Batch thread updates running?

What did just happen? How come the Oracle Database category list page shows almost every forum with a Last post updated around "Nov 22, 2012 8:01 AM"?
Same thing with the first forums on the Fusion Middleware category page as well.
Noticed the same thing in the top Java category (but with dates around "Nov 21, 2012 9:19 AM").
Related to upgrade preparations perhaps?

Well your problem is that you are not actually starting your pdf threads, you are simply calling the run method of the object. You need to call start() in the mft object. The start method causes the underlying system thread to be started then the execution of the run method is carried out within that thread.
You should check why calling mft.start() does not result in the run method being called.
1- Threads never run in parallel on a single CPU machine, they share time on the CPU. No CPU can run more than one process simultaneously even if the OS makes it look that way.
2- The process you are carrying out is not going to be performant enough using multi-threading, you are simply going to clog your machine with Threads which do a lot of I/O which will cause them to spend most of their time in the blocked state (this means that they automatically yield to other threads. It is actually more performant to use a single thread to do this job.

    VMM 2012R2 UR4 - Version 3.2.7768.0
    Not sure when this started happening since I haven't had to update or create a new RunAs account in VMM in some time, but every time I do, either through the console or through PowerShell it throws an error about The specified directory service attribute
    or value does not exist.  The VMM Service account is the same as it always has been, and other than this issue everything with VMM is working fine.  The full text of the error message is below.
    I am hoping someone has some ideas because I don't have any more at this point.

  • How to schedule the Batch file to run from task scheduler

    Hello Everyone,
    I have a batch file which kills the wscript.exe process, I am doing this manually, I need to schedule this batch file to run from task scheduler whenever the process wscript.exe reaches to specific numbers,  i.e if the wscript.exe process count in task
    manager reaches to 30,  the task schedular should execute this batch file,
    Is there a way to do so.
    dibu

    Hi,
    àI need to schedule
    this batch file to run from task scheduler whenever the process wscript.exe reaches to specific numbers.
    As I know, it will not help you to achieve this target via Scheduled Task. When configure Scheduled Task, there
    seems no Trigger option that help you specify this condition (process counts reaches to specific numbers) to trigger the batch file.
    You could consider that improve this batch file. Adding the
    Check function to the script will be a better option. For script issue, you can post it in the
    Official Scripting Guys Forum. I believe we will get a better assistance there.
    If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • Problems with network access after applying batch of updates

    Hi all,
    Yesterday, I've applied a batch of updates to my Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V server. All went good, but after the reboot I was not able to access... Microsoft website for update download, or WSUS to Report and detect updates.
    For my troubleshooting I did:
    ping www.microsoft.com (DNS goes well)
    With Wireshark running, did a http request to www.microsoft.com and I don't see any request leaving the NIC. This goes to *.microsoft.com
    This happens either with or without Proxy set up.
    I've reset Internet Explorer Settings, all with no luck.
    When trying over our WSUS, I get error 80244019, and with wireshark I can see that WSUS may not be able to get the updates because it is replying with 404 not found.

    Seems to me two issues here. One I might workaround with deleting the WSUS content, and let WSUS resync(may solve).
    The other... It's strange because can't seem to have www.microsoft.com leave my nic...
    As part of the troubleshooting, I have two nics teamed, 1 nic for live migration, 1 nic for cluster network, and teaming, obviously has itself a single default gateway.
    What can I do to go forward?
    PS: One last finding. In WSUS this server does not report since 13th January at 11:00 a.m. I've forced it to report, and still no update/report
    Nuno Silva

    Hi Nuno,
    Do you mean that you can't see a HTTP request of
    www.microsoft.com when you access it with Internet Explorer?
    Can you successfully access the www.microsoft.com with the Internet Explorer? If yes, it should be normal. Because
    www.microsoft.com is a CNAME.
    >>but after the reboot I was not able to access... Microsoft website for update download, or WSUS to Report and detect updates.
    Please try to update from Microsoft Update. Then post the windowsupdate.log here. It may give some hints.
    Best Regards.

    Hi David,
    Regarding your query below is the suggestion from my side:
    Option I: Schedule the Job from Data Services Management Console below is the steps.
    (a) Log in in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management console
    Link:<Server Name>:<Port Number>/DataServices
    (b) Go to Administrator Tab and click on Batch Job
    (c) Select Batch Job and in right hand side click on Add schedule
    Where you have Option to schedule as per your requirement
    Note : You can use Data Services scheduler Or BOE scheduler.
    Option II: Schedule the Job from UNIX environment below is the steps.
    (a) Cron Tab Access rights required
    for checking cron tab rights use below command
    crontab -l  ---> List of schedule Jobs
    crontab -e  ---> for editing or creating new schedule
    (b)Log in in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management console
    Link:<Server Name>:<Port Number>/DataServices
    (c) Go to Administrator Tab and click on Batch Job
    (d) Select Batch Job and in right hand side click on Export execution command
    (e) Update the details regarding JOb Server, Global Variable if used in the Job and click on export;Now check the "SHELL Schript" .SH file mentioned in Data Services management console link
    (f) Copy and Paste the Script in your desired location
    (g) Then create SHELL script, below is sample example

