Authentication during deployment of app on mobile and storing authenticatio

I need to develop an application which will acquire user name and password details during deployment of the app on android mobile and it uses the authentication automatically when it connects to the remote server

  • How to deploy an app with servlet and background processing

i have a servlet with background processing. it has to run 24 hours a day.
but i have problem with shutdown (after 1-2 hours without user action). [9iAS 9.0.3.0, windows 2000]
i created for application seperate OC4J (in the EM) and i deployed it there. first time as war file, later as ear file (because there is possible to re-deploy only ear file).
but it seems that the servlets are not designated to run as a uninterruptible task.
the question is: how to deploy such (servlet + uninterruptible background processing) application in the 9iAS?
    a) everything in the OC4J (then how to disable shutdown?)
    b) servlet in the OC4J. where (and how) to install the rest of application?
    b1) servlet in the OC4J + rmi/soap/... + standalone server?
what is the standard in the oracle world :) ?
    thanks

  • Authentication after migrating to App Services Mobile App: uid vs sid

I've migrated form Azure Mobile Services to the new App Services Mobile App, and I'm using the new AMS 2.0.0-beta on the client-side.
I have two providers (currently) implemented for OAuth 2.0: Google and Twitter.
Previously, I was able to get the provider token via a claim in the principal on the server, and there would be a uid (unique id) claim that would be either "Google:123456789" or "Twitter:123456789010" (or however many alphanumerics). I
believe the MobileServiceClient.UserId also exposed this as well.
Now, after I've migrated to the new App Services Mobile App (and I'm using the Preview Portal now, which for the most part is pretty awesome), there is no longer a uid claim, but rather a single sid (session id) claim, something like: "sid:ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ",
no matter which provider I log in with. When I looked on the client-side at the
MobileServiceClient.UserId value, it also gives this "sid" value.
The point is that previously the uid token could uniquely identify a user. Now it is the same for all users across all providers!
How can I get the provider token with the App Services Mobile App that I was previously able to get with Azure Mobile Services?
Also, could anyone point me to the source code for the Azure Mobile Services 2.0.0-beta? I can't seem to find it on GitHub.

  • Deploying an app from export script stored in the database.

I am in the situation where I want to deploy a copy of an application programatically into the current workspace, but each against a separate schema. The end game would be to have many copies of the same App in the same workspace (obviously with different application numbers assigned) but each app pointing to a different schema.
The workflow would be something like this:
    <ol>
<li>Create a new tablespace for the new schema</li>
    <li>Create the new Schema</li>
<li>create the required objects in the new schema (we're going to use DataPump for that)
    </li>
<li>Assign the schema to the current workspace (make it available to use for a new APP)</li>
<li>Read the app.sql from a BLOB in the database and deploy it into the current workspace pointed to the new schema.</li>
    </ol>
I was wondering if there are already API's in place that would help me do these things (especially steps 4 and 5).
I started poking around in the ApEx internals, looking specifically at the deployment of the SAMPLE apps to see if there was anything I could use, but it looks like the WWV_FLOW_SAMPLE_APP package is wrapped so I can't see what it's doing.
I also looked at the code behind the "COPY APPLICATION" function and it looks like I might be able to use wwv_flow_imp_parser.parse to install the application in the current schema, but would probably need some clarification on whether there are any "gotchas" there.
If that works, then it seems the hard part is assigning the new schema to the workspace as normally that is done from within the INTERNAL user's workspace.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Ok... For others who may be interested in this, I have figured out part of the answer...
To complete steps 2 and 4 mentioned in my original messages (Creating the user and makeing it available to a workspace) here is what I've come up with.

  • I have lost the app that opened and stored my PDF files

I thought this app came preloaded. Can't remember the name (brain freeze). It opened and stored all the PDF files attached to email. The icon had the look of newsstand. Naturally I lost my PDF files as well.

Apple's iBooks app does this, but a PDF email attachment is not automatically copied to the iBooks app when opened with the email. You must manually select "open in iBooks".
The iBooks app can be deleted and re-downloaded from the iTunes app store and is a free app.

  • Webstart-deployed desktop app, command line and Windows ShellExecute.

