BCS External Item Picker - Multi Select

Hi,
I've created a ECT using a WCF-Service to consume some sharepoint list data. ECT has a ReadList and ReadItem method.
I embedded a external item picker in a Infopath 2013 form, it's connecting to my ECT and displaying data as expected.
Now I tried to enable the multi select option (beside I tried to enable a default query as well), I cannot get it to work.
When I look at the external item picker url with fiddler, multiselect is always false, defaultquery always empty.
I tried several ECT (a .NET version, even 1 with famous Northwind), but multi select never works.
What is the trick?
KR
Andreas

In the IP form, is the ECT bound to a list column? is that list column configured to allow multiple values?
if IP is being used for an XML form, you might need to have multiple pickers inside a repeating field.

    Can you tell what is the issue ? Also when I created form infopath form from the sharepoint designer for the list using that external content type, it shows this data type is not allowed in the infopath form.

    Hello,
    What version of IP form you are using?

  • SEARCH item in MULTI-SELECT LOV (Hierachical Tree)

    I have created a multi-select LOV using a hierarchical tree; providing the query for the tree in the Functional/Data Query property.
    The Multi-Select LOV works fine. As you would suspect some LOV's have long lists that one must scroll through.
    I would like to implement a SEARCH field (as seen in Forms standard LOV functionality) that will search through my Tree Node values and highlight the item searched (again as the standard LOV functionality works). Thus, allowing the user to quickly find the values in the list.
    How do I go about referencing the Tree Node values to the value in the search (field) item?

    Hello,
    Search, through the FTree package's functions, those that allows to navigate through the leaves.

    Hi,
    As you are tracking changes in ALV data you must define a event handler for ALV evenr ONDATA_CHECK.
    On defining an event handler you will be getting a structure called t_param.

  • BCS: Pass a filter based on current SPSite to ReadList method from External Data Picker on list item form

    Hi,
    I am using a BCS model to get external data. I have set this up with filters and it works fine. What I would like is to assign a filter value based on the current SharePoint site. This is because I have multiple SharePoint sites that use the same BCS model,
    but the user only needs to see certain records per each site. I have found ways to do this by adding and connecting web parts to a custom page. However, my particular need is to do this for the external item picker that pop up on the list item new and edit
    form.
    I hope my question is clear and look forward to your answers. Please not that this question is specifically related to the external data picker on the new and edit form.
    Regards,
    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
    Thanks for posting your issue, Kindly find the CAML query that you can use to pass the filter value based on your SPSite
    <View>
    <Method Name='ReadList'>
    <Filter Name='ABCName' Value='{0}'/>
    </Method>
    <Query>
    <Where>
    <Contains>
    <FieldRef Name='Name'/>
    <Value Type='Text'>{0}</Value>
    </Contains>
    </Where>
    </Query>
    <ViewFields>
    <FieldRef Name='Name'/>
    <FieldRef Name='Id'/>
    <FieldRef Name='BdcIdentity'/>
    </ViewFields>
    </View>
    Be sure to replace the filter Name attribute value with your own FilterDescriptor name as defined in BCS model and Value attribute with your own value.
    I hope this is helpful to you, mark it as Helpful.
    If this works, Please mark it as Answered.

  • Multi-select prompt and variable

    Hello!
    I have a table function (which is my data source) that has a number of input parameters and the problem is with multi-select prompt because it doesn't support setting a value in a variable (OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1.). Can I somehow get a list of selected items from multi-select prompt and pass it as one string (value) to my request variable? Or maybe you have any other idea?
    I've searched old posts but I couldn't find solution to my problem regarding this issue.
    Tnx a lot!

  • Set Default Value of Multi-select list item

    I have a multi-select list item I want to default the value of to '%' (which is really '%null%') and have it selected. I tried setting default value of item, but it doesn't take '%null%'. I also tried a computation with a static of
    :P507_ITEM := '%null%'; How do you get the default value set and selected?

    Hi
    Shijesh is right, you need to change your null return value and use that return value as your default. Try and use something of the same datatype as your real return values if you plan to use '%' to display all as it will make your queries simpler. eg.
    Company A returns 1
    Company B return 2
    % returns 0
    Then your query would be...
    SELECT ...
    FROM ...
    WHERE company_id = DECODE(:P_COMPANY,1,1,2,2,0,company_id)
    Hope this makes sense.
    Cheers

  • Items are not visible in multi-select listbox in a static form

    Hi,
    I'm using adobe livecycle designer 8.0. I have a multi-select listbox, the items are hardcoded into the form. In runtime, some of the items are selected from the server side when the PDF is generated. If only one item is selected then there is no issue. When multiple items are selected, the list box is behaving as below.
    If the PDF is static,
    If the listbox is readonly, then all the selected items are visible (highlighted in red)
    If the listbix is editable, then it appears blank. If you select it using right click, then you can see all the items and the selected items. But if you click again somewhere outside the listbox, then the listbox goes blank. If you select it using left click, then the previous selections are gone and the items are visible with the item you just selected.
    If the PDF is dynamic, then the multi-select  is working fine.
    Aren't the multi-select listboxes supported in static PDFs?
    For your reference, I created 2 templates (static and dynamic) and populating the values using javascript in the docReady event. I'm using \n character as delimter to select the multiple items. Please find them at the below links.Notice the "List Box 1" in both forms. In static form, the values appear only after you right click the listbox.