  • Batch not updating while creating delivery using bapi

    Hi
    I have used following bapi to create delivery BAPI_DELIVERYPROCESSING_EXEC and passed the following parameters into bapi
    lt_request-document_type = 'A'.
            lt_request-document_numb = deltab-vbeln.
            lt_request-document_item = deltab-posnr.
            lt_request-batch        = deltab-charg.
            lt_request-material = deltab-matnr.
            lt_request-plant = '3200'.
            lt_request-quantity_base__uom = deltab-kwmeng.
            lt_request-delivery_date = sy-datum.
    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_DELIVERYPROCESSING_EXEC'
    EXPORTING
    DELIVERY_EXTEND =
    TECHN_CONTROL =
          TABLES
          request = lt_request
          createditems = lt_createditems
          return = lt_return.
    here i am able to create delivery successfully but the batch which i passed in bapi is not getting updated in vl02n to do PGI.
    again i need to go to vl02n and give batch and quanitty manually to do PGI.is there anyway that batch gets updated in vl02n also.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hi
    My answer is pure assumption.
    Please check the following OSS notes
    Note 758810 - BAPI_PO_CHANGE vendor batch and batch not visible
    Note 1230268 - Field Vendor Batch never filled for PO BAPIs
    Please take help from BASIS and SAP, before implementing the OSS note

  • Is it possible to create a thread and run it in background in nokia ??

    Is it possible to create a thread and run it in background in nokia series 40 mobile phones using j2me ??

    Probably a good question for ForumNokia. If you mean start up a thread and run in the background while your MIDlet UI does other things, then sure, why not. If you mean that you want to exit your MIDlet, but leave a thread running in the background, then I don't believe you can do this on series 40. S60 is another story since it supports multiple tasks.

    With the new updates for iTunes, I can no longer print a CD case playlist when I burn a CD.  It prints in a jumbled mess.  I have reinstalled, updated, run diagnostics on my NEW printer, I am out of ideas!

    It appears to be a bug with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

    If I have lost my music collection I will be switching platforms ASAP. It is insane that Apple has updates seemingly every day for their products.

    I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts.
    You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode.  You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts.
    If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again.
    BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write.
    I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.
    Good luck!

  • S_ALR_80712357 'update document,update run'

    Dear friends,
    We are testing the report S_ALR_87012357, Advanced VAT return report. Accidentally we realized if we select the option 'update document, update run' but forgot to select 'batchinput session required', the report will marke the tax items and save them in table BSET, but no posting will be generated. I understand this is a mistake of user, however, I will be interested to know if SAP provides any program which can fix these incorrectly processed items, e.g. post the taxes to the vat payable account by using a special program. Or, is this a system limitation, say, user will have to run the program correctly with the respective options selected. I can not access OSS, so I am not sure if there's any OSS related to this.
    Is there anyone who can help?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    After some tests I found the fields I was looking for,
    So once document updated , the VAT line item in BSET Table is updated via 2 Fields :
    STMDT : TAX return on
    STMTI : TAX return on
    Thank you all for your time

  • Batch not updated in process order

    hi all,
                When i am doing batch determination and goods issue through coik pick list batch not update in process order. presently we are not doing batch determination in process order.after goods issue component batch fields are grey out in the process order

    HY,
    Batch field are filled only if you do Batch determiantion of components whether it is by auto or manual.And it is logical also becasue if you split the material qty. in more than one batches during goods issue( whether it is in COIK or in COR6N)then think what should be the case in Component screen in process order?
    As soon as you complete the Goods Issue This field becomes gray but the filled of Quanity withdrawn is update with qty you have withdraw.

  • How many  threads are running?

    here's the code... i am trying to understand, at each point, how many threads are running:
    I understand that one thread belongs to the caller of the start()
    & at the same time there is another thread belonging to the instances of each thread (thread1, thread2, thread 3 etc.)
    1public class ThreadTester {
    2   public static void main( String args[] )
    3   {
    4      PrintThread thread1, thread2, thread3, thread4;
    5
    6      thread1 = new PrintThread( "thread1" );
    7      thread2 = new PrintThread( "thread2" );
    8      thread3 = new PrintThread( "thread3" );
    9      thread4 = new PrintThread( "thread4" );
    10
    11      System.err.println( "\nStarting threads" );
    12
    13      thread1.start();
    14      thread2.start();
    15      thread3.start();
    16      thread4.start();
    17
    18      System.err.println( "Threads started\n" );
    19   }
    }can you tell me if i am counting the number of threads in existance correctly...
    LINE#.....CALLER...START...TOTAL THREADS
    13..............1.........1.......2
    14..............1+1......1+1.....4
    15..............2+1......2+1.....6
    16..............3+1......3+1.....8
    so by the time line 16 executes i have a total of 8 threads,
    4 threads belonging to each caller plus
    4 threads created by start()
    or is it
    LINE#.....CALLER...START...TOTAL THREADS
    13..............1........1........2
    14..............1........1+1.....3
    15..............1........2+1.....4
    16..............1........3+1.....5
    after line 16 executes does the caller thread die, thus leaving only a total of 4 threads?
    there is only one thread belonging to the caller at line 13(plus the thread it creates).
    at the start of line 14, the previous callers thread is dead & now a new thread is created that belongs to the caller on line 14... etc.

    well, i realize at the end there would be 4 threads but im trying to get my head around this explanation in the book:
    "A program launches a threads executioin by calling the threads start method, which in turn call the run method. After start launches the thread, start returns to tis caller immediately. The caller then executes concurrently with the lauched thread." there fore if i have 2 concurrent processes, are there 2 threads running????
    now having said the above, my question was:
    for each line,
    how many threads are in existance at
    line13
    line14
    line15
    line16
    thanks.

