.
This help document might help you understand the concept better (Look at the Permissions vs Authorisations section):
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c605c690-0201-0010-e8b5-94677245a46b
Hope this helps. I am sure SAP/SDN library has many such documents that you can read through.
