Avoid iFrame when executing Reports as portlet in Portal?
Hi,
I've "wrapped" an jsp reportfile in a Portal "Reports Definition File Access" definition, and are able to execute the report through a call to this (i.e. /pls/portal/APP.REP_DEF_NAME.show). The report's output format is HTML, and this works fine. However, the HTML is always displayed inside a iFrame frameset in the browser. That is, Portal now automatically generate iframe tags to display the report within.
This is annoying to say the least. How can I get rid of the iframe? Any ideas or tips are very wellcome.
Thanks..
Shyam,
Did you install Bw 3.5 and/or BI 7.0? It seems like the order in patching can cause problems. My guess is that what you are running is going against 3.5 and it's not installed. I think there are some posts inhere about that.
Good Luck,
John

Error when executing report in background
Hi experts,
I developed a new report. In that report I am getting data from KRMI transaction. For getting data from KRMI I have all the program and transaction and function modules under KRMI transaction to Z program, transcation and function modules and by using Call Transaction on ZKRMI and using Import and export parameters I am fetching data from KRMI transaction.
By doing this I dont have any problem while executing report online and when I am executing this report in back ground I am not getting in the above mentioned case.
Can anyone advise me in solving the issueAs already said....the import and export wont work in background...however what you can do is import and export in shared buffer
Please refer this below thread for how to proceed on this...

Report Painter: Error RG102 when executing report
Hi All!
I need help with an error I'm facing with Report Painter...
When executing a report with a large amount of variables and columns I'm receiving the error:
Message no. RG102: Syntax error in GP3NDZHLG3MURI7VJEVF29KI876800, row 0
If in the General Data Selection instead of using a Variable for the Version I use a fix value, it works OK. However, other reports are working properly with the same Gen. Data Selection.
Does anyone has an idea of the cause of this report?
Thanks!Hi All,
I will try to clarify a little bit on my Issue.
First of all, it's not a BW issue, but a Reporting Problem with the Report Painter for the Consolidation (EC-CS).
The row is configured with a Set of Data regarding a Consolidation Item that includes all the P&L Accounts. It is configured to 'Expand'.
Regarding the columns, I have a large number, between 40 and 50 mixing Ratio with Characteristics and Formulas. Within them, I'm using as well variables for Period, Consolidation Unit and so on.
In the Selection Screen I have configured the following paramters
Version - 100
Dimension - T1
Cons chart/acct - C1
Ledger - US
Cons group (Set and Variable) ZSETUNV
Year for CG breakdwn (Variable) ZEJERAM
Period for CG breajdw (Variable) ZPERAM
With all the above-mentioned configurations the report works great. However, if in the Selecion Parameteres I try to replace the Version (Instead of having fix value 100, to have a variable ZVER) in order to deal with several versions in the same report when I save and execute I receive the posted error:
Message no. RG102: Syntax error in GP3NDZHLG3MURI7VJEVF29KI876800, row 0
Does anyone has an idea if there is a Maxium of Variables for Report Painter or any idea which may be the origin of this error?
Thanks again! -

WebElements Can't get rid of border inside iFrame when CR report is loaded
I am runing reports from the CR Crystal report 2008 view that launches from Infoview and I can't get rid of a border that is in the inside of the iframe when the iframe has a CR loaded within it . (I uploaded screenshots here... https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/4288)
The issue isn't with the iFrame itself. When I just throw an WEIframe on a CR report, I can control the frameborder by modifiying the WEIFRAME function's frameborder setting, toggling it on and off and it looks great.
Where I am having problems is when I put load a CR report inside of an iFrame. I changed the ReportMode to weblayout, I've made the report margins to be zero, removed the scrollbars and menubar. Still, I get that pesky inside border.
I've changed the opendoc sReportMode to Weblayout, gotten rid of preview panel, margins in my CR report, removed toolbar and menu bar from the reports and iframe
Today, we went into our BO Server, found every instance of OpenDocument.jsp and added the frameborder ="0" parameter at the bottom of the script to the iframe definition.
After the changes my BOE Admin restarted the Apache webservices.
Is there something else that needs to be re-deployed or re-started??
thanks!

Hopefully my post will help you help other people having this issue.
Yes, as it turns out, this issue was not related to WebElements, but was an issue with the CR Viewer.
The KB that Ludek referred me to did have code to add to the web.config, but it didn't do a thing.
Ultimately, I found reference to this ussue bug #ADAPT01417734. A fix was first bundled in fix pack 3.1, but it wasn't completely fixed until SP 4.0. (Known Limitations: There will still be a 1 pixel wide border around the viewer even though the toolbar and drilldown tabs are hidden. The fix for the 1 pixel border will be delivered in Service Pack 4.)
Our server is BOXI R3 FP 2.6 and applying service packs is, in itself, a pain and a risk and requires a testing effort that we couldn't afford right now.
So, I patched my own local instance of CR 2008 to SP4.0 and then pulled the files that were identified as 'fixed' according to the release notes to my BO Server and put them in the correct destination folders:
allInOne.js
dom.js
processindicator.js
psheet.js
ReportAlbum.js
ReportPage.js
ReportView.js
Style.css
Viewer.js
OK, it's a hack, but once I did that, ALL of the gray borders around my weIframes went away!! I can still control a nice little border via the frameborder attribute in the weIframe ()
thanks for your help! -
Problem to spool when Executing reports in background
Hi experts,
I executed reports in backgroud , but when i checked in SM37 the generated spool not given proper layout format.
This problem occurs when report having more columns.
plz help me earliest.
Regards,
jyotsnaHi jyotsna,
this happens with ALV output because the output format is determined at runtime.
You can control the print format used: Just fromyour reports list in online mode, choose PRINT. A Popup should come up letting you specify the printer, number of copies, pages to be printed and so on.
At the bottom of the popup you have the Properties button. This button opens the overview sceen for all the available print parameters. Double-Click the Format section, choose a format you want to use.The the Specifications button takes you to another screen. Here you can choose 'Valid for this report only' and Check the Background checkbox. The push the 'Copy settings' button. Then Enter to close all the popups. This should help. Additionally you can set a default layout variant for your list to be used.
For this, in the ALV list, use Menu Settings-Layout-Layout Management. Here yu can set a default variant.

