  • What data is stored in the CC Background Job Spool File?

What information is stored in the location referenced in the CC Configuration/Miscellaneous setting of 'Background Job Spool File Location'?  Our test and production versions of this system are configured the same, with both pointing to the same location on their respective servers.  However the test location shows a virsa/bgJobSpool folder in it containing multiple files while our production system shows this location as empty.
Both versions seem to be working OK.  We are running backgrounds jobs in each (risk analysis, management reviews, rule generation, etc.) and seeing results.
We updated to the GRC 5.2 a few months ago and are currently on SP9.  This issue came up during a system audit, so we need to come up with an explanation for the differences.
    Thanks.

I had reviewed that SAP note previously, but it does not seem to help any with our situation.  We are running ad hoc background risk analysis jobs frequently and can always see the results.  Everything seems to work fine from the application side, we just don't see the logs where we thought they should be over on the server.
From the outside, it looks like maybe it is ignoring the configuration setting and is still using the default location for the log.  Does it need to be on the same drive as the application?  I believe our application and the default location are both on our E drive, but we want to put the location for this and the Alert Log on the D drive.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Use these function modules.
    JOB_OPEN
    JOB_SUBMIT
    JOB_CLOSE
in JOB_SUBMIT function module u can pass to start the job immediately in export parameters PRIPARAMS structure  field name PRIMM which has to be set to 'X' to start immediately.

  • Pb with file upload.

              Hello,
we do have a problem with file upload ! We're using the o'reilly class, but every
time we add ENCTYPE="multipart/formdata" in the html, we're unable to correctly get
              the request. ?
any idea ? Is there something to configure ?
              thx

The request is in the form of multipart data and is parsed by the
Oreilly class only. To access other information from the request
the Oreilly class has provided you with the methods for getting
the other data. You have to access the data from the request using
              the Oreilly class methods

  • Newbie : memory problem with file uploading

    Hello
I'm exdending a web app based on jsf and , being new to it and java in general, i'm having a problem with file uploading.
The customer needs to upload large file (more than 30 MB). The application accomplish this using a fileupload component, to let the user select the file, and passing the array of bytes to a web service method.
    I'm using netbeans 6, tomcat 5.5.
When i try to upload a file too large i got an outofmemory on the local tomcat. So i've rised jvm memory and going on with tests i've found that growing the size i got an http 500 error from the service (the developer of the service has found an out of memory too ).
I think the service is not modifiable, so i were asking if threre were a way to optimize the file uploading process (a component, a library, a pattern ...) or my only chioice is to rise available memory on both sides.
I've notice the wsdl declares as base64binary type the data parameter , while netbeans 6 generates a client proxy with a byte[] parameter. Is correct or is a netbeans problem?
searching with google i've found few thing i haven't fully understood due to my lack of experience:
the mtom , how can evaluate if it's suitable to help in my problem (i suppose it involves more the web service rather than the client)
something about the size of a soap body.
    thank you in advance
    Stefano

Which component exactly are you using? Declaring the stream as a raw byte[] is certainly not efficient. Write code yourself, don't let it autogenerate.
I can highly recommend you the Tomahawk t:inputFileUpload component. It is easy to integrate in Mojarra. You can find here an useful article: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/02/uploading-files-with-jsf.html].

  • Background job and file transfer

    Hello
I am looking for a way to transer a file that is created in an overnight background job on our R/3 Enterprise (Basis 6.20) to an ITS server within the same network. As no one is logged in at the time of creation of the file I cannot use the usual gui_controls. I cannot find an FM that will initiate a login on a Windows server and transfer a file. Should I script it on the AIX host? Has anyone done this before? Any ideas?
Thanks for your interest and answers.

  • BACKGROUND JOB & APPEND FILE?

    Hi
I have a requirement  , i have created a program  and taking its output in text file
through direct execution, using FM gui_download . and i want to schedule it to execute after every 15 minute.and Append the same text file with new values and old values should remain in the text file .Is this possible
Please tell me 1.How to schuled a background job to execute after every 15 min ?
                          2. How to append the textfile on my desktop with new value?.
    Thanks & Regards
    Lalith

    1.
Create a Variant for the Program and
    Schedule JOB in background:
Go to SM36 create a Job
enter Program and Variant for that program in STEP..
    click on Start Condition
Click on DATE and TIME enter date scheduled Start and END times
    click on Period Values
    Click on HOURLY/WEEKLY etc
CLick on RESTRICTIONS also to use further criteria.
so your job will be scheduled and run as per your requirement.
and in SM37 Transaction check the status of that JOB
Check this link for scheduling jobs..

    2. As per will smith.. you cannot schedule gui_downlaod in back ground job...
you can use OPEN DATASET in text mode appending addition. But this file will be on application layer..
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
      EXPORTING
        filename = gd_file
        filetype = 'ASC' " DAT,WK1
        Append   = ' '   "if mode = A then this would be X
      CHANGING

  • Background Job with User Name

I am trying to submit report program in background job. I want to submit it with specific user name so I am submitting with user name as 'ABC'  as below

But it creates job with current user(sy-uname) running the program and  not 'ABC'. How I can change it for specified user?

    WITH werks = werks
    USER user
    VIA JOB jobname
    NUMBER jobcount

Of course the user should be the one existing in the system. I guess there is no such ABC. Find the one which exists (use i.e. su01).

  • Schedule background job with different user

    hi ,
i want to schedule a background job under a different user
i have used the parameter AUTHCKNAM of 'job_submit'
    it is giving sy-subrc = 0 .
    but it is not working
i have also used the FM 'bp_job_create' in place of 'job_open'
    it is giving sy-subrc = 0 .
    but not working as needed
    kindly help
    regards...

    hi
    Try this
We can do that via SUBMIT statement:
Go through the documentation os SUBMIT statement with addition:
... USER user VIA JOB job NUMBER n
Schedules the specified report in the job specified by the job name job and the job number n. The job runs under the user name user and you can omit the addition USER user. The assignment of the job number occurs via the function module JOB_OPEN (see also the documentation for the function modules JOB_CLOSE and JOB_SUBMIT). This addition can only be used with the addition ...AND RETURN.
    OR
go through this link , i hope this ll help you to solve your problem

  • Help with File Upload manually

    Hi Experts,
I need code to upload a file without using the upload UI Element. we have our terms and conditions which has to be signed by the user and once the user signs and clicks the next button to go to the next page, I generate a pdf with the time stamp of when the user signed and upload it to ECC. here i can not use the File upload UI Element but have to upload it automatically to ECC.
Can any one help me out with this please.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I dont know why you need to to upload the file for this requirement. You can simply store the user id and the timestamp in portal database table or in a ECC z table.
In case you definitely need to upload the file then you can use KM API to uploadthe file to portal KM folder
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a099a3bd-17ef-2b10-e6ac-9c1ea42af0e9?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
but you need not use the upload feature in the example, instead just get the data from wd context and upload to KM.

  • Problem with file upload

Hi all, my problem has something to do with internal working of pageflow.
    Here is what has happened:
    1. I have a page with a few portlets on it.
    2. One of the portlet is for uploading file (lets call it upload portlet)
    3. The rest of the portlet need to access the PortletBackingContext using the following code (put in a jpf):
    PortletBackingContext portletCtx = PortletBackingContext.getPortletBackingContext(super.getRequest());
    4. When the upload portlet transfers the file, the other portlets will refresh (i'm using refreshAction attribute). When the other portlets refresh, they can't get the PortletBackingContext. It always returns null.
If I remove the enctype="multipart/form-data" from the netui:form tag, it works as per normal (but of course the file uploading fails).
    Any idea?
    Thanks.
