Background Color on Title?

I've looked around this forum and in the application, but I can't see a way to set the background color of a title object. Depending on the video image in the background, I may need to have white text within a black box. I see glows, outlines, and drop shadows galore, but no background color. This is where I usually see control of the background color in other applications. I've looked in the Basic Title and Custom Title templates.
I've got to be missing something.

I'm not experiencing that problem... that makes it very hard to "fix."
All I can figure is: don't keyframe the last frame of the title  - burn a few frames at the end with the fade out. If you need more time -- just stretch it out further.
Adding drop shadow controls for the rectangle would complicate the parameter selections, not to mention make you have to scroll for them (I'm sure many who are familiar with my work are laughing right now...LOL). I already put the text drop shadow controls (as well as the most commonly used text parameters) in to save you from having to go back and forth to the text pane to make those adjustments. The Outline should be sufficient and consider using a semi-transparent gradient for the rectangle! I made the "fill" control a gradient (although it's "stuck" as a vertical gradient) which can be used for a really nice effect.

  • Choose background color for titles

    Is there a way to choose the background color when adding titles before or inbetween movie clips? Or is black the only option?

    Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
    Titles backgrounds default to black when there is no background present, you can place the title over any colour background to achieve what you want. I suspect though this isn't what you were asking and what you really wanted to know was can you change the default colour when there is no background. I don't think you can.

  • Why can't I change the background color on title slides in 10.0.2?

    I can change the font color, but the background only seems to be able to be black. any truth in that?  Seems like the older version I had let me change the background color.

    I'm replying to myself because I cannot see your post ??????
    From my email- KT said:
    "Typically, when a same-only different controller acts up like this, the first thing to do is to rewire - sounds like you've gone down that path tho.
    Can you duplicate one of the cooperative controllers, add it to the mix and see if things change there?"
    I've tried all of that several times.  I have no idea.  Maybe some sleep will help it and me.
    Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
    Edit
    As soon as I posted this - your post appeared.  Again??????

  • How to change background color of title in iMovie '09?

    My issue is that for animated title slides that I insert with iMovie '09, I can only choose from about a dozens backgrounds and colors. I want the background to be red, but the default red is not the shade I need and there does not appear to be a way to adjust the brightness.

    imagine the background as a 'still' or 'photo':
    create your special shade of red in any 'Paint' app (Pixelmator, Photoshop/element or iWorks/Keynote ..) , save it as a jpeg, drag it into your Project, add title on that.
    btw: in case you'll distribute your movie by DVD, don't be too colorful, too 'bright' with red ... old SDef video ddn't like 'red' ... or 'green' ... or 'grey'  LOL ...

  • Background Colors for Titles

    Is there a setting within iMovie that will provide for a different color background than black for titles?
    Thanks!

    Placing a title over a color background
    1 In the timeline viewer, select the video clip to the right of where you want to add a title or text
    and drag the clip to the right to create a gap.
    2 Click the clip viewer button and locate the new color clip (it will be black).
    3 Select the color clip and choose File > Show Info.
    4 Click the Color box (shown below) and choose a color for the clip.
    5 Click Select and close the Color box.
    6 Follow the instructions above for creating a title, but don’t choose the Over Black checkbox. A
    color clip is technically a video clip.

  • Title 3D background color

    I just started using FCE and I've successfully created a sequence that is not complicated. I am only using 1 video track and separating each video segment with a Title 3D title page. I am not overlaying the title page. The background is displayed in black. My question is: can I change the background color to another color? If so, how?
    Thanks in advance.

    There is no background color to Title 3D. It's transparency. To put a color behind it move the title onto V2 and from the Generators use Matte>Color and put that underneath the title.

  • Change the background color of a title bar

    I'd like to know if it's possible to change the background color of a swing application title bar.
    Thanks in advance.

    In Windows I think you can change the overall look of the desktop - Standard Windows comes with a bluish scheme, but you can change that, say to something like greenish. On NT you do it using right click on desktop > Properties > Apperance > Scheme etc etc.
    So I think Frame title colour is very much a OS specified thing.

  • Can I change the background color of the title " Knock Out" ?

    Hello,
    I am facing a problem with editing the title background, the original title background seems to be set as" transparent" or "black" , while I need it not to be black, but make it white or into any other color...
    I tried to copy the title "Knock Out" and edit in Motion 5, added a triangle as big as the background and put it on the bottom, but seems it's not working with such method...
    Then I tried to change the player background into white ( in the menu of prefernces) , it turned out to be white " sometimes" when I do a playback test... but when I export it into a quicktime movie, it remain the same black background... Anyone know how-to? Thanks in advance!

