Average in grouping Sum
Hi Experts,
I have come out a report with is Total amount / Qty = Unit price. at Group 1, When i wanna to do same thing in Group 2 then it's wrong unit price after divided. It's follow the Group 1 unit price.
Sum ({@Delivered Total}, {v_ARCN.ItemCode})/count({v_ARCN.Quantity}, {v_ARCN.ItemCode})
Please kindly advise.
Thanks.
Regards,
Danny.
Hi Sastry,
Thanks for reply.
Yes, I didn't get the correct unit price in 2nd Group.
1st Grouping grouped the same invoice items to one group (based on items) then i divide total amount / total Qty. e.g. 1500/10 = 150
Continue...2nd Grouping i group above group based on item type then i divide totol amount of items / total items Qty. e.g. 2000/10 = 190 (It's WRONG)
But my 1st grouping is all correct. Don't know why 2nd Grouping is wrong.
Thanks.
Regards,
Danny.

Need to group & sum items & sub items into one record
I'm having an issue creating a report that can group & sum similar items together (I know in some ways, the requirement doesn't make sense, but it's what the client wants).
I have a table of items (i.e. products). In some cases, items can be components of another item (called "Kits"). In this scenario, we consider the kit itself, the "parent item" and the components within the kit are called
"child items". In our Items table, we have a field called "Parent_Item_Id". Records for Child Items contain the Item Id of the parent. So a sample of my database would be the following:
ItemId | Parent_Item_Id | Name | QuantityAvailable
1 | NULL | Kit A | 10
2 | 1 | Item 1 | 2
3 | 1 | Item 2 | 3
4 | NULL | Kit B | 4
5 | 4 | Item 3 | 21
6 | NULL | Item 4 | 100
Item's 2 & 3 are child items of "Kit A", Item 5 is a child item of "Kit
B" and Item 6 is just a stand alone item.
So, in my report, the client wants to see the SUM of both the kit & its components in a single line, grouped by the parent item. So an example of the report would be the following:
Name | Available Qty
Kit A | 15
Kit B | 25
Item 4 | 100
Any idea how I can setup my report to group properly?
Thanks in advance.Hi Goalie,
I couldn't not able to understand that what is the base input shown. whether it is the data-set or any base table.
If it is a base table then you can use the following query to grab your output.
If you don't want to group in the query then you can return the simple select of the output and group in the tablex it self.
/******************* Data preparation *******************/
DECLARE @TableData AS TABLE (ItemId TINYINT, ParentItemId TINYINT, Name VARCHAR(10) , QuantityAvailable TINYINT)
INSERT INTO @TableData (ItemId, ParentItemId, Name, QuantityAvailable)

,(2, 1, 'Item_1', 2)
,(3, 1, 'Item_2', 3)
,(4, NULL, 'Kit_B', 4)
,(5, 4, 'Item_3', 21)
,(6, NULL, 'Item_4', 100)
/******************* Main Query *******************/
;WITH CTE_Data
AS

WHERE ParentItemId IS NULL
UNION ALL
SELECT Tp.ItemId
, COALESCE(Tp.ParentItemId,CTE_Data.ParentItemId)
, CTE_Data.Name
, Tp.QuantityAvailable

Calculate % from two grouped sum
I am writing a report and wanted to calculate percentage between two grouped sums.
I am thinking of using this
sum(,) % sum(,)
however, I have 6 groups and for every month.
Is there any easy way to do it? thanks.Try this formula
(sum(,) / sum(,))*100

Highlight the highest group sum
Hello,
I am quite new to CR Design (Version XI ), so thanks for your help in advance.
My report shows indices of a month as details. The indices are grouped by parameter.
I get the sum of the indices by using a group sum formula in the group footer.
Now is there a way to show the highest group sum with a different colour?
Thanks a lot!
BarbaraThanks Panda,
while in the highlight expert I could only find to check for "is higher than", I rather need
the formula telling me which group sum is the highest (maximum).
I guess the highlighting can only be done after all the group sums have been calculated,
and this is where I get stuck.

