ATV2 Screen Colours Are Incorrect (and Unchanging)

I am trying to use the new Apple TV 2 with my Panasonic TX-32LXD700A television but the colours are all wrong; blues are green, yellows are pink, etc. The odd colouring also affects the on-screen menus. Note that this is different to the "HDMI handshake every 20 to 30 minutes" problem, in my case the colours are always incorrect and unchanging. The device plugs in via HDMI. I have tried swapping the to the second HDMI port. I've tried a second cable. I've tried changing the order in which the devices are switched on from cold boots. Nothing works. The picture and sound is otherwise fine. Switching to another input forces the normal colouring to return to all inputs, but as soon as the Apple TV 2 has finished booting the colours switch to the incorrect space. The firmware of the TV is given as version 3090-10000. There are no options in either the user menus or the service menus to change the colour-space. I plugged the Apple TV into a computer monitor using a HDMI-DVI cable and the colours appeared fine. Please help!

I called Apple and whilst the guy on the phone was very understanding he was unable to help. I was hoping there was some secret combination of the remote buttons that would see the colours spring into life, but no.
I called Panasonic and asked for access to the latest version of the firmware for the television. They are sending it to me on an SD card via courier at no charge (one would think that it must be cheaper to host it on-line). The new firmware addresses a "sound distortion" issue (which I can recall happening occasionally sometime ago) but here's hoping it fixes my ATV2 colours too.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Mac Book Pro mid 2012 screen colours turned red and purple (similar to rainbow colour)

When I turned on my MacBook earlier, which was in sleep mode for all night, all the colours turned red and purple. The screen pixels were all a kind of red but the computer was working as usual. I turned it off and then back on and the screen was ok. Then I turned it off again for about 6 hours and now the colours are ok. Does anyone know what might be the problem? I am running on a MacBook Pro 13'' Mid 2012 (OS X Maverics) and it is the first time it's done anything like this. I read on Apple Support that maybe the CPU is failing, but when i run the System Diagnostics Test I think it turned out ok. I appreciate all answers.

Setting up an email account - it keeps saying the username or password are incorrect and they aren't......

I am trying to set up my new Google mail email address on my iPhone 3GS but it keeps throwing up a message saying that the username or password are incorrect. I have checked and they are definitely right, why is it telling me this?!

Check capitalization. The password is certainly case-senstive, and your username/email address might be as well. In the case of the password, you must get it exactly right. In the case of the username/email address, you can usually enter it as all lower case. Also, try your username with the @gmail.com suffix; your username might not be accepted without it.

Screen Grab Colours are dull and don't match original.

I'm running photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 64 bit.
A quick technique I use is to do screen grabs of what I'm working on rather than saving and opening a jpeg.
I do this with alt+print screen. It's worked fine until a few days ago I noticed that the colours were really dull
and didn't match what I had in the original PSD.
When this happens I don't leave Photoshop or the screen I'm working on. I'm doing a screen grab of the
design I'm working on already in Photoshop.
I would expect this if I was grabbing from a different screen or app that perhaps used a different colour
profile but I can't figure out why this is happenign natively within only Photoshop.
I guess something must have changed in some obscure colour management document that is stashed
away in a corner of my hard drive that I have no chance of finding.
Does anybody know why this is happening and what I need to do to fix it? I've been using this technique
for years and it's only now that I discover this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

What kind of monitor do you have?
Is it specifically capable of showing its display with the sRGB gamut (you'll likely have to look in the technical specs for that)?
It is possible to set up a system where the monitor color profile is sRGB (basically, the Windows default), and at that point the colors from non-color-managed applications and those from color-managed applications showing sRGB images will match exactly.
The trick is getting the monitor to show a very good semblance of the sRGB color space, so what you're seeing is proper color. But it's doable.
I assume you're calibrating/profiling your monitor with some device now. What device?

APPLE TV 2 HD model and updated to latest version 6.1.1 since doing that it won't set date and time and tells me my Apple ID and password are incorrect and I know there not. What do I do?

It connects to internet fine. I have tried restoring back to factory condition and hard wire update by connecting it to my Mac mini .
The date and time won't set. And won't acknowledge my Apple ID and password......... I am usually tech savy but this has caused me grief .
Do I need to downgrade my update....
But can't get any menus until I log in my apple account...
It can't log into my iTunes account until time and date have been set.
When I did the hard wire restore connected to Mac mini it wouldn't go past the date and time screen as it wouldn't when I did the wifi update too.
it just would get past that screen.
Anyone help!!

Auto curves colours are incorrect

Hi all,
A problem has recently popped up with the "AUTO" button on my curves adjustments.
For some reason, every time I hit auto, rather than correcting to a white balance, it puts a flesh coloured hue over everything.
For an example of what I mean, I created a brand new image, a white square 250x250. When I added a curves layer, then pushed AUTO, the colour was shifted as can be seen in this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/Qaoky.png
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Maybe the default values for the auto options have somehow changed.
Make a curves adjustment layer and from the curves panel flyout
menu, select Auto Options and check the values. (click on the
color icons to the right of each)
The default RGB values:
shadows 0,0,0
midtones 128,128,128
highlights 255,255,255
Then check save as defaults.

Delete your mail account and create a new one.
Sometime it's because the server is busy or down.

An Update on this issue. I changed the screen and the problem still exists.Flickering has stopped for the moment.

Since installing iCloud I am in able to sync my iTunes library to my iPhone 4, songs are missing the playlist are incorrect and when I try and play music the cover are and songs do not match. HELP anyone one else have this problem?

The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.
