Auto-redirct page?

Could anyone tell me how to automatically redirect a page? I have a JSP(or servlet) which calls an ejb and inserts a data into database..then I need to redirect the page to another page...how to do it? thanks for your help~~

Here is an example of how to make a portal page automatically redirect when the page loads(if that is what you are looking for...):
Create an UI template like this:

Then create a new page based on this template.

How do I configure my iMac to auto sync Pages and Keynote documents with iCloud like my iPad and iPhone does. Note I've updated all devices to the latest software and I have iCloud configured for sharing on all but, neither app on my iMac auto finds and sync documents.

Thanks but, I have iCloud setup and I'm signed into the same account on all devices. I don't think I was clear is stating my problem with or expectations of the iCloud document syncing function. I'm able to create a Pages document (suffix *.pages document) on my iMac and save it in the mobile documents folder but once I access it on my iPad the suffix changes to a "jpg" file and Pages can not open a "jpg" file.
When working on the document on my iPad, the only way I can save it a in the ".pages document" format is to push it though iTunes and then go into iTune on my iMac and save the document down to my destop or document folder. My expectation is that like the iCal, Contacts, Music, and Apps syncing, the document and data functions would be/should be seemless (i.e. same format on the OS platform as it is on the iOS platforms).
It may be a bridge too far to Apple right now but, if they implemented this capability it would be awesome.

What is the best way to auto-generate pages at an interval?

In order to minimize the server's workload we're exploring
ways of auto-
generating pages that have dynamic content throughout our
website.
I know we could use CFSCHEDULE and have it make an
HTTPRequest as its
operation to read the dynamic page then use output to write
the resultant
page. However, if an error occurs during the request, the
result is can be a
blank file.
So would it be a better approach to use CFSCHEDULE to run a
page that would
have the error checking using CFTRY and CFCatch, and as a
result, have a
go/no-go in terms of overwriting the previous successful
version of the file
via cffile?
Does anyone have an example of such a system that would keep
me from re-
inventing the wheel?

i have a "refresh" page for monitoring updates on a client
site... the only issue is that this page must be kept open but it
does goes thru numerous data sources and updates any pages as
needed.
nice thing is that you can keep a running track of generated
content (with links) and check for errors, etc...
basically page has line

CONTENT="900;URL=home.cfm?pdg=1&pdgg=1&pncom=1&dtst=1">
the 900 is seconds (15min) and it just calls itself each
time. page has all functions and reporting written in
maybe will work your requirements. rest is just tags to
trigger queries, etc and keep out the nosy.

How do I create and header on the left and auto number pages on the top right? I can't rearrange my document by making page 10 page 5 and so forth

I've just completed my school report however I seem to be having difficulty with creating a header. I've managed to create the header for all pages in my document by however I also need to use APA style and insert page number on the top right hand corner of each page. I've chosen to auto number them and clicked on INSERT --AuTO PAGE NUMBERS however if I need to make changes to the page numbers, each change i make repeats on every page. Please help.
I also can't seem to rearrange my document. It's 10 pages long and i want to make page 10 page 1. I thought I could click on that page and drag it into page 1 position like in Keynote however it's not offering me that option. when i click on page 10 in my page thumbnails, all of my pages are highlighted yellow instead of that 1 particular page. what am I doing wrong? someone please help

You can chose to make left and right headers different in:
Inspector > Layout > Section
To move material the best solution is always to copy and paste the content where you want it. You can move sections however so:
click at end of page 9 > Menu > Insert > Section Break
You will then have a separate yellow border around the page 10 thumbnail and can drag it to the beginning.

Auto change page size of local printer ?

Dear all,
I have two reports with different output page size.
Those two reports print with the same local printer.
Each time i print report, i need manully select the print page size on the printer setting page (on printer server level, not sap level).
It is possiable that printer server auto select the opportune page for the report.

I want Recent Pages Back!!!!!!!!!!! I hate having to start over when I get an auto redirect page, because I can't choose how many pages I want to go back.

V 3.6.17 has a dropdown menu to the right of the back and forward button called "recent pages" BRING IT BACK!!!!
When I go to a page that auto redirects me to another page,, the only way to get back to the page I was on before hand is to be able to choose to go back more than one page at a time. You took that away in the newer versions.. If I was able to go back to that older version I would just for that feature.

If you have Back/Forward arrow(s) on your Navigation Bar, right click on them and you'll see your recent pages. You can also hold down left click for a second or two.

Hello, does anyone knows if there is a way how to set up on Mac auto selecting for printing pages by size? I need it to print loan documents for my notary public business. Using HP laser dual tray printer.

