Avoid connections.xml in JAR file

I am using a "JAR Deployment Profile" in JDeveloper 9.0.3 to create a JAR file.
How can I prevent that connections.xml becomes a part of the JAR file?
tnx
-Jan

Seems to be a bit more complicated ;)
I don't have "Connection Manager" library selected, but I do have "BC4J Tester". As this one also includes jdev-cm.jar, I still get connections.xml included in my JAR file.
As long as the tester library is required during development - and even later, during the maintenance process ;), there should be another way to remove connections.xml from the deployment result...
Maybe if we could specify the active configuration for all projects in the workspace at once...
Thanks,
Adrian

  • Could not run XML Explorer jar file

    Dear Java Experts,
I need to debug some xhtml document but could not find a decent working free xhtml explorer around. The xmlassert-full.jar downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/xpe/files%2Fxmlassert/
could not be run with the following error:

Your advice on how to get either of these XHTML / XML explorer tools would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
Finding the jars for compilation is one issue that is time consuming... there are some tools which will help us find jars at ease.
Jar class finder is one such a tool. 'Reference 1' tells you where to find the tool and 'Reference 2' tells you how to integrate with NWDS.
      reference 1: JAR Class Finder
reference 2: Using JAR Class Finder
    Hope that helps.

Thanks but I've used that tutorial and others to learn how to make the jar file executable and its working if i use "java -jar hello.jar" at the command line.
Unfortunatley i was messing around with the 'open with' command on the jar file trying to fix it and i've made it associated with some html help thing., and i have no idea how to unasociate it.
Anyone know any way i can remove all associations with it?

  • MIME encode a jar file

    Hello to all,
I want to place a jar file into the XML for transmission over network. I know that i need to encode the jar file for placing it into the XML since jar file is a binary data. Does any one have any idea idea how to MIME encode a jar file and then put the encoded jar file into an XML for transmission.
    Thanks & Regards,

Look down a few posts to the MediaTracker question. Basically you should use the getResource method to grab a URL to a file in your jar file. Then you can pass the URL to whatever method you're calling like getImage().
    URL myURL = MyClass.class.getResource("myfile.gif");

  • Reading an xml file from a jar file

    Short question:
Is it possible to read an xml file from a jar file when the dtd is
placed inside the jar file? I am using jdom (SAXBuilder) and the default
sax parser which comes with it.
    Long Question:
I am trying to create an enterprise archive file on Weblogic 6.1. We
have a framework that is similar to the struts framework which uses it's
    own configuration files
I could place the dtd files outside the jar ear file and specify the
absolute path in an environment variable in web.xml which is
    configurable through the admin console.
But I want to avoid this step and specify a relative path within the jar
    file.
I have tried to use a class which implements the entityresolver as well
as try to extend the saxparser and set the entity resolver within this
class explicitly, but I always seem to sun into problems like:
The setEntityresolver method does not get called or there is a
classloader problem. i.e. JDOM complains that it cannot load My custom
parser which is part of the application

  • Problem deploying connector: META-INF/ejb-jar.xml not found in jar file

              Has anyone seen this problem:
I built Sun's Blackbox implementation and packaged
it identical to the BlackBoxNoTx.rar included with
Weblogic's 'jconnector' sample (even using the same
ra.xml and weblogic-ra.xml). When I try to deploy
              it, the server reports:
              java.io.FileNotFoundException:
META-INF/ejb-jar.xml not found in jar file
I have no idea why the server thinks my connector
is an EJB. If I deploy the BlackBoxNoTx.rar included
with the sample, everything works without a hitch.
The only variable that I'm changing in my BlackBoxNoTx.rar
is that I build the Blackbox classes myself--otherwise,
the RAR packagings are identical. Any assistance is
greatly appreciated since I'm banging my head against
              a wall...
              Thanks,

I was finally able to resolve this one. On the odd chance that someone else encounters
the same problem, here's what went wrong:
My RAR file had two directories: 'META-INF' and 'meta-inf'. The first was created
by the jar tool and contained the manifest.mf file. The second I created manually
and it contained my ra.xml and weblogic-ra.xml. When I examined the RAR using
any tools or I extracted the contents, it looked like it only contained one directory:
              META-INF (because NT is case-insensitive).

  • Where to download java jar file with org.apache.xml.serialize.OutputFormat?