    Hi all,
I want to be able to associate Windows Shell registry actions (shellExecute from right click menu, double click, and protocols) with a Webstart Java Swing desktop app. This is pretty key to our deployment strategy.
I have two options that I'm pursuing right now.
    OPTION A
Unfortunately I'm encountering a few problems:
    1) javaws.exe does not accept parameters, therefore I can't pass parameters directly from a Windows command line
    2) The only way to get arguments in is through the jnlp file. Sounds like this is possible using a jnlp written by a servlet. But can I just pass GET parameters to my servlet like so?
    http://webstart.com/go/?param=value&param2=value2Would that work?
2a) subissue: I want to use JNLP's SingleInstance to make sure that only one of my app is running at any time. It sounds like that JNLP interface also allows for new parameters to be passed in as arguments... but if I pass in parameters to my webstart address, will SingleInstance properly recognize that http://webstart/go and http://webstart/go?param=value are the same program?
    OPTION B
So the alternative deployment strategy that I'm contemplating is using webstart, but then deploying a separate .jar to the machine and registering that to be the argument acceptor from Windows. So windows would run something like so:
java -jar cmdLauncher.jar argshereFrom there I will do two things:
    a) If the program is already running, then I pass the argument in using network sockets and deal with it like so.
    b) If the program isn't already running, then I execute javaws http://myurl and then maybe write to the socket when it's ready. This might really suck since i'll have to poll until the socket is ready.
Anyway, was hoping someone with more webstart internals had some idea as to
    a) would a option A (dynamic servlet) work in the way I expect?
    b) Is option B the only way to really do it? It certainly seems feasible at this point.
Ideally I just wish javaws.exe allowed passing arguments, and thus this entire problem would not exist. It's a pretty powerful and important feature for WebStart to be able to be a fully featured deployment solution.

    OPTION A
Unfortunately I'm encountering a few problems:
    1) javaws.exe does not accept parameters, therefore I
can't pass parameters directly from a Windows command
    line
    2) The only way to get arguments in is through the
    jnlp file. Or the SingleInstanceService.
....Sounds like this is possible using a jnlp
written by a servlet. But can I just pass GET
parameters to my servlet like so?
    http://webstart.com/go/?param=valuem2=value
2Would that work?Huh? Assuming the servlet that produces the
launch file fir this application is called 'go', and that
servlet returns the correct content-type, and writes
the two params in the URL into the JNLP as
arguments, then.. yes - this should work.
http://webstart.com/go?param=valuem2=value2Note the lack of one '/'.
( I have not had much direct experience with
JNLP combined with servlets, but am familiar
    with both. )
2a) subissue: I want to use JNLP's SingleInstance to
make sure that only one of my app is running at any
time. It sounds like that JNLP interface also allows
for new parameters to be passed in as arguments...
but if I pass in parameters to my webstart address,
    will SingleInstance properly recognize that
    http://webstart/go and http://webstart/go?param=value
are the same program? As I understand from my experience, the URL
becomes redundant, any params that were in
the JNLP are ignored in preference to the single
-open argument. Here is my buildable example..
    http://www.physci.org/jws/#sis
    a) would a option A (dynamic servlet) work in the way
    I expect?Sounds like it.

  • Errors during deploying EJB app

    Hello all,
I am trying the develop an EJB app in eclipse juno with weblogic 9.1. I have installed the oracle tools and weblogic has been configured with the EJB project in eclipse. When I start weblogic from the servers tab within eclipse the following error occurs:
    There are 1 nested errors:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Class not found: com.mainframe.pdu.types.PDU24
         at weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.EJBComplianceChecker.check(EJBComplianceChecker.java:270)
         at weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.EJBComplianceChecker.checkDeploymentInfo(EJBComplianceChecker.java:215)
         at weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.complianceCheckJar(EJBCompiler.java:868)
The jar file containing the PDU24 class is in the project build path and it is included in the order/export tab also. Since I am pretty new with all this I probably missed a vital step somewhere. Any help will be appreciated.
Also, what would be helpful is if I could be recommended a tutorial on how to create an ejb app on eclipse using weblogic as the runtime.
    Cheers.