Error when executing report due to 0FISCPER
Hi All,
I am using a customer exit in my query to calculate the year to date numbers for current Fiscal Period and prior fiscal year (via offset -12). When I execute the query it works fine but when I save it to my portal favorite and re-execute from the favorite, it throws an error:

Thanks a bunch.Hi Venkat and Gaurav,
Thanks for your replies. The format of Fiscal Period in the first variable screen is correct with the Concatenate statements that I originally had in the customer exit. It displays an interval of 001/2010 - 005/2010 which is what I want.
CONCATENATE lv_cur_year '001' INTO l_s_range-low.
CONCATENATE lv_cur_year lv_cur_period INTO l_s_range-high.
I created another i_step = 2 variable with 'ready for input' unchecked and added it to the original i_step = 1 variable within the RKF. As I have limited knowledge of coding customer exists, I added the following code for the 2nd variable that I found on SDN as seen below. After applying this code and executing the "saved report on portal favorite", the original error message went away and I get to the variable screen but the format that displays now is 201/001/ - 201/005/. Why does it work the first time it is executed and why does it mess up the format when executed from portal favorite, really confused.

Dear all,
Im running a web template report which is calling a multiprovider and within the multiprovider are 9 cubes. All cubes have aggregates and are optimize for performance. Error itself says that
<i>"database accesses producing an excessively large result set,

I believe there should be some change in query which causes aggregates to be excluded from selection.
Try running query from RSRT with option Execute + Debut ->Aggergates section select "Display aggregates found" and see the out put ..and watch whether aggregates are actually used.
Also some time this error happens because of network traffic , try running query in Bex Analyzer and see the run time.
Hope that helps.

Reports in portlet region (Portal)
Hello!
I have a report that have a link to another report and is integrated to Portal, but when the second report is called it was displayed in all the page and i want that is displayed in the portlet region, what i have to do to display the second report in the portlet region over the first report?
mi call to 2nd report is this:
function F_DEPTNOFormatTrigger return boolean is
begin
SRW.SET_HYPERLINK('http://<host>:<port>/reports/rwservlet?prueba2&report=Prueba2&deptno='||:deptno );
return (TRUE);
end;
thanks a lot!hello,
you did not specify which version of the application serve we are talking about. i assume 9.0.2, since you are describing an in-line rendering of the report content.
in 9.0.4 we moved to using iframes to do the portlet rendering (if your browser supports it) as iframes allow you in-line linking, meaning the called report will render inside the portlet. in 9.0.2 this is not possible.
thanks,

Session not released in backend SAP when executing CR iView from SAP Portal
Hi,
We are in the process of doing some testing. One behavior we have observed is that user sessions are being built up in the backend SAP. Eventually, the next CR execution runs into problem.
We are running the Crystal Reports using an iView in the SAP EP. The iView is delivered by as included with the Integration Kit.
We have modified different time-outs on the BOE server. We are still having the same problem.
Is there something we can do in the portal or the iView to terminate the sessions?
Thanks,
GarryHi Ingo, Thank you again for your response and support. Well, the suggestion would be fine if our users would only be satisfied with static data. They normally run the report and expect the latest data from the backend SAP system.
To clarify your points, the user is not running reports at the same time. What the user is doing is this.
- The user runs a report in the portal. As you hae indicated, there is a session against SAP system.
- Once the report is completed, the user runs the next report, and so on.
Each time, the session remains in SAP system. Eventually, I would see a long list of sessions in SAP.
It seems that when the user is clicking on the next report in the portal, the session for the previous report run is not being terminated.
I'm looking for a way to terminate the session at the completion of the report run.
Thansk,
Garry -
Ordering messed up when generating Report as Delimited on Server
Hi folks,
Not sure if anyone else might have observed or faced this issue but thought I'd give it a try. I have an Oracle Report (Version 6i) and the output generated should be a tab delimited text file so the user can view the output in Excel. The Report output is sorted by Name. When I run the Report locally (Client) by doing File -> Generate to File -> Delimited (Delimiter Option: Tab), the Report works fine. The ordering is correct. However, when I am running it off the server (Using the option DELIMITED for the DESFORMAT), the ordering seems messed up. The ordering is maintained for quite a few rows and then a Name (out of order appears). Note that this record also appears in the correct place as well as above the place where its expected to be ... Here is an example:
Name ID BIRTH DATE
==========================================
ALLAN, BRIAN 1001 1970/12/31
ALLAN, SUSAN 2001 1968/01/01
FRANCIS, JOHN 5001 1965/02/01
BROWN, EDWARD 3001 1978/01/02
BROWN, JENNY 4001 1976/04/01
FRANCIS, JOHN 5001 1965/02/01
GRAHAM, DALE 6001 1980/10/10As you can see that FRANCIS, JOHN is appearing out of order and in order (Twice). This is not happening when I run it on the Client. Any ideas what may be causing this? I realize I don't have much information out here as I myself am at my wits end.
Thanks
