How can I automate (Programmatic) the OCR process i have a number of documents that i want to search but it would take for ever if i Should do it one by one

Have you considered using a Batch Sequence ? There's a OCR sequence already listed in the options list.

We have a requirement to install oracle 8.1.6 on solaris box. The whole installtion process should be automated. This process includes changing the kernel parameters, creating the oracle account as per the installation guide, configuring the logical volumes, creating the database as per OFA recommendations, creating tables etc. How can i do this with out any interaction from user. Can the Oracle software packager handle all these. Please Let me know ASAP.

The full retail should be white with a snow leopard on it but if you ordered from the on-line store you should be fine. If it is having problems booting while holding the C key, try restarting the computer but this time hold the Option key.
That will bring up a grey screen with the image of the Macintosh HD and an image of the CD. Click the image of the CD and let it boot that way.
Once booted, go through the install proceedure, choose language, etc. Still using the same CD but let's see if for some reason it does not like the way it is being told to boot.

Automating the Patch Process for a group of servers.

Hey Team,
We have SCCM & SCOM 2012 is place.
We are looking for automating the server patching only for a group of serves and also to ensure patch kickoff times between scheduled maintenance period for ex. between 04:00 AM to 06:00
AM on Mondays.
Process required:
1. The server should enter into Maintenance Mode by 04:00 AM
2. Stop a particular service (production impact service).
3. Patch all the required updates and reboot the servers once all patches are updated.
4. The server should come out of maintenance mode at 06:00 AM
please let me know how best we can fulfilll this requirement.

Automating the Reporting Process

What I'm trying to do, and what I'm led to believe is possible with minimal work, is as follows:
1. upload a .rpt file into frsinput along with another file containing parameters
2. schedule a process (probably using InfoView) to produce the report from those 2 files
3. take the resulting report and distribute it to various different locations
My problem is that after days of hunting around I can't find any evidence that point 1 is actually possible out of the box. I've seen a few hints suggesting I would have to knock up a Java app to do this for me, but I can't believe that something this simple and useful to so many people isn't included, ready-to-use in the application somewhere.
Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
I should probably add that I'm on the linux Business Objects Enterprise platform.

You set this up in SPRO. Financial accounting-General ledger accounting-Business transactions-Prepare Cross-Company Code Transactions.
There you define what by your company codes, the GL accounts you want to use as the receivable or payable intercompany posting as well as your preferred posting keys. You can set your GL account to post automatically only and turn off as needed for adjustments.

Automating the Creation Process for 1 video for 1000s?

Here's what I want to do, but I don't know if it's possible:
For my company, I have designed a fairly simple motion graphics type video for various products that we sell online. It involves the image of the project, some descriptions of it and a title, with some simple movement and transitions with music underneath. The problem though is that we have 1000s of products. Is there a way to create, buy, or have written a script that will be able to take the template project that i've created and use it to do a similar thing with the 1000s of other products (over a long time, presumably)? Just replace the image and text with text and image in a predetermined location.
Does this make sense? Is it possible? If so, how?
If not, what other approaches would you guys suggest to approaching this problem?

in short: yes.
what you're asking for is very much possible, and actually not too complicated to do.
i would recommend using AE's javaScript interface and not the C++ API.
it's one hell of a lot easier to develop and also to adjust, and it has all the facilities you need.
in essence:
1. you supply a file with a list of the data you want to input to each product. (i.e. file names, text, ect...)
2. the script parses that file and iterates though the entries, each time importing the base project and replacing the footage and text.
3. either render each project and move to the next, or create a big project containing any number of the entries and render it all together.
4. tada!

Automating the Dunning Process

We are trying to automate Dunning and am using RF150SMS. We created a template in F150 filing in the parameters and also the Free selection tab. Unfortunately when we runt he job the free selection criteria are not passed on to the new Dunning run. Is there a way that these parameters can be included so that we eliminate the need for manual manipulation every month.

In a system I'm working on, the free selection tab from the template is correctly taken in the new run.
In the variant, "Delete target parameters" and "copy parameters" are both ticked.
Did you tick both in your variant ?

Disable Auto-Rotation in OCR Process (Acrobat 9 Pro)

Is there a way to disable the auto-rotation step as part of the OCR process? I have documents which I assemble in from images of tables. (If I had acces to the text of the tables, I wouldn't be using images of them). I place each screenshot in the correct orientation, but when I have Acrobat 9 Pro OCR the document, it auto-rotates many pages into the wrong orientation (some 90° clockwise; others 90° counterclockwise and some 180°). Since Acrobat is horribly confused by what it is seeing, I need to disable the auto-rotation part of the process so that it will OCR what it finds exactly as it finds it.

Very likely the pages of interest have a least one character of renderable text. This might not be readily seen by you or me but it'd be there.
Acrobat's OCR will not process a page that has any renderable text.

