Backup From Host or Client
I have to VMs running Windows Server 2012 R2. Should I configure the backup from the host, i.e. the host does the backup? Or should I configure the backup on the client, i.e. the VM back itself up? I guess the later might require an external drive for
each VM but the former only needs one. With the host backing up the VMs I assume I can still restore individual VMs rather than having to restore all of them.
I realize I should have been more specific. Here is some more info:
* I am planning to use the built-in Server Backup in Windows Server 2012.
* I want to do a complete backup of the VMs, i.e. OS and data. It should be possible to restore each VM individually.
* Note that one of the VMs has two virtual HDs (each on different physical drives), one containing the OS, programs and SQL transaction log and the other one containing the database files. Again the whole VM with both HDs should be backed up.
* In case of a problem with the system I want to quickly restore the whole VM to the last point it worked. It might lead to some data loss (not more than 1 day when doing daily backups) which is fine. It's more important to me to recover quickly.
It looks like based on your input I should setup the backup on each VM individually rather than from the host. When setting up the backup WSB asks for a HD that will be formatted and used for backup exclusively. Considering this, I assume I will need individual
external HDs for each VM. Or can I use one external HD and have both VMs write their backup to the same external HD?

Use third party tools like data-protector or use Oracle secure backup to make backups other than local server. -
Hello All,
we have created shared folder on multiple client machine in domain environment on different 2 OS like-XP,Vista, etc.
from some day's When we facing problem when we are access from host name that shared folder is accessible but same time same computer when we are trying to access the share folder with IP it asking for credentials i have type again and again
correct credential but unable to access that. If i re-share the folder then we are access it but when we are restarted the system then same problem is occurring.
I have checked IP,DNS,Gateway and more each & everything is well.
Pls suggest us.

According to your description, my understanding is that the same shared folder can be accessed by name, but can’t be accessed be IP address and asks for credentials.
Please try to enable the option below on the device which has shared folder:
Besides, check the Advanced Shring settings of shared folder and confrim that if there is any limitation settings.

How to tranfer file from between two client?

I'd like to tranfer file from client A to client B. Basically, I will treat one of them is client and one of them is server, then create a server socket/socket connection, then they can conmmunicate. I know how to talk between them. However, I don't know how to trasfer file from client to server, or from server to client in the same class. I mean not two class: Server socket and client socket.
Consider the following case:
There is a function, just like MSN file transfer: transfer file from localhost to "10.4.155.8". How can I transfer file from localhost to "10.4.155.8"?

I agree with you at most.
I am doing my practise project: the other MSN Messenger and more, I will include file encryption and file decryption, etc.
My point is one connection will make center server too heavy. Then I have to adapt your first means:
promote either Client A or Client B become server, leave the other guy still being client, because I know their IP address. This will free the server a lot.
BTW, I finish my code pretty much, say 70%. However, I felt tired for coding. I have my full time job in software development at daytime. I am looking one or two guy to share this project. My point is to improve the performance of the this Messenger. I feel my code maybe work fine with hundred of con-current user, maybe not, or maybe more, not sure. My email: [email protected]. Invoking a SyncAsync Process from a Web Client
I implemented a SyncAsync pattern as documented on the BEA website which allowed me to invoke an async process from a stateless process.
This works as a syncasync wsdl gets generated and is used by the stateless invoker process to form a web service control to invoke the async process.
What i would like to do now is call the async process via its syncasync wsdl from a web client. Does anyone know how to create a web service client from the syncasync wsdl which I can use from a web client ?Hello,

System is not coming up in MSCS environment after offline backup from DB13
Hi All,
SAP system is not coming up after DB offline backup from DB13.
Here are the details of system. SAP XI 3.0 SR1 NW04 running on Microsoft clustered environment windows 2003 and Oracle 9.2.0.6.
My observations:-
1. All the services of cluster admin was up except XE1.World when DB offline backup completed (executed through DB13).
2. services.msc entry OracleXE1920TNSListener (automatic start) and OracleServiceXE1 (automatic start) was down.
and sqlplus "/as sysdba" was failing with ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
Please note gw/netstat_once parameter is alredy there with value 0.
Further I would like to add, when I started cluster admin service XE1.World by right click - bring online, services.msc entry OracleServiceXE1 came up, but OracleXE1920TNSListener was still down, then I started listener from cmd mode lsnrctl start.
Kindly suggest.