Find average at group level of multiple grouped fields
Can this not be done in Crystal
I am trying to total and average at the group level like this:
((Sum ({@Unscheduled}, {@monthName}))/(Sum ({@total}, {@monthName}))*100)
-- {@Unscheduled} = if ({Table_Name.status} = "Unscheduled" and not({Table_Name.StartDate}>= currentdate))
then 1
I am grouping by month. The formula {@Unscheduled} gave me the total for each month of that ticket type and I was able to sum 3 other ticket types and sum total of all ticket types. But when I try to find the average of each with this
((Sum ({@Unscheduled}, {@monthName}))/(Sum ({@total}, {@monthName}))*100)
I get an error saying division canu2019t be done with zero, but there are no zeros when shown separately on the report.
I guess my question is Can you not perform calculations at the group level with multiple fields.
Any insight would be appreciated and I apologize if this is somewhat incoherent. You could do this like this, I think:
If Sum ({@total}, {@monthName}) = 0 Then
0
Else
Sum ({@Unscheduled}, {@monthName}) / Sum ({@total}, {@monthName}) * 100; -

How to find the maximum of group sums within a specific column using report builder 3.0
Hi
For each part number I am trying to find out in which week of a month did the largest daily shipment occur... so using report builder 3.0
in SSRS 2012 I can find daily, weekly and monthly totals for the units shipped but I am having a hard time thinking through the logic to find the daily max for each week.
in my data I can have multiple orders/shipments for the same product on the same day.
The ultimate goal is to set inventory levels
So..
In my matrix report I have
Row groups:
Classid => Product class
InvtID => Item Part Number
Column Groups:
FiscYr=> Fiscal Year
PerPost => Month or period the transaction occurred
Week_period => the week the transaction occurred
Day_period => The day that the transaction occurred
The aggregations are
Sum(case_shipped)
Max(case_shipped)
The Sum(case_shipped) is working as desired but the Max(case_shipped) is picking out the max amount shipped on any one order when looking
at the week, month or fiscal period and that is not what I need.
I have attached a screenshot since a picture is worth more than my words. I have also included some sample data
I would very much appreciate any thoughts on this. I am guessing that the solution has something to do with using the inscope function but
I can't wrap my head around how to use it
Thank you
Tom D
Here is some sample data for Product A
Invtid Case_ship Trandate FiscYr PerPost week_period day_period
A 10 1/1/2104 2014 1
1 1
A 3 1/1/2014 2014 1
1 1
A 50 1/2/2104 2014 1
1 2
A 30 1/3/2014 2014 1
1 3
A 20 1/9/2104 2014 1
2 2
A 5 1/9/2104 2014 1
2 2
A 20 1/10/2014 2014 1
2 3
A 60 1/10/2104 2014 1
2 3
On 1/1/2104 I shipped a total of 13 cases
On 1/2/2104 I shipped a total of 50 cases
On 1/3/2104 I shipped a total of 30 cases
On 1/9/2014 I shipped a total of 30 cases
On 1/10/2014 I shipped a total of 80 cases
On 1/9 I shipped a total of 25 cases
I would like to show that in week 1 the maximum number of cases shipped on any day is 50 (1/2/2014)
I would like to show that in week 2 the maximum number of cases shipped on any day is 80 (1/10/2104)
I would also like to show that in perpost (month) 1 the maximum
number of cases shipped on any day is 80 (1/10/2104)Hi
I was able to find a solution
I built a new dataset in report builder using the same table as before but tried out the "Group and Aggregate" function and for the case_ship
field I chose "Sum" as my aggregate.... In essence this gave me a very cool and easy daliy sum of the shipped cases.
When I used this new dataset and built my matrix report I was able to easily get the max daily shipment for each product by week, month and
year.

Making an average of a sum key figures
hi
I have a key figures that is defined as integer and has the fields in "Aggregation" tab defined as SUM /Summation.
In a report the customer is now asking to see the average values when the data is aggregated. I started making a "Calcultated key Figure", where I defined "Aggregation" tab as follow:
- Expection Aggregation : Average
- Ref. Characteristic: Incident ID
Incident ID is the lowest level of information. Is this correct if I want to calculate the average that starts on incident ID level?Hi,
This will give u result mathematically as,
= Summation of KF / No. Incident IDs -
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know an easier way to accomplish the following?
I am trying to average the sum of the pymts for many cases (16 at least) so would like to know if there an easier way.
Plus my average is 26.32 but the system only returns 26 even after I cast to a number with 2 decimals.
Would appreciate your help.

thanks I have enough problems with syntax! The double-quoted red-text is the problem for syntax.

