Batch import users

Hi,
I was wondering wether (and how!) it is possible to run a batch import
of users in the Portal 4 database. Is there a script that reads a
comma separated file with usernames/passwords or is this sth. you have
to program yourself?
Regards, Erik-Jan

oops, apologies...i responded to the wrong post...

looks like PortletRenderHelper only gives you read access to these attrib...but,
there are some IPs which appear to open up that functionality...check
out all

  • Batch Import of User Parameters

    Hello,
    I've got situation as follows:
    - UME J2EE datasource is corporate LDAP,
    - users are available in J2EE ume.
    I need to load initial information about portal roles assigned to users and mapping info to backend systems.
    Is it allowed via Batch Import utility of J2EE UME? Is it possible to 'overwrite originals' when user come from LDAP, instead UME db?

    Hi,
    I tried procedure proposed by you, and it seems that NW04s SP09 has issues...
    What I did was (all done using Admins account):
    1. created group in ume database (users come from ldap), and then assigned role to group,
    2. assigned this group permission (read / enduser) to particular PCD folder,
    3. prepared flat file for batch import utility
    [Group]
    gid=group_name
    user=user1;user2
    4. started the batch import utility
    5. procedure went well
    Complete Import Record
    user=[user1, user2]
    gid=group_name
    status=UPDATED
    6. afterwards, no assignement between group and user is visible in ume
    7. in defaulttrace.log i can find the exception
    Undefined User Attribute debugParameters; return empty string

  • UME Batch Import problem

    Hello,
    I have a little strange problem. I created a importfile for users as described in the Administration Guide. I imported it and nothing happend. I tried lots of thing and found the reason.
    In the imported passwords are special characters like * and so on. The only character which causes the bproblem is ] If I remove ] from the passwords it works.
    Do you know why I can not batch import passwords which contain ] ?
    Best regards Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
    In the current batch import implementation, '[' and ']' are not allowed in any input field (not only the password). This will be improved in the next releases.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir

  • Batch delete users by ID?

    Hi all,
    does anyone know of a tool that lets me:
    1. batch import new users from a csv-file
    2. sync users by id by adding users included in the csv-file and delete those not any longer in the csv-file?
    Background: for our school I need to keep our set of users up-to-date with new students/students leaving school. I can get hold of a csv-file that includes an internal id.
    TIA,
    Michael.

  • Sharepoint 2013 - Active Directory Import User Profile Property manager fields

    Hi there,
    I juste encountered actually a little issue regarding the Active Directory Import User Profil.
    Importation seems to work well but I have a little problem regarding the Manager field.
    When I verify a user profil through the sharepoint admin page ("Manage user profil") , I can see the manager field is correctly populated, but if I want to check my profil as a user (personal information), the manager field is not visible.
    With Sharepoint Admin and Manage Profil Properties, I haven't the possibility to modify some settings for the manager.
    For example, Policy parameters is greyed.
    The only way I found to show this field in a user profil is to give the permission "allow users to Edit values ...".... setting I don't want to set.
    Have you already this sort of issue ?
    Thanks for your help/idea.

    Hi Michael,
    I don't remember well what I did exactly regarding this issue because I played a lot with user profil.
    I know I used this powershell script from Sheyia which in fact help me a lot to clean and create a good profil setting.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sheyia/archive/2013/10/09/sharepoint-2013-another-way-to-change-order-for-user-profile-properties-via-powershell.aspx
    For example, this script help me to resolve some double entries.
    Let-me know if it help you (or not of course)

  • Date parse error while importing users from OIM to OIA (SRM 5.0.3)

    Hi All,
    Env Details:
    OIA (SRM 5.0.3), Weblogic and Oracle 10g DB
    We have integrated OIM to OIA with extended attributes mapping by modifying iam-context.xml file to load users. Its done successfully. But when we map "Date" related attribute, its giving "Date Parsing error" and its not loading the users.
    We have tried loading users using flatFile mechanism, its also giving same result.
    Please suggest me. Thanks in Advance !!!
    Regards,
    Ravi G.

    Hi,
    Its a problem with OOB's OIMIAMSolution.class file, which is called while importing users from OIM. It used DateParse () conversion method only for all attributes which OIA attributes' name is ends with "Date". It defined, the conversion of date from (yyyy-MM-dd). So its expecting the input value should be in defined format(yyyy-MM-dd), if not, it gives a parse error.
    We found work around for this as follows,
    We have used other related OIA attribute which name ends other than "Date" string.
    Thanks,
    Ravi G.

    Regards

    I solved the above error by removing oscache***.jar file and keeping only oscache.jar in lib directory.
    However I am getting some other error this time. Let me know if you have any suggestions:

  • Importing users into WGM from csv file issues/crash

    Hi,
    i've been importing user information from csv files into WGM via the +server >  import+ function .
    It worked the first few times but now when i try the import progress bar pops up and promptly disappears without any thing importing.
    i've tried restarts, new admin account, reinstalled  WGM.
    I've also trashed some pref but i don't really know which ones i should be losing.
    The servers an OD master.
    any help would be appreciated.
    as a last resort what do i need to backup/save if i were to format/reinstall osx server? keeping my settings etc.....
    thanks
    paul

    What I did was:
    Exported the user list, to create an XML file in the correct format.
    Using this format, I created a spreadsheet in Excel (sorry Apple), and in the final column I created a field that concatenated the information I wanted in the ':' deliminated format of the previously export XML.
    Then just copy and past via pico into a pure text file and imported that.
    You have to be careful with comments in Passenger, using special characters (';!@#$%^ and others can cause the WGM to fail and crash.