    Hi There,
is the PDU24 a class from weblogic or a 3rd party library that you are using into your project.? Also, I recommend that you create a new domain into WLS using the OEPE wizard when creating a new runtime server. Doing it that way, it is going to add all necessary classes that you need to run EJB-based applications.
Our latest tutorial on ADF development on OEPE covers creation of entity classes on part 2: here is the link. http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/eclipse/adf/gettingStarted/Tutorial/ADFwithOEPE_2.html

  • Deploying an App with 'Documents and Data'?

    Hi All,
I need to setup 10 iPads with a few applications - using iTunes to restore these iPads rather than download each application 10 times. One application seems to be a launcher for several applications within it that you need to 'Download' within the app ('Mercedes-Benz App'). All these internal downloads add up to approximately 7GB - so I don't want to download it 10 times!
An iTunes backup doesn't seem to backup these 'Downloads' - Can anyone provide any tips here?
    Thank you!

  • Getting a Formula Error in Application Library during Deployment

    Hi,
We're getting an odd error which baffles me... In the app library, we're deploying an app to Planning and get the following error:
Detail : Deployment update from product:An Exception occurred during Application deployment.: Unable to load the following resource: %RESOURCE_NAME%com.hyperion.planning.olap.HspVerifyOutlineException: Verify Outline failed with the following errors:
Error [102000000] detected in member "Acct7055": Level 0 virtual members must have a formula associated with them
In EPMA, that account has a formula and is tagged with HSP_UDF. After deployment, Planning shows correctly the account as dynamic calc, with the formula, and the UDA. But in EAS, the account reverts back to nevershare, with no formula.
    Any ideas welcomed!. thanks.

I hit this error in Planning for an upper level Account member of type NeverShare. In my case, the upper level member in question need was shared by 2 different planning databases, so Planning was trying to create an XREF formula for the upper level member was of type NeverShare. I resolved this issue by using the UDA member HSP_NOLINK, which tell's planning not to create the XREF formula.

  • Deploying Java Apps to PDAs

    Hi,
i wanted to know how to deploy Java Apps to PocketPC and Linux-based PDAs.
can it be done directly frm the toolkit?

    Hi,
Check if your device supports OTA. If it is supported put your application JAD and JAR file in some webserver and hit the server from your deivce to download the app. Dont forget to set the MIME type of the server

  • What are best practice for packaging and deploying j2EE apps to iAS?

We've been running a set of J2EE applications on a pair of iAS SP1b for about a year and it has been quite stable.
Recently however we have had a number of LDAP issues, particularly when registering and unregistering applications (registering ear files sometimes fails 1st time but may work 2nd time). Also We've noticed very occasionally that old versions of classes sometimes find their way onto our machines.
What is considered to be best practice in terms of packaging and deployment, specifically:
    1) Packaging - using the deployTool that comes with iAS6 SP1b to package is a big manual task, especially when you have 200+ jsp files. Are people out there using this or are they scripting it with a build tool such as Ant?
    2) Deploying an existing application to multiple iAS's. Are you guys unregistering old application then reregistering new application? Are you shutting down iAS whilst doing the deployment?
    3) Deploying ear files can take 5 to 10 mins, is this normal?
    4) In a clustered scenario where HTTPSession is shared what are the consequences of doing deployments to data stored in session?
thanks in asvance for your replies
    Owen