1. One 50 MB, it takes 45 minutes to 1 hour minutes
2. Multiple files size of 13 GB. It takes 20 hours to complete. And it has increased to 50 GB
B. What is the best PC specification for me to experdite the OCR process. We have to let the machine running for days in order to complete the job

I am automating the process of sending appointment reminders to my clients. I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

How to trigger the automated row fetch process and open modal window by javascript api?

I would like to click the one row of column of IR report, to open the modal window of current page. <----------------it is ok. I can use "javascript:openModal('windowID')" to do it.
There is one form in this modal window, Meanwhile, I would like to pass column data to this form.    <--------------------- it is ok also. I can use " $s('P7_ID','column_value');" to do it.
But I don't know how to trigger the "automated row fetch" process of this form to retrieve other field's value in this form.
I tried to use following 2 ways. But failed.
First method:
add one ajax process of "automated row fetch" in "page processing" block, named "get_fetch_data"
when click IR column , call "openModal", and call "apex.server.process ( "get_fetch_data", {}, { success: function( pData ) { } } );" , I tried to call above ajax process to refresh form. It is failed.
Second method:
add one process of "automated row fetch" in "page rendering" block, named "get_fetch_data"
when click IR column, call javascript api "apex.submit" to submit current page , then call "openModal".
such as : javascript:apex.submit({request:'MODIFY',set:{'P7_ID': #ID#}}); openModal('trade');
But it is failed also. the modal page is showed firstly. then page refresh. but modal window will not open again.
I am not sure if my thinking is right. Could you please provide any suggestion?

Hi Ping,
You can try to set the session state of your modal page's primary key before opening the modal page. Use one dynamic action (on click of IR row) with two true actions. First one to set session state of modal page pk, second on to open modal page.
Or you can add the modal page url as link in your report by extending your query:
select ...
,         apex_util.prepare_url( 'f?p='||:APP_ID||':7:'||:APP_SESSION||'::'||:DEBUG||':7:P7_ID'||COLUMN_VALUE ) as link
from ...
This will give you the url of the modal page, with set primary key.

Stopping the automator app doesn't end the child process

Fairly new to Automator and I created an app to start a process for hosting a small server for VoIP. However, when I stop the app, the child process that was created continues to run and I have to end the child process in the activity monitor using the stop command. Is there any way to fix this?
The workflow used in the app is as follows
cd /Applications/teamspeak3-server_mac
./ts3server_mac

Perhaps you should check the Console logs to find out what's going on. One thing that I would examine is that if you run the app in the Dock, then it cannot quit the Dock hence the app fails to properly run. Just a thought.

Automating the book building process in FM11 - best tool?

Hi - we're gearing up to create an automated book-building process using FM11.
Before we start, a quick straw-poll:
What do you folks recommend / suggest as the best automation tool?
We want to trigger the process when SGML files are dumped into a directory. When we've done directory-triggered automation in the past under FM7.1, we've tended to use VB.NET code to trigger an instance of an FM7.1 API client (usually to build and collate PDFs, etc)... but, since we're in a new era with a new release of FM, we thought we'd take an open-minded, 'blue sky' approach here and see what tools members of the Framemaker community are using.
If one particular approach seems to be easier / more advantageous / more widely adopted than any of the others, then I think that might nudge us down that road...

Strock transfer process - Automating the document creation/flow

Hi,
I am working on an implementation of ECC6 where the client has a requirement to automate creation of many of the system documents.
We are following the standard SAP BBP J51: Internal Procurement (Stock Transfer With Delivery). To summarise the BPP, the following process is followed:
Stock Transfer (Purchase) order is created -> Outbound delivery is created with ref to the PO -> Picking/Goods Issue is done by the sending plant against the Outbound Delivery -> Inbound delivery is created -> Goods are Goods Receipted into the receiving plant.
Our client has a requirement that the process is done as follows:
- PO/Stock Transfer (ST) is manually created when a ST is required.
- On Saving of the ST, the Outbound Delivery is automatically generated by the system with reference to the PO/ST.
- The Picking is done and the Goods Issued.
- On saving the Goods Issue, the inbound Delivery is created with reference to the outbound delivery or PO/ST (or creation can be done at the same time as the creation of the Outbound Delivery).
- Goods Receipt is then manually completed by the receiving plant and the process is complete.
After searching various forums, I have found some people say it can only be done through ABAP customisation and and others who say that from version ECC6 onwards it can be done via SPRO config. The instructions I have found on how to do this via Config were unclear and I was unable to get the process working. I have been unable to find any information on this through help.sap.com or OSS notes.
If anyone is able to provide the steps required to set this up or a link to reference documents i can use to find the answer, it would be much appreciated. Please advise if you need more info.