    Hello, Andy
    Thanks for your help, I tried to do the same thing, putting a custom generator underneath the title, but seems it's not working... I guess like what Tom said, it's transparent, and if I put a color underneath it, it became all white... like what I show on the photo
    The problem is that this method helps for any other titles, but not for the title" Knock Out", coz when we put knock out on our film, the text color will be all depends on your film, and placing a custom background to it will end up the text beccoming the exact same color of the custom background...  but what I need is to keep the text transparent as what it was, so that i can show the film thru the text... at the same time, the background should be white... Any ideas? It's bugging me:(
    Thanks for help anyway!
    The first photo was putting a custom background, but it showed up all white
    The seconf one was what I need, but all I can do is change the payer background to white... and it end up the same black background when I export it...

    <p class="c3">Octenol is an natural chemical that occurs naturally as a by-product of plants and some animals that eat a lot of vegetable produce. If carbon dioxide is mixed with octenol, it has been found to be an attractant to several mosquito species. There are other insects such as no-see-ums and biting midges that are also attracted to this scent. It has been proven to be a very effective product, especially for no-see-ums.<br />
    <br />
    <img src="images/12137165-cartoon-stop-mosquito.jpg" width="168" height="168" alt="mosquito" /><br />
    <br />
    Octenol is also a pesticide ingredient that is used to attract mosquitoes and biting flies. It does not kill the insects; it only attracts them. It can be used in combination with other products and devices that do kill them once they are successfully attracted to the device. It is important to be aware that non-pest insects are also attracted and destroyed by some of the devices.<br />
    <br />
    If octenol is ingested, there is a possibility for toxicity. It is not, however, harmful in the air to humans, pets, or the environment. It is vitally important that it is kept safely away from children to avoid the possibility of ingesting. Placement of the attractant and device utilized to catch biting insects should be carefully considered. It should be kept safely away from children and pets.<br /></p>
    <p class="c3">To be most effective in mosquito control, the attractant should be placed between the breeding grounds of the mosquito and the area where the people are located. There are range limits that the attractant will reach and this needs to be considered in the placement of the trap as well.<br /></p>

  • How to change the background color only for one HTML-Portlet?

    Hi all,
    I have created a HTML-Portlet in my root-page. The root page have a style: Main-Style.
    I want to change the background-color only for this one HTML-Portlet:
    <html>
    <header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body bgcolor="#999999">
    Test
    </body>
    </html>
    But this does not work...
    When I use the CSS, then it will change the background-color for the root-page too.
    Thans
    Leonid Pavlov

    could you try this
    <table bgcolor="#999999">
    <tr>
    <td>
    test
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    I don't think you need <html><header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body></body></html> for your HTML-Portlet.

  • Background Color - RGB Value

    Hello,
    I have embedded a video in this post. I have a FCP background color RGB Value 102, 151, 202. YOu can see the bad results in the video. The text almost starts out gray, then fades into white - which it should just simply fade in.
    If I place the background in Motion - I don't have this issue - but I use Motion for titling.
    Keep in mind, this is simply a test project, not the real project i was working with, but I replicated the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is probably bug 777312. Call Support for the latest info on this bug and for help getting it fixed.

  • How can I change the background color of my podcast's iTunes page?

    My RSS feed just got accepted but now I need to customize the title, author, background color, and logo of my site. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

    You can't change the background colour - it's white for audio and black for video. The other data can be changed by changing the appropriate tag in the feed, or if you're using a program or online service to make your podcast,. wherever they provide for entering this information.
    The title is carried in the 'title' tag; the author in the 'itunes:author' tag, and the 'podcast image' which appears on the Store page in the 'itunes: image' tag. Republish the feed after making the amendments: it will take a couple of days for the new data to appear, though the image may take several days.
    The image which appears in some podcasts in the bottom left-hand corner of iTunes when subscribing is not referenced in the feed but has to be actually embedded into the media file: please see this page:

  • In Pages 09' how do I change the background colors on the templates?

    I have been trying to change the background on one of the templates from red to green for a while.  I can't figure it out and i can't find answers online any where that are helpful at all.  I just need to changes the background color to what I want it to be and not what the programs sets them too.  Any ideas?  I'm totally stumped!
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Burke,
    Here's the result, using Peggy's suggestion:
    Process:
    Click on the thin strip of red to the left of the title ("THE THOMPSONS") to select the background.
    You'll see the small x in each corner, indicating the object is locked.
    Go Arrange > Unlock (or press option-command-L) to unlock the object.
    Click on the Fill Color well in the format bar, and choose a new colour from the palette.
    Go Arrange > Lock (or press command-L to re-lock the object.
    Save the result.

    Barry
