AVERA Relevancy test function

Hello,
I have a problem. I'm using AVERA for calculating averages and I have own relevancy test function for determinig relevant payrol sequences.
This function has tables parameter RESULTS with some payrol results sequences among which there is a relevancy test. But in this table there are not all sequences I need and AVERA does not work well. I'm missing payrol result with additional payment which is relevant.
Any clues or good documentation for AVERA or own relevancy test?

Generically compacting arrays using a test function

Is there a way to do the following (or at least this stuff in the box) generically. Is there a name for this algorithm?
Essentially I want to reduce an array to just its elements that pass a test. The test can just be another array of booleans which say whether the array passed the test or not. I feel like I write this code a lot and it bothers me that I write it so much.

I find it so frustrating that Labview sometimes can't even do things that are so simple in other languages (see like http://docs.python.org/2/library/functions.html#filter) or that can be trivial to implement in other languages (see C++).
My hope was that no variants would be necessary at all as they add clutter and bypass compile time type checking. Clearly one way to make functions like this generic is to use variant data. I was kinda hoping to avoid it all together. The reason I wrote out the function the way I did is because it's space and time efficient in more cases, generally.
It's true you're probably fine doing this in one loop (using a preallocated array with the same size as the input array). Consider though that if you want to avoid making a full sized copy of the array, generally, seperating out the loops is needed. Labview doesn't make a copy of any array data until it passes the data into the test function (and if the test function isn't even a vi then it doesn't make a copy at all) which it will only do one or P at a time, depending. Then the only new allocation of significance is the allocation by initialize array, which in many cases will be substantially smaller than the input array.
This time the performance doesn't matter. But I'd sure like to make generic functions like these that could be generally performant. One day maybe.

Question about the 'TEST' function of BAPI

I have run a BAPI function 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE' using 'TEST FUNCTION MODULE'.
The process is successful and I can see the return material doucment number and year.
However, when I search the table MKPF, no such document exists.....
It seems that a document no. has been used but no such document is really created...as when I create a material document manually using transaction code MIGO, a doucment with doc. no. = that return by BAPI by using test function module + 1.
I want to know is there any way to commit the transaction created by test function module? and it is wierd that it makes my document number becomes discontinue....

whenever you use TEST facility, the changes are never committed to the database. However, you loose the serial number because of Serial Number Range Object. Once you take a number of the object, that number is lost and that is why you are missing the sequence.

Question about the function module testing function

I am trying to use the testing function of a function module in order to understand how the following
function module works.

BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 --> This function module is to create a sales order
I input several data in the test function, and I was the successful result with some sales order number.
However, this sales order is not actually registered in the system.
Would it be possible to run the function module (in the test mode), so that it would actually
register those documents (ex. sales orders) in the system.
I would like to see the actual sales orders to understand how the function module works.

Most relevant test score for PPro CS5 to run on notebook?

Hi, I hope I didn't miss this topic anywhere in the forum. Since I am in the market for a new notebook to occasionally edit 3-5min clips of panasonic HMC 150 AVCHD material (most of the time just office work), I was wondering what the best and still affordable notebook (EUR 1500-1800) would be. Apart for a wide discussion of system requirements and recommendations I couldn't find what would be the most relevant test score to assess how well PPro CS5 is going to work. Some say you need to get a notebook for EUR 3000, some say one for EUR 1200 would still work - I guess it depends on how much you are going to edit and how much time you have. I was curious if there was such a score that serves as a guideline. For example, below you find such test scores for a Sony notebook. What would be the most informative as to whether and how well PPro CS5 will work. Any information is greatly appreciated.
btw: I would appreciate recommendations on these two notebooks

thank you very much for your answer. Do you think the following notebook would be suitable for occasional editing of 3-4min clips (we have got a desktop editing machine with i7, 12gb, nvidia gts250, and 4 7200 barracuda hdds)? so basically it should only be able to work as a backup editing machine in case two clips have to be finished at the same time. since there is only one hdd, I could put an sdd into it as well. and I could upgrade to 16gb ram. the reason, why this particular notebook is interesting for me, is that through a student discount I can get it for EUR 1,700 instead of EUR 2,500 (cheapest price on the market for this setup). I am aware that it won't be as fast as my desktop (which works spledidly with avchd!), but it should be faster than a retired snail overtaking during his afternoon nap ;-)
I would really appreciate your opinion on that one or from anybody else that has particular experiences with this notebook and avchd!