    Hi All,
    In such cases, please try to check as below :
    1) Create Leave request work item from Employee and check the same under the UWL Tracking tab of employee.
    2) Log-in to swi5 transaction of the respective back end system and give "US" -> manager's UserID -> Choose Tasks to be completed from the drop down -> Remove any date if mentioned -> Execute.
    3) Here if you can see the Leave request created, but not on the portal, it reflects some portal issue like sync.
    4) If no leave request work item is seen here, then there is a problem in the employee manager mapping or the workflow setup.
    5) In such cases, you can try to check the Swi1 and check the log of that workflow to understand the current status of the Leave request.
    Revert if further help is needed with more info.
    Reward points if found useful.

  • Query on Multi-select Item and STRING_TO_TABLE

    Hi everyone - here's the scoop:
    I've got a multi-select item on a US state field that returns one or more state ID selected (eg. '15:26:49'). I want to use that to find rows in a table where the state ID is one of those values. State ID is indexed and I want to ensure that the index can be used, so I don't want to be doing "where instr(...)".
    I read a post on Ask Tom - http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:110612348061 - where he parses a string of values into a table that can be used in an IN clause, thus allowing use of the index.
    Here's my question - I'd like to take advantage of APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE to do my parsing, but it returns APEX_APPLICATION_GLOBAL.VC_ARR2. I tried a bunch of different casts but couldn't make it work with a query done as per Tom Kyte's post. Ultimately I wrapped STRING_TO_TABLE and just "copy" the VC_ARR2 to a table of numbers, like this:
    create or replace function string_to_numtbl(p_string in varchar2, p_separator in varchar2 default ':')
    return num_table as
    l_data num_table := num_table();
    l_vc_arr2 APEX_APPLICATION_GLOBAL.VC_ARR2;
    begin
    l_vc_arr2 := APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(p_string, p_separator);
    FOR z IN 1..l_vc_arr2.count LOOP
    l_data.extend;
    l_data(l_data.count) := l_vc_arr2(z);
    END LOOP;
    return l_data;
    end;
    So I can use the multi-select to feed an IN clause. I'm still getting familiar with casts, but it seems to me thought that there ought to be a straighter path to allow the return of APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE to be used in an IN.
    Any thoughts?

    VC_ARR2 is an index by table and in the Tom's example he is using a nested table which
    has a different structure and allows different operations. To make this short, you will not be
    able to use VC_ARR2 in a SQL statement. Yes, it would be good since ApEx has its own
    function to convert a string to a table and back. I have no problems using Tom's examle.
    Here, you will find some description on differences:

  • Multi-Select Page Item in Application Item

    I have a multi-select page item that I need to copy to an Application Item (for AJAX select). I have a js function that does the following:
    get.add('REFRESH_LOV_FK_SCHOOL',pSchool.value);
    It only seems to copy the first value (before the ':') of the multi-select list to the application item. I verified this with the session state of both the page items and application item. Is there a reason it only copies the first value?

    Bob
    In your JS function you have declared the formal parameters as pSchool,pYear,pApp. However the code in the function references 'PSelect' I shall assume that you meant 'PSchool' <script>
    function get_select_list_xml1(pSchool,pYear,pApp){
    var l_Return = null;
    var l_Select = html_GetElement(pSchool);
    var schoolVal=$f_SelectValue(pSchool.id);
    alert ('values=' + schoolVal);
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,
    'APPLICATION_PROCESS=' + pApp,0);
    get.add('REFRESH_LOV_FK_SCHOOL',schoolVal);
    get.add('REFRESH_LOV_YEAR',pYear.value);
    gReturn = get.get('XML');
    if(gReturn && l_Select){
    var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option").length;
    l_Select.length = 0;
    for(var i=0;i<l_Count;i++){
    var l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("option");
    appendToSelect(l_Select, l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('value'),
    l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue)
    get = null;

  • How to make list item multi select

    Hi all,
    I'm suing Oracle 10g and I want to make a TList multi-selectable and then how I can return the selected records
    Thanks in advance :)

    This is where you should go

  • SSRS 2012: How to get a "Select All" that returns NULL instead of an actual list of all values from a multi-select parameter?

