Bad export file

Hello,
I have a problem exporting my applicaton. After exporting (file format:DOS, build status: run & bild, debugging:yes, export object definition:yes, export comments:yes, file character set: Unicode UTF-8) I get file wich is not complete. It's simply broken before logical end of normal export file. Appex version is 3.1.2.00.02 . Here is the end of my export file:

• Recovery from bad export file - IMP0009 error

Hi all,
I have a large export that is split into 2Gb chunks using FILESIZE option at export .. string is something like this:
exp userid=xxx/xxx filesize=2048M file=bu${DATE}_01.dmp,bu${DATE}_02.dmp,b
u${DATE}_03.dmp full=y log=bu${DATE}.log
..export log showed no errors but on import I'm getting IMP0009 : abnormal end of export file
Typically there's a rather large and important table that's split between the first and 2nd files which I really need to get at. If I import at the moment it rolls back the first 1.1 million odd rows before it fails and it wont load the 2nd file at all, says something about the sequence of the file being incorrect.
OS is AIX 4.3.3
Oracle is 8.1.7.0.0
Any ideas how I can recover the table that is split accross files? I've tried catting the files together to form one large one (and import on an OS without file system size limits) .. no dice although perhaps I can alter it to fool it into thinking it's 1 file??
Thanks in desparation!

• PDF Export fails because of "bad" TIF files

I'm having this problem with InDesign CS3 on MacBook Pro, OS 10.5
PDF export fails occasionally, becasue of some "bad" TIF files. The weird part is that those files are completely good TIF files, which are perfectly readable by any other program! After I resave the supposedly bad file again, it helps, and the PDF export works fine. BUT - imagine me working with a project with 800 images?!! Thanks to some good scripting and forum people, I have found a way to locate the bad images quite fast by using a script that exports each page as a separate PDF, then at least I know at which page it fails. But it's a hassle to do that every time!
Last time I found about 60 "bad" files out of 862.
Why the heck InDesign treats some TIF files as bad? Even if it does, it could at least create a log file, that will tell me at which page the export failed! this could be a real help!
I've asked this question in Photoshop forums, but one of the employees replied that Photoshop doesn't produce bad files. Well, I'm not sure I can belevie that, but that's what they say.

What settings do you use when you save as TIFF ?
On PC platform sometimes InDesign treat TIFFs as "bad" when they are exported with "for Mac" settings.
Or maybe you should switch do PSD format ?

• Cleaning up the description field in the product export file?

Hello.
Here's the challenge: I have a large product list with large descriptions; with commas and other sorts of punctuation in it that will not allow me to simply download a product export file and re-upload it again without a lot of manual work to clean up all the "descriptions..." A lot of manual work.
Anyone know of a good way, or Excel Macro that can be used to clean up or remove all commas from the Description field in a product export file. Or maybe ignore this column, or something?
Many Thanks would be in order!
Tad

Hi Nicole,
Thanks for the quick response!
Yeah, it is odd, because I've seen it work with some simple test sites with a few products, but not so fortunate on this one and it has many products.
When I export the product list, all the data is generated in a single column, and a few bad characters in the first row, I'll highlight that column in Excel and "convert column to rows using comma delimited." I've tried a number of ways with the same results... For every comma in the description it'll push the text into the next column and offset the applicable information. In the end I have rows that don't have correct info and field elements not aligning with the right data. I'll end up getting a multitude of errors like the one below:
Error ERROR: [No Name found]. Import process failed on record: [35] Please ensure 1) mandatory columns are present, 2) all products have Product Codes defined, which should be unique (if importing products)
Example of export down load - single column - one record with header
Example of column converted to rows - one record with header (partial copy to column S):
Thanks for your feedback,

Use the SAME format (with the %U) that you used for the export.
This:
"+LMDRSITERDB_ASM_DATA1/dpump/PROD_data_expdb_NW01.dmp"does not look anything like these:

