BDC Recording for creating a new Transport request

Hi folks,
        I have done BDC to update a view. It has to update the values in view and create a new request at run time. Its working fine in foreground. But when it comes to back ground, it shows error, saying no batch input data for that screen. Here i am cliking 'create new request' icon to create new request and system will generate a request at runtime. So it might be showign that error. Could any body suggest me how to handle this error. How to create a new request in BDC recording at ruen time....Thanks in advance..

    I want to set up the service desk function in the solution manager 4.0.
    In the IMG I'm pointed to note 898614. Here the settings are described but not clear anough for me.
    Here are the first two steps:
    1) In transaction SCPR20, activate the following BC set:
    SOLMAN40_SDESK_BASICFUNC_000. Activate this in expert mode with the option "Overwrite everythng".
    2) Create a new transport request (transaction SE09) in the source client (000) of your Solution Manager system. Unpack the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Init.zip from the attachment to this note. Copy the contents of the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt to the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import the transport
    request to your Solution Manager client.
    Unpack the BC sets contained in the file SOLMAN40_SDESK_SP04.ZIP.
    In transaction SCPR20, activate the BC sets. The BC sets contain additional actions.
    Activation must take place in expert mode using the option "Overwrite everythng".
    Then, implement Note 931196 if necessary.
    My question is how do I create a new transport request and how do I import the file Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt in to this request.?
    If I press the button create in tr-se09 I could choose between 6 differend transports. Which wan do I have to choose?
    And how to import the Piecelist_Service_Desk_Initial.txt  file.

    Hi,
    go to SE09 in Client 000 and create a transport request of type workbench. You may use copy&paste from piecelist text file to add objects to your transport request.
    Logon to your production client where you want to use Service Desk functionality and import that transport using transaction SCC1.

    Please let us know about the issue when you create the new Transport request .
    In which system you are creating the request . Hope its in Development  .
    If so , check the entries are enabled in SCC4 > Changes without automatic recording
    Changes to repository objects and cross client customizing allowed .
    Protection level 0
    If these entries are enabled, you must be able to create Transport requests.
    Please check and update .

    The developer will be creating a Transport Request in Development System.
    The tester will just check the functionlaities in Quality server. What is the use of a Tester creating a Transport Request? Any scenario you can explain?

    I have a FI AP Generic Datasource containing extract structure with appended fields.
    It has already been activated and transported to Testing System.
    Now, I am to create a new transport request for this DataSource and Extract structure.
    I do not want to delete and recreate the Generic Datasource.
    I am trying to look at the options in the extract structure top menu from where I can create a new Tranport Request.
    Please let me know the steps

    Hi Dev,
    Once you send the transport request for any data source from Dev to Testing you wont find that again in your Dev (I mean the TR). So, when you change anything for this data source or view now in Dev and try to save it, it will ask for a new transport request and here you can mention a new one starting from View then activate it and go to RSO2 regenerate it and use the same transport request for this too. When you transport this TR to Testing Environment the data source will automatically get changed.

    Hi,
       Go to Smartforms TCode and there GOTO-> Object directory Entry -> Lock overview and there you will find the Change Request assigned to the smart form. If you want to change the existing change request there are two ways.
    a) Go to TCode se09 and then go to the Change request and there delete the smartform which is existing in the Task. And then go to Smartforms TCode and then change it and save it.
    b) Release the existing request and then create a new request.

    small modification in my req. is
    for smartform one transport reqst is there,its nt released.
    after some modifications whatever done,after cmpletion of dat,i saved,at that time it's nt asking new  transport req.....,
    i think if alreadsy is there,thats y its nt asking.
    but in properities date n time is there,those r same wenever the transport req.. was created,those r displayed.
    they r asking 2days date n time  wid new modifications of smartform.
    if that previous transport request,can i move into production,is there any problm wid dat.
    or otehrwise my idea is i can copy this form into someoder name,previous one i can delete ,from this i can copy into my previous name,now it must b ask new request.
    i can use this one in my program also widout changing any thing in my driver program.
    plz giv me some suggestions on this thing.n giv me reply asap.

    i want to create BDC recording for position,job,role . what is the transaction for creating postion,job, role?/??
    and i have to check wheather for one job , role is there or not? if not i have to create that role.. similiarly i have to check for position that there is corresponding job is there or not.. if not i have to create the job???

    Hi Sachin,
    1) Creating BDC is an ABAP-ers job and being functional its not ur responsibility. If u really want to do that then u can do it through T.Code - SHDB.
             While creating BDC for Position u have to go through T.Cdoe - SHDB and in that give PP01 in the TRANSACTION CODE feild. Then go on for recording.  After that ask the help of an ABAP-er.
    2) To Check if a POSITION or a JOB is there, then Go to T.Code - PP01, under Obj Abbr. feild put S for POSITION and C for JOB and press enter after entering the POSITION and JOB id. U'll get the result. OK
    3) To check for ROLE, u have go to T.Code - PFCG and there check for the particular ROLE u r looking for. Here in this T.Code u can actually create, change and delete the ROLES.OK

    and one more thing i face some issues when doing bdc for AS01, so i use AS91 and AS92 for uploading by using LSMW (direct input method and recording method) and it was successful.(if u have to do coding go for BDC/BAPI or there is no coding better to choose LSMW (it is the easiest way) as of my knowledge, so before starting just analyze once which method is best for ur requirement.

    Steps for creating TRANSPORT PACKAGE
    Go to SE80 and in the obj edit mode select Select DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION tab where u can giv ur PACKAGE NAME and create the package
    Select your Software Component ,Transport Layer
    Package Type = NOT A MAIN PACKAGE and create a request
    and save it.

    If you want to know, for a given table, which transaction/program(s) will create a new record,  there is no easy procedure, other than to refer to experts who deal with these programs.
    It is possible to get a list of programs that refer to a table.  SE11, select the table, select the 'where-used' icon, select programs, execute.  You will be presented with a list of programs that read or write to that table.  From that list you would have to determine which one(s) create records, using your ABAP skills.  From those selected programs you would have to find which, if any, had a transaction assigned.
    Many tables are updated by more than one program/transaction.  Many other tables are not updated by ANY interactive transaction.
    If you ever decide to go ahead with this research, make sure you publish it.  You could probably make yourself a bit of money.

  • Problem in adding function group inlcude in new transport request

    This is regarding the issue while moving the function group developed for BAPI object to production.Include having the suffix UXX in main program of function group I am not able to change and then save in new transport request,but the same is possible in R/3 4.7 version.
         Can you please help me out to get it done in ECC 6.0.

    Did you try to do: Put cursor on transport number-select include icon-say select freely selected objects-I usually say dev class and can highlight and select the object and save. Please reward points if helpful.

  • Bdc recording for XK02 to change vendor address

    Dear All,
    I am trying to create a bdc recording for XK02 transaction to change Address fields ( Name1 ... Name4 , House num1, street , House number supplement , city , State , Postal code etc .)
    When i open the transaction XK02 by clicking address, I see all the above fields.
    But when i try to create a recording for the same XK02 transaction through SM35, I see House no & Street as one field and House number supplement missing.
    Please let me know how can i update House num1 , Street and House num supplement seperately.