Spry Radio Group, sum of values
I have done this in actionScript, but am wondering if it is
possible using Spry radio groups.
I have an html page with 3 radio groups. Each unique radio
group has 3 available selections, each with respective numeric
values. I would like to be able to make a selection of any of the
radio group options, and cause a calculable field to display the
sum of the 3 radio group values.
To see the exact example of this, and how it looks in Flash,
go here:
Sample
of what I want, but in Flash
For my current purposes, I could just as easily use the
existing calculator that I've already created in Flash. But I want
to learn more about the Spry features in CS3, and this seems like a
good launching point.
If you can recommend a tutorial, that would be best.
Thank you!

This can be done easily enough with client side js, no need
for Spry.

Resutl row with average multiplied by sum
I have a query where I need to multiply the average of col 1 with the sum of col 2 to get col 3.
That is, Col 1 Result is average of all values (say 205), col 2 result is sum of all values (say 140), I want col 3 result to be a product of those 2 values, that is 205 X 140. Looks like this is not possible using exception aggregation. Any ideas on how to do this?Hi Uday,
Is the intention to do this for all values or only for results?
If this is only for results then we can use the calculation feature of the col 1 to force this to avg and then col 2 as summation.
Define a formula col 3 and define this as col1 times col 2.

Hi,
I ve 4 groups in my report as a,b,c,d . and the structure is
a
|--> b
|-> c
|-> d
ie. group d is nested in c, c is nested in b , b is nested in a.
I want sum of group d . But at the same time when any of groups a,b,c changes , sum should be reset .
Plz let me know how to reset sum on changing any of the groups a,b,c in same hierarchy.Hi
Try to set it in the properties of the sum.

Hi,
My report has a derived column with multiple rows. I have used . . . .
<?end for-each?> <?format-number:(TRQT*UNCS2);'#,##0.00'?>
and everything is fine.
I now need to display a group total and have used . . . .
<?(sum(current-group()/TRQT)*UNCS2)?>
However, the group totals are incorrect.
Thanks in advance. You seem to have a couple of problems here:
Try this for your tag: <?(sum(current-group()/TRQT * current-group()/UNCS2)?>
I am not 100% sure that is correct, but give it a try.
Also, are you using a for-each-group instead of a for-each? You need to use a for-each-group.

Hi!
I have a simple table called Rates consisting of RateTime (datetime), Ask (decimal) and OrderSymbol (char)
I'm trying to create a select statement that will give me one row for each unique value in OrderSymbol consisting of columns for "CurrentAsk", "AVG(Ask)", and "OrderSymbol".
CurrentAsk has to be the latest one registered, so MAX(RateTime) for each OrderSymbol.
Is this possible?
TIA!
DennisSure, using OVER() clause added in SQL Server 2005, e.g.
;with cte as (select RateTime, Ask,
AVG(ask) OVER (partition by OrderSymbol) as AverageAsk,
OrderSymbol, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (partition by OrderSymbol ORDER BY RateTime DESC) as RN
FROM dbo.Rates)
select Ask as CurrentAsk, AverageAsk, OrderSymbol
FROM cte where Rn = 1
In SQL 2012 and up you can use
LAST_VALUE function, but be careful http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh231517.aspx
E.g.
SELECT DISTINCT LAST_VALUE(Ask) OVER (partition by OrderSymbol ORDER BY RateTime
ROWS BETWEEN UNBOUNDED PRECEDING AND UNBOUNDED FOLLOWING) AS CurrentAsk,
AVG(ask) OVER (partition by OrderSymbol) AS AverageAsk, OrderSymbol
FROM Rates
Although since we need to use DISTINCT in this query I don't know if it's going to perform better than ROW_NUMBER() version of it.
