Background falling short: help

I can't seem to figure this out:

the orange background is too short.... it should go as long
as the images go.
here is an excerpt from the style sheet:

Try adding:
overflow: auto;
and remove the height: 100%
to the #main div
so you have:
#main {
width: 1024px;
background: url(images/orange_bground.jpg) repeat-y;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
background-color: #fd6c07; /* fixed this also */
overflow: auto;
Works in FFox using the css editor online....

I understand that you are having issues with your HP 2310m monitor going blank and/or flickering. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it

My PM G4 just falls short of Leopard system requirements

As you can see from my signature im just falling short on the system requirements to install leopard on my powermac G4.
Leopard system requirements state you need a minimum processor of PPC 867 mhz, my Powermac G4 quicksilver 2002 has an 800 mhz processor, so my question is has anybody sucessfully installed Leopard on a powermac G4 with a 800 mhz processor.
I do plan to upgrade computers but wanted to hold on to this G4 as a server and it would have been nice to upgrade OS'es.

I used the procedure at http://blog.kupferman.net/?p=3 and have been merrily running Leopard since it shipped on my G4, 450 MP. FWIW, it's faster in all respects than 10.4.11. MacOSXHints posted http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20071214143723301, which I didn't try. Other installation options listed at

On windows movie maker you could just select "fit to music" but this program isnt as easy to figure out! Any help?

Double-click on the still image in the project timeline to open the Inspector. In the Inspector, adjust the duration by typing in a new duration to match the length of your music. I think the limit for a still image is 10 minutes. If you need more than this, simply drag the image into the timeline again then adjust its duration. The two images will play seamlessly (no gap will be visible).

You can achieve more precision when entering durations by changing a preference in the menu item iMovie Preferences. Check (tick) the preference for Show Time As HH:MM:SS:frames. This will enable you to enter the duration of stills down to the frame level, rather than full seconds (NTSC is 30 frames per second; PAL is 25 fps). When entering times, type a colon between each time segment, such as 2:50:15, which represents 2 minutes 50 seconds and 15 frames. For 5 seconds 20 frames you would enter 5:20 and so forth.
Note that the music will only run to the length of the video in the timeline (in your case, the still images). So, after increasing the stills duration you will need to drag the end of the music track as far as required. The stills can be dragged inwards to reduce the duration if necessary.

How do I produce buttons that appear at the end of a motion background? Please Help!!!

I just began working with my new production premuim CS3 suite and the current project that I am working on calls for buttons that appear right the end of the motion background. I have tryed everywhich way I can think of to import and export buttons that I thought I created in after effects. The video background works but when it get to the last frame of the video the buttons do not work. Please someone who has a bit more experience working with encore and after effects help.

Background images/designs, HELP!

I need help.
This is in a very basic form from when I was playing around getting ideas prior to even working in DW... I promise you it is 100X better lol but basically I'm trying to set up a website to look like this:
I have it set up in Dreamweaver currently with that outside border in separate cells in a table and they all line up now and work nicely and the large center white box where the text is going is is in the center cell. However, my issue is that I can't put the text over this now. How do I do this? There HAS to be a way to put the outside border and the inside white box in the background so I can still layer the text over them. I tried setting them as the page background but they are stuck to the left and I can't move them to the center.
I hope I explained it well enough. Does anyone have any ideas? This is holding up the rest of the website because I cannot figure it out
This is the first website I have done outside of class and my professor that taught the web design class openly admitted that she doesn't know dreamweaver well at all and basically we had to teach ourselves out of a book and online videos (which is why I am having this issue) and of course, websites are my weakest point. It was a waste-of-money class but unfortunately was a required one.
Any help/ideas/tips/tricks/etc would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

As Fiona said, you need to be able to work with Code View. If you don't spend some time learning basic HTML and CSS first, DW will punish & frustrate you no end.

My Ear is wide that the earbuds can't stay, they fall plz help!!!

Actually I was thinking that I didn't know how to place the ear buds well, but recently I knew that my ear was an ABNORMAL EAR!

Check the link above... My Tragus and my AntiTragus are a little bit far from each other so now whenever I try to place the Ear Buds I need to shove them inside my ear and it's only time tell they fall down or loosen up.
So when i try to jog or walk or move with them they fall easily, I need to know if the In-Ear will suit me well?
And what kind of ear buds can help me in this situation?

try using the black head phones buds supplied with your ipod that should help keep the headphones secured in your ears.
or if that dont work you can use an in ear ones as youve suggested they go in your ear so the wouldnt fall out at the slightest move

Can't change background to graphics - help please?

