Background image in a cell for CS4. No folder icon!
I'm using CS4 on Windows Vista.
I don't see a folder icon (or target icon) next to the Bg setting in the property inspector when I have the cell selected.
Where is it?
It has been removed. Use CSS instead.

Background Image In Table Cell
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or missing here. This is the first time that I'm using an image as a background. I've made a table with a 100% width with 3 colums and 3 rows. The left and right table cells have been merged and the 3 middle rows are at a width of 938 pixels. I have cropped the images correctly. The right column lines up perfectly, but the left column does not line up like it's supposed to with the image. You can take a look at it by going to http://www.wattsconcepts.com/new
Here is the code below if anyone wants to take a look at it. Any help in solving this is greatly appreciated. I am using Dreamweaver CS5.5
Thank you for your time!

Also, you don't need 3 columns for this website. 1 column and 3 rows should do. Also, never use 100% for <table> width. It's bad practice as you're making your site fluid which will render your site to malfunction on some browsers
And you had the entire 3 sections as 1 image as your CSS body background-image. This is bad practice. Crop only what you want for each section, never give the entire merged site as 1 image.
Try the code I've given you above and it should work perfect.
A quick tip: Try learning and using DIV with pure CSS styling instead of tables. Tables are a thing of the past. You could just google it and you have tons of free resources on how to create a site using DIV. Also, there's a beautiful tutorial posted by one of our senior members here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_html5_pt2.html that explains how to create HTML5 site with Pure CSS styling using DIV tags.

Background image instead of color for each sliding panel
I'm working with sliding panels and trying to add some style to the page. I have figured out how to put a different background color on each slide and even how to put a background image on the whole thing, but I cannot figure out how to use multiple images (one for each pannel). When I put the images in place of the colors it works fine in the Dreamweaver screen but totally disapears in a web browser. Here is the url: http://www.centerofdiscovery.com/the_center_of_discovery_home_page.html
any help would be great!Regarding getting the tabs to sit on top of the content panel, speaking generally here, make the containing div for both the tabs and the content panel to have a margin: 0 auto; setting.This is for horizontal alignment.
The blue rectangle can be belayed by setting border: none; on the specific rule that applies to the "a" links within that container. It is an indication that there is a link there.
Please rename the images that have word-spaces in their file names. Some browsers react badly to word-spaces.
I see that you have
<p>
</p><div class="slidingpanelandtab">
<blockquote>
<p><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(0); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" class="oneColFixCtrHdr" src="Images/panneltab.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(1); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltabb.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(2); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltaba.jpg"/></a><a onclick="sp1.showPanel(3); return false;" href="#"><img width="144" height="70" src="Images/panneltabc.jpg"/></a></p>
</blockquote>
Which sets off your "slidingpanelandtab" class div with an empty paragraph space <p></p> and then sets off the next section not only with <p></p> paragraph spacing but also with a <blockquote></blockquote>, which will by all rights indent that element.
I suggest that you get rid of the spurious paragraph tags and the blockquote; that should tighten up your spacing.

How to set background image in a cell?
I am trying somethign that seems tricky to me...
The image I am using I faded to a solid color on the bottom
half. I set the background image to to left and NO REPEAT but when
the cell grows with content and it stretched beyond the image it
goes blank underneath. How do I set a background color without
going over the background image?
I need them both to be background because I want to use text
over both.
Any ideaS?Color goes UNDER the background image. Just set it.

Im trying to set up an about me page like that of myspace.com
i know that in myspace you can set the background image center non
repeat can this be done as will with dreamweaver?Hello,
Yes, it can be done using CSS.
You can place this in your code, right before </head>.
Just substitute your image for mypicture.jpg.
<style type="text/css">
<!--
body {
background-image: url(mypicture.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: center center;
-->
</style>
-OR-
You can also do this using DW's dialog boxes (like a wizard).
If you have DW8 or CS3...or MX2004 if memory serves, you can
right click on
your page in design view.
Select CSS Styles > New
A CSS Rule dialog box opens.
Select tag, then in the tag box, type body.
You can select whether you want to add the CSS to this page
(like the code
above) or to a stylesheet linked to this page. If you are
going to use CSS
on multiple pages, it's a good idea to use a stylesheet. Then
you can make
changes in one place that affects all the pages linked to
that stylesheet.
When you click OK, a new box will open where you can define
your CSS.
Select "background" from the sidebar, and the fill in areas
are pretty self
explanatory.
I hope that helps.
Take care,