You may want to consider upgrading your application server environment to a newer service pack. There are numerous enhancements involving the deployment tool and run time layout of your application that make clear where you're application is loading its files from.
If you've at a long running application server environment, with lots of deployments under your belt, you might start to notice slow downs in deployment and kjs start time. Generally this is due to garbage collecting in your iAS registry.
You can do several things to resolve this. The most complete solution is to reinstall the application server. This will guarantee a clean ldap registry. Of course you've got to restablish your configurations and redeploy your applications. When done, backup your application server install space with the application server and directory server off. You can use this backup to return to a known configuation at some future time.
For the second method: <B>BE CAREFUL - BACKUP FIRST</B>
There is a more exhaustive solution that involves examining your deployed components to determine the active GUIDS. You then search the NameTrans section of the registry searching for Applogic Servlet *, and Bean * entries that represent your previously deployed components but are represented in the set of deployed GUIDs. Record these older GUIDs, remove them from ClassImp and ClassDef. Finally remove the older entries from NameTrans.
Best practices for deployment depend on your particular environmental needs. Many people utilize ANT as a build tool. In later versions of the application server, complete ANT scripts are included that address compiling, assembly and deployment. Ant 1.4 includes iAS specific targets and general J2EE targets. There are iAS specific targets that can be utilized with the 1.3 version. Specialized build targets are not required however to deploy to iAS.
Newer versions of the deployment tool allow you to specify that JSPs are not to be registered automatically. This can be significant if deployment times lag. Registered JSP's however benefit more fully from the services that iAS offers.
    2) In general it is better to undeploy then redeploy. However, if you know that you're not changing GUIDs, recreating an existing application with new GUIDs, or removing registered components, you may avoid the undeploy phase.
If you shut down the KJS processes during deployment you can eliminate some addition workload on the LDAP server which really gets pounded during deployment. This is because the KJS processes detect changes and do registry loads to repopulate their caches. This can happen many times during a deployment and does not provide any benefit.
    3) Deploying can be a lengthy process. There have been improvements in that performance from service pack to service pack but unfortunately you wont see dramatic drops in deployment times.
One thing you can do to reduce deployment times is to understand the type of deployment. If you have not manipulated your deployment descriptors in any way, then there is no need to deploy. Simply drop your newer bits in to the run time space of the application server. In later service packs this means exploding the package (ear, war, or jar) in to the appropriate subdirectory of the APPS directory.
    4) If you've changed the classes of objects that have been placed in HTTPSession, you may find that you can no longer utilize those objects. For that reason, it is suggested that objects placed in session be kept as simple as possible in order to minimize this effect. In general however, is not a good idea to change a web application during the life span of a session.

  • Azure mobile HTML5 application - facebook authentication on iPhone in app mode

I have an HTML5 application that uses Azure mobile authentication to login (straight from the example code...provided below). It works fine in all desktop browsers and iPhone in Safari.  But from app / full screen mode, it does nothing (doesn't
ask for permission to show a popup window like it does in safari and no popup windows shows up) and I can wait forever and nothing happens.  If I invoke it a second time, it gives an error saying "Error: Unexpected failure"...perhaps because
the 1st attempt is still running?  Can anyone provide some assistance?  Thanks.
    client.login("facebook").done(function (results) {
             alert("You are now logged in as: " + results.userId);
        }, function (err) {
             alert("Error: " + err);

I did some more research and found a site that uses an approach that overcomes this problem and also solves two other side effects with the current Azure mobile approach to authentication.  I think the Azure mobile team *might* be looking to do something
similar because there are some hints of other authentication options in the code (although difficult to read and be sure because the minimized code is obsfucated).  It might be just a matter of activating these in the code...
    The solution:
Go to http://m.bcwars.com/ and click on the Facebook login.  You'll see it works perfectly in iPhone Safari in "app mode" becuase instead of doing a popup, it simply stays in the current browser window.
This approach solves two other problems with the current Azure mobile approach.  First, the popup gets interpreted by most browsers as a potential ad and is either blocked automatically (desktop Chrome) ... and the user doesn't know why it's not working...or
gives a warning which the user has to approve (iPhone Safari in "browser mode") which is a hassle.  And if the user has a popup blocker, it gets more difficult and even more potential for the user not getting it to work properly.  The bcwars.com
    method doesn't have this problem.
Second, in iPhone Safari, when the popup window auto closes, the original page doesn't get focus if there are other browser windows open in Safari.  Instead, it's in the smaller/slide mode so they can choose which one to show.  If this happens,
the user has to go through one more sttep...click on the browser window to activate it and give it focus..again more of a pain and more potential for them to mess up and not do it correctly and need help.  The m.bcwars.com doesn't have this problem.
    Azure options:
Looking at the Azure mobile code it looks like may already have the solution.  I can't read it easliy becuase it's minified/obsfucated, but it seems to have 4 options (including iFrame, etc.) for invoking the authentication, and only 1 (the "less
ideal one" of a popup) is being used.  An easy solution would be to set a property to allow one of the alternate authentications to work.  But I can't read it well enough to figure it out.  Another would be to hack the code (temporarily until
a fix is put up by Microsoft).
Could I get some help there perhaps?