Is it possible to use certutil to export multiple certificates from a local client machine store, to a .p7b file?
Scenario: We have a few legacy certificates based on some legacy templates (2012 R2). Some belong to an old SubCA (2008 R2).
I’ve can manually export them using certmgr mmc on the local machine to a single .p7b e.g.
cert_backupNEW.p7b. But this is not a practical solution for me and I want to achieve this remotely via certutil or some other util that comes with Windows 7 machines.
I’ve already worked out how to run a certutil command to add the certs back into the store e.g.
certutil.exe -addstore -f my cert_backupNEW.p7b
Is there a way to export multiple certs to a single backup cert, or is what I’m trying to do not possible with multiple certs?

[vmware] Best way to share files between host and client
Good afternoon!
I have successfully installed VMware server on my machine and set up a virtual machine, powering Windows XP for study issues (emulation via wine does not do the trick for me). The virtual machine runs fast and stable but does not meet my requirements unless I have two issues faced:
First:
How to access a USB pendrive monunted by the host system properly within the client?
Second:
What is the best way to share file system space between host and client? Should I set up a Samba share which is accessible for both host and client or is it save to grant my VM access to my physical hard disc as a whole (using it as a partition)?

~cgDo not setup your VMware to be able to access your physical disk as a whole. This would have you mounting the filesystem twice, corrupting it in the process.
You /can/ setup VMware with Sharing Folders that lets you share your filesystem (either / or just /home or something else) and that is what I would recommend.
As for accessing the pen drive from both operating systems at once, I'd say use the same Sharing Folders method. I always share /mnt so that I can access my cdrom/USB/etc from the vmware OS.
The sharing folders is basically the same as a samba share, but uses vmware's own method (HGFS). Samba is more secure (if you are worried about your VMware OS breaking from it's shell and attacking your real filesystem, which is unlikely). You need the vmware tools installed to make use of it. -
Not able to connect to Oracle EBS from host Windows 7
Hi, I have installed oracle EBS version 12.1.1 (32 bit) on OEL ver 6.3 (32 bit). I have installed Linux on Oracle VM virtualbox ver 4.1.16.
I am having host OS as Windows 7 home on my laptop.
While setting up the Network in Oracle VM virtualbox, I have set "attached to" as 'Host Only Adapter'.
I am able to connect to oracle EBS from the client server(linux) using Firefox browser. Both the services(database, Application) are starting & stopping without any problem.
I have entered following setting in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.
192.168.56.101 linux.server
IP address of Linux OS is 192.168.56.101
Please help in resolving the issue.

The firewall on the server has been disabled already.

You are apparently using HTTP to do the transfer. From client to server is an UPLOAD; hence you use a multi-part form and you write the file using an output stream.
From server to client is far easier: it is a simple DOWNLOAD. So in the client code, open an URLConnection to a specific url that results in the file, configure the URLconnection to do a GET request and read out the response using an input stream. If it doesn't work, the url is apparently not valid.
Search on google for "urlconnection file download" and you'll get plenty of examples. -
Offline Backup from DB13 is not Working

When I take backup from Brtools from OS level then offline backup is
goes fine but from scheduling offline backup from DB its shows No
action log found for this job. in job log its gives following error:

I change parameter backup-type as offline_force in init<SID>.sap file
But problem is same.

How to set MTA to accept mails from hosts on INTERNAL_IP only?

I would like to config a messaging server with:
- this mail server will accept incoming mails from hosts on INTERNAL_IP list only without authentication.
- this mail server will accept to send mail for clients with SASL and TLS only, which means, any incoming SMTP connection will be restricted to use SASL and TLS except hosts on INTERNAL_IP list.

Thanks for your response. ^^No. All emails to port 25 'hit' the tcp_local channel - there is a rewrite rule to switch messages from a certain IP range (INTERNAL_IP) across to the tcp_intranet channel, at which point the tcp_intranet restrictions apply.

I have to restore the RMAN full backup from tape to new host to a previous date say March 1st. My target database RMAN retention period is 28 days, today is 11th May.
Is it possible to restore the obsolete database from tape backup to new host as of May 1st. If not possible, I would like to restore the available backup say as 15th April from tape to new host.
Can you please provide me the steps to restore the tape old backup to new host.