IPhone SDK: Add background Image to Tabel cell
Hi all,
I am trying to add a image to the UITableViewCell. For some reason I could not see the image when I called *cell.backgroundView addSubview:imageView*. But if I changed the code to *cell.contentView addSubview:imageView*, I could see the image.
Anyone has idea why?
Thanks in advance.
--------------------Here is my code
CGRect rect;
rect = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, ROW_HEIGHT);
UITableViewCell *cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:rect reuseIdentifier:identifier] autorelease];
UIImage *image = [[UIImage imageNamed:@"test.png"] retain];
UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image];
imageView.image = image;
imageView.opaque = YES;
[cell.backgroundView addSubview:imageView];
[imageView release];hi, as far as i know, the property backgroundView does not contain a view at all. If you want to use it, you have to assign a UIView (or subclass) to it.
So you may set the image as the cell's backgroundView with
call.backgroundView = imageView;
or you create a UIView, set it as backgroundView and add the image as subview of the newly created UIView;
cell.backgroundView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero];
[cell.backgroundView adSubView:imageView]; -

How can I put a background image into the cell of a table using Dreamweaver CC.
I want to place an image in a table cell and then be able to place editable HTML in the same cell on top of image. I also have Dreamweaver CS6. I can't get either one to do it using solution I found searching on web. Please help ASAP. What am I doing wrong. Example code would be great. Thanks!
No tables required for any of this. You simply need a 3-column starter page.
In DW, go to File > New > Blank page > HTML.
Select a 3-column layout from the 3rd panel.
Hit Create button.
Learn to use CSS floats, margins and padding to align elements. DO NOT use positioning.

Inserting table background images [was: CS4 DW]
Dear all,
I've have trouble inserting the background images in a cell of a table. When I was using CS3 I had the options of selecting BG color or image, as well as choosing the border color.
Right now in CS4 I can't even insert one in a cell, only color bg, and also editing the font size, color, type..
Can anyone advise?
ZCSS code uses a different syntax than HTML code.
With CSS you can use a background-color: #FFF or a background-image (URL). This can point to an absolute URL:
background: url (http:yoursite.com/images/bg-image.jpg)
or to an image in your DW local site folder:
background: url (some-folder-in-your-local-site/image.jpg)

I would like to set a background image in a cell and have it
not repeat. How do I do that?With CSS. If you need only one instance of this, define it
inline like so:
<table>
<tr>
<td style="background-image: url(your_image.jpg)
no-repeat">
your content here

Background image of custom master page just shows for 1 second.
Hi,
I have created a custom master page from a html code and I have applied to it on my site collection, but when I open it on the web browser the background image just show up for a second or less and then the background turns white.
I'll aprecciate any suggestions in order to solve this.
Regards.Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Background image of custom master page just shows for 1 second.
I recommend to change the class to use .main-content.
.main-content
background-color:#F4F2E5;
background: url('/Style%20Library/Images/image.png');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-;
You can also use a contol called cssregistration. Add a line that looks something like this, right below the existing csslink:
< SharePoint:CssLink runat="server" Version="4" /> (under this you add:)
< SharePoint:CssRegistration runat="server" name="/Style%20Library/Scripts/style.css" After="coreV4.css" />

Background image not repeating in IE6
I have a background image in a cell of a 1x1 table -
http://savanabar-leros.com/art7tables.shtml
the image is set to repeat x and y.
In FF2 and IE7 it displays as expected.
In IE6 the background image is not repeated
For the moment I've increased the size of the image to
compensate - but
obviously I would like to know what I have done wrong. It's a
very temporary
fix anyway as increasing the text in IE6 shows the text
dropping out the
bottom of the background image.
JoI was trying to find this the other day - something to do
with /75 being the
percentage of transparency I think.
Frankly I would love to use an "easy way out" - I have tried
and failed
despite having been given some excellent help - how oh how
please do I do
this?

How to repeat a background image to cover the height of the page?
Hi
I have a page with an image alinged to the top in a table and
I have a pattern in the background of the cell in the same table
I need that background of the cell to repeat it self along
the height of the page, so when someone views the page at a higher
resolution, the background image will repeat it self to cover the
extra space.
I've tried setting the height of the table to percentage, but
the table doesn't cover the height of the page.
I could also make the table really long so when viewed at
higher resolution there wont be any blank space at the bottom, but
this makes an unnecessary and long scroll when viewed at lower
resolution.
Someone told me to use css but i have now idea how to
implement that.make sure you have set your page margins to 0 if you don't
want the default
margin top left. Cut and paste the following into the head of
your document
just before the closing </head> tag.
then if you want to repeat a background image in a cell, you
need to create
a rule to do this:
.cellback {
/*this repeats the image across the page horizontally*/
/* if you want to repeat down the page, then change to
repeat-y */
background: url(pics/whatever.gif) repeat-x;
you can combine this background image rule with the other
margin setting so
you have:
<style type="text/css">
<!--
body {
margin: 0;
padding:0;
.cellback {
background: url(pics/whatever.gif) repeat-x;
-->
</style>
You then apply to the class to your cell
<td clas="cellback">

this shows how to use a background image for your entire
page:
