Batch Selective Song Removal?

I have more than 3,000 songs in iTunes. My 32 GB iPhone is nearly full to capacity.  I want to remove all Christmas music from my iPhone 4 ONLY, but NOT change anything on my 64 GB iPodTouch 4, which still has lots of free space.
I know that it can be done, but the questions is CAN I DO IT AS A BATCH FUNCTION without having connect the iPhone, go through ALL 3,000 songs one by one, and check off the ones I want to keep on my iPhone?  I'd even be happy if there were a Select ALL function, where I could REMOVE checkmarks rather than ADD checkmarks to the thousands of songs I want to keep on my iPhone!
I'm using iTunes 11.0.1.12 on Windows 7.

To change "password security" to "none" in a sequence you need to set the appropriate preferences first to do that.
In 'Edit -  Preferences ...' chose Batch processing and set Security Method to Password Security.
After that there will be a password request every time before you run a sequence, but now it's possible to run sequences with protected files.

I would like to know, on the ringtone page, where you can select songs out of your music library, is there a way to remove a song from the list after its selected? I would thin there would be a way to "delete" the songs from the list. (Clock app)
    Let me explain:
In the clock app for ios 6.0.2 I am a little confused. It allows you to go into your music library, and create a ringtone using any songs you choose. However, I cannot find a way to remove a song from this list, just like I cannot delete one of the preset ringtones (which I'm not trying to do, but just as an example)
Thanks for your time! If you need more information just ask.
(I believe both my iPod and iTunes are up to date)

I believe you just are able to delete them from iTunes.
    Hope it will be helpful

  • How do I remove select songs from my iPhone?

I am trying to delete select songs/albums from my iPhone since it is almost over capacity. Apple doesn;t seem to want to make this an easy task... There are songs I simply don't want anymore, and can't seem to remove them from my iPhone 4...

You can delet by swiping your finger from left to right which will bring delet button ,this wont work on playlists so basically you can't delet individual song from playlist
Yes, you can delete individual song in a playlist.
In playlist, tap Edit button (top left), tap on the left of song, tap red Delete button.

  • How Do I Get An Uploaded Song Removed From The iTunes Store That I Own?

I own a production company and I own a song that has been uploaded to iTunes Store for sale.  I am having problems with the people that I have trusted in properly administering the publishing aspects of the song. How do i get the song removed from the iTunes Store so i can get it re-released under another publishing group who have shown they can properly administer the publishing/copyrighting/monetary aspects of my song?

ps I used to be able to create my own "Ringtones" via iTunes and songs I had in iTunes, but they took that away I guess.
No they didn't. You can still create your own ringtone using computer iTunes.
    Here are the steps:
Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library
    2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)
    3. In the dialog choose Options tab
    4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work)
    5. Close dialog.
    6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version
    7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.
    8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes.
    9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r
    10. Drag and drop it into iTunes
    Now you have a ringtone.
Make sure it is selected in iTunes's Tones tab for syncing with your iPhone.

  • ITunes crashes when selecting songs for importing from CD - any clues?

I'm running XP Pro on a Dell Latitude 620 with the latest version of iTunes.
When I put a CD in, iTunes shows me the tracks. But as I am selecting tracks to play (double-clicking on them), randomly iTunes crashes. Not immediatly repeatable, but it always happens within 5 minutes or so of selecting songs.
    Any clues out there?

I had removed a couple of those artists and later replaced them with  backups from a separate hard drive and it didn't help. I was going to ditch and replace all of them today to see if that made a difference. However, before I did, I thought I'd check a couple of things as far as renaming the artists was concerned. So I added a number to one problem artist's name, then tried opening it in the 'Artist' list. It worked fine.  I went back, removed the number, and tried opening it again. Worked fine again. So I checked the other problem artists, without altering the names. They all open just fine. Problem solved! Well, not solved but mysteriously gone away, at least for now.
I think you're right about a faulty link being the problem, and I suppose something I did reestablished that link. Don't know what it was though, so I'm afraid I can't offer a solution to anyone else with a similar problem.

  • Exclusion of selected songs from Shuffle

Please can anyone tell me if it is possible to exclude a selected batch of songs from the shuffle facility on the iPod?
    Regards,
    Nigel

Good news! I was looking through the massive list of scripts at http://www.dougscripts.com in the iTune section and found this one...
"This script will enable or disable the selected tracks' "Skip when shuffling" option."
So you can select a batch and then do them all at once. Script found here...

  • How to sync just selected songs to iPad with iOS 5?

I have a lot of music in my iTunes account, acquired from CDs, the iTunes store, etc. and I don't listen to all of it regularly (I like to change it up from time to time); however, I like having it saved digitally on my computer; but, i don't want it all on my iPad or iPhone all the time, I only want the songs selected under my music list to be synced to my device.
My iPad is using iOS 5, my iPhone is using iOS 4.3.5.
Under 4.3.5, when I select "Entire Music Library" under Sync Music in iTunes, it only adds the seleceted sonds to my iPhone.  However, under iOS 5, it wants to add everything to my iPad which is just too much.
So, how do I get just the selected songs in my library to upload to my device using iOS 5?

