Back up iphone to different laptop?
my iphone wont let me download apps.... everytime i go into setting and itunes my phone freezes. so im down to my last resort, restoring my phone.
problem is, i backed up my phone a while ago to my computer that is now broken. is there anyway i can back up everything (photos, videos, music, contacts, etc etc.)
Also, when I try to make a copy in iCloud from my old iPhone... It doesn´t allow me... I noticed I´ve never had a back up before :/
Amd when I try to make a securty copy from that iPhone, it just keeps thinking and thinking...

Backing up iPhone to different computer
Right now, I backup my iPhone and my wife's iPhone to her Lenovo netbook.
We don't have any music, videos, etc. purchased through iTunes.
The only thing we have is about 10 ringtones that I made.
Is it possible to start backing up our iPhones to a different computer without any repercussions?
Abviously I will need to transfer the ringtones I made to the new computer, but other than that, is there anything that wouldn't allow something like this to be done?
Is there anything that needs to be done as far as "disassociating" the iPhone's from the old computer?anyone?

Copying videos back from Iphone 4 to laptop
I have few videos that were copied to Iphone through iTunes using my laptop. Now the laptop HDD is gone bad and i had replaced with a new one. I want those videos copied back to my laptop from IPhone. How do i do that.
One of the link says as below,
You can import only photo and video content taken with the built-in camera or captured on the device. You cannot import photo or video content synced from iTunes.
Isnt there any way to copy the video content synced from iTunes???? -

Iphone will sync/manage music with one computer at a time.
If you sync/manage with another, it will erase the current content from the iphone.
Put everything on one computer and sync to that computer. -
My 5+ yr. old iPhone 3GS is on it's last legs. I desperatly need to "back it up" ASAP, so I can buy a new iPhone, and I really need to be able to transfer my 5 years worth of info to a new iPhone, (a 4S). The computer I used to back my iPhone on when I first got it no longer works, so I was wondering about being able to back my iPhone up to my daughters laptop, but she also has an iPhone 3GS, that's already backed up to her laptop. I know you couldnt back up two iPhones up to one computer, (at least that's what I was told, years ago), but I was recently told by an "Apple" rep that I could "probably" back my iPhone up to her computer without losing anyone's info, if I created a "Secondary User Name Account" on her computer. I'm not comfortble doing this unless I'm reassured more than being told that it's "probably" safe.
Does anyone know what options I have, and if this idea would result in one or both of us losing our info, if we tried to store two iPhones "back up info" on one laptop?
My phone's barely working at all, but I can still access my info, (for now, at least). I really need to do something now.
Could anyone who knows how this works please give me some info?
Thanks in advance.First, you don't have a 5+ year old 3GS. The 3GS has only been around for under 4 years. In fact, 5 years ago there were NO iPhones; the original iPhone (2 generations before the 3GS) came out on June 29, 2007 - not quite 5 years ago. The 3GS was released June 19, 2009.
That aside, you can sync multiple phones to one computer - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495. boogeyman is wrong. Backing up contacts from iphone 5s to laptop / icloud
Hi
I am desperately trying to back up my contacts from my iphone to my laptop & / Or icloud.
On my phone most of the contacts comefrom my live.com (outlook) email account - hoever when I go into live.com my contacts arent there. I was told to pull the contacts of live.com into an CSV file and then upload to cloud but on Live.com the only contacts are my linkedin contacts not the actual phone contacts
This is really becoming an issue and all the advice points towards getting the contacts from the relevant email accounts but that is proving impossible
SO i wondered if there was another way of pulling the information directly from the iphone (like in the good old days on Nokia!)
Please help!

If your contacts are stored on iCloud, you can export them in vCard format directly from the iCloud website to achieve this goal:

I want to delete a few contacts, apps, pics etc from my iphone, but when I delete and connect to my laptop they sync and come back again. How can I delete those items and not get them back when I connect my iphone to my laptop?
Also where exactly on the laptop is teh data stored.

you'll see a pop-up and there's a tab called 'Devices' there. If you click that, you will be able to check a box that says 'prevent automatic syncing for iPods, iPads and iPhones' or something like that.

NB: if you don't even see the menu bar that has options like 'File, Edit, View, etc', first click the black/white square button on the top left of your screen, and then click 'show menu bar'. It should pop right up.

Help I just hooked up my iPhone to my laptop for the first time and i accidentally chose to have it read it as my ipod so all my pictures were deleted off of it. I had not backed it up before. Is there anything I can do? Please tell me my photos aren't gone :[
Did you by chance have photo stream turned on? If so then they might be there. When you restored your phone it deleted everything and they will be unretreivable from your computer.

Oh no! You restored from a backup instead of creating one! If you do not have a more recent backup anywhere, then there is no way!

Where were you storing your contacts? In the cloud? In outlook? Synch them back from wherever they were being stored.

If you are having the same issue on several computers then it is a hardware issue! Not a software issue! Replacement is the only resolution!

I cannot restore my iPhone after several attempts on two different laptops. This is the message, "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I don't have that option on my iPhone because I locked myself out, it reads "iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes" what can I do?
Place your phone in DFU mode (search Google) and restore. You will lose all data on the phone.

I recently changed my password and forgot it. I have tried everything. Pressing the home and power while conected and unconnected to iTunes. If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
If you can't remember the passcode and don't have access to the other computer, you'll have to restore it and setu it up as a new phone.