  • Batch adding users to group

    Is it possible to create a LC user group and batch add users to the group?
    Example:  I have ~120,000 users in my domain but I want only 950 of those users to have access to a new form we will be going live with soon.  To do this I want to create a group for this form but I don't want to have to manually add the 950 users to the group.
    ~Josh

    1. Create a DirectoryManagerServiceClient Instance as follows,
        Properties connectionProps = new Properties();
        connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_DEFAULT_EJB_ENDPOINT, "jnp://localhost:1099");
        connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_TRANSPORT_PROTOCOL,Service ClientFactoryProperties.DSC_EJB_PROTOCOL);
        connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_SERVER_TYPE, "JBoss");
        connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_CREDENTIAL_USERNAME, userName);
        connectionProps.setProperty(ServiceClientFactoryProperties.DSC_CREDENTIAL_PASSWORD, password);
        //Create a ServiceClientFactory object
       ServiceClientFactory scf = ServiceClientFactory.createInstance(connectionProps);
       //Create a DirectoryManagerServiceClient object
       DirectoryManagerServiceClient directoryManager = new DirectoryManagerServiceClient(scf);
    2. Create a local group as follows,
       Group group = UMBaseLibrary.createGroup(groupCanonicalName, domainName, PrincipalTypes.PRINCIPALTYPE_GROUP);
       String groupOid = directoryManager.createLocalGroup(group);
       You can also create the above group by going to User Manager AdminUI. i.e. Home  > Settings > User Management > Users and Groups
    3. Once done with creating a group, now we want to make the 950 users members of this group
       The API to be used is directoryManager.addPrincipalToLocalGroup(String userOid, String groupOid);
    4. You'll have to run the above API for all the 950 users.
       So, fetch the userOid through PrincipalSearchFilter based on some matching critera as follows, let say emailAddress
           PrincipalSearchFilter filter = new PrincipalSearchFilter();
           filter.setPrincipalType(User.PRINCIPALTYPE_USER);
           filter.setRetrieveOnlyActive(true);
           filter.setEmail(Email_address_OfUser_To_be_Searched);
           List principals = (ArrayList)directoryManager.findPrincipals(filter);
           for(Principal principal:principals){
              User user = (User)principal;
              directoryManager.addPrincipalToLocalGroup(user.getOid(), groupOid);

    Rather than importing in Server.app you could try using Workgroup Manager.

  • Batch importing from an Xcell spreadsheet

    Hey all,
    Sorry for the long post, but I've been hounding these forums and the cow and have found a lot of great information, just not the last little bit I'm looking for. So bear with me...
    Trying to import an Xcell spreadsheet as logging information in FCP. Footage is P2 media (DVCroHD 1080p30) already stored on an external HD (with all file structure intact). Producer has a macbook, so no cool intel based logging software can be used. He is using P2pro, but is apparently unable to change timecode fields - a big drawback if you're trying to subclip.
    We've got Larry Jordan's template log, and another one that a friend gave us. Exported producer's log as a tab delimited txt file. Imports into FCP just fine (with the exception of 40 or so blank clips (no name, no reel, duration of 01 frame). Fields are as follows:
    *Name Reel Media Start Media End Log Note Description*
    The clip name is the (random) number assigned by the camera, the start and end times are accurate & the big old log notes he entered are all there. So that seems good.
    I was hoping to batch import those clips from the external HD using our new "subclip" in and out times. I am not seeing a "batch import" menu (am I?) If I drag the clip into the log & transfer window if launches the capture tool and tells me there is no deck present.
    If I simply try to "reconnect" the media it balks at the different start and end times - also at number of audio tracks, and frame rates - which makes sense since none of that is in the log file.
    If I use the log & transfer tool and cut and paste fields from the txt file, we get exactly what we want. So that's what we've been doing, but you can imagine it gets a little tedious. Tried to import the log file directly into that tool, but didn't find a way to do it.
    So to recap:
    I can import a funtional (as far as I can tell) log into FCP, but I can't get it to transfer the clips.
    And to the questions:
    1. is there a batch IMPORT function in FCP and I'm just missing it?
    2. Can I import a list directly into log & transfer?
    3. Is there a way point the batch capture function/tool to a file?
    4. Can I modify the item properties for a logged clip (other than # of tracks - got that one.)
    5. Do I just need to knuckle down and cut & paste and stop whining?
    6. Is there a really obvious solution I've missed?
    Again, sorry for the long post. Shane & David S., you guys have helped me with log & transfer in the past, any thoughts on this one?
    Thanks for listening, I'm back to googling and manual perusal...

    MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GB ram
    GeForce 8600M GT Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 Quicktime 7.5.5

    New info:
    If I make one of the clips that I have imported (using the cut & paste method) offline, and do a batch CAPTURE on that, it does in fact launch log & transfer and retransfers it correctly. If I could modify the logged clip to reflect that, maybe it would work. The "source" field for example. But FCP won't let me modify that field in the logged clip. I'll try adding it to my txt log and report back.

  • How to import user defined class in UIX page?

    Does anyone know how to import user defined class in UIX page so that the class can be called in the javascript in the UIX ?
    Thks & Rgds,
    Benny

    what you are referring to is not javascript.
    it is JSP scriptlets. These are very different.
    In order to keep a strict separation between View and Controller, it is not possible to run arbitrary java code from within your UIX code.
    However, you can run java code from within a UIX event handler; see:
    http://otn.oracle.com/jdeveloper/help/topic?inOHW=true&linkHelp=false&file=jar%3Afile%3A/u01/app/oracle/product/IAS904/j2ee/OC4J_ohw/applications/jdeveloper904/jdeveloper/helpsets/jdeveloper/uixhelp.jar!/uixdevguide/introducingbaja.html
    event handler code is run before the page is rendered.
