  • How to Authenticate the Web Service from my Java Client?

    Hi All,
    I am a newbie. I am working in Microsoft Technology. But due to a critical requirement, I am suppose to write a Java Web Service Client application. I some how managed to create the Client Application. The application works fine if the Authentication is turned off in the web service level itself. I am unable to or unaware of authentication in Java World. I have written a .NET Client application where I am able to set the Credentials but in Java world no property or method allows me to set it.
    Anybody knows how to solve this problem?
    My configuration is,
    JDK - JDK 1.5.0.16
    IDE - Netbeans 6.1
    Web Server - Tomcat 6.0
    SOAP - Native C++ SOAP
    How do I did?
    - Created a Java Web Service Client Application.
    - Added the Web Reference to the SOAP WSDL url.
    - Initialized the class object using the WSDL generated SOAP classes (Reference classes)
    My code look like,
    String result = "";
                try {
                    QName name = new QName("http://eaglesuite20/eaglesoap.wsdl", "eaglesoap");
                    eaglesuite20.eaglesoap.Eaglesoap service = new eaglesuite20.eaglesoap.Eaglesoap(new URL("http://phobos:1011/?wsdl"), name);
                    eaglesuite20.eaglesoap.EaglesoapPortType port = service.getEaglesoap();
                    // TODO initialize WS operation arguments here
                    eagle.Request submitRequest = new eagle.Request();
                    submitRequest.setRequestType(eagle.RequestType.E_B_SCHEDULE_DEF);
                    submitRequest.setOperation(eagle.Operation.READ);
                    eagle.FilterDefinition filter = new eagle.FilterDefinition();
                    filter.setField(new JAXBElement<String>(new QName("urn:eagle", "Field"), String.class, "SHOW_SCHEDULED"));
                    filter.setValue(new JAXBElement<String>(new QName("urn:eagle", "Value"), String.class, "SHOW_SCHEDULED"));
                    filter.setOperator(eagle.EOperators.EQUAL);
                    eagle.FilterDefinitions filDefs = new eagle.FilterDefinitions();
                    filDefs.getFilterDefinition().add(filter);
                    submitRequest.setFilterDefinitions(new JAXBElement<eagle.FilterDefinitions>(new QName("urn:eagle", "FilterDefinitions"), eagle.FilterDefinitions.class, filDefs));
                    // TODO process result here
                    result = port.submitData(submitRequest);

  • Using InfoPath and the Web service GetUserProfileByName-An error occurred accessing a data source

    Hi, Everyone,

    I fill the form online, it occurs this error as folllowing. Anyone knows why and how to solve this problem?
    Thanks forward!

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you get error when using the Web service GetUserProfileByName in InfoPath.
    Have the InfoPath form template call web service in code? If yes, please see following KB and check if it is the cause.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981684
    You can also
    follow the steps in the article to resolve this error in InfoPath. Please refer to:

    In addition, you need to disable the Loopback check.

  • Authentication via Web Service

    I'm working on a custom Page Sentry function to tie HTML DB to our existing web Authentication scheme. I've got most of it sorted out, but the glue I'm missing is a call to verify the session details to our external system.
    Preferrably, I'd like to use a Web Service to check the session. That is, from within the Page Sentry, call a Web Service, passing it session details, and getting back the response to determine whether to continue or not. (Note: "Session" here refers to our external Auth system, not HTML DB sessions)
    Is this possible? (Or: Is this feasible?)
    How can I call a web service from within PL/SQL?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
    You need background information on the HTTP ABAP user authentication concept.
    Read :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/b0/4d2b418a3edb2be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    You should get useful information and come back eventually with specific question.
    It is not possible to authenticate with a web service (hopefully because that would be a big security risk). It is even the contrary : you must be autenticated to call the web service.

  • Implementing authentication for web services

    Hi all,
    I'm struggling trying to guess how to implement basic HTTP authentication as well as using certificates in order to apply HTTPS, for some web services we've created, running on the Oracle Application Server 10.1.12. The web services were implemented using JDeveloper 9.0.4. Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks in advanced and regards,

    Hi,
    But, I need to develop the web services logon method using WSDL which generated the LogonBindingImpl.java, instead of web services using EJB bean.
    Besides, the Web Service logon method (LogonBindingImpl.java) need to accept the input user name and password to check with the user name and password that stored in database table through the EJB bean. If checking successful, client program is allowed to invoke other WebServices method, else login failed exception need to be thrown when client calling other web services methods.
    Appreciate the advice here on how to achieve that. Thanks.

  • User Authentication for Web Services

    Hi,
    I am developing a web services that resides in Intranet. Thus, would like to implement application layer of user authetication, i.e. to match the input user name and password against Database record through a web service logon() method. If authentication is passed, the client program is allowed to call subsequence web service methods, else exception needs to be thrown when calling subsequence methods.
    As understand that each method call to web services is treated seperately. Thus, how can we implement the authentication so that the client program only passes in the user name and password at once through logon() method, instead of perfoming the authentication for each method?
    Appreciate the advice. Thanks.

