Automatically enabling channels to all users..

Hi all.
iam new to Portal Server 3.0. I have a problem in including the new channel that i customized, to all the users in my default domain.
I developed the provider and imported the dp for that provider. In the admin console, i manually add this channel in my "Desktop" application - under the default domain and as well as under "default Role".
When i login to my gateway as an end user, i don't see the new channel; Then i had come back to admin console include the channel under user also..
Is there a way to specify in admin console, that a list of channels must be included for all users automatically ?

Hi,
Unfortunately, it's impossible for all users.
In Windows 7, you can unlock removable data drives by using a password or a smart card. After you've started encryption, the drive can also be automatically unlocked on a specific computer for a specific user account.
However, the prerequisite is that user must have recovery key.

    I'd suggest that is is where your BO folder structure comes in. You can export from Rich Client to any folder that you have permissions to access - some sort of collaboration folder system would potentially be better and more secure than sending unsecured reports via email. If your IT security team found out that you were removing document security, I doubt they'd be impressed!
    You can't do the default save for all users, simple as that (it's bad practice anyway, which is probably why you can't). While it's not the answer that you want to hear, it is the correct one.

  • OCS 2007 Enabling Federation for all users globally

    I've set up federation in OCS 2007 and it's working. The problem now is I need to make enable it en mass for my users.
    I've searched all properties and can't find where I enable it for all users. The setting I'm looking for is equivalent to going in the users properties > Other Settings [configure] > and checking Enable Federation and Enable Remote access.
    I'd hate to go through 300+ users to check this. Does anyone know where I can set this globally?

    What are the odds of that...answered my own question.
    I right clicked the users folder > configure users and it walked me through checking those options.

    How can I deploy EFS using Group Policy and Active Directory with a goal to automatically encrypt computers for ALL users who login? (NOT an option for me to use BitLocker)
    I was asked to deploy EFS to encrypt the user my documents folder and profile on all of the users laptops. The laptops are in common areas (board meeting rooms, etc) and security of files is a must.
    I successfully created a recovery certificate in AD. I created an OU and setup an EFS policy and users can now login and select to encrypt their own files. The issue is that management would like to have automaticy Encrypt ALL users my documents AUTOMATICALLY
    when a user login.
    Can this be done?

  • Setting automatic update settings for all users

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to roll out Quicktime 7.6 to our corporate desktops with the automatic update feature within Quicktime disabled. In past installs we were able to make the setting change and then copy the quicktime.qtp file to the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\quicktime" directory on all the computers and all would be good. However with 7.6 is appears this file is now housed under the individual user's profile. Is there a way to make this a global setting for all users logging in to a pc?

    We have a similar problem in a High School, using Windows XP Pro, QT 7.x and Active Directory. While going to a Spanish Exam web page that uses QT, the students get locked into an auto update process. As restricted users, they can neither abort or accept the update, and are unable to complete the exam. We have found that unchecking the preference for auto update as an admin user does not uncheck it for anyone else. Under C:\Documents and Settings, there is no folder for Apple Software except for myself, once I have opened the QT preferences. I assume that Apple has hidden the location of the default preference to force updating, without regard to how that would work in a locked-down environment. It sure creates havoc when 30 students sit down for a timed and graded online exam!! Any answers out there?

    Where do i place my custom workflows when i want them be used by all the users on my machine.
    I tryed to make the Folder Worksflow in the /Library/ folder but that is not working.
    I want my Workflows shown up in the Workflow menu for every user on a system.

    Unfortunately for this instance, putting things where one can see them in the context menu is a per user thing AFAIK. My suggestion here would be to put them in a shared folder where the users can access them and install them as needed by opening and then saving as a contect menu plugin. Same effect but does require and addition step by the user (and perhaps you could build a workflow to help with that process? .

    I am trying to automatically enable new users in my Users container.  However, not all users in Users container should be enabled.  In order to accomplish this, my helpdesk team is adding "NoLync" in the users title in AD.  In order
    to test my script, I am just displaying name information.  At first, when I run this line:

    SOLVED Ok. I actually was able to disable it. I had to actually log in as the guest user to make it accessible in the preference window. Then I disabled it and logged out. Apologies if this was obvious for some people, but I have had some sort of issue with something every update since Snow Leopard.

  • Cannot disable compatibility mode for all users once enabled

    I work for a school district technology department. For a computer lab that is using an old version of adobe Photoshop, we tried turning compatibility mode to windows xp and set it to run as administrator for all users in hopes that it might fix some problems
    with the program. When students log on it now asks them for a password. They do not have local administrator rights to the computers. After going back in and disabling the compatibility settings, the students are still being asked for a password to run the
    program. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop and the computer is still asking for a password to open the program. Is there some way to undo this in a permanent fashion so students are not asked for a pssword?

    Please correct me if I have misunderstanding:
    1. The student account can ran the Photoshop without administrator password before you turn compatibility mode to Windows XP.
    2. Then, the students need the password to run the Photoshop no matter if you use compatible setting.
    Please take the following steps and check if this issue still exists.
    1. Enable built-in administrator account
    2. Use the following code
     runas /user:ComputerName\Administrator /savecred "Full path to program's exe file"

  • Calendaring not enabled for all users

    OK, I am sure I have overlooked something, but why do some of my user have Calendaring enabled when I look at End User Information on the CUPS Server and some do not? All users are setup with the same profiles. But I can't find where to enable it for the other users.

    File>Preserences>Status>Show me as "in a Meeting"
    In CCMUSER Options

    I'm not sure if there is a way to do it from the Admin side....

  • Automatically suspend when all users are idle

    Hello,
    I have not been able to find a way of checking if *all* users on the system are idle, and then suspending if they've been idle for a certain amount of time.  Of course individual users might have the ability to set up sleep if they want, but I was looking for a way to set this up as the root user on the machine.
    Can anyone recommend a way to do this?

    Welcome to the forums.
    It all depends on your definition of idle.
    For me it means that there is no user input from the keyboard and no movement of the mouse for a certain time. Therefore i use xautolock for suspending the system when it is idle using this command:
    xautolock -time 20 -corners -000 -detectsleep -locker "systemctl suspend"
    The corners argument provides a quick way to inhibit the automatic suspend by moving the mouse into the left upper corner. Time is in minutes.