I am notary public and I would recieve file with documents that need to be printed on both legal and letter size paper. I used Adobe Acrobat from my husband's Windows computer which sorts the documents by paper size and then print's them out on correct size paper.
The printer I have is HP Laserjet 400 M401n.

How do you auto center page vertically?

I'm using DW CS4, Mac.
I have created a template web page with the exact size of 1000-pixels wide, by 600-pixels tall. I was easily able to set the page to automatically center itself widthwise in the browser. However, I have no idea how to make it do the same for the vertical. There must be a way, right? I was able to do such with my OLD GoLive.

Also, I may forgo HTML text altogether, in favor of sliced PSD pages. Which, unless I'm wrong, will look the same regardless of browser settings.
Why go to all that trouble? I mean if you're so concerned about form without function, just publish a PDF document. Then come back in 6 months to learn why your site has no traffic, no sales and no search engine ranking.

If I download a document from Pages in iCloud and open it in Pages on my Desktop, will it auto sync with Pages in iCloud (similar to Google Docs) or do I have to re-upload the Pages document to iCloud when changes made?

Winston Churchill - is that your real name?? I have done a few things, I have uploaded using Numbers for an Excel File and all worked well. I also tried to upload the Excel file, by not converting to Numbers and uploading directly from Excel....did not work. File in iCloud unuseable.
My question was, does Numbers (or Pages or Keynotes) auto sync with iCloud (as Google Docs does with documents, without having to reformat before it auto syncs - great feature), or do I physically have to upload each time I am finished editting a document.
I am struggling whether to stay with the Apple iCloud while they work out their speed bumps, or stay with Google Docs, which I am very happy with, it is seamless, auto synch, don't have to re-upload each time changes are made.\

Create pdf from web page - auto scaled page length

I'd like to capture LONG web pages to pdf without acrobat breaking the content into several letter size pages. I used to be able to do this in acrobat 8 and the page length would automatically scale to fit the contents. This was accomplished by leaving the option to "Scale WIde Contents to fit page" UNchecked, but this doesn't work now in version 9. Any ideas?

Auto submit page only on first time load

hi all.
i ve a requirement to display a report for a particular value of an LOV. now the problem is, until i dont submit the page, report do not show for the first displayed value of LOV. so i need to submit page so that a default report is displayed for the first value being displayed in my LOV. i have used following function in page's after footer processes:-

Hello,
no wonder your code results in an infinite loop. A submit means that the page gets reloaded, and the code is executed each time the page loads. Remove that code.
As for the intial problem, try setting the source value of your select list to the desired value.

Auto-number page objects from master pages

Hello all! I'm trying to set up a photo contact sheet template in InDesign so that we can get rid of the one we're using in Word that's rather...clunky. The only caption underneath each photo will be a simple, basic number that increases sequentially. There are six photos per page. I dove into numbered lists for the first time and figured out how to make the numbered captions work on the regular document pages, but I am trying to avoid creating the caption text box objects there because these contact sheets could be anywhere from 10-40 pages, and it's much easier to just create a slew of new pages from a master page.
When I transfer the number captions to the master page, the numbers are correctly sequenced when a single new document page is created from that master...but any additional document pages have the same sequential numbers (e.g. 1-6)! Is there a way to get around this?

Peter, without threading, the individual text boxes on the master page do number correctly. They are empty text boxes except for an invisible character such as a hard return, and once I have the invisible character in place, the numbers appear.
Because 1-6 already number and appear correctly, it doesn't make sense to me to thread them together, although I did try it including from caption 6 back to caption 1...this resulted in caption 1 disappearing and all the other captions reducing by increments of one (1-5).
I'm not sure if I'm 'placing' my list incorrectly (that term doesn't quite make sense to me ~ I thought you define a list and then apply it directly or through a paragraph style?) or what, but do you have any other suggestions?

Auto master page application

I wrote this script to see if I could hook master pages to a paragraph style and I have a couple of questions.
1. Currently I'm using the "onIdle" event type is there a better event type that could be used that would still run without interrupting the user?
I was thinking the "afterAttributeChanged" event type might work better. When is this one called? Is it called for every attribute change in the layout window?
2. I'm also searching for the pages that I want to change via grep and grabbing the page with paragraphs[i].parentTextFrames[0].parentPage;
Is this the most efficient way to do this?

Wiki auto pdf pages files on upload?

I find that only pages files are turned into pdfs when uploaded using the wiki servers documents add.
Anyone confirm?
Is this doucmented somewhere. I noticed it zipped my numbers files.

Look in the Pages preferences > General tab . Uncheck "save new documents a packages". For already saved documents my guess is that if you can "Save as copy" you would be able to get a "flat" document instead of a package. I can't test this as I am on Snow Leopard and always have it unchecked.