Test function

I know how to test function if it's return type is item_list,number...or others(ex:select dynamic_test.get_product_group_index from dual;).But I don't know how to test function if it's return type is GenericCursor.I use pl/sql developer SQL window for my test.

SE37 and test function module

I have an importing parameter in function module interface, type BEGDA (type DATUM), default value SY-DATUM.
When I execute test function module via SE37 and F8, the default value gets value "02....20.3" instead of 03.02.2012 as set up in SU01 for my user.
What can be wrong?

At the risk of also incurring your scorn, let me add that I cannot make this fail, using exactly what you have in the original post. Obviously, something unusual is happening this client/instance, or in code that is manipulating the incoming date value.... my dd.mm.yyyy input defaulted to sy-datum shows 20120306 in begda duringe execution (in debug). Without being able to debug the mentioned FM at every step, it would be hard to pinpoint a specific problem.

Hp v5061u test function problem

I've noticed a lot of people having the same problem. My camcorder is stuck in test function mode PLEASE HELP ASAP......

The real error message should be in the alert log of your database. With the error code therte you could log into metalink and check out what the problem is.
What I suggest is first to remove the CURSOR from the select-subquery.

Configuring "Test Function"

Hi,
I'm working on EP12 with VC 6.00.0050.
I can import the BAPI as data service in my VC model. And I can test the simple BAPIs with the "Test Function" given.
But, in one of the BAPI, I'm required to fill in with 2 rows. As VC, by default doesn't give this functionality for testing, how can I configure testing tool for that?

Testing Function Module before using in DataSource?

Hi Experts,
After writing a Function module for Transaction DataSouce (by copying RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE), is there any way to test the Function Module before using in Transaction DataSource? (to see how many records it retrieves).
Also can somebody please throw some light in understanding the source code of RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE function module, as it has many declarations like E_T_DATA,
I_T_SELECT which will be used in the new function module?
Looks like, the function module RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE uses only one table SPFLI.
If it is just one table why do we need to write function module to extract data?

The generic function moduel is used when there is no BW extractor and you cannot get to the data via a view or table
The extractor is quite simple
You create a extract strcuture of data to send to BW
Then you create the function module - e_t_data takes on the extract structure
The select options read data via the infopackage selection from BW (and thus when you create your datasource you shoudl click the fields to be select option)
So in the ABAP
You read the select option and put them into a range
You select from which ever tables you need to in R3 and put into an itab
You then loop aroudn the itab and manipulate the data or read other tables
The data finally ends up in e_t_data
The whole thing gets looped around based on the size of the data package - ie if it is 10000 records then the fetch next cursor after 10000 records will send the package of e_t_data out to the refc scheduler and down the line to BW - then the fetch next cursor will get the next 10000 records for the next
I use this all the tiem (so sorry for the brain dump)
I especially use it for virtual cubes - ie to get real time data from R3 from within BW - the data is not requested by ipak but by the query at runtime against a Virtual cube which connects to this generic extractor
Note: this generic extractor can also live on the BW side - ie you can use it instead of APD to snapshot cube or DSO data to send as an ipak into another cube

Runtime error when testing function module 'RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST'

I'am integrating BIW 3.5 with EP 6.0 according to the report 'RSPOR_SETUP'.I've carried all the steps,but an error on step 12 : system failure during call of function module 'RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST' is there .When I test the connection with function module 'RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST', a runtime error is coming i.e. "<--Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.engine.services.rfcengine.RFCR'.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Manoj,
From this I can understand that a critical resource is missing which is required to start the RFC service in Reporting Services Web Runtime. This might be because of incomplete patch deployment. Deploy all the required software component archives related to com.sap.engine.services component and then retry this... I think this should solve the issue.

Testing function TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP

Hi,
Function "TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP" has status not released for customer therefore I cannot use it. I have copied the whole function group TRUX bat I still get the error en I try to test "Z_TEXT_CONVERT_XML_TO_SAP" . I have done the SQL trace but I do not find where to change the status in order to be able to do a test and I really need to use this function to read XML files into SAP.
Please, any hint?

Java.util.Data Exception when Testing Function

Hi All,
using VC I'm tring to test fuction HRPWC_RFC_AS_OVERVIEW. The field ViewId is the only one mandatory. When I've executed function I've obtained java.util.Date exception.
What does that mean? What should I set properly to test the function?

Hi Marek,
I suppose you meant HRWPC_RFC_AS_OVERVIEW. This is an HR rfc that displays employees absence. I tested it in my VC and it works fine. Ill need some more details on how youve created the model in order to help you.