I'm currently using a play list but it is not the same as in iOS 4.  The options will not work how I want either as it doesn't let me choose just the songs I want (which would be cumbersome but would work); I either have to select the artist (getting all of their songs loaded whether I want them or not), genres, playlists, or albums.  I really only want certain songs at a time; even with the playlist seleceted and synced, albums & songs not in that playlist are still showing up in my Music app on the iPad.  This is part of the reason I haven't updated my iPhone to iOS 5, I like the convienence of the iPod app in iOS 4 (which was removed in iOS 5 unfortunately) and uploading my entire library would be more than my iPhone has room.
    EDIT:
Demo, that was it; I completely forgot that was there.  I was so focused on the music section that I forgot about the features under Summary.  Thanks.

    Hello HoopsMD,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that the display on your iPod nano (7th generation) is not responding to your touch as you would expect. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the attached article and working through the steps within to help resolve this issue.
iPod nano (7th generation): Hardware troubleshooting - Apple Support
    Display
Follow these steps if your iPod doesn't respond to your input or has a display-related issue.
Screen is unresponsive and displays Apple logo or white screen
Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear. If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes.
If the Apple logo does not appear, or if the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect it to iTunes and try to restore.
Touch screen does not accept input
Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
The current application may be unresponsive; try resetting iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons simultaneously for a least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Sync with iTunes and restore the iPod.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • Deleting selected songs/picutes off i-Pod NANO (4gb).

I am wondering if there is any possible way to delete songs off your i-Pod
without deleting it all or reseting my i-Pod. As i only want to delete selected songs & pictures.
    Thank-you.

*only want to delete selected songs......*
Set the iPod to manual management, the content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes, you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from your library and you can delete from the iPod without deleting from iTunes: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Alternatively sync the iPod from a selected playlist. When your iPod is is set to sync selected playlists it automatically picks up any changes you made to that playlist in iTunes since you last connected. Anything you added to the playlist will be added to the iPod, anything you deleted from it will be deleted from the iPod. In other words the iTunes playlist and the iPod are kept "in sync".
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -My iPod for example (the dash will position it at the top of the playlists in Sources). Drag whatever content you want to have into the playlist. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists, artists and genres radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod: Syncing Music to iPod
    *.....& pictures.*
Remove the photo from the folder that you linked to when you set the preference "synchronize photos from" and update the iPod. For example, if the iPod is getting the pictures from the folder "My Pictures," remove or delete them from My Pictures and sync your iPod.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading and managing photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
5 When you want to change what photos are on the iPod just add or remove the photos from the folder you have made and syncronise the the iPod

  • Sync Selected Songs

    Two part question.
I have always lefy my Ipod (5th Gen Vid) on sync everything, Now I notice that I can sync just selected songs. Does this mean I can uncheck all my 1 star songs and they will be removed from my Ipod when sync'd but remain in Itunes? So this would be individually managing songs so to speak?
Next question is How do I select all songs easily? I have over 6000 and it seems it would take a lot of time selecting each one manually. Is there a box or way to 'check all'?
    Thanks for your help!

    Try Ctrl + A.

  • Batch Selection config. in Excise Invoice Creation (J1IJ) at Depot in CIN

    Hi,
In the business scenario that I have to map in SAP system stock transfer occurs from Plant to Depot. Then the batch is split at the Depot and minor changes are made to characteristic. These individual small batches and then sold to the end customer from depot.
<b>Problem:</b> If the batch number is kept the same at depot as the incoming batch number, system is able to find the incoming invoice in J1IJ. If the batch number is changed (to mark individual characteristic) then the system in not able to idetify the incoming batch.
    Please help...
In SAP help link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/09/ebf138cdd78a4be10000000a114084/frameset.htm I could find mention that "You can also automate this procedure, using the batch selection program (J_1IJCHK), by making the appropriate Customizing settings in the Country Version India (CIN) Implementation Guide (IMG)." Can anyone help by elobarinting what specific configuration is to be made for batch selection?
    Thanks

    Hi,
SAP has released a SAP note 1001446 which can be implemented for your requirement. There is an user exit J_1I7_USEREXIT_BATCH_CHK_FLAG which has the parameter NO_BATCH_CHK_FLAG. If you pass the value ' X' to the parameter NO_BATCH_CHK_FLAG then the batches will not be  checked during J1ij. you can implement this user exit through SE37.

  • IPod Touch 3rd Gen not playing the selected songs - What's the problem?

Tried to play songs by selecting them but iPod Touch is overriding the selected songs with other songs and displaying those instead. This happens in all my Playlists. Jsut wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this and what is the suggested resolution? Last time I used iTunes, I did switch on the Genius DJ - unsure if this has caused the irregularities now? Help!

I have just posted a similar problem.(5/11/2011).  Did you get it resolved?

Your MBP will support a 3T HDD provided it is formatted correctly and has sufficient power.  Most large HDDs require an outboard power source.
When you delete songs from iTunes you will get a message if you want to send it to trash.  If you send it to trash, space will be freed up only when you empty trash.  An individual song does not consume much space so if your HDD is becoming full, more drastic action s should be considered, such as moving an entire file to an external HDD.
    Ciao.