  • Adding Authentication to Web Service using JDeveloper

    Hi Gurus,
    I am new to weblogic 10.3 and Jdeveloper 11.1.3. Using Jdeveloper, I imported few packages from database , right clicked and published them as a webservice on a weblogic server. I did not select any WLS policies. The web service is working fine. Now i want to add some basic authorization (username/password) to this webservice.
    Which policy should i use ?
    Where should i configure this username\password so that all the webservices uses same user for authenctication ? Do i have to create this user on the weblogic server? If yes then how.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    If you are using JAXWS based WebService then you can give it a try:
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/01/09/username-token-in-jaxws-webservice/
    This sample demonstrates ..How we can use UserName/Password Authentication in JAXWS Service. This will be very Easy for you to develop using JDeveloper...U need to Just the add Following XML file as a Policy inside your Application.
    Using the following Policy:
    <font color=maroon>
    <?xml version=”1.0″?>
    <wsp:Policy
    xmlns:wsp=”http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/09/policy”
    xmlns:sp=”http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-securitypolicy/200512″>

  • Can not test the web service in JDeveloper.

    Hi there...
    I created an AppModule, added two custom methods, and generated a webservice for that. When I want to test the webservice I get the error "The Webservice Tester cannot be invoked because the WSDL document of the selected service cannot be read."
    If I right the webservice and select run, I can view the web page to invoke the methods, However I am wondering why I can't test the service inside the developer.
    The settings of my system are as follows:
    OS: windows 7 64bit
    JDeveloper: Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 , Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660
    I did not install any update for JDeveloper...
    So if anyone is having an idea what this problem is let me know.
    thanks .

    It seems that even if the test web service option does not work and i get the error, it is possible to run the web service, and then by clicking on the link in the log the tester in jdeveloper appears.
    Don't know the reason for such strange behavior.

  • How to access the Web Service Browser

    Hi,
    I need to access the Web Service Browser to generate a Web Service Description.
    How can I do it?
    I use the follow url:
    http://<host_name>:<port_number>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/WebServiceBrowser/search.html?sap-client=<relevant_client>
    but I can't say how to determine values for the three placeholders.
    Help me please.
    THANKS

    Hi Andrea,
    you can access the web services in sap transaction SICF. Then right click on the
    service and choose "test". The hostname is the host on where the sap system
    runs.
    The port ´number can be seen in transaction SMICM -> shift + F1. Here you can see
    the portnumer assigned to the HTTP protocol.
    And the client is the sap client (standard client) for which the service is configured.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Luis,
    If you see closely, the productID is actually a concatenation of the areaID and the productID. The reasoning here is that a product can be in multiple nodes of the product catalog and one would need to specify the product on a particular node for the direct URL to work.
    On a client site, we came up with a better solution by creating a new FM to retrieve the specific areaID and productID for a product. This FM could be called by extending the webshop. Then a .NET program was written to re-direct a shortened form of the URL to the long URL and therefore the specific product in the product catalog. Eg.: http://yyyyy.com/b2c/b2c/product would be automatically redirected to http://yyyyy.com/b2c/b2c/init.do?shop=<shop name>&areaID=<area Guid>&productID=<product Guid>, something similar to the concept behind "tinyurl.com". A point to remember here is that this would work only for the B2C webshop.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Ashok.

  • Performance problem submitting big XML string parameter to the web service

    We deployed a web service on the OC4J via oracle.j2ee.ws.StatelessJavaRpcWebService . This web service takes one string as a parameter. The string contains XML. Evrything works great UNLESS input XML string reaches 5Mb in size. When it happens OC4J does something with it for about 10 minutes (yes, minutes) before it calls the web service method. At this time java.exe consumes 100% of CPU.
    WE tried to increase JVM heap size, stack size, etc, - no effect.
    Please, help!
    Thank you in advance,
    Vlad.

    Hi Sheldon,
    What i feel is that it's not been handled in your webservice if the parameter is null or "" <blank> space
    i just you to take care in webservice that if the parameter is null or "" pass the parameter null to the stored proc

  • Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API

    Hey guys,
    Here's a little background:
    I'm currently working on adding an optional "strict" mode to some of the unmarshalling functions in SchemaMarshaller that will throw exceptions when receiving bad data for certain fields, and also improving the date handling while I'm at it (I want null instead of mangled dates when receiving bad data when strict mode is off).
    This is for my benefit at the moment as I'm tired of spending time debugging Flex code when XFire and Oracle are spitting out rubbish (like empty xsd:DateTime nodes, DateTimes in xsd:Date nodes, etc) - but I'm sure other people would like to use it too while we don't have a response validator, so I'd like to do it in a way that I can submit as a feature request (with patch) on Jira.
    My questions are about the procedure for stuff like this- where should this option be made public in the API, and who would I talk to about it? Or would it be best for it to always be strict? - That's how I'd like it :) Perhaps it should just log errors when it encounters bad data?
    This is the first thing I'd like to "add" to the SDK rather than a simple bug-fix, so I just want to do things in a kosher manner. Sorry if I come across like a total noob :)
    Cheers,
    -Josh