    I have a multi-select parameter that can have a list of thousands of entries. In general, the user will pick a few entries from the list or "Select All". If they check "Select All", I would much prefer that I get a NULL or an empty string
    instead of a list of all values. Is there any way to do that?
    In experimenting with a work-around, I tried putting an "All" label with a null value in the list, but it is ignored (does not display in the drop-down). If I use an empty string for the value, my "All" entry does get displayed, but so
    does "Select All", which is confusing. Is there a way to suppress "Select All"?
    - Mark

    I adapted the following from a workaround posted by JNeo on 4/16/2010 at 11:14 AM at
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/249227/multi-value-select-all-parameter-in-reporting-services
    To get a null value instead of the full list of all values when "Select All" is chosen:
    1) Add a multi-value parameter "MyParam" that lists the values to choose.
    2) Add a DataSet "ParamCount" identical to the one used by "MyParam", except that it returns a single column named [Count] that is a COUNT(*) of the same data
    3) Add a parameter "MyParamCount", set it to hidden and internal, then set the default value to 'Get values from a query', choosing "ParamCount" for the Dataset and the one [Count] column for the Value field.
    4) Change the parameter for the main report DataSet so that instead of using [@MyParam], it uses this expression:
    =IIF(Parameters!MyParam.Count =
    Parameters!ParamCount.Value, Nothing, Join(Parameters!MyParam.Value, ","))

  • Parsing Through the Multi Selection Values in a PL/SQL Procedure

    Greetings,
    This should be an easy one for one of you PL/SQL experts. I'm not, so I am unsure how to code this up.
    I have a Multi Selection page item and am passing the value of it to a PL/SQL routine as a parameter. I am able to use the value if I only pass my procedure one value, so I have it working. Just not with multi-values I need the code in the procedure to loop through the values. How do I code that up? The procedure is relatively short and is included below. p_cell is the multi-value parameter.
    Oh yes... You probably need to know this. The values are coming in like this - 1-3:2-3:3-3:5:6
    Also, the values are the x-y coordinates of a grid I have over an image on the page. The routine removes certain cells (1-3, etc.) from the grid. The grid is created using HTML, so I have to remove lines of HTML to remove a cell from the grid. Just in case that is helpful.
    Thx, Tony

    Not sure I understood your need, but it sounded like you need to unscramble a string into a set of rows. If so, I would give you 2 ideas:
    1. STRING_TO_TABLE function: http://www.sloug.org/i/doc/api073.htm
    2. Other ways (Regular expression or XML): http://apex-at-work.blogspot.com/2011/05/two-ways-using-string-to-table-in-apex.html

  • Multi-Select Box Not Displaying Values Passed From Grid?

    Coldfusion 8
    I inherited an application and am trying to maintain and improve it... hit a snag today.
    I have a multi-select box that is not displaying what I expect.  The values come from a ColdFusion grid which is based off a database query.
    Here is the code for the select - does not work - nothing is selected:
    <cfselect name="USER_IDS" multiple="true" queryposition="below" selected="USER_IDS" query="ActiveUsersPlus" disabled="#disabled#" value="G_USER_WORK_UNIT_SK" display="G_USER_ID" >
    </cfselect>
    Now if I change the multiselect to a single select like below - it takes the first item in the field list (from the grid) and selects it in the drop down.
    <cfselect name="USER_IDS" multiple="false" queryposition="below" selected="USER_IDS" query="ActiveUsersPlus" disabled="#disabled#" value="G_USER_WORK_UNIT_SK" display="G_USER_ID" >
    </cfselect>
    Or if I assign a variable like this and use the multi-select code it seems to work as well.
    testlist = "22,26";
    <cfselect name="USER_IDS" multiple="true" queryposition="below" selected="#testlist#" query="ActiveUsersPlus" disabled="#disabled#" value="G_USER_WORK_UNIT_SK" display="G_USER_ID" >
    </cfselect>
    I have displayed the value of "User_IDs" in the grid and in the data entry part of the screen to see values of:  22,26
    to make sure that wasn't my issue.
    Do grids and multiselects require something additional?  Any advice on how to resolve?

    Problem was related to some javascript for the select box.  There was a function for a single select box but not a multiple select box - this fixed it:
    if(theForm.elements[i].type == "select-multiple"){
                        var selectBox = theForm.elements[i];
                        var sbname = selectBox.name;
                        cpvalue = String(eval('record.data.' + sbname));
                        var NotifyArray = cpvalue.split(',');
                        for (var j=0; j < selectBox.length; j++) {
                            selectBox[j].selected = false;
                        for (var j=0; j < selectBox.length; j++) {
                            sbvalue = selectBox[j].value;
                            for (var k=0; k < NotifyArray.length; k++){
                                if (sbvalue == NotifyArray[k]){
                                    selectBox[j].selected = true;