• Canon FS 100 - Exported files don't meet expectations

Hi,
I am working with a Canon FS100 which saves files as MOD files. I import those files via iMovie 08. The files look good in iMovie... and when I send them to Final Cut via a XML file, they look good. Its when they leave Final Cut that they start looking bad.
No matter how I export, quicktime file or Quicktime Conversion, my exported file always ends up being blocky and a bit pixilized... aka if I film a solid black, you will be able to see square areas of differences in the black color. Its not smooth like it is in the time line, on the camera, or when I export footage of the same item that I shot at the same time on a MiniDV camera. I also tend to get a bit of interlacing as well.
I have tried a few codecs in the options menu, but to no avail. Does anyone have a suggestion on the codec to use, or if I should take different steps?
Thanks.

Try using MPEG Streamclip to transcode those files to DV if standard def, or HDV native or ProRes... ProRes is likely the same look as Native HDV, however it renders a lot faster at the cost of a lot more disk space... but importing into iMovie results in the AIC codec I think, so that is going to cost you the picture quality you're after...

• Error During INSTALL of Application Export File

An error is reported during INSTALL of an application that I am trying to copy (Import/Install) from a "development" Work Space into a "production" Work Space. The production (target) Work Space is on the same HTML DB instance as the development Work Space.
I am receiving the following INSTALL error:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ",'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)" when expecting one of the following: . Following is some pertinent (hopefully) information:
The above INSTALL error takes exception to part of a Region Select (sql) that works fine in the development Work Space.
The common HTML DB (v1.6) instance is on UNIX.
A new Work Space was created on the same instance.
A new schema name was created during creation of the new Work Space. However, this schema does not point to a database. (We were not certain how to setup the schema to parse to our live database.) I will be running DBLINK upon production application startup in order to access the database objects.
EXPORT INFO -
File Format: UNIX (also, tried DOS but received same error during INSTALL)
IMPORT INFO -
File Type: Application/Page Export
File Character Set: Western European Windows 1252
Target Work Space is newly created on the same HTML DB instance.
INSTALL INFO -
*Parse As Schema: COLLIVE17 (Again, this schema does not parse to a database. I intend to use DBLINK.)
*Build Status: Run and Build Application
Please refer to above error message.
Again, any insights or suggestions are appreciated.

Urgently need help! I've read several other Forum messages having a related problem but none having same Install error message.
Again, my Export/Import from development Workspace to production Workspace is successful. The following error is reported when I attempt to "Install" into the production Workspace:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ",'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)" when expecting one of the following: . The "snippet" of Region Sql Select code that relates to the reported error is:
ELSE htmldb_item.display_and_save (5, DECODE (GET_GRADE_B93 (sac.stc_final_grade,sac.stc_verified_grade),'18','AU','1','A','3','B','4','C','7','CR','5','D','46','DR','6','F','47','FW','49','IB','30','IC','31','ID','23','IF','44','MW','9','NC','21','RD','14','RD0','33','RD1','32','RD2','34','RD3','35','RD4','36','RD5','37','RD6','38','RD7','39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W'),'GRADE_'||ROWNUM) END q_v_grade,
HTML DB version is: 1.6.0.00.67. I've also tried to Export/Import/Install the application into the "same" Workspace specifying the same schema, and only changing the Application ID. However, I get the same Install error (see above).

• Lightroom 5 cannot export files in original Raw format (LR 5.4, Mac, OS 10.9.4).

A client has the following problem: When trying to export files in the original Raw format (.CR2), the operation failed and a dialog informs us that "Some export operations were not performed". We can export JPEGs just fine.
After lots of testing, this is what we discovered: The problem does not appear to be catalog-based; we run into the same problem using a test catalog. The export operation works fine, however, with the same test catalog and images on two other machines, and it even works fine on the same machine with a new user admin account that we created.
So it appears to be something associated with the user account, , or with how LR is interacting with the user account, but I cannot figure out what it might be. We can copy the Raw files when using the Finder to do so. But not via Lightroom. Any thoughts, ideas of suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Sean