Have trawled the help topics but I've been unsuccessful. I'm importing a tif or a jpeg and am getting it onto the browser but then I want to alter the background so the graphic blends in better.
Any suggestions on the best way please?

Hi Tom. Say I have a jpeg of a flag on a white background. You see it against the black FCE generates each time. To get the flag to "float" in white I need to change the background in the browser to white.

MacBook Shorting - Help!

My mac started acting up today...
If I adjust my screen (backwards or forwards), the entire computer shuts down and restarts. The same thing happens if I pick up my computer to move it to a different surface while it's open. The entire screen goes blank and the computer restarts. Why is this happening?! Has anyone else ever had this problem? It's quite frustrating. Please help!!

I've never heard that before ...so it's prob. not too common. Sounds like a short though (it does happen). Best to bring it in to your closest Apple tech to have a look at.

IMovie fall down HELP !!

I have macbook 13" on MAC OS X 10.6.8, I was upgreated iMovie from 8 to 11 version 9.0.4. iMovie always fall down. I did: open iMovie, import and load video, click on to edit it and after that iMovie fall down and close, after that open message: Check with developer to make sure iMovie works with version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the app.Be sure to install any available updates fot the app and Mac OS X. I already delete iMovie from my APP, that I make restart on mac, then I download it one more time from App Store, nothing help.

SHARE TO iDVD works only for DV and Apple Intermediate Codec (which were usually AVCHD in the camera).
Anything else should go to the Media Browser. DV and Apple Intermediate Codec files can also go to the Media Browser, and most people prefer this, because the report better results, and this allows you to have multiple movies on one DVD.
In my opinion, the option to send directly to iDVD as AIC or DV was added in response to customer beliefs that sending DV, for example, would save a compression step and therefor produce better results. However, iMovie has to render even DV to DV and AIC to AIC so this is not really an advantage.

Selecting A Female Model From Background - How To Help

Hello PSE users, thanks in advance for your help. Here's the image I have at hand: how do I make a selection around the model but excluding the object in her hand and everything else? I have quite a basic working knowledge of PSE and my skills are limited, unfortunately.

The newest versions of PSE have the Magic Extractor tool which should do the trick. My version doesn't, so I used the Magnetic Lasso to select the model. Working on a duplicate of the Background layer I selected her and inverted the selection and deleted it, leaving just her on transparent background. To correct the blue color cast I use the Color Cast tool, clicking on the white of her teeth. Some portions of her outline had hard edges so I softened these with a combination of the Blur tool and a small soft Eraser (you can also soften the outline of the initial selection by feathering 1 or 2 px).
One more thing. There was a red streak down her face so I removed these by cloning adjacent area.
I added a light blue layer so you can see the result.

Background Music Needs Help.

Hello there, I have a animation with 20+ scenes and I need to apply background music in it. I have a the music file in my library and my music is placed on frame one until the last frames of the animation. But I need to change to another music file in the middle of the frames how should I do that? And my music can't play in SWF file when I set in stream but it'll play when I set it in 'Event' or 'Start', why is this happening? Need urgent help on this! Really appreciate with the help.....

Background resizing issue, HELP!

As I am not a Flash guru, I humbly come to the pros to see if there is a solution I can be led to. Pardon any lack of proper detailed explanation.
I have an Flash XML driven site that I purchased from Activeden.net. The site has been quite successful, but my friend for whom I maintain it desires the background image adapt to the screen size, be it laptop, desktop, widescreen, etc., so that the image always launches in the browser window fitted. This is especially an issue on widescreen laptops as the background seems to be width oriented more than height oriented.
I reached out to the designer, who lives in Egypt, but with the recent events, I have lost contact.
The site is at http://designmethodsinc.com. The template includes a number of fla.s and swf's that are XML file driven.
Is there anywhere I should look to change code or properties for the relevant fla file. I do see the site is run by a "main.fla" file.
Guess I I ask is where in the properties or Actionscript I might look to make the background one static size.
Any help is appreciated.

The pop up menus have nothing to do with a simple rollover button. TO create a simple rollover, draw a button shape, convert it to a button symbol. It will be covered with a green slice guide with a small target shape in the middle. Double click on the green slice guide to open the symbol editor window. In the property panel, you see a State feature that enables you to add down, over, over while down button states. Add text and then select Over. Choose the Copy Up option. Make the changes you want to the text, color, outline, etc. of the button shape and then click on the left pointing arrow at the top of the document window to close the button editor. There you have it.