    Dear Friends,
    I try one program, it import org.apache.xml.serialize.OutputFormat;
but I cannot fine it after I google a while.
where can I find and download jar file that contain this:
    org.apache.xml.serialize.OutputFormat
    I use JDK1.6
    Thanks
    sunny

So, to clear things up, there is no org.apache.xml.serialize.OutputFormat.JAR
    OutputFormat is a class.
As I said in my previous post if you go at the xerces project home page (here) you will find a compiled version of xerces [here - direct link -> (fool proof)|http://archive.apache.org/dist/xml/xerces-j/Xerces-J-bin.1.4.4.zip]. If you extract the archive you will find a compiled jar called xerces.jar. Open that one with winrar/winzip or whatever, browse to org\apache\xml\serialize\OutputFormat.class and there you go, you have it, just link this xerces library to your project...
PS. Try searching on Google for "Google tutorial"

  • In a JSP how can access an XML where the XML is present in JAR file in the

    All,
    The Requirement is as below,
I have a JSP LaunchMe.jsp, and I have a jar utils.jar. both are present in my deployable war file.
And I have an XML Details.XML present in the utils.jar file.
Here I want to access Details.xml in the LaunchMe.jsp.
Can any one please let me know how can I do this.
    Thanks,
    Subramanyam V

Yes. You have to understand that to read a FILE (one that is seen as a file by your OS), you probably use a FileInputStream, which is a special case of InputStream. When the 'file' is not a FILE anymore, but an entry in a jar (the OS does not see it, only utilities like WinZip or jar see it), you cannot use a FileInputStream, but some other InputStream. Which one? The one returned by getResourceAsStream(), whatever this is (you don't really care). And all the rest will nicely fall into place.

  • Using jar file in XML

    hi all,
Dont get angry for asking this silly question.I m new for XML.
I have an image that is in jar file ,i want to display that image in an XML page.
What problem occurs is when i run the jar file ,XML and XSL files created in C drive.
But the image path in img tag occurs as
    "jar:file:/D:/ARManagerV5.7/ArTool.jar!/Images/tufts.jpg"
I dont know how to give path for image.
So it is not displaying image.
Please Some one help me to solve this problem.

Your URL is correct for an image within a jar file. I imagine that the viewer for your XML cannot read and render an image from within a jar file. You may need to extract the image file just like the XML and XSL files.

  • Xml file with DTD in jar file

    Dear all,
I developed an application using NetBeans which lets you create XML files.
The process of creating the new XML file, set the attribute Doctype of these files to the DTD (fileXML.dtd) present in the build / classes / Dtd that is loaded during implementation through:
URL url=ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().getResource("Dtd/fileXML.dtd");so the attribute Doctype XML files created will have the location of the DTD fileXML.dtd:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE AGSet SYSTEM "file:/F:/Documents%20and%20Settings/ioXp/Desktop/mioProgramma/build/classes/Dtd/fileXML.dtd">
Well. After completing the development of the program, I created the executable miaApplicazione.jar (in which he was pulled inside your full Buil, including build / dtd) by the option of NetBeans "Build Main Project."
Double-clicking the file miaApplicazione.jar the program runs properly.
The problem now is that when I create the XML file by mioProgramma.jar, they will refer to this DTD within miaApplicazione.jar and consequently when trying to open these files XML message appears:
Protocol specified unknown. Error processing resource "jar:file:/F:/Documents%20and%20Settings/ioXP/...
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE AGSet SYSTEM "jar:file:/F:/Documents%20and%20Settings/ioXp/Desktop/miaApplicazione/...
What is the solution for this problem?

  • How to use 3rd party jar files for xml transform

    Hi all,
Am using OAS9.0.4 and I deployed my .ear successfully.
In my application am using 4 jar files for xml transformation. (xerces.jar, xalan.jar, xml-apis.jar,xercesImpl.jar)
OAS has its own xmlparserv2.jar file. Its using this jar file for transforming xml data and not even looking for above mentioned 4 jar files.
In opmn.xml, I provided these 4 jar files in to class path. Then also it didn't effect my output.
I also tried as put these 4 jar files into j2ee\home\applib directory, but o result.
Can anybody tell me where should I keep these 4 jar files in OAS and OAS should use these 4 jar files instead of its own xmlparserv2.jar for transforming data.
    Thanks in Anticipation,
    Regards,
    RK

Add the Xbootclasspath variable in the java-options field. It will somewhat look like the following in your opmn.xml file
    <process-type id="<OC4J Instance Name>" module-id="OC4J">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options value="........... -Xbootclasspath^/a:<location of your jar files>" />
Ensure to use th ^/a (append) signature
