Background Tile Border Removal

Hi - I have a strange situation when large graphics tile seamlessly and smaller tiles have a grey/white border 1px wide. The latter defeats the object of the seamless design and the first solution takes an age to download.
Has anyone else suffered with this, or even better found a solution/workaround?
Thanks in advance.
Mark

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? How small are the small tile graphics?
Do you see it in iWeb or only after you publish the site?
I ran a test and used a background image in the following square sizes: 100, 50, 25, 10 and 1 pixels.  Did not see any border.
Reply to this post and add the photo to your reply with the camera icon in the toolbar.  Then we can download and examine the file in image editors.

  • Background tile turns grainy after saving

    I'm trying to make a background tile with a texture in it.
    I'm probably missing a step somewhere but here is what I'm doing:
    Open up a new documement 200 pixels square
    Select the square with vector selection tool (this may be the
    wrong step but I can't figure out how else to turn this into a
    vector image so I can use the textures in the properties panel
    --otherwise that panel is not available)
    make sure it's 200x200
    fill with desired color with paint bucket. (I used #cc9966
    go to properties panel and choose "smoky" for a texture (i
    want a sandy gravel tile)
    Lighten it up by clicking on Filters/adjust color/hue
    saturation (I set Hue at +9)
    This looks just like what I want,
    However after saving the image as a .gif it turns very
    grainy.
    Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  • Browser background tile - borders

    I would like to use an image for the browser background and have it tile seamlessly. Is there a way to remove the gray border that automatically shows up at the edge of every tile?
    Also, is there anyway to add a border for the edge of the page background and browser background?

    Hello,
    Instead of using "thin", try using 2px for the border
    thickness.
    That way, it isn't open to different browser's interpretation
    of what "thin"
    means.
    For example, change Left Column to this:
    #leftColumn {
    float: left;
    width: 200px;
    height: 450px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    padding-left: 10px;
    background-color: #FFFFFF;
    border: 2px solid #CCCCCC;
    Repeat the border attribute for the middle and right columns,
    as well.
    Take care,

  • Adding background and border with dropshadow to website

    Hi all,
    I have been working on my first website ever and I am sure I made several mistakes.
    I want to improve the look now and would like to add a gradient background (dark blue to light blue). To set the content apart from this I would like to add a white border around it with a dropshadow. I can see how to add the background, but I cannot figure out the border and dropshadow. Can anyone help? Below is the code.
    Thank you so much in advance—I am struggeling....

    #1 Remove this embedded CSS code from your HTML document(s).  You don't need it.
    body {

    body,td,th {
        color: #FFF;

  • Cell border removal in JTable

    I've created a JTable with a DefaultCellRenderer. I need a way of removing the border that appears around each cell(deafult yellow colour) and instead replace it with no border or a border that goes around the entire row. Any ideas?

    add this to your code, just after you create the table:UIManager.put("Table.focusCellHighlightBorder", BorderFactory.createEmptyBorder());

  • Svg background tile not displaying when site is published

    Hi,
    I have a few pages with an SVG tile graphic in the background (that makes a stripe pattern). Inside the Muse Application these all preview fine when viewed with the browser page preview inside Muse. However, once I publish the site as HTML and upload it to the web, the tied SVG graphic has disappeared.
    But other SVG graphic such as Logos and icons all display fine. So I'm a bit confused.
    Any suggestions?
    FYI This issue seems to be the same in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
    Cheers,
    Robbie.

    Hi Robbie,
    Does that SVG background appear OK, after you view the locally exported HTML version of the site before uploading it to server.
    Also, could you publish this site on a trial new business catalyst site by hitting Publish button, and check if that looks fine, just to separate this issue from the server side or Muse side.
    Thanks.

  • Page Background and Border Question

    Hi All
    I am attempting to build my site using some of the techniques employed in the following site- http://www.rshomes.com/index.php.
    One of the features I would like to use is the following:
    The top and bottom stone border are pieced together and it looks as though some is part of the background and some is not. They seem to merge pretty well into one another.
    I created a textured page background in Photoshop 500px x 500px and inserted it as the page background in Dreamweaver cs3. If I add the top border in this image it displays the top border again half way down the page. Repeat x cuts off the rest of my background.
    Can anyone explain the proper way of getting this done?
    Thanks!
    Gc

    In IE (and Firefox, and probably every browser) you can right click on the web page and select View Source to see the page code.  Once you can see the code, you can identify the files that are involves, and can usually enter those file names in the browser url field using the url to view them.  For instance, if the web site has a url of:
    http://www.someurl.com
    and you see in the source code that the css style file is pulled in using:
    <link href="CSS/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    Then you can normally view/acquire that css file by typing...
    http://www.someurl.com/CSS/stylesheet.css
    into the browser url field.
    This applies for just about any file you find references in html code.

