Avoiding Logical Loop Error while defaulting values

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where lets say Attribute A and Attribute B are displayed on the screen, we need to default value for Attribute B to NA if value of Attribute A is set by the user to "XYZ", else whatever value user enters in Attribute B will be set. To achieve this, we are setting the value of the Attribute B in the rule document. If we use the validation rule table like mentioned below, it throws a logical loop error:
Attribute A
“NA”
Attribute B = "XYZ"
Attribute A
otherwise
To avoid this, we are using a dummy attribute for Attribute A (which is not displayed on the screen) to set in the rule document as mentioned below and this attribute will be shown in the decision report:
Attribute A Dummy
“NA”
Attribute B = "XYZ"
Attribute A
otherwise
The issue is, we are sending the Session data to Siebel through OPA connectors. Now these dummy attributes as mentioned above (which are not displayed on UI) are not sent as part of the Session data as these are inferred attributes.
Is there any way to:
1. Solve the logical loop error issue so that we dont have to use the dummy attribute
2. If we have to use dummy attributes, then how to send them to Siebel as part of session data.

  • Error while deleting values of characteristic /1FB/COMPANY/Company (RFC des

    Dear all,
    I am trying to synchronize Company master data between local BCS system and SAP BW with UGMD_BATCH_SYNC program. In the synchronization mode, Full Synschronization (Write and Delete) was selected.
    However, I receive the following error message when executing the program:
    Error while deleting values of characteristic /1FB/COMPANY/Company (RFC destination )
    Message no. UGMD077
    Diagnosis
    When writing or deleting values of characteristic /1FB/COMPANY/Company errors occurred in the system with RFC destination . As the changes have already been defined in the local storage location this results in the master data being asynchronous between the local and remote storage location.
    System Response
    Processing is continued.
    Procedure
    Carry out a manual synchronization of the master data later using report UGMD_BATCH_SYNC. You can find additional information there under Application Help.
    FYI, RFC Destination for my data basis is left blank.
    What may causes this error and how to resolve it?
    Thank you.

    Hi MontyBurns,
    May I know what settings that I need to check in UGMDSYNC program? As far as I can tell, there is only one parameter that we need to specify in the program i.e. Field Name. As I am trying to synchronize from BCS to BW, I have chosen the followings settings:
    Source = LOCAL
    Target = ALLBW
    All,
    Interesting thing that I notice after executing the UGMDSYNC program is the following message:
    Synchronize/Display Variances Between Systems
         The compound dependencies for the attributes or texts are not defined
         uniformly in the systems investigated.
         Example:
         Texts are defined as language-specific in the local systems and as
         language-independent in remote systems (for example BW systems). The
         same can apply for other compounds such as version or time dependencies.
    System Response
         The display of differences between the systems will be affected. A
         manual synchronization will not be completely successful.
    Procedure
         1.  Ensure that the dependencies for the attributes and texts are the
             same in all systems.
         2.  Start the synchronization process again.
    Procedure for System Administration
    I can check the attributes and texts in BW via RSD1 by specifying InfoObject = 0COMPANY and checking the Master data/texts and Attribute tabs. But how do I check similar settings in BCS Workbench? I can't determine whether the Company text is language-dependent or not simply by displaying specific Company from Process View > Master Data > Consolidation Units > Company.
    Thanks.

  • Recursive Loop Error while doing standard cost estimate

    SAP Gurus,
    We are trying to do standard cost estimate on a material and we are getting error because it is going in recursive loop even though we have used "recursive allowed" indicator for item components in the BOM. The error message numbers are CK 730 and CK 740. We are using 4.6c. I have tried the same scenario in ECC 6.0 and still I get the same problem.
    Below is my BOM structure:
    Material 10890345 (has low-level code 012)
            ---> 10867220 (has low-level code 013) and has recursive allowed indicator
    10867220
            ---> 10846733  (has low-level code 014) and has recursive allowed indicator
    10846733
            ---> 10890345 (has low-level code 012) and has recursive allowed indicator
    According to me, the BOM for material 10846733 is causing the problem.
    For some weird reason while doing the costing run for material 10890345, it s not stopping and going in a loop.10890345  and 10846733 should ideally have the same low-level code as they are recursive.
    Please help to provide some solutions at the earliest on how to avoid recursive loop during costing.
    Regards,
    Swapnil

    Dear,
    I have 2 things to shear with you.
    The method we followed to solve the iteration is as below
    1.Config change -
    Valuation variant in the costing variant, we changed the sequence as below
    material valuation
    4 planned price 1
    2 std price
    3 Mov ave price
    2. Material master change
    made all the semi finished goods and finished goods
    procurement type = E,
    costing with qty structure,
    Enter the planned price1
    By doing this what happens is
    when system first start the iteration, takes the planned price 1 and start iterating and next time in the second iteration it takes the calculated price from qty structure till it finds the difference between the value calculated is less than .001. Then it gives the result
    Why lot size is important is, in our case in some levels the usage is very less compared to the first material header qty and system used to stop in between  and not even reaching the last level as during the cycle it was reaching less .001 difference. may be in your case it may not be the case...just check
    Please come back after trying this. this was the only last option i had to solve the issue in my client.
    Another alternative is to have a different material for costing purpose to stop the iteration which i will not recommend as we need to do some calculation for each stage and input the cost of dummy material in each stage.
    My client is happy with the result as the difference between manual calculation and system calculation is less then .1%...this is because SAP will not consider the difference beyond .001, but in excel you get as many as decimals you want.

    Hi Praveen,
    The concept what we have observed is When you click on Submit the values were sent to GP. There GP framework takes care of all these. After that when you try to login to Portal and click on GP Inbox and try to open the application, what ever the data that is sent previously will be retrieved.
    Due to some reasons like Delegation and other conecpts where GP will not fit we have scrapped GP and got back to workflow. There we have used the concept of Portal Webservice inorder to send the data to R/3 by clicking on Submit button.
    We have successfully implemented the Adobe Forms Offline Scenario using Portal Webservice.

  • MEMASSIN TCode, Error Message, Default values??

    Hello SAPients!
    I'm an ABAP Developer, I don't know much about MM configuration but I have to solve this problem: We are using MEMASSIN TCode to massively update the Purchasing Info Records the problem is that in the end the system shows this error message "Enter a min. order qty. that is less than the standard order qty." and the Info Record is not updated, if I use ME12 I can see that the Min. Order Qty is defaulted to 10000 and the Standard Order Qty. is defaulted to 1, so, apparently it is correct for the system to trigger that error.
    My question would be, Where are  ME12 and MEMASSIN TCodes taking the default values from? How can I change those default values to something that allows MEMASSIN to update the Info Records correctly?
    Thanks in advance for your kind help.

    MEMASSIN and ME12 are both change transactions, so the values are just the values that are already entered.
    You should be able to see them in table EINE.
    I dont know how you loaded/entered the info records...
    Maybe it was loaded with own programs and these fields were not validated at that time, or it was a warning message that was turned into an error message after that info record was created.
    The question is just: what do you want to do?
    do you want it leave this way, or do you want to correct the standard order quantity to be at lease equal to the minimum order quantity.
    If you want to leave it wrong  and just mass change other fields, then you have to make the error message a warning only.
    If yo want to correct the quantity, then you can do this directly in MEMASSIN.
    You said you are an ABAPer, so it should be easy for you to populate a new standard value with a small coding, which can be entered behind when you click  formula  icon

    Physical path for the same is /<V=Z_DIR_MAIN>/<SYSID>/<V=Z_DIR_OUT>/<FILENAME>.<CLIENT>.<DATE><TIME>.
    Regards
    Mohinder Singh Chauhan

    Hello Mohinder,
    the better way to analyse these kind of things is by entering the function module in se37 and providing the required test data.
    In your scenarion as you say its throwing a runtime dump related to field symbols better you concatenate the data param1 and param2 into a new variable and then pass that value into the function module.
    Thanks,

  • Error while transfering Value of  SY-TABIX to a variable  ?

    Hi,
    As per my req , i have code like this .
    {{ Data : idx3 type sy-tabix .}
    {READ TABLE ITAB2 with key----
    { if sy-subrc = 0 .
         idx3 = sy-tabix .
        DELETE i_sort INDEX idx3 .
    endif .}
    clear idx3 .}
    but it gets sortdumb ,
    While in debugging mode , i checked Sy-Tabix value is 11 suppose , but IDX3 = * ,
    The value is not tranferring to idx3,
    But its working fine for other records .??
    so what is the root cause of this kind of error , ??

    Hi all,
    I solved it ,
    Actuaally the problem was here .
    Data : idx1 , idx2 type sy-tabix.
    so system was considerings idx1 as char type ,length 1. and when after READ statement i transfered the value of sy-tabix to idx1 , if sy-tabix value is <= 9 , then IDX1 contains that value, but if SY-TABIX is 2 character , it cud nt transfer the value to IDX1 .
    so it was getting sort dumb.
    I declared like this .
    Data : idx1 type sy-tabix,
               idx2 type sy-tabix.  now its fine
    Anyways thanks to all for your help

  • BCD_FIELD_OVERFLOW  error while assigning value to dynamic work area

    Hi guys,
                I am trying following code --it uses dynamic table concept.
           LABSTD2 TYPE P DECIMALS  1,
           LABST_2 TYPE P DECIMALS   1,
           LABST_12 TYPE P DECIMALS 1,

           ASSIGN COMPONENT 'LABST_12' OF STRUCTURE <DYN_WA> TO <DYN_FIELD>.
           <DYN_FIELD> = T_ARTMAS-LABST_12.
    Value in T_ARTMAS-LABST_12 in debug was 14690.0....still it gave following error-----
    Runtime Error       BCD_FIELD_OVERFLOW
    Except.                CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW
    Even i changed decleartion as follows
    LABST_12 TYPE P lenght 10 DECIMALS 1,
    Still it is giving same problem ...
    Kindly help.

    Hi, I think it has nothing to do with an overflow but something with the code. Try this simple (rather stupied) code:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_line,
            fld1      TYPE p DECIMALS 1,
            fld2      TYPE p DECIMALS 1,
            fld3      TYPE p DECIMALS 1,
          END OF ty_line.
    DATA lv_rec       TYPE ty_line.
    DATA lv_count(1)  TYPE n.
    DATA lv_fld1      TYPE p DECIMALS 1.
    DATA lv_fld2      TYPE p DECIMALS 1.
    DATA lv_fld3      TYPE p DECIMALS 1.
    DATA lv_field     TYPE string.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_fld> TYPE any.
    BREAK-POINT.
    lv_fld1 = 15211444 / 10.
    lv_fld2 = 54879072 / 10.
    lv_fld3 = lv_fld1 + lv_fld2.
    DO 3 TIMES.
      lv_count = lv_count + 1.
      CLEAR lv_field.
      CONCATENATE 'lv_rec-fld' lv_count INTO lv_field.
      CONDENSE lv_field NO-GAPS.
      ASSIGN (lv_field) TO <fs_fld>.
      <fs_fld> = lv_fld3.
    ENDDO.
    BREAK-POINT.
    Succes.

    Hi Aneesh,
    XPath Expression: /soapenv:Envelope/soapenv:Body/math:DivideResponse/iResult
    You are using AddResponse in your XPath there is no element named like that.