As part of your testing make sure you've tried exporting JPGs from the same folder as the CR2s you're exporting as original, and export JPGs from CR2s to the same folder as you're exporting your originals. This would test LR's read and write permissions from and to the folders being used.
From this document you can see that all the LR files other than the program, are under the /Users folder with different values possible for each user, so the difference could be that the users that work are using the original LR defaults, if you have just started using LR with them after you started having this problem, or at least that the user with the problem has some oddball settings that are interfering with Export as Original.
Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
You can test for the Preferences being off by either copying the preferences from a user that has the problem to a user that doesn't have the problem--probably through an external or common folder, or be deleting the preferences file from the user that has the problem and see if it resolves. Moving the preferences file or renaming it may be better than deleting it if no change is seen, then you can restore the preferences back by moving or renaming the file back to the original location and name.

I ususally do that type of thing with a state machine... read a token, look for what is next, and if it's the closing token, I don't write it out. You have well defined opening token syntax and closing token syntax, so it should be relatively easy.

Hi ajoddo20,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You can use Home Sharing to import music and other media from one computer to another. Please use the instructions and information located in the attached article for information on how to complete the process.

• Schema Import failed :IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:

Hi ,
I was running a database schema import from a database DMP file.
I encountered the following error in the log file that was getting generated :
IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:
All the tables got copied except for one. Now what I have thought of is to import that one table again after taking an export from the prod schema.
But what about the functions, triggers, procedures ?? How do i bring all of them in the schema ?
If reimporting the schema again the only option ?
Thanks
Kk

Hello,
In this order:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm#i1023988
Table Objects: Order of Import
Table objects are imported as they are read from the export file. The export file contains objects in the following order:
1. Type definitions
2. Table definitions
3.Table data
4.Table indexes
5. Integrity constraints, views, procedures, and triggers
6. Bitmap, function-based, and domain indexes
The order of import is as follows: new tables are created, data is imported and indexes are built, triggers are imported, integrity constraints are enabled on the new tables, and any bitmap, function-based, and/or domain indexes are built. This sequence prevents data from being rejected due to the order in which tables are imported. This sequence also prevents redundant triggers from firing twice on the same data (once when it is originally inserted and again during the import).
For example, if the emp table has a referential integrity constraint on the dept table and the emp table is imported first, all emp rows that reference departments that have not yet been imported into dept would be rejected if the constraints were enabled.
When data is imported into existing tables, however, the order of import can still produce referential integrity failures. In the situation just given, if the emp table already existed and referential integrity constraints were in force, many rows could be rejected.
A similar situation occurs when a referential integrity constraint on a table references itself. For example, if scott's manager in the emp table is drake, and drake's row has not yet been loaded, scott's row will fail, even though it would be valid at the end of the import.

• Imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file

Hi All,
I am trying to import an export from Oracle 8.1.7 source system to Oracle 11.2 using imp . I am getting the following errors may times during the import process.
imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file
The character set of Source data base is WE8DEC and the character set of target data base is WE8MSWIN1252 and i get the below statement during the start of the import
import done in US7ASCII character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
import server uses WE8MSWIN1252 character set (possible charset conversion)
export client uses WE8DEC character set (possible charset conversion)
export server uses WE8DEC NCHAR character set (possible ncharset conversion)
The error imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file is it due to the Oracle version compatibility or due to Character set compatibility issue.
I tried to create a new Database on same Oracle sever and i cant find WE8DEC in the list of character set to choose. Please help me on how to proceed.
Regards,
alen.

Hi Srini,
Data is getting loaded correctly, but i get several of these error imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file messages during the import process, so i am not sure what is missing.
Pl post the complete error message from the import log file.
1) Is it possible to import the dump exported form oracle 8 into oracle 11?? Do we need to take any special care during the import ??
Yes - no special requirements are needed.
2) The Oracale Database character set it WE8DEC, but when i try to create a new database in 11 , i dont find that character set , is the character set obsolete now , if so what character set is super set of WE8DEC ??
Pl post exact OS and database versions. Ideally you should be using AL32UTF8 for all new databases. WE8DEC is a deprecated characterset.