    Hello again,

  • Pages 5 - "TEXT" in background - Can't remove?

    I bought a Pages template collection from the app store (Nick Maskill - Document Pro for Pages). I am using one brochure template (architecture).
    There are several "blocks" in the brochure, each either blue or white. A headline and paragraph text appears in each.
    Behind two of the blocks of text, there is text that simply says: Text ....Looks like Times Roman -- which is NOT what the template is using.
    I've moved the headline and paragraph text block out of the way, but I still can't click on this background TEXT to get rid of it.
    I've tried moving a shape on top of it to cover it up, but when I drag a square to cover it -- the TEXT just slides out of the way.
    I try to right-click on it, but there are only 3 options, to copy, paste or delete. None have any effect.
    Any ideas how I can get rid of this TEXT???
    I'm using the LATEST version of Pages (2013) and this template says it is compatible.

    Brad,
    Your Shape has Wrap set to Automatic, I would imagine. That would explain text running away from it.
    A better approach would be to eliminate the unused Text Box. Since you have trouble selecting it, I'd guess that it is set to be a Section Master. If so, there are two ways to select it. 1. Go to Arrange > Section Masters and Make Master Objects Selectable. Then click on the word Text.  2. position your pointing device cursor in one of the upper corners of the document window, just inside what would be the corner of the page. Then hold down the Command Key as you drag across the page until the text box is encountered.
    When selected, the sizing handles of a Section Master object are yellow-filled circles. Once Selected, hit Delete.

  • How to add or remove tiles at run time

    We are in the need to create following functionality through mosiac:
         1) Add tiles in layout at run time by user.
         2) Remove tiles in layout at run time by user.
         3) Option for minimize-maximize any tile in layout at runtime.
         4) Whenever any tile is minimised or removed from the layout, its operation should not run while loading the tile.
         5) User may create a layout according to his wish using available tiles and this layout should persist for the user's session.
    Is it possible to create all above by using mosaic. If not, please tell me which options can not be created.
    I have gone through the sample code found on adobe site but those are too simple to explain my needs. If there are some other sample code(which can explain my requirement), please send me the links.

    1 + 2 is possible with Mosaic today. The ClientDashboard example (part of Mosaic standard samples) shows how a user can add tiles via a menu and remove tiles using the "x" close button in the tile chrome. Adding and removing tiles can be done through the Mosaic client API.
    3) Minimizing and maximizing tiles is not yet supported (but something high on our product backlog).
    4) When a tile is removed by the user it does not run anymore in the background
    5) If you define a dynamic layout (see the Client Dashboard example) the user can re-arrange tiles within the constraint of that defined layout and those changes can be persisted within the session as well as between sessions (user can save view). Users can not change the fundamental layout definitions defined for a panel (that needs to be done in the XML definition of the panel).

  • Adobe LifeCycle Designer 8 - Fillable Forms - remove mouseover border

    Hi there,
    I am using Adobe 8 LifeCycle Designer to create textboxes on a existing pdf so that the users can type & print (in Reader) instead of printing & writing.
    I created textfields on all the places I wanted and saved it. When I open the pdf in a acrobat reader, I can see a blue background on the textfield area which is ok with me. But when I move my mouse to click & type I see a black border which I dont want. I do not see the blue background & the border when I do a preview in the Lifecycle designer.
    Thanks for your answer.
    Raaj

    Hi Raaj,
    That is standard behaviour. In Reader the Highlight feature is turned on, which gives the light blue fill and the border highlight.
    You can control some aspects of the highlight function using script, see here: http://assure.ly/***6tn.
    For example, the following JavaSript in the docReady event of the root node would turn off the highlighting:
    app.runtimeHighlight = false;
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • Batch script in Photoshop to remove background. Path has different name.

    Hi,
    I would like to make a script that selects a saved path in a image, invert the selection to select the background and then remove that area or color it white.
    That's not a problem as long as all the path's in the images are named the same. My problem is that the pathes in the images are named different. I want photoshop to just select the first or the only path in the list and don't go by name.
    Does anyone have a solution to this?
    Thanks

    Paste the following text into a new file in ExtendScript Toolkit (part of Photoshop’s installation, Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities/ExtendScript Toolkit … and save it as a jsx-file into Photoshop’s Presets/Scripts-folder.
    After restarting Photoshop the Script should be available under File > Scripts and can be assigned a Keyboard Shortcut directly, recorded into an Action, be used in a Configurator-Panel or started from ExtendScript Toolkit directly.
    // 2013, use it at your own risk;
    #target photoshop
    if (app.documents.length > 0) {
    if (app.activeDocument.pathItems.length > 0) {
    var thePath = app.activeDocument.pathItems[0];
    app.activeDocument.selection.selectAll();
    thePath.makeSelection(0, true, SelectionType.DIMINISH);