  • Iphoto will not open. Says updating but no updates running. Any ideas?

    Iphoto will not open on my Mac. Says updating but no updates running.  Any ideas?

    With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
    what version of iPhoto are you using?
    what system version are you running? Is your profile correct?
    what is the exact message you get when launching iPhoto?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
    did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
    are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
    how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Creating a simple batch job to run every month and perform a deletion

    dear all;
    This is just for learning purposes
    I have created a simple table below
    create table t1
      vid varchar2(30),
      quantity number(6,2),
      primary key (vid)
    insert into t1
        (vid, quantity)
    values
        ('G1', 2);
    insert into t1
        (vid, quantity)
    values
        ('G2', 3);
    insert into t1
        (vid, quantity)
    values
        ('G3', 0);Now, I would like to create a simple batch job, that runs every month which is used to delete all vid that has a quantity of 0...How do i go about doing that. I have searched the web but can't seems to find any useful info so far..

    you are missing a semi-colon in your package procedure call inside your begin ... end.
    begin
      dbms_scheduler.create_job
        job_name => 'jobdeletezeroquantity'
        , program_name => 'PLSQL_BLOCK'
        , job_action => 'BEGIN mfg.testpkg.deletezeroquantity END;'             <-- missing semi-colon on mfg.testpkg.deletezeroquantity
        , start_date => systimestamp
        , repeat_interval => 'freq=monthly; byday = 1'
        , end_date => null
        , enabled => True
        , comments => 'used to run a delete procedure every month'
    end;should be:
    begin
      dbms_scheduler.create_job
        job_name => 'jobdeletezeroquantity'
        , program_name => 'PLSQL_BLOCK'
        , job_action => 'BEGIN mfg.testpkg.deletezeroquantity; END;'
        , start_date => systimestamp
        , repeat_interval => 'freq=monthly; byday = 1'
        , end_date => null
        , enabled => TRUE
        , comments => 'used to run a delete procedure every month'
    end;

  • Stopping a thread from running

    Hai
         I am new to java. It would be helpful for me if someone helps me out in doing this.
         Actually in my program ,I should
    i. Find out whether a particular file exists in the given directory or not.
    ii. If the file doesn't exist, my program should wait for certain timeframe and check for the same file again.
    iii. If the program cannot find the required file within the timeout specified, my application should exit.
         I have done (i) and (ii) using threads. But in the case of (iii), I came to know that stop() method is depricated.
         I am providing my code for a better understanding. Could you please let me know, what would be the best way to stop the thread from running after the timeout is reached in my program?
    Thanx in advance
    import java.io.File;
    public class Fileexists implements Runnable
    static Thread t;
    public static void main(String[] args)
         System.out.println("creation of object");
         FileExists test = new FileExists();
         t = new Thread(test);
         t.start();
    // run method
    public void run()
         File f = new File("searchfile.txt");
         boolean b = f.exists();
    System.out.println();
    if(b == false)
    System.out.println("Required file doesnot exists");
    try
         t.sleep(20000);
    catch (InterruptedException e)
         // TODO Auto-generated catch block
         e.printStackTrace();
              t.run();
    else
    System.out.println("Required file found");
    } // end of run()
    } // end of FileExists class

    Actually your use of threads is a difference which makes no difference. The JVM starts an initial thread and runs your main(), at the end of which you start a thread and return. So you've just replaced one thread with another. There's no parallel processing.
    The t.run() at the end of your run() method won't work. A particular Thread object can only run once. It will give you an IllegalStateException.
    I can't see how multi-threading will help you with this task at all, all you need is a simple loop with a Thread.sleep in it.
    If you really want to use a separate thread or Timer to implement a timeout (as an exercise) then use Thread.interrupt() to wind up a thread. The looping thread should test with Thread.interrupted() in it's loop condition, if it's in sleep() when interrupted an InterruptedException will be thrown which you should catch and allow to break the loop and let the thread terminate.
    So your loop structure looks like:
    try {
    while(!Thread.interrupted()) {
        ...  do your test
        Thread.sleep(.....);
      System.out.println("Thread terminated by detecting interrupted");
      } catch(InterruptedException ex)  {
         System.out.println("Thread interrupted from sleep");
    You can get the Thread for the main thread simply by storing Thread.currentThread() in a Thread reference.
    I'd suggest using a java.util.Timer to launch your time-out and leave the loop on the main thread started by the JVM.
